HTML tags in BIP Report

Hi,
I have a BI Report which is based on OBIEE analysis report.
There is one column which contains HTML Data as stored in the database.
This column contains data with "<p>" tags
In the OBIEE analysis, I have converted the data format of this column to 'HTML' and the OBIEE report shows only the text i.e'test data' in this case.
But the BIP report still shows the data in the way the data is stored in the database.
Is there a way in BI Publisher where the data will be changed to normal text rather than HTML?

Hi Avinash,
I tried thesame thing. I am able to see html data n CSV format, and data in xml format
when I select other than these two fotrmats, it is givng error.
Error: The report cannot be rendered because of an error, please contact the administrator.
Thanks.

  • How to use the HTML tags in the reports.

    hi.
can any one tell me how to use the HTML tags in the reports.
    i m using the forms 10 g rel 2 and reports 10 g rel 2 and application server 10g rel 2.

Set the Contains HTML Tags property of an object to Yes, then the tags in the object's text (if any) will be used to format the object.

  • Embedding html tags within a report

I have an interactive report in which I'd like to indicate new table entries.
I have a case statement on a column that checks the date that the entry was added and if it was added recently I concatenate a gif to the column value which indicates "New" entry. This works great in a standard report but when I add the code snippet to an interactive report it displays the html img tag rather than the actual image. Can anyone tell what I need to do to cause the report to render the image rather than just display the html tag?
    Thanks.

    Hello,
In your Report Attributes, make sure that your columns Display Text As is set to Standard Report Column. I expect it's set to display as text?

  • Html tags in oracle reports

If fields of tables in my database contain html tags such as 'H2O' (here is html tag 'sub') or 'sometext'(here is html tag 'b') how can I to make Report Builder 6i to understand these tags? In other words - can Report Builder understand and treat html tags to format output layout?
Or how in another way I can format a part of text inside the field?
    Example:
The below text comes from database and contains html tags.
<B> THIS IS DEMO TEXT TO TEST HTML TAGES IN REPORTS </B>
    <TD ><B><FONT COLOR="#336699" FACE="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" SIZE="2">Technology Centers
    </FONT></B></TD>
    <html><body dir=&Direction bgcolor="#ffffff"> </body></html>
    <html><body dir=&Direction bgcolor="#ffffff">this is test</body></html>

    Hello Learnotd,
Depending on your requirements, you can do one of the following:
    1. In Reports Builder, you can set the default values for the DESFORMAT system parameter to HTML, DESTYPE to FILE and DESNAME to the desired output file name, in the object navigator. Now, running the report will generate it to the HTML file, instead of displaying it in the previewer.
    2. If you are using the command-line executables, 'destype=file' and 'desformat=html' arguments will produce HTML output (using rwcli60, rwcgi60 or rwrun60) to the file specified by desname.
    3. If you calling Reports from Forms, desformat=html should be included in the run_report_object call.
    Thanks,

  • How to exlcude HTML Tags from Excel Reports

    Hi Guys
Within Project Online - OData extract to Excel
Has anyone found a way to eliminate the HTML tags from Multi Line Text fields within Project Server? I can easily extract the text and generate nice Excel Reports, but the html tag is very annoying in the Excel Reports and it doesn't read easily.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Marc Soester [MVP] http://marcsoester.blogspot.com

    Marc,
What you could do (given that you find the required time and energy to write the lines),
would be to replace all (!) html characters like here (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14705605/remove-html-tags-from-cell-strings-excel-formula -
this is one of the Excel UDF/VB-based solutions, but will not refresh in Excel Services - however there is a good list of what to replace) with PowerQuery.
That would refresh over a PowerBI subscription in the least..

  • Escaping HTML tags in Excel report export

    Hello,
I have a classic report on an entry form that allows users to enter any character off the keyboard into a description field. The problem is that when users enter brackets ( greater than , less than ), APEX will handle them as HTML tags ( does not display all the text after the less than character) . I tried to change that column type to "display as text , escape special characters" but that did not help. So I had to user the htf.escape_sc function for that column and the report works just fine.
however, the problem is that none of the solutions above worked for Excel export of that report. Can anybody tell me how to escape such special characters in the excel export of a report ???
    Thanks,
    Sam

Where are the experts! it makes me feel like either no body has had this issue before (which seems odd) or that it is impossible to be resolved. Any suggestions will be appreciated..

