HT4859 I backed up my iPhone 4 and I've now lost a year's worth of everything. How can I retrieve it ?
I backed up my iPhone 4, Version iOS 6.1.3, last night. Then I reset my phone ~ all in an attempt to recover Notes I lost yesterday that were on my phone
and in the Cloud. But the phone backed up data from a backup of a year ago. As result, I've lost a year's worth of EVERYTHING. Please help me retrieve it.

BTW, you can check if your notes are really in icloud, by going to icloud.com and signing in and opening notes.
If they are not there - they never were.

Very simple. Turn off Find my iDevice, then Tap Settings, General, Erase, Erase all content and settings.

Hi user 1724, before icloud, we had the same issue....
so yes, the solution was to each log into the mac separately.
i kept the main itunes library and apple id, and my son made his own itunes library (which linked to the main itunes/apple id) - so we were able to maintain separate contacts lists.
but then w/ the cloud i guess we assumed the cloud would know we each have different contact lists on diff. phones, but it seems the cloud just lumped it all together - -
by mistake i upgraded my iphone from my friends computer & so lost my transsaction in accounts lite app, how can i recover my data
there should be a back up on your friends computer of your phone when it was restored. If there is all you need to do is restore from that backup and your good to go, I just hope that you did not plug your phone into there computer 2 times.
The first thing you will need to do is turn of automatic sync and then you can plug your phone in and restore from the backup that should have been made -

Just a guess here, but when you are in Contacts, look to the top where it says Groups. Could yours be set to Hide All Contacts?

Did you have time machine set up? Maybe you can retrieve them from a backup.
Oh... and if your mail provider is someone like Google, They may be sitting in your all mail folder on the server. -
How can I get rid of the huge "other" listed on my storage of my iPhone? It's taking up huge gigs. This phone is not even 60 days old!
This worked for me with iPhone 5:
Backup iPhone in iTunes
in iPhone>Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and Settings
in iTunes> Restore iPhone with previous Backup (point 1)
There is no need to reset the iPhone with iTunes and no need to manually resync apps and content.
You will have your "new" iPhone with all your apps, settings and media just like before
with only a mere 500 mb (0,5gb) of "other" memory. -

Hi KiltedTim, I did connect Iphone (3GS) to my itunes and downloaded my apps to Itunes and then I did the upgrade automatically. It upgraded to IOS6. Then when it was rebooting It said that (Itunes said) that there is no Sim Card in the phone. That is not true, there is a Sim card in the phone and was working prior to upgrade. I put Sim card in another phone and it was ok. Took the phone to Apple Store Genius group abd they said I have to get a new phone for $150 or go to AT&T store and get a new Sim Card. got the new Sim card, loaded and connected to Itunes, Same thing. First could not connect to Itunes then when it did said no Sim card. Sim card is working with another 3GS phone. I think Itunes messed up my 3GS when upgrading OS. What do you think. Any body?

I was in a car collision and need proof of my location when I called 911. The Police Dept., refused to respond, since there were no injuries.
Now, I have a dispute with the other driver who is falsely stating accident happened at another intersection. In addition of calling 911 twice, I also took pictures of damages. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures of the intersection signs.
My AT&T carrier states that this info. can only be disclosed by a subpoena. My insurance carrier states that they will not subpoena this info., since it is a civil case only.
The Police Department does not keep records of calls they do not attend to.
How can I get this location info. from my i phone device if at all possible?

How can I restore my ipad 2 wifi+3g cdma when I have removed the 3g module. It stops about midway when installing firmware and never finishes with an error (1).
I'll ask again, what do you mean you tried to "remove the 3G Module"? Are you just talking about the SIM card? or did you physically open the device and attempt to extract the cellular radio chip from the iPad?
If just the SIM, then this is normal behavior. It doesn't even need to be a working SIM so long as you have WiFi. But it is necessary to activate the iPad. -

On being prompted to create a new back-up on my Mac by Time Machine I lost a year's worth of back-ups. The crazy thing is tht on my ProBook I still have them even though it uses the same Time Capsule, which to mind mind they are still there on the Time Capsule. Has anybody else had this experience or has any suggestions how I can retrieve the info on my Mac? Any help gratefully accepted! Thanks

Not necessarily. Each Mac using a particular Time Capsule has its own set of backups that are independent of those of any other Mac.
Has anybody else had this experience or has any suggestions how I can retrieve the info on my Mac?
Why are those backups so important to you? My advice is to move on and live without them. -

What version did you have?
Books do nor exist except in the iPhoto database so you can not "find" a book vista TM. You restore a previous library (be sure NOT to overwrite your current library) and switch to it
