Hyperion FR Studio - Expansion of columns and grouping while expansion

Hi,
I have 3 columns A,B,C in my report with entity and scenario as dimensions in each column.
In column A, Entity and Scenarios dimensions are current POV.
Allow Expansion check box has been checked as True for Entity dimension
The check box to display children before parent has been checked in Grid Position properties as well.
In column B,Entity dimension is same as in Column A but a prompt is assigned to the Scenarios dimension. There is no expansion here for Entity dimension.
In column C, Entity will be the same as in column A but without expansion. Scenario dimension value will be the variance and I am supposed to display the variance between the data in the columns A and B in column C.
By default when I run the report and expand the columns, all the Entities in column A are expanded, followed by Column B and C.
Is there a way such that for every column A displayed(even after expansion), Columns B and C are displayed, then the next entity in column A is displayed with it's associated B and C columns?
Say,
I have A,B,C Columns before expansion
when i expand A which gives me A1 to A5,
I need
A1 B C A2 B C A3 B C A4 B C A5 B C A B C
Currently it displays A1 A2 A3 A4 A5 B C.
Any help is appreciated.

so, I need to make a table (I guess with advancedDataGrid) something like this
as you can see,   I have to group them by columns and Rows. I have found a "mx:groupedColumns" that maybe could help me , but I couldn't find something like "mx:groupedRows".
The grid may be dynamic,   for example if I have another XML node like:

any help ????????? I found OLAPDataGrid .....   I was thinking to send all the data into a bidimensional Array , then pass the data of my bidimensionalArray to OLAPDataGrid ... but I'n not sure if Flex is able to do it ....

How to select records based on Max/Min on different columns and group by

I have a table with 5 columns(a,b,c,d,e), i need to select records based on MAX(c),Max(D) and Min(e) group by a,b. i am trying using : select max(c),max(d),min(e) from table group by a,b. this is not working. its giving me 1 6 1

when i group by a,b i am expecting the record 1 6 3

when i group by a,b i am expecting the record 1 6 3It looks to me like "1 6 1" is the correct answer. You're asking for the lowest value of e, and 1 is lower than 3.
Maybe you don't want MIN (e). Explain why you want 3 (that is, how you decided that 3 is the correct value for the last column) and someone will help you code it.

Whenever you have a problem, you should psot CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for your sample data. That way, the people who want to help you can re-create the problem and test their ideas. It often helps to clarify the problem, too. since this is your first message, I'll do it for you:

Problem in taking the average of a column and grouping by date

Hi all,
I created a logical column using a formula in "Administration". The formula is like;
Duration%=(Duration*100)/(X-Y).
Then, in "answers", I created a report using Duration% column and another column which is its average. I want to see the average of Duration% values grouped by date.
The numbers in the report are incorrect. What can be the reason for this? Does using logical column which is derived with a formula cause a problem when we take its average?

use avg(Duration% by <"Date Table"."Date Level"> in the answers column.
substitute "Date Table" with your actual time dimension table name, and "Date Level" with your actual date column that you want to group by.

there is a workaround you can try, create audience and add DL to them and deal with the audience or convert DL to groups

Having issues viewing interactive parameters and group tree in Visual Studio 2013 design view.

Hey Guys,
I'm a web developer (front end and back end, kind of a one man army sort of deal) and my current employer wishes to use crystal reports to display the results of the online survey apps/tools I have been working on for the last few months. However, I have been having trouble getting the reports to render in browser, and a lot of the ui components of the browser based report viewer (the interactive parameters and group tree) will not render properly in the design view of visual studio (ive attached a screen cap of what I'm talking about) or in the browser itself.
I am new to crystal reports and its community and if I am leaving out any critical details or have posted in the incorrect section please inform me and I will make changes as necessary.
Additional info:
Visual studio version: 2013 professional (trial)
Plugin version (exe file name): CRforVS_13_0_9.exe (I also installed the 64 bit run-time from this)
Server and OS versions: IIS 7.5 on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
Any help you guys could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Mike
First thing you want to do is uninstall CRVS SP 9 and install CRVS SP 10. SP 10 is the first SP to support VS 2013.
Once that is done, let us know if that helped any.

Select from table in group of columns and generate a sequence number

I have to select data from a table in group of columns and generate a sequence for every group resetting the sequence to start from 1 onwards.
For example:
Data:
Col1 Col2 Col3 Col4
A NA KA 2009-08-13
B NA KA 2009-08-13
C NA KA 2009-08-13
A NA KA 2009-08-13
B NA KA 2009-08-13
A NA KA 2009-08-13
Expected output from Select Statement:

How can this be possible with a SELECT statement? Is it possible to assign seq numbers for a group of columns and reset it when it changes? In the above example, all columns form the key to generate the seq number
I know it can be done using Stored procedures and that is how I am doing it now by introducing a temporary table.
Can anyone help me in this regard? Please let me know if the question is vague to understand!

and also order by you can just do on the column you need.

