HTTP Test Tool Umlaut (Special Character) Problem iso-8859-1 utf-8

Hi folks,
I habe a Problem in an HTTP to IDOC Scenario. The configuration works and when I test it, by using the Test Message Tool from the Runtime Workbench i get the following problem:
I post an IDOC XML Charset iso-8859-1 when it arrive as IDoc in business system german umlauts would be displayd very cryptic
ä = ä
ü = ü
and so on ....
When I post the XML with UTF-8 charset it works, what can i do to handle this ?
Thank you

  • About HTTP Test Tool

    Hi Experts,
    I have a doubt , If we r implementing a HTTP To RFC Scenario
    We have to send the data through  HTTP Test Tool .
    Is there any connection we have to establish in between these Tool and XI.
    How it wil get connect to the Xi Integration Server.
    Please clarify me.

    you will send http request to url like this http://host:port/sap/xi/adapter_plain?namespace=http%3A//otr.ru/gba&interface=MI_PaymentOrder_GetListByAccount_OB&service=httpTest&party=&agency=&scheme=&QOS=BE&sap-user=AUSER&sap-password=pass&sap-client=001&sap-language=EN

  • Where can i fing HTTP test tool/ client http adapter?

    Hi,
       Where can I find http test tool/ http adapter client tool? So that I can sedn messages to XI. Appreciate for your response.
    Thanks,
    Mallikarjun.M

    Hi,
    In XI You can go to RWB (from XI server homepage)->Comp Monitoring -> Display All ->Int Server-> Int Engine
    In the bottom, you find 3 tabs, select the test message tab to post messages.
    Pls note that, when you need to test, you should have created the scenario in IR/ID (and u can use the details of Recr Determination ID) to fill in the details.
    As Chandra Mentioned you can use Stephan's code.
    Hope this helps

    Hi,

    Try to use parameters instead hardcoding values in the queries:
    select * from user where lower(username)=?;
    and don't forget to lower the value from java side as well ;-)

  • How can I test for a special character in action script ?

    I have XML which I use within Flex. One off the values passed in is a special character (the infinity symbol). This displays great within the datagrid, but I want to do some other action script rendering based on this. How can I test this in an if statement.
    XML snippit
    <data>&#8734;</data>
    var infin:String = data[column.dataField];
    if (infin == "&#8734;") // This is the bit I can’t work out
                    // Do Something here

    Hi schaerm,
    you have to dig deeper.
    An idea is this one:
    The red marked word is containing the unit - in a coded way. Somewhere in the LV help you can find the description of this coding (I remember a chapter on memory representations of all LV datatypes...). (There surely is an easier or better way - but the example is done quic&dirty.)
    You can also format the number into a string and analyze the unit here...

    How can we download the the same ship to name with out any special character in Microsoft excel.
    Please help me.
    Thanks,

    Hi Venkat,
    If you can verify that whether the special character is from SAP or excel. This you need to verify by de-bugging in SAP and then by opening the downloaded file in notepad.
    Please refer the link below for details:

  • Conversion  ISO-8859-7- UTF-8  and UTF-8 - ISO-8859-7

    Hi, I written this function to do a Charset conversion
    from ISO-8859-7 to UTF-8 and vice versa
    void ChangeChersetEncoding(String EncodingType)
    String GrammarText;
    try
    GrammarText = Editor.getText();
    b = GrammarText.getBytes(LastEncoding);
    String strTemp = new String(b,EncodingType);
    Editor.setText(strTemp);
    LastEncoding = EncodingType;
    catch (UnsupportedEncodingException e)
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(this, "Error: " + e.getMessage
    () , "Error", JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
    The steps followed are:
    1)I initialize Editor (that is a JEditorPane) with a InputStreamReader, that use by default "CP1252"(window - latin1) charset encoding.
    2)When I call the function the first time with EncodingType = "ISO-8859-7" and LastEncoding = "CP1252"(window - latin1), Editor shows greek character as I aspected.
    3)When I call the function the second time with EncodingType = "UTF-8" and LastEncoding = "ISO-8859-7", Editor shows unknown character ('&#65533;') as I aspected.
    4)The problem is when I call the function the third time with EncodingType = "ISO-8859-7" and LastEncoding = "UTF-8" Editor don't show the original greek text, as I didn't aspect.
    Thank you for all.

    b = GrammarText.getBytes(LastEncoding);
    String strTemp = new String(b,EncodingType);Here you take a String (which is in Unicode) and convert it to bytes, using "LastEncoding". Next you take those bytes and convert them back to a String, assuming that they were encoded using "EncodingType". But they weren't, so at best this will do nothing and at worst it will produce garbage. It certainly won't do anything useful.
    As I said all Java strings are in Unicode. If you want to convert something from one encoding to another encoding, you can only convert an array of bytes to a String using the first encoding, then convert that back to bytes using the second encoding. Converting a String to a String just makes no sense.

