HTTP POST to hide password in  6i rel.8

We are attempting to automatically authenticate using an external LDAP and we need to have the user credentials passed to Forms and logon without the user/password displaying on the URL or in the HTML source.
Our version and patchset are capable (according to documentation), and all appears to be configured correctly, but when doing an HTTP POST with the userid as hidden variables, it doesn't work and the jserv.log get an error written to it as follows:
(ERROR) ajp12: Servlet Error: POST is not supported by this URL
Please help me. Thanks!

Yes, but it does not work.

    I can no longer hide my passwords - under toolbar/options/security. They continually all show up and I'm afraid someone else may be able to see them as well. The option to hide passwords no longer appears.

    Are you using a master password?

    On ECC 6.0, I have an XMLstring that I need to post to an external URL.  I need this to go through XI.  It is actually an HTTPS post.  How can this be accomplished?  Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as how this would work in XI?  Here is a smippet of code on ECC

    Hi Tony,
    You need to go through multiple steps.
    1) Creation of Scenario in XI ( Integration Repository)
         First create datatype which will represent the data that is to be passed to URL. Then message type, message interface, message mapping, Interface mapping.
    2) Creation of Directory scenario ( Integration Directory)
         Need to create Communication channel using either SOAP adapter or HTTP adapter as you need to pass the data to url.
    3) Proxy:
       Once you create first step then structure will be available in proxy ( SPROXY transaction) . There you will need to call method for outbound proxy.
    For above mentioned steps you can search in SDN which will guide you to multiple helping thread.

  • HTTP Post in HTTP adapter

    Hi,
    We are developing one interface in which sender Torex system sends message in "HTTP Post" format.
    In this sender application wants the url in following format.
    http://server:port/sap/xi/adapter_plain?service=<xxx>&namespace=<xxx>&interface=<xxx>&sap-user=<xxx>&sap-password=<xxx>&qos=BE&ProductID=000000000000000216&uid=500014&deviceID=0725&StoreID=0004
    In above "HTTP Post" format data has been sent in url without body of message.
    I know the option in below blog.
    https://weblogs.sdn.sap.com/pub/wlg/13639
    But is there any other solution for this?
    xml payload for above message is as below.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:interface xmlns:ns0="namespace">
       <ProductID>000000000000000216</ProductID>
       <UID/>
       <DeviceID/>
       <StoreID>0004</StoreID>
    </ns0:ExternalStockLocator_Retail_REQ>
    Thanks

    Hello,
    http://server:port/sap/xi/adapter_plain?service=<xxx>&namespace=<xxx>&interface=<xxx>&sap-user=<xxx>&sap-password=<xxx>&qos=BE&ProductID=000000000000000216&uid=500014&deviceID=0725&StoreID=0004
    In above "HTTP Post" format data has been sent in url without body of message.
    Please remember that when creating a sender/receiver using the Plain HTTP Adapter, the following are automatically filled out
    Transport Protocol: HTTP 1.0, Message Protocol: XI Payload in HTTP Body. The transport protocol means that only HTTP 1.0 is supported and that for it to work, an HTTP Body is required.
    Hope this helps,
    Mark

  • Manual HTTP POST from ABAP

    I'm trying to use a kind of botched web service implementation that doesn't come with a WSDL file - so, no generated proxy for me to use. It also needs me to send an XML file via an HTTP POST - not in a SOAP envelope. This presents a problem for me - understandably, this isn't part of WebAS 6.40's web services stuff.
    Does anyone know of a way of manually posting something via HTTP in ABAP? I'm sure there must be some function module or class that exposes that functionality - I just can't find it! Any ideas anyone?

  • Remove charset=utf-8 from HTTP POST

    I'm trying to do a HTTP POST via ABAP.  The application that I'm posting to does not like the "charset=utf-8" that is in the request.  I've been told that I need to remove it.  Does anyone know how to do this?  I'm not setting this field.  SAP is adding this charset automatically.
    Here is the request:
    POST /hapld/tos/kdwhapltos HTTP/1.1
    content-type: multipart/mixed; boundary=BOUNDARY; charset=utf-8
    content-length: 2018

    I had a similar problem and could resolve it by using APPEND_DATA instead of APPEND_CDATA. Likewise, SET_DATA instead of SET_CDATA might solve the issue for you. The data has to be provided as binary data then.

