HTML5 Video overlaps scroll bar & Addon-Bar

Example Page: [http://html5demos.com/video]
Resize the window to cause the bottom half of the video to be off-screen (just drag the corner of the window). The video area will overlap the horizontal scroll bar (and also the Add-on Bar if displayed).
See Image: [http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/2469/glitchuc.jpg]
The issue does not occur if the video is scrolled into position; only if the window is resized to cover part of the video. Issue consistently remains on a fresh profile, no plugins, reset toolbars, etc.
Disabling "Use Hardware Acceleration" eliminates the issue (as does Safe Mode, which also disables hardware acceleration I believe).

Issue gone after Firefox 4.0b9 update.

  • How do I lock the scroll bar on, keeping valid HTML5?

    I have a site that was originally created in FrontPage some years ago, and I have now redone it using Muse (not before time, I hear you say!)
    There were several pages on the site where the content was not large enough to need to be scrolled on most displays, and some browsers removed the scroll bar from the right of the page when those pages were visited. This resulted in a shift to the right on those pages, which made all the fixed elements move on the screen when going between pages, which I found very annoying.
    I fixed it by adding this code to the pages in question -
    <style type="text/css">
    /* Force Right Scrollbar */
    html { overflow-y : scroll; }
    </style>
    This worked fine and locked the scroll bar on, and I wanted to do the same with the Muse version of the site.
    I have added the same code using the add HTML feature, and it still works fine.
    However, if I run any of the pages concerned through a validator, I get the error -
    Validation Output: 1 Error
    Line 23, Column 28: Element style is missing required attribute scoped.
         <style type="text/css">
    I tried to find out why this was, but all I found was a lot of standards documents which were mostly way over my head!
    So, is there any modification I can do to that code to get it through the validator, or do I need to look at a different method of locking the scroll bar on on my web pages?
    Thanks for any and all suggestions!
    Dave.

    Thanks very much jgrummel and Vikas.Sharma!
    Sorry for the delay in responding.
    I have now added "scoped="scoped"" to the code, and the validater (http://validator.w3.org) is now showing just a warning rather than an error.
    "Line 23, Column 44: The scoped attribute on the style element is not supported by browsers yet. It would probably be better to wait for implementations.
         <style type="text/css" scoped="scoped">"
    I'm not too worrid about that, as it is still passing it!
    The code is inserted on the master page of my site, so it presumably propagates through to all the pages, including those that don't need it, but this doesn't seem to cause any problem.

  • I would like to know it it's possible to change the scroll bar from the right part of the firefox browser, to the left part and, if it's possible, how can it be done. Thank you!

    The scroll bar (the one used to scroll up and down any kind of website), that is normally in the right part of the firefox browser, would be of much help to me if it could sometimes be moved to the left part of the browser. Is this possible? How can it be done? Can anybody tell me the exact steps to take in order to do this (if it is possible of course)? This would be helpfull to me, since I think that the firefox scroll bar is overlaping the scroll part of the facebook chat sidebar, since I just can see a few people on this facebook chat sidebar and I can´t scroll along it, as I could a while ago. So my guess is that the firefox scroll bar is covering the other. In order to solve it in a simpler way, I guessed that if the firefox scroll bar could be moved to the left side of the browser, this problem could be solved. So, can anybody help me?

    http://kb.mozillazine.org/layout.scrollbar.side
    Type '''about:config''' in Location (address) bar
    filter for '''layout.scrollbar.side'''
    Right-click the Preference and Modify it to '''3'''
    You may need to reload any pages open to have scrollbar move to left after Preference change.

  • Unwanted hor-scroll bars in IE

    Hello all,
    I have designed a web page in Dreamweaver MX using frames
    (3-T,L,C) when I view it in Firefox scroll bars appear on the right
    side, which is correct, but when I view it in IE scroll bars appear
    on the right AND the bottom, even thow there is nothing to scroll
    left or right too.
    I have tried the scrolling="no", resizing the frames, etc. My
    video size is 1024x768, but the HTML file is only 800 wide, which
    should fit no problem in 1024.
    Also, I only get the hor-scroll bar when there is a right
    scroll bar. In other words, if what I have on a page is longer than
    the page, a right scroll bar appears, along with a bottom one. Very
    bizzare!!
    Any ideas how to get rid of the bottom scroll bar in IE?
    Much appreciated.

