Html dynamic page

Does mailto code with text attachment work in oracle portal. I tried this in a dynamic page but not giving me proper result.Can we use ENCTYPE ?
<FORM METHOD = POST ENCTYPE = "text/plain" ACTION = "mailto:[email protected]" >
Suggestions please!

Hi,
If you are using "mailto:test.com" then what are you trying to submit? I assume you are having some text / texarea with
data. You wont be able to send the output of the dynamic page. Only the form items will be submitted and their content
will appear in the mail. And for the enctype for plain text you can use enctype= "text/plain" for html you can use
enctype= multipart/mixed; boundary="------------2A9240C34ACEDCCF1FCE1E33"
Thanks,

  • HTML POST method in a dynamic page

    Greetings Portalists,
    I have a basic question here. I need to pass the values of an html form (constructed within a dynamic page) to a procedure to process the users' inputs. The form is highly dynamic in terms of numbers of parameters, but we're talking about upwards of 200 text fields that require passing. Now, I realise that this in itself isn't a problem, and I've set this up without too much difficulty using method="POST" - but the called procedure in the form's action=... attribute seems to need to be publicly-executable for this scenario to work. For a production environment, I don't want to keep the PUBLIC grant on the procedure, but whenever I revoke it, the Portal throws me back a 404 Not Found when I submit the form.
    So my question is this -- how can I tighten the security around executing the procedure? Are there any best practices for this sort of situation (which I can't imagine are all that rare)?
    I've searched through many various web toolkit and Portal documents looking for an answer to this but to no avail, so any suggestions really would be highly appreciated.
    Many thanks.
    *.s.*

    Granting execute to public make a procedure accessible to portal_public (the schema) which contains the mappings to all the authenticated light-weight users. You can keep the public or portal_public grant for execution on the procedure and yet have a good control on who would be able to see your form. That would be based on your pl/sql logic.
    For instance, if you wish to keep it for only authenticated users (users who are in registered with your portal) or with any certain group of users, you can always apply a block containing code for checking their group memberships. If a user belongs to your desired group, you can let the desired logic expose to them, otherwise not.
    Please check the portal pl/sql api's that come with portal version you are using, for help.

  • How to use Custom Search in Dynamic Page or HTML Portlet ?

    Gurus,
    1. I have a tab called My Space in the portal web site, where user gets a personalized view of the content.
    2. I am using custom attributes and custom item types. I have a custom attribute called 'Location', which is a attribute of custom item types.
    3. I have 2 pages - News and Events.
    4. All the content in News and Events page is tagged by the attribute 'Location'.
    5. The requirement is to let the user search the News and Events by Location.
    6. To achieve this I used the Custom Search portlet and the user can select the attribute Location and see the resultant News and Event items by location in the Search portlet.
    7. The requirement is to present the News items and Event items in separate regions on the page and show only the first 5 News and Event items in the result and show a More link which would guide the user to rest of the News and Event items.
    8. Eventually there may be more content other than News and Events tagged by location. If so, the requirement is to create a new region and display the new content.
    9. How would I do this using custom search ? I was thinking if there is anyway I could use the custom search api (where can i find it ?) in the HTML portlet or Dynamic page and submit the result to IFRAMES in each region and show the output ?
    Pls advise.
    Thanx a bunch.

    I would suggest that you use two custom search portlets; one for the news items and one for the events items. Switch the custom search portlets to "AutoQuery" mode and add the relevant criteria. On the results display tab of the the "edit defaults" screen, choose to show just 5 items.
    To add a link to show the user mode results, I'd create two new pages that have just a single custom search portlet on it that is customised to show more of the results and maybe has the pagination links enabled.
    Then I'd add two "Page Link" items underneath the two news and events portlets on the first page in an item region.
    I'm sure there are other ways of doing this as well. Hope that helps to get you started.

  • Struts - HTML:link tag with dynamic page attribute?

