  • Display different level for same hierarchy value in BO 4.0

    Hi Expert,
I have one question for Webi for BO 4.0
We have one hierarchy in BW side and we hope to display differet level in same report for different column
For example, column A is for level 6. column B is for level 7.
Do you know how to releaze this in Webi side?
In the 3.X version, we have different dimension for different level.
But now in BO 4, it has been combined into one\
    Thanks and best regards
    Alex yang

    Hi,
You can still do this in BI 4.0, if you use the old 'legacy'  MDX OLAP.unv from Universe Designer tool .
Yes, with the BICS connection,  you are getting a native hierarchy, as it would be displayed in an OLAP environment.

  • Need a multi-level control break report displaying a cross-tab for each ...

I need a multi-level control break report that displays a cross-tab report for each
detail and subtotal. The individual cross-tabs are no problem. There are two issues:
    1) How to get many cross-tabs (thousands) to appear in one report.
    2) How to provide cross-tabs in-line on the multi-level subtotal lines.
    Here is a concrete example.
Suppose the data base contains this table:
    road (
id_number number, -- this is an artificial PK
    city varchar2,
    county varchar2,
    state varchar2,
    length number,
owner varchar2, -- roads may be owned by cities, counties, states, and others
surface_type varchar2 -- the surface type may be gravel, asphalt, concrete, and others
The table is populated with several million records that include every
length of road in a US city.
It is OK to suppose that all the attributes in all the records are not null.
Without the PK, there would be millions of duplicates,
which should all contribute to the summed lengths.
The report I need is like a control break report with a detail line for each
city together with subtotals for each county and state and
a grand total for the US at the end.
However, each detail and total line needs to be a cross-tab report
summing the length over the city, county, state or US
(whichever is called for at that location)
for each combination of owner and surface_type.
so the report would have the following structure:
a city cross-tab for the first city in county 1/state 1
a city cross tab for the last city in county 1/state 1
    a cross-tab for count 1
a city cross tab for the first city in county 2/state 1
a city cross tab for the last city in county 2/state 1
a cross tab for state 1
    a cross-tab for the US
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
This problem comes up because my client's legacy system,
    which is being replaced,
already has such a report (in COBOL).
    Thanks!!!
    Steve
PS, I know one ugly way to do it. Namely, make a variable for each
possible combination of owner and surface. Then code an ordinary control
break report. However, I am looking for something better.

    Hi Jenna_Fire,
According to your description, you have a matrix contains total for each group on each level. Now your requirement is, when you click on any number (data field or total), it will go to the detail report which returns all the detail information of the people
within the group scope. For example, if you click on the total of Active users in United States, it will return the detail information of Active users in New York and Texas. Right?
In this scenario, we should set the parameter (@Country, @State, @City) allow multiple values in both main and detail report. And in Default Value (@Country, @State, @City), query out all distinct values. In the textbox which contains
those total values, when set use these parameters to run the report, we only need to pass the parameters of parent groups. For example, if we click on the total of Active users in New York, we only need to pass Country, State, Status to detail report, and
in the detail report, the City parameter will use all distinct values (Default Values) because we don't pass the City parameter. We have tested this case with sample data in our local environment. Here are steps and screenshots for your reference:
    1. Create parameter Country, State, City and Status in both main report and detail report. Set both Available Value and Default Value get values from query (Create a dataset for each parameter, use "select distinct [column] from [table]" as query). Set allow
multiple values for parameter Country, State and City in both reports.
    2. In corresponding textbox, pass appropriate parameters in go to report Action.
    4. Filter data in detail report (in where clause or using filters).
    5. Save and preview. It looks like below:

Using Parameters to Connect to Other Reports
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • How to bring output of report on smartform

    Hi experts,
I want to display output of one std report on the smartform. Output of the Z report is using large no. of write statements. I want to create one smartform which displays output same as the output of report.
Is it possible to directly bring output of report on smartform??
    Please give me solution
    Thanks
    Sameer
Edited by: sameer dhuke on Mar 17, 2008 6:53 AM

    Hi,
To The best of my knowledge it is not possible directly.
You have to design the smartform with all the fields in the report.
And u have create the driver program for the Smartform or u can use the report as a driver program itself.
Then Call the smartform using FM SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME to call the smartform.

  • Page breaks appear in the spool output of report when run in the background

    Hi All,
Report is using fm 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY' to display the report. parameters passed to this fm for display are :it_fieldcat,is_layout,it_events,t_outtab.
Page breaks appear in the spool output when report is run in the background. These page breaks needs to be removed. When executed in the background, the excel extract should be the same as if pulling directly from the report itself.
How to remove the page breaks in background?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Abhishek Singh

    Hi
You can use the below code , which the reprt run in background. If you run the report in background thenyou need to use  'REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY'
    if sy-batch = ' '.
    call 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'.
    else.
    call 'REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY'.
    endif.
if you are using OO alv then write this code..
    CALL METHOD cl_gui_alv_grid=>offline
    RECEIVING e_offline = off.
    IF off IS INITIAL.
    CREATE OBJECT g_custom_container
    EXPORTING container_name = g_container.
    ENDIF.

  • To increase font size in List Output in Report

Hi, I have to increase the font size of my report's list output. I dont have to print it. So, please dont suggest print control. Only it needs to be displayed as an output.....
    Thanks.

    Sagar,
If you want the font size to be more you can do that using the SAP GUI settings .The output will then appear in the increased format as it is only a list output that you are trying to see.press ALT+F12.Choose New Visual Design and then increase font size to maximum.
    Hope this helps.