  • Discoverer URL - Hide password without having to use public connection

    Hi,
    I would like to call Discoverer Viewer without having to expose the schema password and without having to use public connections. Is this possible? Disco Viewer is called directly from my application, with custom authorization and authentication. I do not want to expose reports to the public by creating public connections.
    TIA.
    Tamas

    Hi,
    If you use an HTTP Post in your application to pass the viewer URL to the Discoverer server then you can supply the password as a hidden input that will not be visible to the users.

  • How to receive XML from Flex HTTP POST

    Hi,
    We curreontly have a setup where we have a FLEX frontend send an XML through a HTTP POST and awaiting a response also in XML. On the backend this is handled relatively simply by a PHP script that basically does the following:
    read data (in XML)from FlEX HTTP POST into a new temp XML file.
    execute a c++ program with the XML file as one of the parameter.
    return the result to FLEX
    We have decided to move to BlazeDS for various reasons.
    Looking at the examples bundled with BlazeDS they have a jsp example that returns an XML result to FLEX so that part is fine. I am trying to find an example of JSP (or Servlet) that is able to read the XML data from FLEX and write it into a temp XML file. I would then try to use runtime.exec to invoke a local C++ program to process the XML file the result of which will be sent back to FLEX.
    Any help will be very much appreciated!

  • HTTP Post Action Block

    Greetings all,
    I am using a HTTP Post Action in BLS - Vs 11.5.
    The objective is to return a HTTP string from a jsp page, so I can scrap the page.
    The URL:  http://mospublic.ercot.com/ercot/jsp/balancing_services_mcp.jsp?marketdate=2008-06-16   (obviously you might have to change the date to Yesterdays Date)
    I have set up the HTTP Post Action with
    URL Address of:   http://mospublic.ercot.com/ercot/jsp/balancing_services_mcp.jsp
    Post Document:   marketdate=2008-06-16
    Encoding: UTF-8
    ID and Password are provided
    Content Type:   application/x-www-form-urlencoded
    Post_0.ReturnAsString comes back with typical HTML content for Today's Date.
    Testing has shown that on a fresh IE window.  Using the above url will show today's data.
    Hitting this url again the second time will get the browser to yesterday's data.
    So any suggestions on how to make this happen.
    (btw, I have no control over the external public ERCOT website so changing thier jsp page isn't an option.)
    Anyway we could emulate that action in BLS - v11.5?
    Thanks
    Dennis

  • HTTP POST Request with XML file in

    Hi @ all,
    I would like to send an HTTP Request with an XML File in the body to an SAP System
    I have the target URL and the a XML File.
    Now the question is. Is it possible to use something like the HTTP_POST FuBa to send an url post request with an xml file?
    If yes can anybody give me a hint?
    I have a php script which exactly do this coding. But to integrate it all in one system it is necessary to transform it into ABAP and call it there.
    // compose url and request and call send function
    function test($productID, $categoryID) {
         // create url
         $PIhost = "XXX.wdf.sap.corp";
         $PIport = "50080";
         $PIurl = "/sap/xi/adapter_plain";
         $PIurl .= "?sap-client=800";
         $PIurl .= "&service=XXX";
         $PIurl .= "&namespace=XXX";
         $PIurl .= "&interface=Frontend_Interface";
         $PIurl .= "&qos=EO";
         $PIurl .= "&sap-user=XXX";
         $PIurl .= "&sap-password=XXX";
         // create xml
         $request = "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?>\n";
         $request .="<n1:FrontendInbound_MessageType xmlns:n1=\"http://crmpiebay.com\">\n";
         $request .= "\t<FrontendInbound>\n";
         $request .= "\t\t<ProductName/>\n";
         $request .= "\t\t<ProductCategory>".$categoryID."</ProductCategory>\n";
         $request .= "\t\t<ProductID>".$productID."</ProductID>\n";
         $request .= "\t\t<MessageID/>\n";
         $request .= "\t</FrontendInbound>\n";
         $request .= "</n1:FrontendInbound_MessageType>";
         // send http request
         postToHost($PIhost, $PIport, $PIurl, $_SERVER["SERVER_NAME"].":".$_SERVER["SERVER_PORT"]."/".$_SERVER["PHP_SELF"], $request);
    // send post request to PI server
    function postToHost($host, $port, $path, $referer, $data_to_send) {
      $fp = fsockopen($host, $port);
      if($fp) {
           $res="";
           fputs($fp, "POST $path HTTP/1.1\r\n");
           fputs($fp, "Host: $host\r\n");
           fputs($fp, "Referer: $referer\r\n");
           fputs($fp, "Content-type: text/plain\r\n");
           fputs($fp, "Content-length: ". strlen($data_to_send) ."\r\n");
           fputs($fp, "Connection: close\r\n\r\n");
           fputs($fp, $data_to_send);
           while(!feof($fp)) {
               $res .= fgets($fp, 128);
           fclose($fp);
           return $res;
    Would be great if anybody could give me a hint how to solve such a HTTP Post request with XML body data.
    Thanks in advance.