    I am trying to use the html:link but the page value is dynamic (resulting from the bean within the iterate tag). The code below doesn't work - error. Is there a way to use all Struts tags and make this happen. Any ideas?
            <logic:iterate id="myMenuForm" property="menuItem" scope="session" name="menuForm" >          <html:link page="<bean:write name="myMenuForm" property="menuDisplayName"/>">                  <bean:write name="myMenuForm" property="menuDisplayName"/>          </html:link>        </logic:iterate> Thanks,
    mlv

    Thanks for all your help. Based on all you your comments, it is now working
    and I thought I would provide some details about how I got it working.
    There are not that many examples within the Struts documentation.
    id = unique name for the object that can be referenced within the iterate
    tag.
    name = is the Bean, in this case it's the ActionForm, that contains the List
    object that will be iterated. In my case, I have a ActionForm that contains
    a List property that contains all the menu item rows from the databse.
    property = is the property name within the ActionForm that is the List
    object. Links to the getter method
    Within the <bean:write> tag you use the id name to get a handle on the final
    object from the iterate tag and the property is one of the property values
    within the bean that is contained within the List.
    So in this case I have a ActionForm bean that contains a List property that
    contains a collection of beans.
    FormAction - bean
    property menuItems of type List contains:
    - row 1 = bean (with a property of menuDisplayName)
    - row 2 = bean (with a property of menuDisplayName)
    - row 3 = bean (with a property of menuDisplayName)
    Here's the JSP code for the tag.
            <logic:iterate id="myMenuForm" name="menuForm" property="menuItem" >
              <html:link page="www.yahoo.com"/>
                      <bean:write name="myMenuForm" property="menuDisplayName"/>
              </html:link>
            </logic:iterate>Now I would like to make the <html:link> page attribute value dynamic from
    the iterate bean. Therefore, you can make the url for the link dynamic If
    you know how to do that, please feel free to provide some help.

  • Older Business HTML and Dynamic Page Table question

    I am not sure if anyone will know here (or if this is the best place to post), but I have a question concerning using the Business HTML template library controls/API for use with ITS. I am attempting to use the "Dynamic Page Table" control, and have hit some problems. Does anyone have any example code they can share on getting this to work correctly (ie, paging through records, selecting from rows, etc)? I have "torn apart" the underlying Javascript and even modified my code to adjust for some formatting issues that the API's do not handle, however, my "pages" all display at once in the beginning and only hide when I use one of the paging icons (forward,back,all back, etc). THe "isVisible" parameter seems to do nothing for the "page" DIVs. Currently running the latest version of ITS and R/3 4.6b on the backend if that helps. Also, the example from the SAP Design Guild cookbook is very basic and does not "page" as I need. Thanks in advance!

  • WebDB - Dynamic Pages SVG/HTML Encoding Help

    I have been playing around with WebDB 2.2
    to generate an SVG document from a table with X/Y locations
    in columns.
    I can generate the SVG content fine but when WebDB sends it to
    my browser (IE 5.5) it is displayed as XML rather than as an SVG document.
    Now I think that the problem is that the document does not have an SVG extension
    and WebDB is typing the document as HTML. When I check the properties of the
    document (right mouse click and select properties), Windows tells me the type of the
    document is HTML. If I File>Save the document with an SVG extension and then open it
    in IE I get my map.
    I can't see how to force WebDB to change the document type.
    Can anyone help me?
    I hope I am making sense :-)
    Simon

    Have you specified any value (greater than 0) in the Portlet expires in ... minutes field ?
    If you have, then I guess your dynamic page is getting cached.
    Before submitting the form, do a right click on the browser page and view the page source.
    What does the <form> tag look like ?
    Does it still show the old procedure name ?

  • Dynamic Page truncating html form text item

    I have created a dynamic page that displays the system date on a form. When the
    page displays, the date truncates after the space or comma. ie.
    instead of displaying "Monday, December 30" it displays "Monday". If i remove
    the comma or spaces from the format, it will display ok. Is there some type of
    URL encoding I need to to.
    <FORM action="stars3.star_portal.process_student_att" method="post">
    <TABLE border="0" cellspacing=0 cellpadding=2>
    <TR BGCOLOR="#000063">
    <ORACLE>
    BEGIN
    htp.p('<TD ALIGN="CENTER"><FONT COLOR="WHITE">' );
    htp.p('<input type="text" name="T1" size="30" value=' ||
    to_char(sysdate,'Day, Month DD') || '>' || '</FONT></TD>');
    END;
    </ORACLE>
    </TR>
    </TABLE>
    </FORM>

    Hi,
    Yes, it is an encoding problem. You can make use of htp.formText to overcome this. The spaces and commas are interpreted properly with formText.
    Here is an example.
    <ORACLE>
    declare
    l_date varchar2(100);
    BEGIN
    select to_char(sysdate,'Month, Day, DD') dt
    into l_date
    from dual;
    htp.p(l_date);
    htp.p('<TD ALIGN="CENTER"><FONT COLOR="WHITE">' );
    htp.formText(cname => 'T1',
    cvalue => l_date,
    csize => 30,
    cmaxlength => 30);
    END;
    </ORACLE>