    Without checking too deeping, I believe it could be because
    your header is
    around the 800px width. So when you resize the window to
    about 800*600 you
    get a scroll in the bottom area to match the width at the
    top. Even though
    that bottom frame may not be as wide at the top, the browser
    has to take
    into account all the widths of the page elements.

  • How can I get the scroll bars to be more visible/contrasting?

    The scroll bars are difficult for me to differentiate from their background. Can I change their colour or darkness to make them more visible?

    Firefox uses the native scroll bars by default.<br />
    You can try to select another window theme in your Linux distribution that has better scroll bar appearance or see if installing a Firefox theme helps.

  • How do I view the Horizontal Scrolling bar and status bar at the bottom of the screen. I can only see the top menus, toolbars and vertical scroll bar?

    Before the most recent upgrade, the bottom horizontal scrolling bar and status bar appeared on my screen. Now since upgrading, I cannot see the. Anyone ideas how to restore them?

    If you haven't already, you could force-quit Quicktime by using the menu option from the desktop (finder) and choose Quicktime.
    Not sure what you have frozen on the screen, be it a failed movie, or some unusual screen shot. If you can find by date (created) you may be able to look for .mov or quicktime suffix name or other video file content to delete it.
    And you may have to restart your computer and perhaps run repair disk permissions from Disk Utility's first aid on the hard disk drive in your computer.
    Not sure if all that would help now, but it is something a few days late...!
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Scroll Bars in Desktop Output

    Am I missing something, or shouldn't there be scroll bars in the desktop output for multiscreen HTML5 in RH10?
    I have a few longer topics that don't fully display, and there is no way to scroll down on the desktop (can't use the mouse wheel, arrow keys, or scroll bars (as there aren't any)). The way I found to scroll down on the desktop output version is to highlight the text and drag down, but that isn't going to work.

    Because the overflow is different, in SharePoint (native output only) some text may be hidden. But you will have to publish to SharePoint to know for sure. It's just that I do not guarantee that this fix works on SharePoint.

  • Scroll Bars in Table Control

    Hi,
    How do I remove the vertical and horizontal scroll bars in the table control? I would like to use the Pg Up/Down buttons instead.
    Thanks,
    Mounika.

    Mounika,
    You can add or remove the scroll bar in the table control by switching off horizontal and vertical scrolling in the properties of the table control. The properties can be accessed from the screen painter by double clicking on the table control. Regarding the page up and page down functions, I believe you add those buttons in the screen layout and code for them. You can use the standard function code for the page up and page down functions.
    Regarding the Page up Page down...You need to add some extra code in your program to activvate that. Check the following program for example.
    DEMO_DYNPRO_TABCONT_LOOP_AT
    or try something like this
    try something like:
    CASE sy-ucomm.
    WHEN 'P+' OR
    'P++' OR
    'P-' OR
    'P--'
    CALL FUNCTION 'SCROLLING_IN_TABLE'
    EXPORTING
    entry_act = tc-top_line
    entry_to = tc-lines
    last_page_full = 'X'
    loops = loops
    ok_code = sy-ucomm
    overlapping = 'X'
    IMPORTING
    entry_new = tc-top_line
    EXCEPTIONS
    no_entry_or_page_act = 1
    no_entry_to = 2
    no_ok_code_or_page_go = 3
    OTHERS = 4
    ENDCASE   .
    Hope this helps

