I am currently running OS X version 10.5.8 how did I update to the current version of Mountain Lion?

Lion and Mountain Lion are largely sold by download through the Mac App Store.
In order to download, you need 10.6.6 or better. You can arrange to purchase a 10.6 DVD, which can then be updated to 10.6.6 or 10.6.8, by CALLing the Apple Online Store. It cannot be ordered over the Internet.
If you prefer, they were selling a 10.7 thumb drive, which may also be available over the phone ONLY.
You must have a Mac Pro 65lb tower from 2008 or later to run 10.8 Mountain Lion.

Also the FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE report is also hanging with out any output.
The RFC Connectivity ADS is working properly, The Users ADSUSEr and ADS_AGENt are configured properly. I am also able the test the Destination FP_ICF_DATA_<SID> in Visual Admin properly.
The AdobeDocumentSErvices portal is also displaying the version number for me.
Please let me know how this issue can be sorted out.

    Hello Subramanian,
I am not sure if you have solved the problem of FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE report. Using this report test you can check if the complete configuration of the destination service and the ICF service is correct. Since this report is not getting results in your case, I suspect there is problem in Destination Service or the ICF Service.
Kindly do all the steps mentioned here.

Your install disk must look like this
    and not like this.
Those gray disks are machine specific and will only work with model of Mac that they shipped with.

It's very sad that we Apple customers should have to justify why we want an Apple operating system. I don't expect Apple to continually support older versions (except for security updates - Microsoft supported security updates for XP for a decade, for crying out loud), but we should be able to do whatever the heck we want with our computers. We bought them.
I don't think it is sad at all to ask why someone thinks they want to do something.
So frequently they are wrong or think that their solution will solve their problem when in fact it will not or there a much simpler solution that we can offer once we know what their problem is instead of their proposed solution.
Besides I didn't see where anyone ask you to join this discussion anyway.

In gereral no - iPhoto '09 and iPhoto '11 both have the same themes as iPhoto '08 - there may be some changes necessary depending on themses used, fonts user, etc

Can't say anything about Lightroom, but Adobe officially supports CS6 all the way through Mountain Lion.

Obviously only you can decide what is "worth it".  Millions and millions and millions of people use and like iPhoto '11.  Some don't. If you want PhotoStream then you must upgrade to the minimum software levels

i have a Mac OS X version 10.4.11.  Can I upgrade to Mountain Lion?  If so, what do I need to do?  Thx

First, you'll have to determine if your iMac can run Mountain Lion at all. See:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/
If it can - and it would have to be a mid-2007 model; no earlier iMac can run Mountain Lion - then you'll have to get the iMac to Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. From there, assuming your system meets the rest of the system requirements, you can upgrade to Mountain Lion through the Mac App Store.
    Regards.

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, it's already running the newest OS it can.
If it's a Core Duo Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update.
If it's a Core 2 Duo or better Mac, follow the Core Duo instructions, open the Mac App Store, and try purchasing Mountain Lion. If you get told it's incompatible, phone the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion.
