Http POST question
I am new to this but, I am trying to post XML data to a http adapter using a XMLHTTP object (in either an ASP file or vbscript) and i keep getting a 'Start of root element expected'. Does anyone know of any examples so that I can see where i am going wrong.

Thanks for the response it was actually the firewall that was causing the issue i disabled it and was able to communicate with phone's web server
Anyway i was able to send a POST to the phone's web server and also got a 200 OK response for it with an xml body as . But the XML object that
i added to the POST is not getting displayed on the phone. The following is the POST request i had sent to the ip phone

Submitting a PDF form via HTTP Post: Beginner's Questions

I am completely new to PDF forms, so I have been finding the documentation and options overwhelming.
I am hoping to get pointed to the documentation/tutorials/examples I really need.
I would like to build a "proof of concept" for my boss. I would like to include a screen in our Java ( JSP & Spring ) webapp where either a PDF form is embedded or is accessed via a link.

I made a small, 3 field Microsoft Word form. I then converted it via DIstiller into a PDF form.
I then found this document about how to submit a PDF form to a server side component:

My big problem with this document it doesn't have an example nor an example showing what is going on in a full HTML page. As I result I have some questions:
Can I see such an example somewhere?
Does the call to the javascript function doc.SubmitForm(urlToMyServerSideComponent) go in a script tag on the HTML page like other javascripts?
Can I execute that submit function from an HTML button or do I need to put a "submit" button on the PDF form?
Do I need Adobe LiveCycle in order to create a PDF form with a "submit" button? Free versions?
Can I send via HTTP POST ?
Do I need Adobe LiveCycle to crate a PDF form with a digital signature?
Is there a document/tutorial that fits where I am starting off from? ( Please no books, I am tyring to show my boss that this is something that can be done, in a reasonable amount of time, not time to get and go through a book ).

SteveTo answer some of your specific questions:
2, 3. The submit form button needs to be on the PDF. You can either configure a Submit Form action or use the submitForm JavaScript method.
4, 6: No to both questions. You can create the form in Acrobat. Such forms are knows as Acroforms, as opposed to XFA forms that are created with LiveCycle Designer. Acroforms have wider support.
5: Yes, that's the method that's used when submitting to a web server. You have your choice of formats. The "HTML Form" option causes the form data to be submitted in the same format as an HTML form, so the same type of server-side code can be used to process the data. As Dave's tutorial shows, the server should return an FDF as the response, however, as opposed to HTML content.
It's a mistake to try to embed the PDF in a web page. So much depends on the user's browser, PDF viewer, and how both are configured. PDF forms can be submitted directly from Adobe Reader/Acrobat, so it's not necessary for them to be viewed in a browser. Note that Adobe Reader for iOS/Android don't yet support submitting to a web server (apart from FormsCentral), but that's is supposedly being worked on.
Since you mentioned digital signatures, be aware that for Reader users to be able to sign, the document has to be Reader-enabled, either with Acrobat Pro or LiveCycle Reader Extensions (which is not the same as LiveCycle Designer). Digital signatures in PDF forms are not yet supported on mobile devices. Also, you will want to submit the entire PDF, as opposed to just the form data, when submitting a digitally signed form. -
Beginner question: support to HTTP POST om Oracle AS

I don't know if this is a suitable forum but since i use JDeveloper and Oracle BPEL I'll try my luck here :).
I have a Java web application built in JDeveloper and a couple of BPEL processes.
In these processes I use Java embedding (a piece of Java code) that opens a connection to a given URL and post a XML message to this URL. I didn't have much problems creating these processes.
Now I have to provide a support to HTTP POST on my side. Since web application and services development are quite new to me I hope someone can point me the right way to do this. The requirements I have are: I can have a single URL to which the http POSTs will be issued.
If I understand correctly I cant use a web service since I have to enable different types of XML posts. What are my options? Can I create some kind of listener for http POSTs? Can I create a jspx that will 'wait' for http posts and than call some of mine BPEL processes? Is there a way to create a BPEL process that 'waits' for http POSTs? Are there other options.
I'd really appreciate any pointers on this.

Should I create a jspx page with form node that has method attribute set to POST or maybe I don't even need a web page? I already have a login page that has a form with method set to POSt, will this pose any kind of troubles for me?
I apologize for any stupid questions but as I said I have no experience in doing this and las couple of days I'm searching and reading different documentation on this topic so any more pointers would be appreciated.

Not able to send message - http post from MII 12.1.4.53 to PI 7.1

The question isNOT ABOUT the format of the URL which MII should use.
Using the same URL we are able to post the message from other MII versions with in the landscape( MII version 12.1.6 and MII version12.1.9) and through SOAP UI.
500 Internal server error Problem arises when the message is sent through the same URL from MII 12,1.4 Build(53) to PI 7.1 ( we tried https Post, XI Webservice, WebService action blocks)
Question:
Are thre any configuration settings specific to MII version12.1.4 Build 53 which needds to be set in MII to communicate to PI 7.1.

