Hyperlink - bug

Hi All,
I've inserted a site URL in the page footer in the form of static text. Also I have a page title. When I preview the PDF the text in the footer turns to a hyperlink, which is fine, but at the same time it appends the page title to the URL.
For eg: My page title is 'Page Title' and I've inserted www.google.com in the page footer. When I preview the PDF, the URL becomes http://www.google.comPage/
Please see attached pdf.
Thanks for helping me out.
Mushtaq

I have been working on the same problem with hyperlinks. I am now trying to modify the HTTP Submit button without success.
I have tried using a HTML hyperlink <a href=HTTP://XXXXX and this did not work. It tryed to convert the webpage into a
PDF file......
IS there an easy way to modify the HTTP Submit button?
Thanks

  • Small hyperlink bug in 10.1.3 (preview)?

    When creating a JSP, and selecting some text to convert to a hyperlink, pressing the hyperlink button will show a dialog to enter the hyperlink's details, but the generated code will be inserted AFTER the selected text. The generated hyperlink is 0 (zero) characters wide, so, not only is it in the wrong place, it's also unclickable.
    Easy to solve, but for me this is a bug.
    If this has been posted before, please apologize. New to JDeveloper, and could not find it on this forum.
    Read about this bug on my blog (and watch the Viewlet how to reproduce it): click here to view bug

    I'm stupid, by following the tutorial without thinking. It says "click on the Link element on the palette". If I'd clicked on the link button on the formatting toolbar (between background color and bold) everything would have worked fine.
    Sorry to have bothered you.

  • CS3 "Mailto:" hyperlink bug?

    Hello.
    I am developing a training catalog in ID CS3 (all the company will spring for right now). 17 pages. Each page for a different training topic. I put the dates in for a training on one page and use those dates as a hyperlink to a "Mailto" with the subject line indicate that training on those dates. The URL in the hyperlink window, then, is something like, for example:
    "mailto:[email protected]?subject=DPR Series 1 Registration"
    On each page, I also have a link for questions about that particular training. Each of those links will take the form:
    "mailto:[email protected]?subject=DPR Question"
    Again, each page has a different training, so the subject in the mailto is different each time.
    I'm using unique names in the Hyperlink window so as to be certain that I really am putting in different subject links each time.
    Why, then, does an Outlook email from the mailto link off of the PDF of the document always include as the subject whatever happened to be the last subject I typed in?
    Has anyone experienced this? Is this a bug? I'm trying to be as careful as I can, but it still happens.
    Deadline loomming this coming week...uh-oh!!!!
    Thanks.

  • Hyperlink BUG. Confirmed at Apple Store in Spain

    Hi All.
    I couldn´t believe at the beginning but it's real. Keynote hyperlinks have a bug. Went to an Apple Store in Spain and confirmed it with their technical support.
    If you try to hyperlink a Keynote presentation from another one you may discover that Keynote exits from play mode and returns to design mode. ***!!
    Try this:
         Create a Keynote file, 1 slide (or more if you wanna loose time). (Lets call it P1)
         Create a second Keynote file, 1 slide. (idem) (Lets call it P2)
         Create a hyperlink on whichever slide of P1 to open P2.
         Close P2.
         Launch P1 - enter play mode.
         Click on the hyperlink (it should launch P2)
         It shows first slide of P2 for half a second and..... ¡ ¡ Keynote exists from play mode and gets back to design mode ! !
    Is this really what Apple wanted the hyperlink to another keynote file work? Don´t think so.
    You may find that if you relaunch P1 and reclic on the hyperlink..... it works! ! ! ! That´s because P2 is already opened. Close P2 and try again..... E R R O R !
    Please, take notice of this bug and give it a solution. It`s not a good business to set things on the applications that don´t work. What would Steve (R.I.P) think about this?
    Hope for a soon update of the application for solving this.
    Thanks

