the guy at Verizon said my icloud did a back up the day before it said but when I access my Icloud on my PC it doesnt show pics
can someone please please help me//???
Error -1 indicates a major hardware failure. The only thing you can do is bring your phone to Apple for replacement.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have. -

Are you sure, you are viewing the correct iPhoto library? iPhoto may have created a new Library.
Hold down the alt/options key ⌥, while you double click iPhoto to launch it. Is there more than one Photo Library in the panel that opens? Then try the other libraries, if your photos are in there.

I restored my iphone then chose to back up from itunes and lost all my photos !
I restored my Iphone 4 and then chose to back up from itunes (as there where I have always backed up on to) I got all my apps back and contacts, but lost all my photos, wi-fi info and other little bits.
Does anyone know how to get them back at all?!??
Thank you so muchSomething may be wrong with the backup in regards to texts and photos in the Camera Roll with your iPhone 4, but music is not included with the backup and the same for photos transferred from your computer.
The music should be in your iTunes library on your computer and any photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone 4 should remain on your computer. -
Update from 10.5.6 to 10.5.8 and lost all users and their home directories
My server has been working flawlessly for many months. I did the upgrade to 10.5.6 and everything has been fine. I decided to do the software update to 10.5.8. When it was finished I could not log in as admin or anyone else. I finally got in as root...then it gave me an error in Workgroup Manager. Said I was not logged in and there was an error of -14008.
All my users are gone and so is their home directories....I hate to say it but this is ridiculous...doing a simple update and losing all the users? I expect this from Windows but not my xSERVER.
Does anyone have a fix to correct this? I really hate having to tell all the users tomorrow morning a simple update wiped all their data.

I saw your issue and I feel your pain. I did the same upgrade path to 10.6 and found that I had no users!. This is not your typical apple upgrade, the same as all other 10-X from day one. I cheated and used a new drive as I feel that upgrades may cause issues and I also used that as an opportunity to upgrade to a larger hard drive. After booting up on the new system with the upgraded drive I found the same issue to be true. I used the original drive, modified all my users to allow my new admin account to have rights to a user that I called 'move' on the old system. I booted up the old system modified all the users to allow user 'move' then I copied them to the new directory I set up that I called 'move' on the old drive, The next step I set up a new user 'move' on the new system drive and copied all the data from the old system drive 'move' to the new system drive 'move' I created all of my users on the new system drive. I set up all of my user accounts with a simple password 123456 on the new system I copied the users to there new directory. You could restore your backup on spare drive or an external drive with the old OS loaded. Postits on all the users monitors for Monday morning and... grumbling users with all of the data from Friday, get KrispyCreams and leave by the coffee pot [this step i forgot]. The users will talk about how nice it was that you brought doughnuts and not how there login is messed up [ha ha....}
I know that this is not an elegant or a quick solution but it worked for me and my 36 user accounts. If you know Unix script or Python or Apple script the procedures would be faster as you could batch the whole mess.

I have a MBP with Lion as well as Parallels and Windows 7. In Lion, I completely uninstalled Firefox using "Clean My Mac." Don't ask me why:( Understandably, my bookmarks are gone.
Are they hidden anywhere they can be retrieved? I have been trying to fix this for three days using all your suggestions but just do not have the savvy to do it alone.

Dave CainThanks Edmeister. I was able to reach from OSX to Windows 7 to locate and 'Restore' to a bookmark backup file from the Firefox resident to Windows. In fact, I see a list of old dates that are prior to my deleting Firefox from OSX. But none of them changed any of the current bookmarks in OSX Firefox. I then Restored Firefox on the Windows side but it didn't give me any new bookmarks. I was under the impression (incorrectly) that both sides might have the same bookmarks. Wrong answer.
When going into Time Machine, there is also no luck because the Firefox file does not exist in Application Support, so there is nothing to pull from there.
Sounds like it's game over. -
Just back from Disney land and had a message on Ipod to upgrade to IOS6 I done this without syncing my photos and now have lost all my precious photos from Disneyland, someone please help and tell me I can recover them please????
- Did something happen during the update? If the update via wifi or iTunes was successful then the photos should be on the iPod after the update unless they were synced photos and you updated via iTunes.
- The only way now is to get them from your PhotoStream if they were still in the steam.. See:

Have you been using your phone as recommended? If so, you've been importing photos in your camera roll onto your computer for safe keeping. Just as you would with a standalone digital camera. Your photos would then reside safely on your computer for archival.
While camera roll photos ARE part of the backup, not everything always goes smoothly as you've seen, which is why the recommendation to import photos as soon as possible to your computer.
If you have a recent backup of your iPhone, you can restore and hopefully many of your photos will be on this backup. Any photos or data added to your phone since this last backup are, of course, gone forever.

I have an iPhone 4, iPad2, and sync with MacBook Pro (Mac S X (10.7.2)
On the iPhone and iPad tap Settings > iCloud
Toggle Photo Stream off then back on then restart the devices.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
On the Mac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Photo Stream, then reselect then restart the Mac.
Hopefully that willl sync the photos on all your devices. -
How can I prevent deleted mail from ending up in "All Mail" and "Archives"?
To my horror, I emptied these boxes and lost all my mail from all my boxes .
All mail also disappeared from my iPad, I suppose because they are "synched"

Thanks for any thoughts.I'm having a similar but slightly different problem. My company just migrated to Gmail, and it's saving mail drafts every 30 seconds into my Trash folder.
I unchecked the "Show in IMAP" preference in the Gmail settings, but my Drafts folder completely disappeared. I went back and checked it and the folder reappeared (with my drafts still in there).
I like the idea if starting an email on my laptop and having the option of finishing it on my iPhone or iPad, so only saving Drafts locally would not be ideal. -
in Iphoto i dragged a group of photos into a folder on the desktop, they went in as thumbnails and i don't know how i did that. can anyone help me do that again
Don't you mean Photos or are you still using iPhoto with 10.10.3?
Normally one gets the preview version of a photo or the edited version if it's been edited when dragging from a thumbnail to the Desktop. Don't know how you would have gotten small thumbnail versions. -

thank youDon't spend a lot of time trying to change it. It's an iCloud problem that's happened before, and when it happened in August it went back to the correct colors in a few days. Just be careful when you add new items to the calendar to use the right calendar (even if the color is wrong), otherwise you'll have things out of synch when the correct colors come back.

I am using a work laptop and have the same problem. When I try to change the "configure proxy", they only available option is "use this proxy server for all protocols". Could it be that my system administrator blocked me from changing it since they don't want us to use Firefox.