  • EDGE and HTML dynamic text in a "box" with scroll bar

    I'm new to EDGE, a win7pro master collection cs5.5 suite owner. I'm mainly in the Film/Video post production field (mostly AE, PPro, Pshop, IA) but have been branching into web design the last couple of years.  I use Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash. While I'm a expert user with all the Film/video apps, I would say I only have intermediate ability with the web apps. While I understand a lot of programing logic bulding blocks I'm not a coder.
    So since we're told "flash is dead",  my interest in Edge is to try to do some of the things that I can currently do in flash in  EDGE. I was excited when Edge first came out but lost interest when it became obvious that Adobe was not going to offer Edge and Muse to "suite owners" but only in their force feeding of the "Cloud". Better known as the "golden goose" for adobe stockholders and a never ending perpetual hole in the pocket for users. Anyway....
    I spent the last couple of days doing some of the tuts and messing with the UI. It's matured a lot since I was here last.
    I've been working on a flash site for a sports team where one of the pages is a player profile page where college recuriters and other interested parties can view recuriting relavent info/stats about players. This is how it works. While on the "Team" page a users clicks on  a button labled "Player Profiles" . (Animation) A "page" flies in and unfurls from the upper right corner (3d page flips effect created in AE played by flash as a frame SEQ). Once it lands filling most of the center of the screen there is a bright flash. As the brightness fades we see the "page" is a bordered box with a BG image of a ball field(End). (Animation) from behind the border in fly small pictures (player head shots with name and jersey number). They stream in and form a circle like a wagon train and the team logo zooms up from infinity to the center of the circle(End). As the user mouses over a player's pic it zooms up a little and gets brighter (like mouseover image nav thumbs for a image slider). If the user clicks on a player's head shot it flips over and scales up to become a text box with a scrollbar. The content of the box is a mix of images, static and dynamic text fields populated from data in an "player info data base" XML file, and some hyperlinks. It's all kept updated dynamicaly with current stats, info and images from the XML file. There is also a "PDF" button that allows the user to open/save/print a PDF of the player's profile (the PDF's are static files for now but the choice of which pdf to retrive is dynamicaly supplied via the XML file.
    So.... Is Edge now able to do something like this?  Would it need to be a collection of small animations? could these be "assembled" and connected as an asset in dreamweaver ?
    I thought I would approach this from the end (ie click on an image and display a box with dynamic TEXT fileds. ) since that is the most important part, ie displaying the dynamicaly updated profile info.  Sooooo....
    Can Edge display a scrolling text box with Images, static text, and html dynamic text in it??

  • Linking PL/SQL custom region into html db pages

    Hello,
    I have built an htmldb application with several pages, the first 7 of which contain html regions containing htmldb form items I created using the html db interface. I am able to step through the first 6 pages of my application, noting that the values of all the variables are saved when clicking from tab to tab.
    I created page 8 which contains a custom dynamic region, in which I used the PL/SQL web toolkit to create an html table, form, and several form fields in which to capture data.
    What I'd like to do is, link my custom region variables, etc. into the other pages that were generated by html db. The code snippet for my custom region is located below... After I navigate to my page with the custom region then click on Submit or even try to switch to another tab, I get the dreaded error: "The requested URL /pls/htmldb/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server."
    I am learning this product and admittedly am just knowledgeable to be dangerous. There must be some way to link in the items on my form I created with the rest of the pages within the application.
    I am sure I'm missing an important piece. Has anyone else done something similar? Any ideas, or can you tell me if what I'm doing is not possible?
    In case you're curious, the reason I am writing my own region with PL/SQL using the WebToolkit, etc. is because our organization wanted an example of taking an html db page and porting it over for use in Portal.
    Thanks in advance for any comments.
    code snippet for my custom region:

