If you are talking about setting up your iCloud Account for the Mac features, then that is imcompatible. That was the main feature of Lion 10.7 and iOS 5. You will need to upgrade your OS in order to receive iCloud features for the Mac. All MacBook Pros except for "Core Duo" models can run at least Lion. To verify this, click "About This Mac" from the Apple menu in the top left. If it says "Core 2 Duo", "Core i3/i5/i7" it can run Lion. Even better, if your MBP is newer than late 2007 and you have AT LEAST 2GB of RAM you can run Mountain Lion. A 20$ upgrade. However if you can only run Lion you will need to call Apple as I do not believe Lion is sold on the App Store anymore.

I have just reformatted my drive and reinstalled creative cloud and lightroom. When i open it, it says there is another version running the catalog and i have to switch to it to fix the problem, but there is no other version on my computer. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Where did you put the LR catalog?
Did you install the same version of LR, which one?
OS and version?
Open the folder where the catalog (*.lrcat) is located. If you see a file with lock in it while LR is not running, delete it.
Now try to start LR again. -

Installing Photoshop CS4 from original Disk onto my new Macbook Pro. Serial number accepted but now asks for the serial number of a previous version e.g. CS3 which I no longer keep. How do I resolve ?
Tina Hadley did you migrate/transfer your applications over to your new Macintosh? If so this could cause problems with your serial number being recognized. Please run the available uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once this is done you will also want to run the CC Cleaner Tool. I have a new MacBook Pro with OS X Lion 10.7.4. The DVD player does not have a feature to store film clips. Why? This is useful for my work and I had it on my older computer? Why the loss of capacity?
I cannot recall the DVD player ever being a place to "store" videos - it is simply an app to play videos.
If your machine is new, then iMovie should be included as the "shrunk" version of iLife is included with Lion (iMovie, Garageband, and iPhoto). However, iMovie is not a place to store videos either - it is a video editor. You import your clips and edit them in order to then burn to a DVD or share via a social media site.
Have you considered simply dragging the clips to your folder "Movies"? That would be a great place to just store them (please be aware that videos are usually large files, so keep your hard drive space in mind so you keep a minimum free and available for the OS to operate properly): -

Hi recently my MacBook pro has stopped connecting to our office Synology server automatically. I now have to Go > Connect to Server > etc in order to browse the file server. Clearing key chain and then readding everything hasnt made any difference. HELP

I just bought a new macbook pro and my CS6 migrated, but now when I open existing documents, it launches a free trial version. There doesn't appear to be a way to enter my serial number or communicate that I simply have a new computer. HELP! There is no customer support for this. I can't believe what a poor service company Adobe is!!
The problem was that you migrated CS6. Unfortunately, migration doesn't work because it doesn't move all the files.
First, you'll need to use the Adobe Cleaner Tool to remove the components that were installed:

As has been mentioned, the software in Mac OS X that supported the running of PPC applications rather than current Intel applications on Intel computers such as your MBP was last seen in Snow Leopard. However, since I believe your MBP originally came with Snow Leopard, you may be able to boot from the DVD's that came with the computer and install it on an external HD and try to install Quark on that.
I think a better solution would be to buy Snow Leopard Server from Apple by phone (800-692-7753 and be specific about wanting part # MC588Z/A), installing it as a virtual machine in software like VMware Fusion, and then installing Quark 6 in that. You'll still need a license number to authorize the Quark installation.
