I am having trouble sending emails, I can receive them and access safari. The error message I am getting is "the recipient 'persons email address' was rejected by the server. I use a company email so its not one of the selections so I set the email account up as other.

I have deleted the accounts, reset them, reset my iphone, tried syning through iTunes still wont work

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.

To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

People who are having trouble sending email on the IPhone 3G

Well i was having trouble sending email on my iphone and with reciving email with out having to log on on my phone. I had both my aol.com and the pop version of aol. Well I got it solved. I deleted both emails and redid it and it is working find now. It pushes my email through to my phone automaticaly and it will send my emails now.

I just purchased an iPad mini and have configured my email account correctly (at least I have done it in the same way as on my iPhone which works fine) but cannot send emails. I receive them but cannot send: they all go to the outbox with a message "The recipient (anyone) was rejected by the server". What am I doing wrong?

Your mail server doesn't like the sender's address for some reason, perhaps because his mail server has been blacklisted for spamming.

You need to open Mail>Preferences>Accounts>"Account Information" tab>and there input the required information for your Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP). Your Internet Service Provider will have the required information to give you to input here. Make sure that you also click at the end of the line "Outgoing Mail Server" on the arrows to get the dropdown list, and there click on "Edit SMTP Server List" and fill in the data in that resulting window also.

SMTP and SMTP-SSL is on ports 25, 587 and 465. Port 587 has to be SSL, and port 465 is enforced TLS-wrapped and is generally used by Outlook users.
Can you login in a Browser & use WebMail OK?

With Mail running, click Window in the menu bar and select Connection Doctor. That will tell you what service is not working. If this is a gmail account, it may well be yet another problem with the gmail smtp server. It happens too often.

My IPad cannot send email although they are received okay. This stopped when I changed my password. I have deleted the account and resubmitted it 4 times and the results are the same. You have a setting incorrect in the outgoing mail settings. Either the port is wrong or the server is wrong.
Please post what the server is and the port it is using. It should be something like POP.XXX.com/net or Mail.xxx.com/net.

Is anyone else having trouble sending email via O2 using Apple Mail (However, I can receive fine)

Since the upgrade to Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8) I have noit been able to send email via Apple Mail through the O2 network in the UK. O2 say they are aware of this but that it is something that Apple need to address via a patch.

Following a 45 minute call to O2 yesterday I've just had a further conversation with O2 who advised me to change my 'port setting' to 25. Mail now works fine! Panic over.