Outline and Group columns like in Excel?

I am trying to do an outline and group of columns like in Excel. I basically, want to hide away (roll up) certain columns in a spreadsheet. I know I can hide them, but I would prefer to group/outline them like I can in Excel so anyone can ungroup them. If I just hide them, they look like they are gone. Can Numbers '09 do this for columns?

Numbers does not have that capability. It would be difficult to replicate it for columns because there are no filters for columns, just rows. It might be possible to do something for rows by using the filtering capabilities, an extra (hidden) column on which to filter, and checkboxes that you can check/uncheck to show/hide groups of rows.

Person and Group column in Document Information Panel in Word

Hi All,
Environment: SharePoint 2010 and Claims based Authentication.
We have a library with "Person and Group" column, "Choose from:" is set to "All Users" and in the "Document Information Panel" when I click on the Address Book (book symbol) it doesn't open the popup to select the
user nor it resolves the ids that I put in.
But if I change the setting for "Choose from:" to "SharePoint Group:" and select any group (tested randomly with some existing groups in that site), now when I click on the Address Book in the DIP it gives me the popup and also resolves
the ids.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you by chance looked at ULS logs or taken a network trace during the time the People Picker control is attempting to be rendered?
It seems to be a client-side issue. GPOs have been applied to "secure" Office2010.
Have you ever heard of GPOs causing such issues? As far as I know the people picker is an ActiveX control. There are two settings in the GPO which have something to do with Active X:
Active X Control Initialization
Check Active X Objects
Windows Internet Explorer Feature Control Opt-In
Beaconing UI for forms opened in Infopath Filler Active X
Bind to Object

I have 3 people and group columns(Peopleonly type) in my custom content type and list definition from the content type. When I EDIT an item from the list , the values in the 3 people and group column dissappear(meaning the fields are shown empty). Has
anybody come across this behaviour. Any solution/workaround ?

Did this only happen to the EditForm.aspx page of that custom list ?
Is this EditForm.aspx page customized ?
Please also check whether there are some related errors in 14\LOGS.
Please re-create another new EditForm.aspx page using the SharePoint Designer 2010, then check result again.

Column displays going down. Need it to go across and group together.

I have an Oracle report I've created and I'm trying to get certain columns of data to display only for the first row and grouped together going horizontally. It's hard for me to explain in words what I need to be done. I could email some screen shots explaining if someone is willing to help me. Thanks in advance!

What about using the report functionality itself?
Create the report as Group Left vendor wise and for the Repeating Frams of field Class_Code set the Print Direction to Across/Down and the Horizontal Elasticity to Variable and for all the Parent Frames same. Then it should work as expected.
Or keep the report tabular and use the formula column as below...

I have 25 columns, but only 8 columns visible, other hidden with the scrollbar. when click the (+/-) icon in the group column to hide/show the child columns then throws error in the AdvancedDataGridBaseEx.as:983.
I think this issue is because of invisible columns. if i removed invisible columns and click (+/-) then it work well. hide the sub columns and show.
can you give any suggestions for this issue.

Portal Users in one database and Groups is other? portal 9.2

Hi All!
My question is as follows: Is it possible to have portal users stored in one database and groups stored in other database? Also the these are the groups to which the users belongs and groups already exist as part of the current legacy system. I have to create new application and only store users in the new DB and use the groups from the existing legacy system. Does BEA supports that? Also note that these groups are nothing but custom entities and not in BEA's GROUP table. So is there a way I can write some kind of provider which will extend BEA's user-group framework? I am using BEA portal 9.2.

You can fetch data from multiple lists in ListViewWebpart, this can be possible through Content Query web part or Custom Web Part using visual studio but in that case you can not get the standard SharePoint funcationality for list (which is available in
ListViewWebparts).
No OOB filter available for multi-choice column, you also have to go with custom solution to achieve this.

Partition Name in Select and Group-By

Is there a function that returns the partition name a row is stored in? I'd like to use it in a SELECT statement, if it exists.
The goal is to get row counts per partition to determine skew on a hash-based partition (otherwise, I'd just select and group-by the partition key). I want to do something like this:
SELECT PARTITION_NAME, COUNT(*) as PER_PART_COUNT
FROM SOMETABLE
GROUP BY PARTITION_NAME;Obviously, I would replace the string "*PARTITION_NAME*" with whatever function returns that value.
NOTE: Before the forum sharks jump all over me, I did search the documentation and forums, but I came up empty handed.

Using member sorting and grouping with two reports sharing rows

I have a problem with one report and I need some help or advise here.
I have two dimensions with dynamic expansion in rows (PRODUCT, MATERIAL), and I use the option Member Sorting and Grouping at Member selector to obtain the total amount of PRODUCT group by PARENTH1:
PRODUCT               MATERIAL          AMOUNT
TOTAL PROD_A-X                                   100
PROD_A_A             MAT1                          22
PROD_A_B             MAT1                          50
PROD_A_A             MAT2                          28