    The readers of this forum are Keynote users and not  Apple employees, we have no influence at all in  Apple  decisions.
    Hyperlinks work as they should on my systems and most other users, I have never heard of this issue but I know how such things are very annoying. There are  a few teething issues with the latest version of Keynote running on Mountain Lion, as you may have read from the other posts.
    The following routine maintenance procedure sorts out many of these problems so it is well worth spending 10 minutes going through the following:
    1
    Uninstall all of iWork if you have this, otherwise uninstall Keynote if other iWork applications are not installed.
    Use the free application Appcleaner to do this as it will remove the applications properly. It can be downloaded here:   Appcleaner Download
    2
    empty the trash
    3
    Reinstall Keynote or iWork  using the original method on purchase using the installer file or installed from the App Store
    4
    shutdown the Mac and restart holding down the shift key until the apple logo appears
    let the Mac complete the start up procedure completely, it will take longer to start as it is repairing  software on the hard drive
    5
    go to Applications >  Utilities > Disc Utility > First Aid > Repair Disc Permissions
    when this is completed restart the Mac normally
    Report back  on how you got on.

    Hi,
    Make sure the URLs are in correct format, just like examples listed in this link, some "bad" URLs can still work in other browsers, but not in IE.
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2006/12/06/file-uris-in-windows.aspx
    Or check you IE security settings, lower the security setting level in Internet Options\Security, or add the address to a trusted site, if you have turned on IE protected mode, then turn off it as a test
    Add: What happens if you directly drag the file from File Explorer to the IE address bar?

  • Copy-Paste Hyperlink Bug?

    Hi,
    My current work task requires I input a hyperlink from a web address into a cell, and repeat this a few thousand times. I've done this now several hundred times over, on two computers. I've observed that after a long series of repeatedly 1) moving the cursor
    to the cell in which I want to place the hyperlink and 2) pasting a working hyperlink, my Excel sheet ceases to automatically turn new pasted URLs into hyperlinks. I must manually enter them into the formula bar to get the same result. As you might imagine,
    this is a time-consuming extra step which slows down my progress toward completing this data set. Note that 1) I have done nothing to change the "auto-hyperlink" settings in my excel file, and 2) this event has happened with two different computers
    using Excel 2010.
    This question was asked in a different form here (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/271856/en-us), however the article did not explain why copy-pasting hyperlinks has stopped functioning or how to resume functionality. Many thanks in advance if you know the
    answer.
    Jeff

    Hi,
    Based on my tested, if I copied the whole cell which include a hyperlink and pasted to a new sheet, it worked well (Open the hyperlink in browser directly). If I only copied the hyperlink, it pasted as a text.  Microsoft Excel does not interpret these
    text values as hyperlinks (Such as copy/paste the  hyperlink content) unless they are typed from the keyboard. When we type an entry in the worksheet that begins with any of the following prefixes, Microsoft Excel automatically creates
    a hyperlink:
    http://
    www.
    ftp://
    mailto:
    file://
    news:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291209/en-us
    Thus, I recommend we select the cell not only the hyperlink during copying/pasting.

  • All hyperlinks but one fixed with Decode-new.jsx script

    Hi,
    I'm creating a course calendar for work and I have created registration icons that direct the user to a mailto: email link where I define the subject and the default body text in the email for every course. I have over 100 of these icon links and run the Decode-New.jsx script frequently to fix any of the hyperlink bug issues that happen in older versions of InDesign (I'm running on CS 6 but run on CC on my own personal system).
    The script fixes all but one of my mailto: links. I get the following error when I run the script:
    I've deleted the icon and recreated a new one and relinked the mailto and it didn't work. Then I copied and pasted an existing linked icon that does work and edited the mailto: to have the properties that I need....and that still didn't work. Then I saved the document and restarted my InDesign all together and did the 2 above steps again....and still nothing. I'm literally pasting in the exact same information of the mailto: url as in the other working links and just editing the subject title properties and it's just not working. I'm stumped.
    It would be ridiculous and bad UI to have all but 1 email registration link have predefined properties for the subject and body text. Any solutions?

