Hyper links within .RDF reports

I want to creat a button on the report that will kick the users back to the homepage (index.html) they are running the reports from. i created a regular back button with
TARGET=<FORM ><INPUT TYPE="button" VALUE="Back" onClick="history.go(-1);return true;"> </FORM>
in the Add hyper links palatte but i can't get the same to work for my home button
TARGET=<form><INPUT TYPE="button" VALUE="Back to SOE Reporting" onClick="http:\\sddb5\index.html);return true;"></form>
any sugjestions???

hello,
i would assume that this is not the correct javascript-code to invoke a URL.
onClick="location='http:\\sddb5\index.html';return true;"
to load a document into the current window.

    Hi
    You need to link to the primary key of your main table like...
    select se.SERVER_ID,
    se.SERVER_NAME,
    se.MODEL_NUMBER,
    se.SERVER_FUNCTION,
    se.OPERATING_SYSTEM,
    se.PROCESSORS,
    se.RAM,
    (select case when server_name in 'ni-cr-dev-dbs1'
            then '<a href="Link'
    when server_name in name_of_document
            then '<a href="Link' ||
    name_of_document ||' " target="_window">download</a>'
            end doc_link
            from se_SERVERS se2
            where se.primary_key = se2.primary_key) as download,
    se.FILENAME,
    se.MIMETYPE,
    se.LAST_UPDATE_DATE
    from SE_SERVERS se
    {code}
    Replacing primary_key with the primary key column. HOWEVER, in this case you don't need to, you can just have...
    {code}
    select se.SERVER_ID,
    se.SERVER_NAME,
    se.MODEL_NUMBER,
    se.SERVER_FUNCTION,
    se.OPERATING_SYSTEM,
    se.PROCESSORS,
    se.RAM,
      case when server_name in 'ni-cr-dev-dbs1'
            then '<a href="Link'
    when server_name in name_of_document
            then '<a href="Link' ||
    name_of_document ||' " target="_window">download</a>'
            end   download,
    se.FILENAME,
    se.MIMETYPE,
    se.LAST_UPDATE_DATE
    from SE_SERVERS seCheers

  • Calling a .rdf report from a link on a apex report column

    Hi,
    I want to call a xxx.rdf report from a link on a apex report column.
    Can anyone help me on this ?
    Best regards,
    JCN

    Hi,
    Sorry - I should have read a bit further in your last post!
    The url variable that you're defining should just be the URL string that you want to create, so you only need the "http://........" part. There's also a + missing after the "&TODT..." string.
    The "DEA_PERMIT_ID=&G_PERMIT_ID." part at the end should have an & at the start to indicate a new parameter in the URL. Otherwise, &G_PERMIT_ID. would be replaced by the value stored in the session for the G_PERMIT_ID item (presumably that is an Application Item?).
    So:
    function callPopup()
    var url = "'http://snapper.accsp.org/reports/rwservlet?destype=cache&desformat=PDF&report=edr_landings_dollars_by_vessel.rdf&userid=evtr_report/chicken99@safis&FROMDT=" + $v("P810_FROM") + "&TODT=" + $v("P810_TO") + "&DEA_PERMIT_ID=&G_PERMIT_ID.";
    popupURL(url);
    }Andy

  • Need a Little Help embedding a Hyper Link in Report  based on Dynamic SQL

    I am trying to have a column in my report link to a document on my network when the column in the report is clicked. I have a table that contains a row for each document I want to link to. The URL to the document is stored in a column named NDDL.DOC_LINK. I would like the text "Linked" to appear as the value in the report column and to be a hyper link to the document.
    The report is a "Classic Report" based on PLSQL retuning a SQL stament. I am on Apex version 4.2.1.00.08
    I have been fighting with the '''''' stuff and can not get it worked out. have pasted the line in question but I can not get it to display correctly so I am hoping someone can help out.

  • Html tags within a report link

    I have data in a table that looks like this:
    This item has a footnote 1
    I would like to use this item as the link in a report. When I show it, though, htmldb strips out the and tags. Why?
    Thanks,
    a-

    For readers:
    A column selected in a report query was to be formatted by the reporting engine as a link and the column value was to be used as the link text. The data fetched from the column contained HTML. But the HTML part of the column value did not appear in the page as part of the link text while the rest of the column value did appear.
    The reason is that the reporting engine explicitly strips HTML from link targets and link text for columns that specify the link formatting option.

  • Two instances of Firefox open when I click on a link within my email client. How can I stop this from happening?

    I am running on an iMac OS X 10.6.3 using Firefox 3.6.3 as my default browser and I use Postbox 1.1.5 as my email client. Anytime I click on a link within an email message two instances of Firefox open, one with my home page and one with the site the link was meant for. This happens only when Firefox is not already open. If Firefox is running and a link is clicked on it opens normally within the open instance of Firefox. I have contacted Postbox and am currently awaiting a response to see if they have any suggestions. While this is not a serious issue it is a bit annoying. I have Firefox set to open new links in tabs not new instances of windows, so it shouldn't be that. Any help in getting this to stop would be greatly appreciated.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Not sure, it's been going on for quite awhile.