    Thank you for your reply...
    I actually was probably not very clear about what I'm trying to do. Let me try to clarify and give more background info...
    I have found it very easy to utilize html db to create my web forms, and manage all the variables and session state for me. It is so easy to make a quick form, capture info in a few fields and then post it to the DB. I have found it very difficult to use, however, in terms of getting it to format things the way I wish them to be.
    For example: I cannot seem, for the life of me, to get it to wrap field labels. This results in oddly formatted tables. I have tried to utilize the stop and start html table controls, begin on new line, new field, colspan, rowspan, etc., but what I really need is for it to let me define the tables and field labels, as I have done so successfully with the PL/SQL web toolkit (the code snipped for this is in my first post). What I did unsuccessfully with my custom dynamic region was manage to incorporate my form fields into variables and session state that will be automatically managed by html db along with the other 6 pages in my application. I was perhaps, expecting code to write itself, in retrospect. I'm sure some coding will be necessary to bind my form fields to vars in my html db appl. But, after reading a blog by a Mr. Spledoni (forgive me if spelling is wrong,) I think I messed up by overlapping <FORM> elements in my custom region. I admittedly don't understand how html db renders the form elements and processes them behind the scenes. I do remember from the Portlet classes, however, that coding was certainly necessary to process the forms once submitted.
    Am I making sense?
    I guess I need to either figure out how to format field labels the way I want them to be, OR to be able to write a custom region in PL/SQL using the web toolkit and figure out how to incorporate the values captured within the region into items or variables within my application, all other pages of which are html regions with html db items within them (not dymanic PL/SQL regions).
    Thanks for reading this, I know it's tedious...

  • In a dynamic page how to share variable between PL/SQL and javascript

    For example, my dynamic page contains such PL/SQL codes:
    <ORACLE>
    DECLARE
    info varchar(100);
    rowid urowid;
    procedure doDelete(
    row_id in urowid
    ) IS
    begin
    Delete From xxx
    WHERE rowid = row_id;
    end doDelete;
    BEGIN
    Select name, rowid INTO info, rowid
    From xxx Where xxx;
    HTP.PRN(' <INPUT TYPE="button" VALUE="show value" onClick="alert(info);">');
    HTP.PRN(' <INPUT TYPE="button" VALUE="delete" onClick="doDelete(_row_id);">');
    END;
    </ORACLE>
    The variable 'info' and '_row_id' are correct, however the two HTP. sentence do not work. What's the problem?
    What I want to do is to show all the records in TABLE A in a page. And at the end of each line (record), there' re a 'delete' and a 'update' button to let user operate on this record. Is this possible? I know form can do delete an update, but it can not show all the records in a page like what report does. Besides dynamic page, is there any other better choice? Report can do it?
    One more question. In a report, I employed link on one field to a second report. It works well. But I want to open the second report in a new window when the link is click. Is this possible?
    I was almost driven crazy by these :( I so appreciate if anyone can help.