  • Function or formula to display the desired color in report

    Hi,

I've used aleters but not getting the desired output. I need to display the color of some regions percentage wise based on a condition in a box i've created alerters for individual colors but they are not working.
I came to know in crystal it is available just want to know if it is available in BO too.
For more information about the issue am facing which had already posted in this forum please have a look in the below post.
Alerter not working in XI R3.1 web I rich client report

I am desperately looking for solution and trying to resolve this issue. I would really appreciate for your ideas or solutions.
    Thanks,
    Eswar

Or just make one alerter. Make sure you are in the cell and open Alerters. Create one that says "Filtered Object or cell" = "Cell Contents"  "Less than" and enter the lowest number, like 0.6. Then click format and change to the color text or background you want. Say ok to all of that and make sure it works.
Then edit the same alerter, click add sub-alerter. Make this one "Filtered Object or cell" = "Cell Contents" again, and put Operator of "Greater than or Equal" to 0.7. Then click on the plus sign button to the right and it should give you an "And" option. Make that one "Cell Contents" "Less than" 0.8. Again go into Format and change to the next color you want. Click OK all the way out and check.
Then edit it again, and add another sub-alerter and make this one "Cell Contents" "Greater than or equal to" 0.9. and again format the color, and save.
    Does that not work?

  • 2 structures in the column, structure not displaying in the output(RSRT)

    Hello BI Folks,
I have a requirement where the user enters the input(text variable)
say 03/2011 then the report output should be Jan,Feb,Mar.
say  05/2011 then the output should be Jan,Feb,Mar,Apr,May,likewise.
The report output should be:(if the text variable is---02/2011)
Brand          Jan              Feb                     Mar                      April                      May                       June                  July                 Aug             Sept           Oct                Nov           Dec

I am acheievin this by using creating 2 structures in the columns.
1 structure is for jan-dec & another structure for the KPIs(sales,FOC).
I am writing customer exit to read the text variable & get the data for the variable read.

The problem is i am not getting the query ouput atleast not the query structure. Is there any other way to achieve this type of output.
Note:--The text variable wil be based on 0calmonth.
The custmer exit variables Jan-dec is based on 0calday.

    Hi crazymatts,
    Thanks for ur reply.
There is no data in the text variable (0CALMONTH).
But i think the structure atleast gets displayed in the output,am not gettin even that.
And there is no reference characteristics on the text variable. Its a manual input variable which i will be using in my code.
    Thanks,
    Shreya J.

  • Pacifictime format PST required in the output of report

I want to display the pacific time format i.e. PST in the output of Report.
Can you please let me know.....if any function module or else....
I am using the followin lines of code but it was not showing correct time...please correct me if I am wrong.
    REPORT  ZTIMEZONE.
    DATA: time_stamp type timestamp,
          dat TYPE d,
          tim TYPE t,
          tz  TYPE ttzz-tzone.
    Data : text(4) type c,
           text1(4) type c,
           text2(4) type c,
           text3(20) type c.
    data : temp(15) type c.
    *tz = 'BRAZIL'.
    tz = 'PST'.
    dat = sy-datum.
    tim = sy-UZEIT.
    CONVERT DATE dat TIME tim
INTO TIME STAMP time_stamp TIME ZONE tz.
    WRITE: / time_stamp.
    temp = time_stamp.
    concatenate temp8(2) ':' temp10(2) ':' temp+12(2) into text3.
    write : / text3.

It considers your time as the GST and than calculates the time for you as per the PST's rule.
    Try like this:
    DATA: time_stamp type timestamp,
    dat TYPE d,
    tim TYPE t,
    tz TYPE ttzz-tzone.
    tz = 'PST'.
    * Get the time in the time stamp
    get time stamp field time_Stamp.
CONVERT TIME STAMP time_stamp TIME ZONE tz
            INTO DATE dat TIME tim.
    WRITE: /(10) dat, (8) tim.

  • SSRS 2012 Displaying unwanted subtotal rows in reports

This looks like an Issue that has been noted and solved in prior versions of SSRS however we are now seeing similar issues in SSRS 2012 and have been unable to find a solution to this yet...
Basically when we export a report with groupings and no subtotals to excel we get blank rows added to excel with the subtotals for each level in the report - sample is below, unwanted rows are highlighted in yellow:

    Jeremy Gillespie

    Hi Jeremy,
After testing the issue in my environment, I can reproduce it. When we export a report with drilldown actions to excel, it will add an extra row for each group. The reason behind the extra row is to provide at least one row for excel that always displays
regardless the toggle state. In your scenario, if we use the =Sum(Fields!market_value.Value) in the details row, then the extra row will display the total of this group, if we use the Fields!market_value.Value in the details row, then the extra row will display
the first value of this group. Based on my research, this is by design.
    Thank you for your understanding.

  • Truncate row output on report

I have a report which outputs 14 columns so the width on the columns is limited. In the report I allow csv output. However, the output on some of the columns can contain more than 1000 characters. The landscape quickly becomes crowded.
So I used substr(details, 0, 250) for those 2 columns in my query but when I export it also truncates the output on the csv file.
Is there a way supported by APEX that will allow me to truncate the number of characters displayed per column on the report but include all information when exported to a csv file?

One way could be to write your own export program, there is a thread on the forum that tells you exactly how do write your own export to CSV functionality. Sorry for not remembering the exact thread URL
    Cheers,
    Andy