  • Scroll bar and tab bar turn to images, images on a page repeat themselves

    I don't know exactly how to explain my problem so I'll just give some examples.
    - On youtube, video thumbnails copy themselves on top of the other video thumbnails, and sometimes I can see 2 or 3 same thumbnail, but when I hover the cursor above them they return to normal. The names or video links are unaffected, just the thumbnail.
    - On facebook and some other forums, same problem exists. One thing I noticed, it doesn't affect huge files, as in it doesn't replace huge images but copies something like 200x200 image to some other place.
    - Some of the tabs in tab bar and scroll bar sometimes turn into diagonal patterns, and scroll bar sometimes has the same problem I gave as example above. The grey default layer turns into an image. But hovering the cursor above it returns it to normal again.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi, thanks a lot for the support. I've found the solution!
    I've checked all of the installed programs on my system. All programs are from verified publishers.
    Actual problem was with graphic drivers. My laptop is Sony Vaio and therefore I had the recommended latest drivers (for my graphic card) available from Sony website installed. The graphic card is from NVIDIA GeForce. So, don't know why but I uninstalled all graphic drivers from the system and downloaded the latest drivers available for my graphic card hardware from NVIDIA website. Now the new latest drivers from NVIDIA solved the problem !!! Firefox is working perfect. No problem on any website.
    May be the same can work for other Firefox users also having this problem. No need to disable "hardware acceleration when available" in Firefox.
    Happy !!!! :D :D

  • [SOLVED] Giving Firefox an infinite vertical scroll bar

    I recently reinstalled Arch after having a really difficult time with the move of binaries to /usr/bin
    There's one nagging issue after reinstalling, and I can't seem to find anything about it here. In Firefox, the vertical scrollbar on the right hand side of the screen doesn't meet the edge of the screen like it did before. What I mean is that I have to back up my cursor a pixel or two from the edge of the screen to hit the scroll bar. This behavior is frustrating, because it's so much easier to be able to just throw your cursor to the edge and click.
    I thought that this behavior might be controlled by GTK2 theme, but I haven't been able to find any themes that behave this way. Does anybody have an idea of what's going on here? My window manager is Openbox.

    I was able to resolve this issue by switching Firefox to the "Littlefox complete theme". Thanks dag!
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo … or-firefox
    So this problem seems to have something to do with the default Firefox theme. This whole issue is one of those things that many people might not outright notice, but once you're aware of it drives you mad. Such a little thing but such a huge effect on usability. Here's another discussion about it if anybody finds it interesting

  • Mobile vertical scroll bar in Responsive Theme header

    This may be a simple resolution; however, after several searches on this forum, I am unable to find the answer.
    I am using RH 11 with HTML5 (version 11.0.3.268).
    While generating the HTML5 Help, the vertical scroll bar present in the Responsive Theme header was successfully resolve for desktop and tablet.  However, the vertical scroll bar is present in mobile.  Could someone please tell me how this can be resolved?
    Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

    How long is your project title? If your title is long and you are using browse sequences, the header may need to scroll to fit everything.
    Kind regards,

  • How to fix double vertical scroll bar in responsive output

    After implementing the solution provided for the question 'Responsive HTML5 Output: How to auto adjust the screen resolution for all devices?', the function bar in output does not appear and also another vertical scroll bar in the output. I edited the max-width value in the layoutfix.min.css file and fixed the function bar issue. How can I do away with the additional vertical scroll bar?

    I've looked into the issue.
    @Delennish: In your case, the size of the iframe is too large, or you have an extra empty element below the iframe. You can try 2 things:
    1. Best solution but may have side effects: In the main.css, add the following code:
    div.contentholder { overflow: hidden !important;}
    For this option, please check for undesired side effects.
    2. Works, but is ugly: In the main.css, add the following code:
    div.floatholder iframe.wTopic { height: 95% !important;}
    Try playing with the height setting until the 2nd scrollbar disappears.
    @CarolW: The layout you're using is very old. I've made a new responsive layout with TOC only. Please use that one instead: http://www.wvanweelden.eu/sites/default/files/attachments/Theme1_Standard_TOC_Only.zip (I'll update my site with this new version later.)

  • Horizontal scroll bar in bookmarks manager

    FF 29.0.1 win7x64