    The code written by you is insufficient for the funtionality you are trying to achieve. Below is a method to achieve the same.
    Note: Used standard scott.emp table for the example which is located in my db provider schema.
    Do the below modifications as per your local configuration
    xxxxx -> Replace it with your Portal schema
    yyyyy -> Replace it with your db provider schema
    <<module_id_of_form>> -> Replace with the module id of form created in step 1 & 2.
    First and foremost... oracle does not allows variables starting with '_'. So if you want to use it you have to place it in double quotes ("")
    rowid -> illegal
    "_row_id" -> legal.
    However, I will advice you not to use variable names starting with "_".
    Now lets get started...
    1. Create a form on the table you are using in the dynamic page. Just have the update button. Remove the other buttons.
    2. Get the module id of this form. Instruction for getting the module id:
    a) Right-click on the form's run link and copy the shortcut
    b) Get the value of p_moduleid parameter. This is your module id.
    3. Create a procedure "save_action_details" in your db provider schema. This procedure will accomplish the delete operation on the record.
         CREATE OR REPLACE Procedure save_action_details(
         p_rowid IN VARCHAR2,
         p_action IN VARCHAR2,
         p_dyn_ref_path IN VARCHAR2,
         p_dyn_page_url IN VARCHAR2)
         is
         l_sto_session xxxxx.wwsto_api_session;
         begin
         l_sto_session := xxxxx.wwsto_api_session.load_session(
         p_domain => 'DynStore',
         p_sub_domain => 'DynStore_' || p_dyn_ref_path
         l_sto_session.set_attribute(
         p_name => 'rowid',
         p_value => p_rowid
         l_sto_session.set_attribute(
         p_name => 'action',
         p_value => p_action
         l_sto_session.save_session;
         htp.init;
         owa_util.redirect_url(p_dyn_page_url);
         end save_action_details;
    Explaination: The above procedure creates a session and keeps the rowid and action in the session. This information is used by the below dynamic form to perform the necessary action. In our exampl, the action is always going to be delete so you may go ahead and hard code it, else leave it as it is.
    4. Grant execute privilege on the procedure "save_action_details" to public.
    sql> grant execute on save_action_details to public;
    5. Create your Dynamic page.
    a) In HTML code section have the below code. This code shows some columns from the table and "update" and "delete" buttons to perform the respective action.
         <ORACLE>select empno,ename,rowid,
         '<input type="button" value="Update" onClick="doAction(this.form,''UPD'',''xxx'','''
         || xxxxx.wwv_standard_util.url_encode(rowid) || '''); tWin();">
         <input type="button" value="delete" onclick="doAction(this.form,''DEL'',''' || rowid || ''',''xxx'');">' Action
         from yyyyy.emp</ORACLE>
    b) In additional pl/sql code section of dynamic page, have the below pl/sql block "in after displaying the header" section.
         declare
         l_sto_session xxxxx.wwsto_api_session;
         l_del_rowid varchar2(20);
         l_action varchar2(10);
         begin
         htp.comment('User code starts here ...');
         htp.p('<script>');
         htp.p('var winHandle;');
         htp.p('
         function doAction(formObj, action, rowid, erowid)
              if (action == "UPD")
              var formURL = "' || xxxxx.wwctx_api.get_proc_path('wwa_app_module.link?p_arg_names=_moduleid&p_arg_values=<<module_id_of_form>>&p_arg_names=_rowid&p_arg_values=') || '" + erowid;
              winHandle = window.open(formURL, "winDynUpd", "width=750,height=500,resizable=yes");
              else
              formObj.p_rowid.value = rowid;
              formObj.p_action.value = action;
              formObj.submit();
         function tWin() {
              if (winHandle.closed) {
              document.location = document.location;
              else {
              setTimeout("tWin()", 500);
         htp.p('</script>');
         htp.p('<form name="dynRowProcess" method="POST" action="'
         || xxxxx.wwctx_api.get_proc_path('save_action_details','yyyyy')
         || '">');
         htp.p('<input type="hidden" name="p_rowid">');
         htp.p('<input type="hidden" name="p_action">');
         htp.p('<input type="hidden" name="p_dyn_ref_path" value="' || p_reference_path || '">');
         htp.p('<input type="hidden" name="p_dyn_page_url" value="' || p_page_url || '">');
         l_sto_session := xxxxx.wwsto_api_session.load_session(
         p_domain => 'DynStore',
         p_sub_domain => 'DynStore_' || p_reference_path
         l_del_rowid := l_sto_session.get_attribute_as_varchar2('rowid');
         l_action := l_sto_session.get_attribute_as_varchar2('action');
         if l_action = 'DEL' then
         delete from yyyyy.emp
         where rowid = l_del_rowid;
         end if;
         end;
    Explaination: The session information (rowid and action) stored by "save_action_details" procedure is retrieved by the dynamic page and is used to delete the record.
    6. Once you are through with the above steps, test it by placing the above "dynamic page" portlet on a page.
    a) When you click on delete button the record gets deleted and the automatically refreshed page will not show the deleted record.
    b) On clicking update button, a form will appear. do the necessary modifications in data and click update. the data in the form gets updated. Once you close the form the dynamic page gets refreshed automatically and it will show you the updated information.

  • How to create a form based on table using dynamic page?

    Hi,
    I need to create a form using dynamic page. How do you pass values from the html form to a oracle procedure that will get executed on submission of the form ? I could not find any documents which shows how to do that. Can anyone please help me out with an example ?
    thanks,
    Mainak

    Hi,
    Something seems to get added to the form action because of "http". Hence I am removing it.
    You need to write a procedure with the values in the as parameters. Say for example you want to insert a record into dept
    table then
    Dynamic page code
    <html>
    <body>
    <form action="portalschema.insert_dept">
    <input type="text" name="p_deptno">
    <input type="text" name="p_dname">
    <input type="submit" name="p_action" value="save">
    </form>
    </body>
    </html>
    Procedure code.
    create or replace procedure insert_dept
    (p_deptno in number,
    p_dname in varchar2,
    p_action in varchar2)
    is begin
    if p_action = 'save' then
    insert into scott.dept(deptno,dname) values(p_deptno,p_dname);
    commit;
    end if;
    end;
    grant execute on insert_dept to public;
    Hope this helps.

  • How to get form fields in a dynamic page as a portlet

    I have a dynamic page(publish as portlet and added to a portal page) with a html form that has many radio button created dynamically (query a table and create as many radio button as records I found) and the name of each radio button is the id of the record from the table it represents.
    When I click the submit button of my form it will recall the same portal page and then I have to check which radio buttons where selected to update the database depending on it.
    The problem is that I can't get the radio buttons inside the dynamic page because they are created dynamically so I can't make them portlet parameters to be associated with page parameters.
    So How can I tell which radio buttons have been selected?
    Please help me.

