HTTPS and WebDynpro iView

Ok guys, need some help here. I have developed a webdynpro application, deployed to my test portal, create an iView for it, and tested it in the portal. Works Great!!!! Here's the problem, after being very happy with myself about the development of this webdynpro application, I deployed it to our Production Portal, create an iView, and tested. It doesn't work. I have narrowed it down to the fact that we use HTTPS on the production portal, when the iView is trying to come up, it says 404 not found. Now, if I go into the portal via the back end using HTTP, the iView works. Is there anyway that I can get around this HTTPS.
I post this in two other forums cause I don't know exactly what the problem is related to.

Ok, I found this documentation,
 HTTPS
To ensure that Web Dynpro applications run securely in the browser, it is recommended that you use the communication protocol Secure http (HTTPS). To use HTPPS for Web Dynpro, you must set the relevant flag in the Visual Administrator. The Web Dynpro application can then run on the port entered for the HTTPS connection.
Now, does anyone know exactly where in visual administrator this flag is?

I have created a custom room template and now want to add an additional webdynpro iview to only a specific set of users who's room used this template. Can I create a custom room part based off of a webdynpro iview or do I have to create another custom template that contains the webdynpro iview? Any assistance would be most appreciated.

Hi Vineeth thanks for answering.
Have you try your suggestion?, because that's the way I'm working and the folder always appears. The Folder has the Room Part name you give at the time you added it to the Room. The custom workset don't have folders, just pages.

Hi,
When you deploy a VC model it automatically creates an iView for you.
After you deploy a Web Dynpro application you can create a Web Dynpro iView using the iView template wizard. See <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/91/0d653f0c9fa075e10000000a114084/frameset.htm">here</a> for detailed process.
Once created both iViews you can simply delta-link them to a page you create. See <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/db/b8df3d48b05d5ae10000000a11405a/frameset.htm">here</a> how to create a portal page.

SAP Portal Network - WebDynpro iView and SAP Application iView sharing

Hello All,
I've read about the restrictions in SAP Portal supporting the WSRP standard for application sharing. Mainly WebDynpro iViews and SAP application iViews sharing is not supported. That is in the case of a SAP Portal as producer and Non-SAPPortal as consumer.
I'm interested in a WebDynpro iViews and SAP application iViews sharing in a only-SAP Portals Network, where SAP Portals act as producer and consumer.
I've heard about the Remote Role Assignment and Remote Content Copy that are used in such case. I would like to ask if anyone knows if these can help overcome the restriction in sharing WebDynpro iViews and SAP application iViews that is present with WSRP? And if the advantage of WSPR, that is the application execution and rendering on the producer side, and as follows decreasing of bandwidth usage, is remaining in the case of the Remote Role Assignment and Remote Content Copy.

Editing Domain and Classification property of a java webdynpro iview

Hi,
I have created a java webdynpro iview with having the default properties. Now i want to change the properties "Domain" and "collection" but not able to do so as it always comes as disabled . Also while creating the iview i was not able to find any steps to insert the values for "domain" and "collection" properties and that's why it has taken default values. Does anyone know how can i reset these 2 properties or create a new JAVA or ABAP webdynpro with custom values and not the default values.

You can get the parameter as follows:
String param_name = WDWebContextAdapter.getWebContextAdapter().getRequestParameter("param_name")
Try your code with any WD application that accepts parameters, like
http://localhost:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/MyApp?param_name=Somevalue

Firefox 2.0 - Problems with Webdynpro and HTML iviews

Hello all,
We have implemented the SAP Netweaver portal 7.0 SP 10. Everything works fine on IE 6.0 and 7.0. When we tested it on Firefox 2.0, we encountered the following problems:
1. The links on the detailed navigation area are missing
2. Web Dynpro applications dont work very well. Eg: Clicking on "Next" button does not take you to the next view, OVS does not work etc.
3. SAP transaction iViews(HTML) don't show up at all.
Although the <a href="https://websmp108.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001936242005E#391,7,SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) Browser Support For End Users and Admin Functionality">PAM</a> indicates that Firefox 2.0 is supported for Webdynpro and HTML iviews, I am not sure why this is happening. Can someone help?

Webdynpro iView link to role specific iView Navigation

Hi Friends,
I have links in my WebDynpro iView.
When I click on Link, I get popupwindow.
in one role, user will be able to see the popup in editable form
in another role, user will see the popup as displaying information only.
This iView needs to be integrated in Portal.
How should it be done:-
1. create two iView's:- one with display popup, another with editable popup window on click of the link.
in this case, two iView's will be created , and will be integrated in portal with different roles.
2. create one iView.. common.
and, instead of popup, create another IView.
in this case, how to access another iView of link clicked window... to display popup one for display, another for update.
in this case.. first page will be common for both roles, the second iView.. will be different
If want to implement in this way, how to access another iView as per role from the link of an iView.

ABAP WebDynpro iView with window id problem

We have a custom ABAP webdynpro iView that is part of a dynamic navigation. When the iView loads the following warning message is displayed...
An error occured while starting the iView.

If the user is using link from favourites of browser, Ask him to delete it and manually enter the url and Try.
In my case, The user just deleted the saved link from Favorites and tried entering the url manually,
though it is weird it worked.