    That is a bug on Mac.
    See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=531552 - Firefox 3.6b opens two windows when opening external links

  • Linking a WEBI report through hyperlink in a webpage using open document

    Hi All,
    I have a hyper link in a web page which when clicked should open a WEBI report. I created it using the open document feature.
    Once clicking on the link, InfoView login credential page is displayed. After logging in the report runs.
    My client does not want the login page to be displayed since most of the users does not remember their password (since SSO is implemented).
    He wants to bypass this login page so that most of the users can directly view the reports.
    Question:
    Is there a way to achieve this i.e without asking for login credentials or by passing this?
    Possibilities :
    1: To create ID's for all the people (which I think is not a feasible option in my project)
    2: Create a guest account with minimum privileges and share the password with all the users.
    Note:
    1: I use BO XI R 3.1.
    2: No SDK is installed to do any programming.
    Any suggestion are most welcome.
    Thanks in advance
    Shreyas

    Hi Shreyas,
    Manual Easy Way for doing the activity in SAP Business Objects 4.0:
    This method is useful if we have a special system account that we want everyone to use.
    You will notice that all we do is generate a logon token using the appropriate username, password and CMS variables. Then we append the token onto ivsLogonToken.
    Note: The numbers on the url after /BOE/portal represents the timestamp of the last patch or install.  You can put whatever you want under the number section and Business Objects will automatically redirect to the appropriate start.do
    Step I:
    Go to the SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\eclipse\plugins\webpath.InfoView directory and edit custom.jsp
    Step II:
    You can copy the contents from the custom.jsp that I’ve provided below to your custom.jsp.
    Cutom.JSP File
    <%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.exception.SDKException" %>
    <%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.*" %>
    <%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.infostore.*" %>

    String defaultToken = "";

    boolean loggedIn = true;
    try {
    //Create session token
    enterpriseSession = CrystalEnterprise.getSessionMgr().logon(Daya,admin@123, BI4SERVER,Enterprise);
    logonTokenMgr = enterpriseSession.getLogonTokenMgr();

    Edit the username,Password & BOBJ Server Name'in BOLD Letter
    Step III:
    Stop tomcat, then delete contents in the SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\work directory.
    Then start tomcat again and the work directory will be regenerated with new code.
    Step IV:
    Trusted Authentication:
    Trusted Authentication is a component of Enterprise authentication that integrates with third-party single sign-on solutions, including Java Authentication and Authorization Service (JAAS). Applications
    that have established trust with the Central Management Server can use Trusted Authentication to allow users to log on without providing their passwords.
    This method is really cool because users don’t even have to know their passwords.  Basically with this method you can log into another system and if that system has the appropriate user name, you can pass it to the custom.jsp and then it will log you into BI Launchpad.
    In addition, you don’t need to create any java code for the enterprise token setup.
    Step V:
    In the CMC, go to Authentication, then select Enterprise.  Check Trusted Authentication is enabled, then click on New Shared Secret.  Finally download the shared secret key and keep it somewhere secure
    Step VI:
    Copy global.properties from <INSTALLDIR>\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\warfiles\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\default into <INSTALLDIR>\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\warfiles\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\config\custom.  Then using Notepad or another text editing utility, edit the following properties
    sso.enabled=true
    trusted.auth.user.retrieval=WEB_SESSION
    trusted.auth.user.param=UserName
    trusted.auth.shared.secret=<secret code from properties file you created in step 2>
    Step VII:
    Go to the SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps\BOE\WEB-INF\eclipse\plugins\webpath.InfoView directory and edit custom.jsp
    <\!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"

    <body>
    <a href="javascript:goToLogonPage()">Click this to go to the logon page of BI launch pad</a>

    Edit the username(Daya) variable
    Step VIII:
    Stop tomcat, then delete contents in the SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\work directory.
    Then start tomcat again and the work directory will be regenerated with new code.

  • Quotes in a page level item not showing up as " when used in a hyper link

    Hi all,
    In my app, I need to hyper link to a crystal report application with parameters from my page. I have a page level item that puts my parameter in quotes, but when the item is utilized in the hyperlink, the quotes come across as & q u o t ; (spaces were put in to the post to avoid html conversion) how can my string be used to appear the way I want?

    I don't use Crystal Reports, but, in general, you should encode your URL. When you create your link, run the URL through utl_url.escape() first. Put it in your select statement.
    E.G.,
    select utl_url.escape('http://oracle.com/foo"bar') from dual;
    will escape/encode the quotation mark and give you:
    http://oracle.com/foo%22bar
    This translates the " into a URL-safe escape code, %22, that should (I hope) be understood properly by your Crystal Reports server.
    Good luck.