    Hi,
    Write a procedure which will be called as the form action. This procedure should take an array of parameters like p_arg_names and p_arg_values. For example
    <html>
    <form>
    <input type="checkbox" name="p_radio">
    <input type="checkbox" name="p_radio">
    </form>
    procedure submit_form(p_radio in wwv_utl_api_types.vc_arr)
    begin
    for i in 1..p_radio.count
    loop
    htp.p(p_radio(i));
    end loop;
    wwv_redirect.url(<page_url>);
    end;
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks,

  • Retrieve data from a dynamic page via loadURL

    Hello.
    I would like to ask you how it is possible to retrieve data
    from a dynamic page (asp classic in my case) using the loadURL
    method.
    I would like to create an html authentication form (with
    username and password fields). The loadURL method should call an
    asp page and then pass to the usual function 'DoIfSucceded' the
    results of the elaboration.
    Of course I'm going to have a switch in the function in order
    to make different actions depending from the results of the asp
    page (authentication succeded or failed).
    I had a look to the examples at this page:
    Adobe
    samples
    Is there anyone who can explain clearly how the results data
    must be written by the asp page and how the success function can
    retrieve them ?
    I thank you in advance for your help.

    loadURL() uses the the XMLHttpRequest Object so if the
    content you return is XML, you have 2 choices for accessing your
    data. You can either access it as a text string via the
    XMLHttpRequest object's responseText property, or as a DOM document
    via the XMLHttpRequest object's responseXML property:
    function MySuccessCallback(req)
    // If my data is XML, I can access the data that was sent
    from the server
    // as DOM elements via the XMLHttpRequest's responseXML
    property.
    var xmlDOM = req.xhRequest.responseXML;
    // OR, you can access the data sent back from the server as
    text via
    // the XMLHttpRequest object's responseText property.
    var xmlAsAString = req.xhRequest.responseText;
    var req = Spry.Utils.loadURL("GET",
    "/app/book.php?id=1&code=54321", true, MySuccessCallback);
    If your serverside script wants to use some other format as a
    response like JSON or plain text, then you can only access the data
    as text via the responseText property.

  • Calling a procedure from Dynamic Page

    I am trying to call a procedure from a dynamic page. The procedure displays multi records from a table. I have created a procedure:
    PROCEDURE process_student_request( p_primary_request in wwv_utl_api_types.vc_arr,
    p_alternate_request in wwv_utl_api_types.vc_arr,
    p_action in varchar2,
    l_status in out varchar2);
    When I hit the submit button on the dynamic page it does not execute the procedure and tries to open a new page. How do I get this to work?
    Here is the text of the page:
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Example</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <FORM action="portal30.star_portal.process_student_requests" method="post">
    <TABLE BORDER="0" WIDTH="100%" CELLPADDING="2" CELLSPACING="0" class="RegionBorder">
    <TR>
    <TD valign="top" align="left" width="40%"><FONT class="PortletText1">
    <ORACLE>declare
    row_num number := 1;
    hold_row_num number;
    hold_class_cd stars3.req.class_cd%TYPE;
    begin
    for c1 in (select A.start_yy, A.school, A.student_id, A.class_cd, B.name from stars3.course B, stars3.req A
    where A.student_id = portal30.star_portal.get_session_variable('STUDENT_ID') and A.start_yy = '01' and
    A.alternate_no = '0' and
    B.start_yy = A.start_yy and
    B.school = A.school and
    B.class_cd = A.class_cd)
    loop
    hold_class_cd := c1.class_cd;
    htp.p(lpad(to_char(row_num),2,'0'));
    htp.p('<select name="p_primary_request">');
    htp.p('<option value="' || c1.class_cd|| '">' || c1.name || '</option>');
    row_num := row_num + 1;
    htp.p('<BR>');
    end loop;
    htp.p('<input type="submit" name="p_action">');
    end;
    </ORACLE>
    </BODY>
    </FORM>
    </TD>
    </TR>
    </TABLE>
    </HTML>

    Bob,
    You have variables in your procedure like l_status, p_alternate_status which you do not have in the form. Are these IN or OUT variables ?
    If these are IN variables, this proc will not work because you do not have any variable in the form. So from where does it get the values? There is not any default declared too. You have to explicitly define IN or OUT variables.
    Have you also given execute permission to public ?
