I bought 2 domain names:   Can they work on one MobileMe account?

Hello
My main domain is: http://www.greenpointcity.com
which i bought last year and my site is up and running. All is well.
Now i bought 2 more domain names:
nammbuzz.com
nambuzz.com
Can they work on one MobileMe account?
I want both these domain names to link up to a specific page on my greenpointcity.com site and its not working.
The specific page, URL is:
http://www.greenpointcity.com/GreenPointCity/NammBuzz/NammBuzz.html
I keep getting an i-disk password message. When i enter:
nammbuzz.com
nambuzz.com
in the browser
I did everything Go-daddy told me to do. Still no luck.
In my MobileMe account my Domain is set to: "greenpointcity.com"

Now i bought 2 more domain names:
nammbuzz.com
nambuzz.com
Can they work on one MobileMe account?
Only if you point them using URL Forwarding.
http://www.greenpointcity.com/GreenPointCity/NammBuzz/NammBuzz.html
In the form for URL Forwarding, try typing in http://web.me.com/username/GreenPointCity/NammBuzz/NammBuzz.html
(putting in your own username of course).

  • Just bought some domaine names, but can't see them. they are redirected. best guess it is something embedded in firefox. i can't see anything though. help!

I bought some domain names from Godaddy. when i type the name into my firefox address line, instead of going to the parking page at godaddy, where it should go, it gets redirected to searchpagefix and there is a message on the side that says looksafe has blocked a hijacking page, etc.. i've spent hours on the phone with godaddy. they say the problem is not on their end. they see my domain name (peter-maloney.com) on their parking page. i spent hours on the phone with Norton support, my security software. They ran tests and diagnostics and found nothing. I downloaded ad-aware and ran that, nothing. I looked for looksafe to uninstall, etc. and it doesn't show up anywhere on my windows 7 machine. any suggestions? did this looksafe thing somehow get embedded in firefox? do i need to reinstall firefox? would i lose all my favorites?

Bad redirects can result from a variety of causes, including (1) system level malware, (2) system level settings changes, (3) bad Firefox add-on, (4) Firefox settings changes, (5) other (depending on the nature of the redirect).
Here's what I suggest for tracking it down:
    (1) Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
    (2) Then, in Firefox, open the '''Add-ons page''' using either:
    * Ctrl+Shift+a
    * "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
    (3) Check your '''Firefox connection setting''' in the Options dialog here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
The default of "Use system proxy settings" should piggyback on your Windows/IE "LAN" connection settings, but you also can try "No Proxy" to see whether that works better.
    (4) Search for remaining issues with the '''scanning/cleaning tools''' listed in our support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
Are you able to get rid of the unwanted redirects?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Are you publishing to a MobileMe account? Is each site in its own domain file? If yes to both and you're using the CNAME method of domain name forwarding for the first site you published the last published site by iWeb will be the one that gets open when you enter your domain name. All additional sites must use the simple domain name (URL) forwarding.
There are a couple of ways to get around that:
1 - use the simple domain name (URL) forwarding for every one of your sites. That means pointing each site to its respective address on your MMe account: http://web.me.com/YourMMe_Account_Name/SiteName/.
2 - add a dummy site in each of the domain files as described by Wyodor in this post: Re: Is it possible to have multiple sites when using ur Domain name.

    Hi,
we cannot provide any solution here because the domain validation is the second step of the process and is automated.
My advice wouldbe to follow the message guideline and contact the support, they may identify why this domain is refused.
    Hope this helps,

  • Domain name can't access site.

