sounds like you are in full screen mode for that app. you will not see the red yellow grn.
exit full screen Upper right corner, click the double arrows
or in the drop down menu>View exit full screen

The backup does not include synced media like apps and music. You can redownload them by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you used PhotoStream get them from your stream. See:

Well, when you restore your ipad, there is really no way to get the information back. The reason you restore it i to get all of the information off of it. Why did you restore it if you wanted to keep the info?
Aa far as I know, there is no way to un-restore any device. But, you can put the info back onto the device if it was on your computer, etc.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.

Have you checked all your homescreens and app folders for them, and do they show on the iPad's spotlight search screen (swipe your first homescreen to the right and type in Safari or Mail) ?
Safari can be hidden via Settings > General > Restrictions > Safari being 'off', so you could check that as well.
If you still can't find then try a reset and see if you can find them after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot
There is also Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout which will reset the layout of your apps and might make it easier to find them.

For future reference, if your iPhone misbehaves, always try a Reset. It's painless and often solves the problem.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).

The Apple Store recommended wiping and reloading software on my Mac Mini yesterday. In the process I lost iMovie, iPhoto and Garage Band. How can I get them back?

I took my Mac Mini to the Apple store yesterday since I was having trouble with difficult to read text. They recommended wiping the drive and reloading it. I lost iMovie, iPhoto and Garage band in the process. How can I get them back. The App store says they are already installed.

What I missed was that I needed to select "Purchased" rather than using the normal listing of items. Once I went to the purchased list I could easily download the various software.

I presume that you have got preinstalled windows 7 System, Which you upgraded to Windows 8 now you have downgraded to windows 7. I have few questions & suggestion
How you downgraded to windows 7 using Recovery System or using windows OEM Disk
I am presuming that you have used the OEM disk, I would suggest you to use the OKR feature to restore to factory default by press F11 button during Post i.e.. When Lenovo Logo is displayed and follow onscreen instructions
Have you created a set of recovery media? If yes you can use these to recovery your system
Note: Before using above steps please ensure you have backed up your data

I just restored my phone to a previous backup, and I am now missing my itunes and music applications. How do I get them back?

I recently quit my job. When i worked there I was using an iPhone 5 but had to give it up when I left. I have an iPhone 4s and wanted to backup my first phone on to this one.
1) I backed up my iPhone 5 to itunes.
2) I plugged in my iPhone 4s and couldnt do a restore because the firmware was out of date. It instructed me to do it as a new phone and then do a buckup. So I set it up as a new phone.
3) Updated firmware on 4s
4) Restored phone to my iPhone 5 backup.
Now everything went well except Im missing some apps. So I have 2 questions:
Q1) What apps come with the Iphone 4s, what I cant get out of the app store?
Q2) How do I get them back? I am missing iTunes and Music already that I know of and I want to use the phone for music of course.

After updating my iphone 3G to ios 6, I have lost all of my contacts and my picture. How do I get them back and where do I find them? I cannot locate them on my daughters pc and I have no idea where they are. I chose backup to cloud when I did the update.

I have not updated my iPhone 3G since 2010 as I do not have a computer and have to use my daughters pc. She plugged in my phone to update through iTunes (which took all night) and in the morning it was completed. We backedup to the icloud but now mu pictures and contacts are missing. We cannot locate my contacts on icloud or on the phone.
How do I locate my missing contacts and put them back ON MY PHONE. I had over 150 contacts with information like phone numbers, birthdays, and anniversaries.
Do I need to restore the phone? Are they on the cloud?????

Lost bookmark button and favorites tab. How do I get them back?

I had problems with my NEW Dell computer and had to have everything removed and had to start over again. (not by me, by a professional) After all was done and my info was replaced, my favorites and bookmark button disappeared. I called Dell and had a download Dell PC TuneUp. Which really took care of a lot of problems. Finally I realized my above buttons were missing. I downloaded a Google tool bar, but the bookmark format is not like it was. I do not like what they now have. My favorites tab appeared for a while then vanished. I don't know how to get it back.

Did you or they make a backup of your profile data before removing (reinstalling) everything ?

Following entering about:config, I get the usual page of links to various sites including links to browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion but clicking on these links just opens a website which doesn't help because no website gives any opportunity to double click on anything and change its value. How do I get browser.places.smartBookmarksVersion in a form where I can change its value?

Firefox v.17 in WXP and W7 disables Back button, Reload button, Home button, and Bookmarks Toolbar Items - How can I get them back or rollback to V.16 ???

All those buttons worked fine until I updated Firefox from v.16 to v.17. Now, I can't get any of the above mentioned buttons on the toolbar to work anymore. Links inside an HTML page still work, but not the buttons noted above.
This v.17 BUG appeared on my WXP and W7 platform PC's, only after I upgraded Firefox to v.17. No other changes were made that could have caused this BUG on either PC.
If I can't fix this, then how can I rollback to v.16?

Sorry cor-el, you answered a different question than the one I asked.
It turns out that FF v17 is incompatible with Tab Utilities Lite v.1.1.5. Disabling TULite restored proper operation.
Two questions for the Mozilla community -
Why must there be so many new versions? Couldn't they be combined?
And,
Why can't there be a roll-back capability, so that if a new version is defective or buggy (yes, it certainly happens!), users could roll it back until the bugs are worked out? REAL software always includes roll-back capability!!!
