Hopefully you left Apple your contact info (name phone #, email address).
Apple would simply pass your contact to the last registered owner. It would be up to the owner to contact you. As Dave mentioned, Apple will not give you any info (except may to tell you it was or was not registered, but not to who). Turn it on once in a while and maybe they have activated FindMyiPad and a message will pop up (don't need to be logged onto the iPad to a message).

HT5621 I changed my Apple ID, but it will not let me change it on my phone. How do I change it on my phone. I alreadt tried to delete the account but to do that I need to put in my password, but it wont work because its the wrong email.

I am trying to change my Apple ID under icloud on my phone, but it will not let me do it, I have already tried to delete the account, but I cannot do that becuase it wants me to put in a password that I do not have. What can I d0? I am also going next week to pick up my new phone so I need to fix it soon.

Particularly for your case:
iCloud
iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iCloud.
If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download to your device.
If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account. Depending on what iCloud options are turned on, you'll be asked to confirm that you want to delete data from your device. To confirm, tap Delete. (If you're using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, you'll be asked to enter the password for your previous Apple ID. Enter the password, then tap Turn Off.) The data will be deleted from your device, but not from iCloud.
Enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download again to your device.
If you still get prompted for your old Apple ID's password, the following article provides some additional troubleshooting steps:

i found an i phone at airport and would very much like to get this back to the person, we were in europe for a month and i think it is dead. how can i return it to them? i do not want to just hand it in at the provider store, i want to make sure this gets back to the right person. i am not sure which iphone it is even.

I would turn it into ATT (then Verizon then Sprint) and let them do the heavy lifting on it. Besides, they have the "confidential records" you do not have. Those companies will not simply hold onto it and secretly re-use it, unless the original owner already has a new one and the old one is irrelevant. At least that is my opinion of how the will deal with it. You may get to keep it if the original owner says "not interested" -- *maybe*.

You could contact the baggage department at Heathrow, as someone may have reported it missing, or turn it in to the local police. Usually, if no one claims it after a period of time, it will be yours.

You cannot drag pics from computer to iphone. This has never been a feature of iphone.
You sync them as you would anything esle.
You select photos from the photos tab. Whatever is selected will be on your iphone. Anything not selected will not be. Make sure that everything you want on your iphone is selected, then sync.

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? The auto recovery dat should be in the Microsoft User Data folder in your documents folder, not in the Library. However, I Haven't had to look recently.