  • INVOIC96a to EDI-XML by Conversion Agent fails, Special Character Problem

    Hi,
    with your help in another thread, I recognized that the EDIFACT INVIOC96a Parser of the Itemfield Conversion Agent has a Problem with special characters.
    So like described in this blog SAP XI supports EDIFACT i created a Library Project and tried to test the conversion.
    It is only working when no special characters are in the EDI file. If there a special characters insight the file, conversion agent say's no error, but the xml file is corrupted. In fact you can't display it in IE or by opening it with XMLPad it says "Not well formed".
    Hope that someone has an idea for this problem
    Thank you
    regards

    Hi,
    I have already faced the same problem when using Itemfield Conversion Agent.
    I solved the same with change properties of the project.
    In conversion agent project :
    opne the menu :  Project --> Properties --> Encoding --> Change the output Encoding Schema (None).
    use None in that schema in place of XML.
    Your problem can be solved.

  • SAX Parser and special character problem

    Hi,
    Could anyone help with the following problem?
    Background:
    1. Using a SAX Parser (Oracle Implementation) to read XML from a CLOB, convert this XML to another format to be inserted in the database.
    2. Due to performance issues we parse the input stream from the CLOB.
    3. For same reason, we are not using XSL.
    This is the problem we face:
    1. Values of some of the tags in the XML have special characters (Ex: &, <, >).
    2. While using the SAX Parser, the element handler function for the SAX Parser is called by the frame work with the value of these tags broken up with each of these characters being treated as a tag delimiter.
    Ex: <Description>SomeText_A & SomeText_B</Description>
    is treated as SomeText_A in first call to the handler; SomeText_B in the second call.
    The handler function does not get to see the "&" character.
    Thus, the final conversion is
    Say, <Description> is to be converted to <FreeText>
    we, get <FreeText>SomeText_A</FreeText>
    <FreeText>SomeText_B</FreeText>
    We tried using &; but it then breaks it up into SomeText_A, & and SomeText_B.
    How can we get the whole value for the <Description> tag in the characters() function in the SAXParser so that we can convert it to <FreeText>SomeText_A & SomeText_B</FreeText>.
    Thanks in advance..
    Chirdeep.

    We already tried that..looks like the line where I mentioned that it converted the entity referece characters to an ampersand..
    "We tried using <entity reference for &> but it then breaks it up into SomeText_A, & and SomeText_B."

    > I think you have to figure out first, which codepage you really have, not just try. Maybe you ask someone or you check with a hex editor.
    Hi Stefan,
    Finally we solved the problem.
    As you said above to figure the the codepage, we asked to our MQ team for the same and found that they are using ISO-8859-1. In XI we were also trying with multiple conbinations (ISO-8859-1, UTF-8 and many more), but didn't get any success.
    Finally MQ team changed their encoding to UTF-8 and in XI we used ISO-8859-1 and we get the success in picking the data with spl char. Even though in XI the spl char comes in destorted order but at the receiver end they are in proper shape.
    Thanks a lot for your help.

  • HTTP adapter - change encoding from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1

    Hi,
    I am trying to change the encoding used by the HTTP sender adapter in a scenario.
    However, when I enter ISO-8859-1 in the XML Code under XI Payload Manipulation on the comms channel it has no effect - the paylad still shows as UTF-8 in SXI_MONITOR.
    Am I missing a step or entering the field incorrectly ??
    Thanks
    Colin.

    Hi,
    From help
    Enhancing the Payload
    Some external systems, for example, Web servers in marketplaces, can only process data if it is sent as an HTML form using HTTP.
    A typical HTML form comprises named fields. When transferring a completed form to the server or a CGI program, the data must be transferred in such a way that the CGI script can recognize the fields that make up the form, and which data was entered in which field.
    The plain HTTP adapter constructs this format using a prolog and an epilog. Therefore, there is a particular code method that separates form fields and their data from each other. This code method uses the following rules:
         Individual form elements, including their data, are separated from each other by the character &.
         The name and data of a form element are separated from each other by an equals sign (=).
         Blanks in the entered data (for example, in multiple words) are replaced by a plus sign (+).
        All characters with the (enhanced) ASCII values 128 to 255 (hexadecimal 80 to FF) are transcribed using a hexadecimal sequence, beginning with a percentage sign (%) followed by the hexadecimal value of the character (for example, the German umlaut ö in the character set ISO-8859-1 is transcribed as %F6).
       All characters that occur in these rules as control characters (&, +, =, and %) are also transcribed hexadecimally in the same way as high value ASCII characters