    Any help would be appreciated. Outside of using script, I know my way around InDesign so I feel like I've exhausted every solution other than uninstalling and installing Indesign again, which is just too long of a process as I don't have administrative rights at work.

  • More epub export woes

    I've moved back to CS4 to create and export my ebooks, since CS5 has the [very annoying] bug of failing to properly export intra book document hyperlinks.  Unfortunately, though CS4 seems to make better interactive epub files, I'm running into some other problems.  First off, every time I export a book to Digital Editions, ID CS4 crashes, often reporting damaged files on a restart--some of them so damaged that I can't reopen them and have to recreate them from scratch. The crash appears to be happening as the epub export is completing because I usually find the epub file after the crash and it will open and all of it is there. This has happened with 3 ebooks in a row . . . every time I do a book export to Digital Editions, CS4 crashes.
    Another strange thing I just ran across is the inaccurate export of typographical quote marks.  The weird thing about it is, that it can be correct in one book document and replaced by "Äô" in another book document in the same book.  I opened both docs, and they are using the same glyph and fonts, so I can't figure out why it's right in one place and wrong in another in the same ebook file.
    Anyone have any ideas about either of these issues?  I have fully patched CS4 (and CS5--though that helps little with the unfixed hyperlink bug) on an Intel Mac running 10.5.8.
    While I wait on any replies, I'm going to try the exports from my Windows 7 laptop to see if I have the same problems there.

    That was the first thing I did but copying the text to note pad and stripping all styles got me right back where I started. The strange thing is the encoding can be fine in some chapters and displayed wrong in others. whether it's a single file separated by first levels or multiple files in a book file.
    I've been told it's the reader's fault but that means ADE (and subsequent readers that use ADE would all see the bad encoding. In another forum I was told to add:
    <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> in the <head> of the document. I did, but it didn't change things.
    One thing I noticed was when exporting you get varying results of the encoding if you sort by unordered and ordered lists as opposed to convert to text.
    One will provide less encoding hassles. Anyway my only solution so far is manually editing the code to the html codes. Find and replace.
    http://www.tedmontgomery.com/tutorial/htmlchrc.html
    It might be a worthwhile project to export the epub and convert the epub to epub in Calibre and see if Calibre reincodes it correctly.

  • Bug: Link Inspector   Enable as hyperlink doesn't lock

    How annoying is this:
    I have a URL that I'm using in copy for a flyer that is designed to be printed, not distributed electronically. I make sure to deselect the "Enable as hyperlink" in the Link Inspector.
    But every time I move, change the point size, or edit the copy block  that the non-enabled url sits, the enable as hyper link gets checked. So you see everytime I must modify that copy block, i must select the URL and go back to the inspector and unclick 'enable as hyperlink'. If I unchecked this same copy once, it should remain unchecked. Problem is that the URL changes to BLUE and then includes an underline.
    Not very productive to have to continuously go back. But more annoying is simply trying to select the copy is a challenge because the cursor changes to a hand and then if I don't get the selection exactly accurate, a browser window pops up, creating more clutter and wasting addtional time.
    This perhaps should be catalogues as a pet peeve and bug fix, but I'm not sure where to post that.

    MacMyDays wrote:
    still doesn't work, fruhulda.
    try it yourself.
    create a text box. type www.apple.com, the link won't be active until you deselect and move out of the text box. Once you do, the link will become active.
    Now select the www.apple.com link, go to the inspector and disable the enable as link.
    Now, go to the text www.apple.com and select it and change the font. Then deselect it and you'll see the link is once again active.
    Can you replicate this behaviour at your end?
    If your Autocorrection Preferences are set to recognize such links, wouldn't you expect them to re-activate? I would, but I don't think you have said anything about that preference setting.