Anticipating the end of MobileMe web-hosting, I transferred my site to MacHighway in October. I  notified my domain name registrar of the change of site instructing them to update my name-servers to ns1.machighway.com and ns2.machighway.com. Unfortunately, when I type my domain name - www.jamesrichards.eu - into Google 'The_Bog-House_Miscellany/Welcome.html' is automatically added which brings up the error message:
'The requested URL /The_Bog-House_Miscellany/Welcome.html was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.'
In order to access the site using my domain name I have to delete 'The Bog-House…' etc and paste in 'The_Pool_of_Narcissus/Welcome.html'. There is no problem accessing the site using the MacHighway address: http://terri.machighway.com/~jamesric/The_Pool_of_Narcissus/Welcome.html. At one time, when I was finding it impossible to upload my main site I did attempt to upoad another  of my sites, The Bog House Miscellany to MacHighway's servers. However, their support team removed all my files in order to try to solve my problems uploading. I have contacted them about the problem with accessing the site from the domain name and they replied as follows:
    James,
Your index.html page is pointing to: http://jamesrichards.eu/The_Bog-House_Miscellany/Welcome.html This means that either the correct index.html file is not being uploaded, or that the file itself contains incorrect code.
I wish we could solve this for you, however, at this point the faster solution would be to contact Apple directly as they are going to be the experts in using iWeb. You could also try searching through or posting in the Apple discussion forums as there are many iWeb users there who may also be able to help you out as well. https://discussions.apple.com/
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    This URL...
    http://terri.machighway.com/~jamesric/The_Pool_of_Narcissus/Welcome.html.
is the path to a specific file so it will load in the browser.
    When a visitor enters ...
    domain-name.com
into the browser, it looks for an index.html.
Normally, the first page of a website has this name but, due to the way iWeb creates sites, the index.html is created as a redirect to the first page - the one at the top of the list in the left column in iWeb.
iWeb creates two index.html files - one outside the folder containing the rest of the files and one inside.
If you upload more than one site to a single user account, the site whose external index.html resides in the root folder is the one that will open when the domain name is entered into the browser. Subsequent sites require the folder name like this...
    domain-name.com/folder-name/
For the iWeb FTP to work properly and upload more than one site to a single account, the sites have to be on the same domain file. Otherwise the external index.html file for one site will get overwritten by the next when its uploaded and the main site will become a sub site. This is, more or less, the same as uploading to MobileMe.
I prefer a multi user account where each site has its own root folder and, therefore, its own IP address so that a visitor only has to enter the "domain-name.com" into the browser to get ot any one.

I have registered 2 domain names . can I have more then one domain name on mobile me or icloud?

MobileMe ends here at the end of the month so you will need to look into hosting your website/websites with another webhosting service.
I personally use IX Webhosting for a couple of reasons:
Fast reliable personal tech support by phone, instant chat, & email
They allow unlimited domains "www.yoursite.com", unlimited email accounts, unlimited bandwidth
And, price they are very reasonable plans start @ $3.95 USD a month

  • Hi, can anyone tell me if I can have more than one iTunes account on the same PC. I've just bought my wife an iPad2 and want to create a separate account for her. Can I do that on the same PC as mine?

Hi, can anyone tell me if I can have more than one iTunes account on the same PC. I've just bought my wife an iPad2 and want to create a separate account for her. Can I do that on the same PC as mine? Thanks.

I would advise that you not set up a second Apple ID. It's really not necessary - having two Apple IDs won't affect how iTunes works with your iPads - and will just complicate matters. Each iPad will be treated independently and can be set to sync only the items you want on that particular iPad. If you really want to keep the two iPads separate, set up different iTunes libraries and have only those items you want on the related iPad in that library, rather than a different Apple ID. If you plan not to use a computer and just download directly to the iPads, you can again choose what apps and content each iPad gets.
But answering your specific question, you can have content from up to five iTunes Store accounts on any one computer or iPad. To create a new iTunes Store account, you'll need a different email address, and from there you just create the account the same way you did the first one.
    Regards.

  • HT4436 How many devices (e.g. computer and laptop and ipad and iphone) can be linked to one iCloud account? Thanks.

How many devices (e.g. computer and laptop and ipad and iphone) can be linked to one iCloud account?
    Thanks.

At least 255 separate devices. But if you have a lot of users each with devices of their own, then they should each have separate user accounts, separate Apple IDs, and separate iTunes accounts; this will generally require at least one Apple ID/iCloud account per user.

What is the best system?  We have 30 iPads.

    That would be fine.

  • Is there a limit to number of devices you can simultaneously sync to one itunes account?

Is there a limit (set by itunes or elsewhere) to the number of devices you can simultaneously sync to one itunes account/PC/Mac? Using USB hubs or other sync/charge devices?

iTunes can only sync one device at a time.
There is no limit to the number of devices you can sync consecutively with the same library.
Each device can hold protected content from up to five accounts.
Up to 10 computers and iOS devices can be authorised for automatic downloads of an Apple IDs available purchases (some items may only be downloaded once).
Up to five computers can be authorised to each Apple ID at any one time.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I find it hard to believe that this information isn't clearly available somewhere, but it isn't and I don't think I've seen anyone here who is 100% sure. However, I believe you can have up to 10 associated devices, which include authorised computers (of which you can have up to 5), I suspect the Apple TV might become a temporary associated device while it's in use, but I'm not entirely sure myself.

how many iPads can i have on one iCloud account?

    Bryan,
According to iTunes Store: Associating a device or computer to your Apple ID:
"Your Apple ID can have up to 10 devices and computers (combined) associated with it. Each computer must also be authorized using the same Apple ID. Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days."

    You'll find the answer here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/23800598?tstart=0#23800598?tstart=0
However, I'm not aware of any way to limit access - aside from Parental Controls.