  • In APEX clicking the hyper link doesn't trigger session timeout page

    Hi All,
    I have a question about the session time out in APEX application. I have created a simple APEX application. In the SQL report region section, i have code like this:
    SELECT DOC_Name, DOC_URL,
    '<a href="' || DOC_URL || ' target="_blank"/">Download file</a>' pdf_link
    FROM test_table

    When user clicks on the hyper link, it will display the destination page to user(for example if DOC_URL = 'http://forums.oracle.com', it will display the oracle forum page in a new browser).
    But the issue is that, after user's session timeout (I set for 240 seconds through Shared Components>Edit Security Attributes, i set max the session timeout for example 240 seconds), when i click on this hyperlink, it doesn't trigger my session timeout page and it still displays the page (oracle forum page).
    Why in APEX clicking the hyper link doesn't trigger session timeout page after the user session timeout???
    how to implememt or fix to trigger the session timeout page after clicking on the hyperlinks?
    (BTW, our APEX version is 3.2)
    Thanks!

    Hi Lily,
    the reason for that behavior is that APEX is not involved anymore if you click on an external link. That's completely handled by your browser.
    To involve APEX timeout handling you could redirect to a specific page in your application which performs the final redirect.
    For example:
    1) Create a new page 999
    2) Create hidden page item P999_URL
    3) Create a before header PL/SQL process with the following source
    owa_util.redirect_url('http://'||:P999_URL);
    apex_application.g_unrecoverable_error := TRUE;If you want to embed a link, create a link to page 999 and set the page item P999_URL to forums.oracle.com
    You could also add a white list into the above code to verify that you are just redirecting to valid URLs, so that nobody is using your trusted application URL for phishing attacks.
    Hope that gives you a direction
    Patrick

  • Link from SSRS Report to a Project Gantt, Focusing on a Task

    Hi,
    We are using Server 2010 SP 2 (and considering moving to 2013).
    We have an SSRS grid report in which each row relates to a task in a project on the server.
    We would like to add to each row in the report a link that will open the project and focus on the relevant task. The project can be opened either in Professional, Project Center or Project Site (any will
    satisfy, as long as the user sees the task in a Gantt context).
    Is this possible in 2010? Is this possible in 2013?
    Thanks,
    Barak

    Hi,
    you can easily create a hyper link to project site of that particular project, but unfortunately you are limited to redirect to that project's particular schedule PDP only not to your desire view.
    so once the user will click on link, he/she will be redirected to project site's view which they have opened last time as PS always opens the last view in-use by the user. so there is chance that instead of task related view, they may see resource/assignment
    etc etc view.
    If above is OK with you then great, simply create a ssrs column to redirect to something similar like this: http://<server-name>/<PWA-Instance>project detail pages/schedule.aspx?projuid=<projduid>
    in case above is not satisfactory, then you may need to create another ssrs report to be accessed from that parent report to show you your required results. but then it wont be a gantt view, instead you can show another tabular/graphics report to show required
    data.
    so basically its a trade-off between options :)
    hope this helps.

  • Link Parameters from Report to Form in Insert Mode

    It seems like it should be possible to use the Report wizard to add a link to a form, select some link parameters using the Edit Link function, and then when one clicks on the link it would open the form in insert mode with the link parameters filled in as defaults. Instead what happens is it tries to open the form in update mode with a row that matches the link parameters, and if it can't find a match it opens in insert mode with no parameters filled in. I want it to always open in insert mode and with the passed parameters filled in.
    I've looked through all the documentation I have access to and have been through all the Portal FAQ's on OTN and can find nothing on this. There were a few questions in the FAQ's that told how to do it in PL/SQL, but I don't know how to get access to which instance of the link was selected by the user through PL/SQL, and it seems like there should be a way to do this from within the report wizard.
    Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Jim Bladen

    If your report is created using ‘Reports From SQL Query’ then you can modify it using the following to achieve this:
    1. Remove the link from ‘Column Formatting’ section of the report object.
    2. In the SQL of the report , use custom link to the column where you want to provide link using the syntax
    select a.empno,’‘||a.ename||’‘ ename_link,a.deptno
    from scott.emp a
    Order by a.empno
    and the form will always open in ‘INSERT’ mode with passed values filled in.

  • Creating Hyper-Links in Acrobat Pro 8

    Good Day;
    I am somewhat new at this so please forgive me if this question has been asked before.
    I am running Acrobat 8 pro and I am designing some forms. One of the things I want to do is imbed a hyper-link in some of the text. This hyper link will take the user to the documentation on a webpage.
    I have created a form using LiveCycle Designer 8 (part of Adobe Acrobat 8 pro not LiveCycle ES). Within this application there does not appear to be a way to create the hyper-links. I then opened the form in Acrobat 8 pro and the link tool is not available.
    Is there a way to create a hyper-link in the form?
    I hope I have explained this correctly

    If you created the form using Designer, you must make any edits in Designer and not Acrobat.