    hi friend could you please share your solution regarding this query if u got it already?

  • Java and Http posting through Peoplesoft.

    Hello everyone, not sure if you can help, but any input or ideas would be appreciated because I ran out of ideas.
    I created a java file that connects to a xyhtos server (WebDAV connection). The reason of this project is to be able to upload files to the xythos repository via peoplesoft pages. Uploading the files is fine and works great.
    My problem is getting a ticket from it. (A ticket is a string that is appended in the url of the document that is being requested without having the user login to xythos). To get such ticket I need to send login information to the server via a post method. The userid/password needs to be sent through a string that is base64Encode.
    When I execute this method the xythos server does not receive login information.
    Now here is the strange part, if I execute the same Java program from a Unix command line, with the same parameters, it performs beautifully.
    I'm wondering if there is something extra that I need to do when running this java program through PIA. Or if the peoplesoft server needs to be configured a certain way to allow such methods.
    If you need me to be more specific or anything that could help you help me, please post. I'm desperate.
    Thank you.

    HI Jim, thank you for replying.
    Unfortunately I can't tell exactly how it's posting because I'm using a package created by another department I work with. If I need to upload a file, delete a file, create directories, all of that is fine. The only trouble is requesting a ticket from xythos. I think for that function it is doing an http post, but not positive. The response I get from the server is
    <html><title>Error 401</title><body>
    Error: 401
    <BR><H1>Forbidden</H1><BR>That action is not authorized. Please ensure that you are authenticated.<BR>
    <p><p></p></p>
    </body></html>
    I just don't understand why through the command line of unix it works and PIA it doesn't. Very strange.

  • Kerberos Ticket via Java to BW to access BW Querys with HTTP POST

    Hi and thanks for reading,
    im Working with 2004 and the NWDS SP10. We have a project which must show some reports from the HR system via backend and some BW Reports done with Web Application Designer 3.5.
    The user of the project application is able to select personnel numbers or org units in a tree UI element. At design time we do not know hwo many of each he might select (could be a couple of hundreds or even more).
    A URL isn't long enough to support our needs (255 characters border)
    A consultant said that we should use HTTP Post with a Form. He gave me an example like this
    <HTML>
    <BODY>
    <form name="querySelektion" action="<system name>" method="POST">
              <input type="submit" value="Formular senden" />
              <!-- Template Parameter -->
              <input name="SAP-LANGUAGE" type="hidden" value="D" />
              <input name="PAGENO" type="hidden" value="1" />
              <input name="CMD" type="hidden" value="LDOC" />
              <input name="TEMPLATE_ID" type="hidden" value="Z_TEST_AX" />
              <!-- Selektionsparameter -->
              <input name="var_name_1" type="hidden" value="H1_ORGST" /></td>
              <input name="VAR_NODE_IOBJNM_1" type="hidden" value="0ORGUNIT" />
              <input name="var_value_ext_1" type="hidden" value="50058503" />
         </form>
    </BODY>
    </HTML
    This is working beside the fact that i have to fill in my BW username and password. I translated this to Java with  the Jakarta HTTP Librarys into the following code.
    try
                HttpClient httpClient = new HttpClient();
                PostMethod post = new PostMethod("http://<system name>");
                NameValuePair[] data =
                        new NameValuePair("SAP-LANGUAGE", "D"),
                        new NameValuePair("PAGENO", "1"),
                        new NameValuePair("CMD", "LDOC"),
                        new NameValuePair("TEMPLATE_ID", "Z_TEST_AX"),
                        new NameValuePair("var_name_1", "H1_ORGST"),
                        new NameValuePair("VAR_NODE_IOBJNM_1", "0ORGUNIT"),
                        new NameValuePair("var_value_ext_1", "50058503")};
                post.setRequestBody(data);
                int iReturnCode = httpClient.executeMethod(post);
                wdContext.currentContextElement().setTextView(Integer.toString(iReturnCode ));
                post.releaseConnection();
            } catch (IOException ioe)
                wdContext.currentContextElement().setTextView(ioe.getMessage());
    All i get is an Error 401 which means "Not Authorized". The Portal (where the application is running) and the BW do both support Single Sign On and the BW System is configured in the Portal.
    I think the HTTP Post is to generic. I also think that i need to make a authorization before and post the Kereberos Ticket to the BW before.
    But how can i accomplish that? Is there a SAP HelperClass to configure or establish system connections of SSO enabled systems?
    Or is the approach with the HTTP Post in java wrong, maybe there is an easier way to do transfer a lot of personnel or orgunit numbers to the BW Query?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kai Mattern