How to pass a run time value as a parameter to a webdynpro iview

Hi,
we have a webdynpro which we can call with passing a run time value in this form:
https://xxx.yyy.zzz/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zfkq_inv_1?WI_ID=000000004332&sap-client=700&sap-language=EN&sap-wd-sapgui=X
This link will be sent to many users but the WI_ID will change every time.
It works fine but now we want to implement this webdynpro in our portal. The user shall get a link like this
https://xxx.yyy.zzz/irj/portal/webdynpro-test?wi_id=000000004332. With this link he will navigate directly to the webdnypro (quicklink-function).
The problem is that i don't know how to transfer the parameter WI_ID in the url to the webdynpro.
It's no problem to fix the WI_ID in the application parameter properties but this is not what we want.
Is it possible to transfer the url parameter to the application parameters of the webdynpro iview ?

Hi Mirko,
The first thought I had is if your scenario makes sense at all. Because you might send out the links, but probably the iView will also be accessible via navigation, and in that case this additional parameter won't be there!?! (And if the iView is not accessible by navigation, then why going the way via the portal and not the direct way to the application like with your first link given?!).
Anyhow, I think this should be possible by using the AppIntegrator, see The customer exit of the Application Integrator
For an example about how to add individual values to users which you then can add to the URL see this discussion: App Integrator, and custom URL parameters using Customer Exits - this might be a possibility that each user can call the "same" iView but in fact the app integrator then would be fired with different URL parameters (per user).

Calling a portal page in webdynpro iview.

I have developed an webdynpro iview, where it will call other uwl page inside the code.
This iview is placed in home role(like welcome page).
in wddoinit method, i have written the code,
where portal users locale is set to English.and then it will navigate to UWL using WDPortalNavigation method.

Iam able to view the UWL in Home page, but after that if i click on any user admin, or content admin roles, and agian clicking on home page again or refreshing the page it is showing previous navigation path in top level navigation but in content area it is dispaying uwl.
Let us clearly expalain, first i have opened portal, home page opened with UWL page in content area.after that i clicked on sytem admin> sytem configuration, after that when i cliked on home role again in TLN, in the TLN it is highlighting system admin>system config but displaying UWL in content area.
In the detailed navigation, it showing all iviews what home page has.
Please advice.

ABAP webdynpro iView issue with Internet explorer

Greetings,
We are trying to integrate ABAP webdynpro with portal using the standard SAP webdynpro iView template, we are able to successfully integrate and display on portal pages.
However if we are using IE version 7.0 browser we do not have any issues, but when we try to use IE version 6.0 the webdynpro portal pages does not display any content. A workaround was to open up the IE settings and change the setting for Navigate sub-frames across different domains to 'enable' from 'disable'.
This fixed the issue.
Also we came across information that we can change the setting to force the portal to use the css from the ABAP backend by changing the iView property 'Supply portal stylesheet' from 'Yes' to 'No'. Does this affect the portal behavior in rendering content in MS IE.
Please let us know if there are any other methods to overcome this issue, as this will affect many of our users.
iview isolation is of type 'URL'
page isolation is set to 'Embedded'
Portal page used is default framework type not webdynpro type

Calling a Webdynpro Iview from a Web Page

Hi guys we are trying to display a custom webdynpro iview in a web page.
when the user clicks on a link on the left side navigation in the webpage it is supposed to open the webdynpro iview in an Iframe in the same window beside the left navigation area. but we are getting a warning message before the iview is opened.
an error occured while starting the iview Application/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/pb/PageBuilder:jsessionid=(J2EE3062800)ID484538950DB11873745832264248987END will run with a wrong client window ID!
and when we click on ok the iview is displayed in the IFrame
to open the iview we are using an URL of the format
http://<Server>:<Port>/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=navurl://8bc08160d466f592c481da5639ca31e9&NavMode=3
can any one tell me why we are getting this message and how to remove it.

The iview is assigned to a portal role and we even have some authorisation objects assigned in R3, so only the users who have access to the role should be able to see the iview and the content they see in the iview is limited depending on the assigned authorisation objects.
if we use the link
http://<server_name>/webdynpro/dispatcher/local/myWebDynProProject/Helloapplication
every one will be able to access the iview and they will be able to see all the content.
when the user clicks on the link he should login with his id and password so that the authorisation objects are checked agaist his id. If we use the above link the user will be logged in with a test ID and the authorisation objects will not work.

Content Alignment in webdynpro iView based on user language

Hi,
We have a webdynpro application which has a search screen
(Arabic as well as English), based on the user language setting in Portal UME, the respective language text with options are displayed.
This webdynpro application runs on same WAS where Portal is running.
When we test this application standalone like typing the URL of the webdynpro application, it shows english text with Left to right aligned content in browser for user X with Language as EN.
When we test this application standalone like typing the URL of the webdynpro application, it shows arabic text with Right to Left aligned content in browser for user Y with Language as Arabic.It works fine when it is stand alone (when we directly run the webdynpro).
We created a WebDynpro iView in Portal, and we tested with user Y (whose language is set to Arabic), issue is text is properly displayed in Arabic, but the content alignment is left to right, which should be Right to Left.
Please let me know your solution/thought to the above mentioned issue/problem.

Hi,
The webdynpro application works fine (alignment and content is fine)when i access it directly.
When i create a webdynpro iView and run it inside portal it is not working fine (alignment is LTR instead of RTL)
I went through the SAP help <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/6e/8aae409567942ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm">RTL Alignment</a>and tried creating new themes and created a new desktop and assigned it to the user. It is still the same with LTR alignment.
The issue is, why it is not working inside PRT, when it works fine inside WebDynpro Runtime.