  • Html tags within a report link

I have data in a table that looks like this:
This item has a footnote 1
I would like to use this item as the link in a report. When I show it, though, htmldb strips out the and tags. Why?
    Thanks,
    a-

    For readers:
A column selected in a report query was to be formatted by the reporting engine as a link and the column value was to be used as the link text. The data fetched from the column contained HTML. But the HTML part of the column value did not appear in the page as part of the link text while the rest of the column value did appear.
The reason is that the reporting engine explicitly strips HTML from link targets and link text for columns that specify the link formatting option.

    Hi Ram,
You can create a postscript file or a PDF file and give that
to the print shop for printing. It's pretty easy. Go to the File
menu, choose Generate to File, and then choose Postscript or PDF.
Note that Reports will use the driver for the printer to which
you are connected at the time you generate the file. You may have
to do some tests to make sure that that printer driver is
compatible with that of the print shop. I would generate a test
file from Reports and see if it works with their printer.

  • HTML tags in Report

    Hi,
I am trying to create a report using APEX. I am using a word template - report layout. but some of the columns does have html tags in the data itself. (eg <b> etc) How can I get to display this in my report.
Also for some Fields I am using the Old English Text font we have in Word. But when it comes to display the report in PDF those special fonts are displayed as ordinary ones. any IDea how to get this working?
    Thanks
    Meenu

    Hi Meenu,
This is the same problem as in another thread where you replied. I don't have an answer yet. The problem is probably due to the html data is rendered when you show it in a browser but doesn't get rendered when printing in pdf (by BI Publisher).
    I see some possibilities:
    - call a function in plsql that transforms your html to xml and sent that to BIP
    - configure BIP so that it gets rendered correctly
I don't have the answer right now. I hope Marc can answer it before, otherwise I'll investigate it in a week.

    AND otu.DOCUMENT_TYPE NOT IN ('RFQ_RESPONSE', 'RFQ','RFI_RESPONSE','RFI','AUCTION_RESPONSE','AUCTION')

  • Help needed in formating the text using HTML tags in reports 10g

    Hi all,
I have a situation here. We have an application which prints out Reports with a few lines of text in it. This text is entered by the user through our forms application in a field. That particular text is stored in each row of a particular long column. Here I want to modify the text, while printing, on the report like underline, bold, italics etc,.
As of now I am using the HTML tags, in the forms, to do so as most the times the text in the report is same.
I want to know if this can be done by the user itself while he is entering the data in the field through the form.
Thanks in advance . I will explain you more clearly if you need.

    Hi,
Go to report attribute page and select that column and "Standard Report Column" in "Display As".
You can show the html tag in report.

  • When Exported in PDF reports displays HTML Tags

    Hi All,
    Business Object XI R2
    WebI Report
I am Reporting on Oracle CLOBs. This CLOB contains Data with HTML Tags, Clearly this CLOB is the combination of DATA formatted in HTML tags.
When I create a WebI Reports on this (CLOB) WebI displays correctly in the sence data only.
When I export this report to PDF; The PDF display contains both data with HTML tags as well.
Is there any solution/workaround or any setting in the BO Server to overcome/solve this issue.
    Appreciated you prompt help.
    Thanks,
    Ashok

    Christine,
My question is wether Adobe support CLOBs or not.
I was reported on oracle CLOBs (This CLOBs contains data wrapped in HTML tags), by using Business Object Web Intelligence. This WebI displaying the reports as I desire, there is no problem, in WebI. WebI displaying data with no HTML Tags.
My problem is that when I export this WebI report, this Adobe is getting HTML tags, why? Since this WebI is not displaying the HTML tags, since adobe does not know wether there is a HTML tags or not.
    Apprecited your prompt reply.

  • Interactive Report with html tags --- Data saved in Excel with html tags

    Hello,
I am using APEX 4.0. I have an interactive report that displays some of the columns bold and / or colors using html tags. As an example,
    SELECT
    '''<font color="green"><b>'' || SERIAL_NUMBER || ''</b></font>'' SERIAL_NUMBER,'||chr(10)||
    'PRODUCT_NAME,'||chr(10)||
    '''<font color="teal"><b>'' || PRODUCT_DESC || ''</b></font>'' DESC,'||chr(10)||
    'QUANTITY,'||chr(10)||
    FROM
    <Table name>
At runtime, the Interactive Report displays the fonts, colors correctly; however, when I save the data of the Interactive Report in an Excel format, it saves the Html tags along in the EXCEL spreadsheet. For example, the column serial number from the above SELECT statement is extracted in an Excel column as ---
    <font color="green"><b>123456789</b></font>
Is there another way to render the column data so that extracted data will not display the HTML tags or is removing the html font color tags from the SELECT statement the only option?
    Thanks in advance.