    Since you mentioned, I now tried to modify the writeToFile method in a few ways (closing the streams, directly setting them to null...), but the "java.lang.IllegalStateException: Already connected" exception remains there
    Actually I suppose this has no effect on the originally reported cookie problem, because if I just completely remove this logwriting (+ the following URL disconnect-reconnect) from the code, the situation is the very same
    I paste my modified writeToFile method anyway, maybe you can tell what I do wrong here, and I can learn from that
        public void writeToFile ( HttpURLConnection urlConnection, String filename ) {
          try {
            BufferedReader bufferedReader = null;
            InputStreamReader inputStreamReader = null;
            // Prepare a reader to read the response from the URLConnection
            inputStreamReader = new InputStreamReader(urlConnection.getInputStream());
            bufferedReader = new BufferedReader(inputStreamReader);
            String responseLine;
            PrintStream printStream = new PrintStream(new FileOutputStream (filename));
            // Read until there is nothing left in the stream
            while ((responseLine = bufferedReader.readLine()) != null)
                printStream.println(responseLine);
            inputStreamReader.close();
            bufferedReader.close();
            inputStreamReader = null;
            bufferedReader = null;
            printStream.close();
          catch (IOException ioException) { /* Exception handling */ }
        } //writeToFile()

  • Multipart HTTP Post

    Dear All,
    I need to forward a text file (without any conversion or mapping) to the HTTP receiver adapter and create a HTTP POST to an external server. Now the problem is that the HTTP Post is supposed to be a multipart message with 3 different content-types, content-lengths and all of them have to be delimited by a "--BOUNDARY" constant.
    I read through a lot of SDN Blogs and HTTP forum post, even setup TCPGATEWAY in order to trace my HTTP output, but just can't come even close to producing this sample HTTP Post:
    "POST /hapld/tos/kdwhapltos HTTP/1.1
    Host: www.xxx.com
    Content-type: multipart/mixed; boundary=BOUNDARY
    Content-length: 1040
    --BOUNDARY
    Content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
    Content-length: 140
    AppVersion=1.0&AcceptUPSLicenseAgreement=Yes&ResponseType=application/x-xxx-pld&VersionNumber=
    V4R1&UserId=useridvalue&Password=passwordvalue
    --BOUNDARY
    Content-type: application/x-xxx-binary
    Content-length: 719

    BOUNDARY"
    1. Is it even possible to produce that kind of multipart post, using the HTTP adapter with it's header filed, prolog or epilog possibilities? How to insert a "new line" within the prolog string for example?
    2. Can anyone who was required to develop a similar complex HTTP post, please provide his solution or any useful tips and links. I've read the SAP Help sites...
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi again,
    I am using the file adapter and a virtual Inbound Interface and namespace, so that I don't need to define any object within the Repository, but in order to use the java mapping, I need to create an interface-mapping. The interface mapping requires an inbound and outbound interface though.
    What I want to achive is polling a text file from a local network folder via the file adapter and forwarding this file without any conversion as an HTTP Post to an external HTTP service. As this receiver service requires a multipart HTTP message, I'm forced to figure out another way to foward the original payload, but modify the HTTP buildup.