Get file from HTTP POST (upload image)
Hello,
I would like to integrate http://www.plupload.com flash component to my APEX 4.1 website. I need it because I want to resize image and transform image before upload on client side, upload multiple files etc..
But I don't know how to read image binary data from POST method.
When I hit "Start upload" button on plupload component it makes some transformations and creates POST method like this:

here are my two cents ...
this will be a bit difficult. When you use the standard APEX File upload it is not PL/SQL handling the POST request. The request is handled by the webserver - depending on the variant you are using it is either mod_plsql, the C code of the Embedded Gateway or the APEX Listener. The webserver is also doint the insert into APEX' file repository. So I see two options:
It might be possible to configure your plugin (don't know about it) the behave the same as a standard browser upload. Then for APEX there would be no difference - mod_plsql should handle the files accordingly.
If you want to handle the POST request yourself, as said, you can't do this in PL/SQL. It would be possible to write a Java servlet doing this and deploy that servlet on the same container as the APEX Listener (when using Apache with mod_plsql you would need an additional Java server for that) ....

I am working on an integration where cXML from the Partner will be posted to SOA and from SOA another HTTP post to end partner. its basically

I have cXML its in dtd format which i have converted to Native format using file-adapter and added namespace schema. so My question is while cXML is post to SOA i have added namespace schema and consumed it to my BPEL, while it leaves out Partner2 through HTTP post again the namespace should be removed and sent to partner 2. Dynamic Header during HTTP post.

Is there any option to pass source filename which is going to be dynamic(ie any text file with any name ) as a header in HTTP post to a URL?
To be more clear on my question I am doing a File to HTTP scenario.In the source directory any text file with any name will be kept.I have to pick that file and then when i do an HTTP post at the target along with other static headers(which i can hard code with the header fields option in the receiver communication channel) i have to pass the source filename also as a header.Is it possible by any way.please remember that at the source we are having a text file which contains no structure.

My question - how will the encoding of xml change to - when 8 bit binary data

could anyone clarify this for me.The first thing you need to do is clear up some fundamental misconceptions about character encodings. UTF-8 is not the same thing as "7-bit ASCII", and UTF-16 is not the same as "Unicode". Anyway, you're making this a lot more difficult than it needs to be. Just use UTF-8 to encode and decode all messages; it can handle all the characters from any language you're likely to run into.

Initiating an HTTPS post via Oracle Forms 6i

Here is my problem. I would love some advise/next steps on solving it.
We are currently using web-version of Forms 6i with the JInitiator 1.1.8.16. I have a new requirement for an existing form where it needs to initiate an HTTPS "post" (not "get") to a remote server and then receive a response of success or not and some other information that the form will then act upon. I believe this means I cannot simply use the "web.show_document" built-in because it uses the "get" method rather than the "post" method.
Although I am a veteran Forms developer, I am new to all this java stuff. It has been recommended to me that I incorportate a JavaBean into the form to call on this remote service, but I have no idea what that means -- I've never opened JDeveloper. It was also mentioned that maybe there is already a JavaBean in existence that I can just use. I don't know what details of my situation would be useful to know to determine if one exists or not. Does this possibly existing JavaBean need to know already which URL I want to go to? Will it need to know the exact parameters I want to pass or could there be a JavaBean out there to simply "call any URL using the post method" regardless of the number of parameters to send it?
I've looked through some of the forum for this question and since I'm clueless on java stuff, I didn't find anything that jumped out as an answer for me. Can someone (or many of you would be fine) clue me on the best approach? Thanx.
Shane.Since the initial post above, I've discovered more to this situation that doesn't give me much hope of implementation.
The "response" that I get back from the remove service is simply a "redirect" telling the initiating browser to go to a URL that I have to set up. When the response comes back, the remote service will tell the browser to go to this redirected URL with the "responses" as parameters in the URL resulting in the user's browser calling this "redirect" URL with a "get" method.
Not sure what all that means to be honest, but am wanting to learn.

In my Flex program, I am trying to find a way to listen for an incoming HTTP POST message - something with functionality similar to that of the HttpListener class in C#. I have not been able to find anything at all to help with this though, would anyone know of something like this?

I have a scenario that consists of a RFC that will pass the parameters to XI and then, i've to map the parameters of this RFC into a XML message, zip this xml message, convert it to BASE 64 string, post this "binary" message thru HTTP POST and finally, send the XML HTTP response back to my RFC .
My questions are:
- How to map the RESPONSE of the http request to my RFC?
- How to deal with the transformations of the data, from xml to zip and from zip to a base64 string.
- How to set the URL of the HTTP POST dynamically?

hmmm.. Maybe a Java Mapping?

Either Java Mapping or a Java Proxy.

I am using a HTTP Post Action in BLS - Vs 11.5.
The objective is to return a HTTP string from a jsp page, so I can scrap the page.
The URL: http://mospublic.ercot.com/ercot/jsp/balancing_services_mcp.jsp?marketdate=2008-06-16 (obviously you might have to change the date to Yesterdays Date)
I have set up the HTTP Post Action with
URL Address of: http://mospublic.ercot.com/ercot/jsp/balancing_services_mcp.jsp
Post Document: marketdate=2008-06-16
Encoding: UTF-8
ID and Password are provided
Content Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
Post_0.ReturnAsString comes back with typical HTML content for Today's Date.
Testing has shown that on a fresh IE window. Using the above url will show today's data.
Hitting this url again the second time will get the browser to yesterday's data.
So any suggestions on how to make this happen.
(btw, I have no control over the external public ERCOT website so changing thier jsp page isn't an option.)
Anyway we could emulate that action in BLS - v11.5?