  • Possible bug with creating hyperlink destination while in story editor

    I'm just curious if anyone else is experiencing this and if it's proper behavior or a bug:
    I'm making manual cross references for endnotes in an ebook. To do this I'm creating hyperlink destinations for each endnote and endnote reference. I'm doing this in story editor because I can see the destination targets, however, I'm having a weird issue where when I hit enter when in the hyperlink destination dialog box, it closes and puts a hard return in my text. If I'm doing this in layout mode, I don't get the hard return--it's only in story editor. Creating a hyperlink and hitting enter on that dialogue box does not have the same behavior. It's just the "New Hyperlink Destination" dialog box that does it.
    Can someone else replicate this behavior: Open story editor for any length story. Select some text (doesn't matter where it is), and go to the hyperlink panel menu and select "New Hyperlink Destination" and then hit the keyboard "enter" [rather than clicking on OK] to close the dialogue box.
    When I do this on my Windows 8 laptop running the latest InDesign CC 2014, I'm getting a hard return that deletes whatever text was selected in the story editor. Is this supposed to happen?

    You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
    Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br />

  • Odd bug with internal page hyperlinking, any ideas? (CS5)

    I'm adding hyperlink functionality to selected lines of text in order to give interactivity/navigation to different pages of my 70 page document. I'm using the New Hyperlink dialog box, I select 'Page' from the pull down menu, but I can only select up to page 4. This is a problem since I would like to access pages 5-70. In case the file was corrupt, I created a new blank document for testing, and the same thing is happening, page 4 maximum. If I type in a number larger than 4 then this error pops up ... "That page does not exist. There are 4 pages in the document, and the value must be between 1 and 4." .... yet I have 70 pages and I have not used chapters or breaks or anything like that.
    Does anyone have an idea around this one?

    Hey we have a winner! I used the Control+Shift+Alt method as my work machine has lack of privileges in accessing the file directly, and it's all good. Thanks Peter.

  • Accordion widget Bug: Accordion deactivates all hyperlinks below widget when opened

    A placed accordion widget in a master page with foreground order deactivates all hyperlinks under the accordion widget.

    This seems to happen when you enable the Can Close All / Overlap Items below options while the Accordion is placed on Master Foreground and the link is right below it on a content page (but within the Accordions span). The workaround would be to either move the Accordion to Master Background or move the link under the Accordion to be outside its span (when opened) or disable the Overlap Items below option.

  • BUG?! hyperlink can't be changed by coding

    hiho,
    i like to change the text- and the link-value of a hyperlink in my code. for this i've putted a hyperlink-control on a page and 've included the following code in the page-constructor:
        public Page1() {
            // <editor-fold defaultstate="collapsed" desc="Creator-managed Component Initialization">
            try {
            } catch (Exception e) {
                log("Page1 Initialization Failure", e);
                throw e instanceof FacesException ? (FacesException) e : new FacesException(e);
            // </editor-fold>
            // Additional user provided initialization code
            this.hyperlink1.setValue("http://www.aaa.com");
            this.hyperlink1Text.setValue("aaa");
        }the properties of the html-control will not be changed in the page-view. the text stay on "Hyperlink" and the target-link stay on "http://www.sun.com/jscreator".
    if i debug then i'll see that this code-fragment will be executed and the values will be changed correctly in the "this"-object but not shown.

    Using properties is another option.
    Takes more steps but if you learn how
    properties work they can be powerful.
    Steps I used:
    1. Add two new properties homeLinkText and homeLinkUrl. (do this by button 2 context menu on <Page1.java> Add->Property.)
    2. In the application outline select the hyperlink.
    In the property window, click on the "..." button for the value property and then bind it to the object "homeLinkUrl".
    3. In the app outline select the hyperlink text and in the property window bind the value to the object "homeLinkText".
    4. Open up the java class file. You may add code to the constructor to set the properties. If you included setters you would add code like:
    setHomeLinkUrl("http://www.sun.com");
    setHomeLinkText("Home");
    Or optionally you could add code directly in the
    getHomeLinkUrl and getHomeLinkText methods.
    This assumes that you have defined your property to be in page scope. To create properties in other scopes you would use a context menu on ApplicationBean1.java or SessionBean1.java
    instead of Page1.java to create the property.
