I can't download Firefox from Chrome or IE

I have been trying to download Firefox for a few days now, going back and forth from Chrome and IE. I don't want to use Chrome anymore. When I try to download it from IE it will get to a certain point and tell me that the download has been interrupted and to tap OK to resume, but when it resumes, it starts right at the beginning again.
at first when I tried to download from Chrome (when I tried to download anything from Chrome, this is one of the many reasons why I want to switch) it would begin to download the file and then flash "download stopped, network failure." So I did a little research in the google help page, and they suggested that I clear my cookies and so I did, and now it will allow me to download the file, open it, click RUN, and even go to the install page. But when I hit install, it will say "downloading firefox" for 20-30 minutes, and then proceed to tell me that the download was interrupted. Please if you can help me in any way I would appreciate it. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to read this.

Every time I try to search for something it will try to take me through another search engine. One that is untrustworthy. for example: login.live.com or signup.live.com, and even though I have Bing as my default search engine, sometimes it will even try to send me through with Google and it even says that Google is not trustworthy. I am new with Firefox and I really, really do not want to give up on this site. I just have been having nothing, but problems. Please help me.

I can't find the specifications for your phone (Besides " 650 MHz" processor, which isn't much help). However, if you can't install it from Google Play, it is likely that it doesn't meet the minimum system requirements for your device. How can I download Firefox onto a disk from my Windows PC, and then take the disk to my Mac and upload it to use on the Mac? Safari does not work anymore.

If you want, you could also use Hiren's BootCD to make a bootable CD with many options and programs on it (I keep one, just for certain situations) that will allow you to do the same things.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, these settings are exactly the same on my troublesome PC as they are on my laptop which does not have this problem. The PC is Windows 7, and laptop is XP. I have in the past used the PC to access google documents.

I was able to download the trial from rarlab.com. What happens when you click on a download? You need to make sure you select to download the Mac version. The .exe files do not run on a Mac.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.<br />
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

I just bought a Macbook Pro yesterday. It's a 13 inch early 2011 and has Mac OSX Lion 10.7. I just downloaded firefox from mozilla. It mentioned Firefox 8.0 for Mac OSX. Now the file (firefox 8.0.dmg) is sitting in my application section and when I double click it it says the following disk image could not be opened and inside the box the reason mentioned is not recognised. I have been a PC (Windows) user all my life and this is my first Mac/ Apple product. I would appreciate all the help I can get with this. Thanks.

Thanks for responding..I tried downloading firefox again but was getting the same format Firefox 8.0.dmg so I cancelled the download figuring it'll be the same. Should I go ahead and download the same format again? The firefox download page automatically connected to that download page for Mac.
