After downloading iOS 7 on my iPad mini I cannot download apps from the Apps store. Likewise I cannot update the existing apps which needed updating. In addition apps would just close or hang up.please help. How can I correct these?
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Did you back these books up to your computer before updating to iOS 8? It is always suggested that you back everything up before updating, so if something goes wrong, you can easily put them back on.
You should just be able to plug the device into the computer you sync to and they should sync as long as you have "Sync Books" ticked in the books section. -

g.k.fromindAfter updating IOS many people have the same problem that the mic no longer works and Apple say it is a hardware problem. Rubbish! Plug in an apple earphone and then try it. (Apple earphones have 4 sections on the jack plug, must be this type.) Mic works fine so obviously it is a problem in the new IOS and this is a way around it!

Since downloading iOS 8 on my iPad 2 it has stopped working and will not connect to iTunes to do a restore. I have tried to do a reset using the sleep button and home key and all I get is a white band across the screen and then it boots into the main system but it is just a series of white lines going across the screen, how can I do a restore on this?

Download iOS 4.2 for iPad without iTunes
Have been struggling with Network Connection Timeout and couldn't download IOS 4.2 before I found this fix.
I have now (finally) successfully downloaded IOS 4.2 for iPad.
You can download the iOS 4.2 update directly from appldnld.apple.com/iPad/ in your favorite download manager without iTunes.
I'm using Firefox (Win-7) and the download manager add-on.
As the download is stopped numerous times without reason
(I suspect server overload), you'll have to reclick on the download manager box numerous times to complete the download.
Once the iPad1,14.2.1_8C148Restore.ipsw file is downloaded, connect the iPad to the computer, launch iTunes and press Shift + Update button to upgrade your iPad iOS.
Go to the folder where you saved the download and open it.
Voila.

By default, after any check for updates the next check is scheduled for 1 week later. You can verify this by clicking the "check for updates" button. The next time you come back to the page for that device, you'll see that the next check date is a week out. -

Try restoring the device using iTunes. Connect the iPad to your computer and when iTunes opens, select your device on the left side, then click on the summary tab, then click on Restore.
After the device is restored you will have an opportunity to restore from your backup. Restore from the backup when you are done and then sync with iTunes.
if that doesn't work, try recovery mode.

After upgrading to IOS 5 on my iPad only some books in iBooks show content. They were fine before the upgrade. I made a new version of the book in Pages and reinstalled them on the iPad. Still nothing. What is the fix?
I just got the iBooks update and that fixed the problem, except the book covers look like they were done in a government printing office.

No, it's not in the store. If you have iOS 5+ on the iPad then you should have a Settings > General > Software Update option on the iPad so you can update directly on it. If you have iOS 4 then you can only update via your computer's iTunes
