I cannot get my mail through the mac mail icon on my desktop,

I am having trouble getting my email on my mac through the mail application. I have to go online all the time & log in to get my mail. It says my accounts are offline. I really need my email to work the way I know how to!!

iCloud Mail requires you to have Lion 10.7.2. Is this what you have? (Please always post your system when you have a question).
If you have an earlier system you will have to set mail up manually for iCloud email:

Accessing mail from AOL through the Mac mail applicantion has never been a problem. Now all of a sudden it is. Software is up to date, tried working with Apple personnel, no luck. Any suggestions?

When you're in mail, if you click on window, and connection doctor, what does it tell you about your AOL account? If it's a green light status, your Apple mail is able to sign into AOL without issue. If it's red, and you double click on it, it should take you to the part of your profile that needs fixing.

I just changed from Comcast to Qwest as my ISP, I tried setting up the iMail for the Qwest service and I am using the .live.com settings, but it doesn't recognize the server. I have to log onto the internet and use MSN Hotmail. Is there some solution so I can use the Imac Mail tab?

So you are able to successfully receive mails with the live.com account? What is currently specified in Mail Prefs as the smtp server? Does it include a username as part of the server name? Does it read like "smtp.live.com:[email protected] or like "smtp.live.com:halen10"? SSL is on for smtp? What kind of authentication? Username/password?What is specified as the smtp server port number? "Default 25, 465, or 587?" What did Qwest technical support say?

But when i want to Write a new Mail, my old contacts are not saved so i have to type the Email full.

originally before I got my iPhone 4 a few years ago, I had a LG phone and plugged into my computer, use the Windows program called BitPim that would extract into a .csv file to get them into my Contacts on my computer, then transfter into Itunes and sync from there.

Are you viewing it in Artist view or Album view? In Album view, it should still list albums by artist name, then album name. If you're in Album view, you might be looking for Artist view.

The 'Winmail.dat' problem has been extensively covered in these forums, I would search for that (a Google search works well) and unfortunately I have not seen the pdf print problem before, but assuming the software is current and functions normally (other than the pdf print problem) I have no suggestion other than the obvious (but time consuming) re-installation of Office.

From your description it sounds like your Hotmail account was compromised. Does anyone else know the password and could they have changed it?

Hi - I cannot upload my emails through the mail icon. The first time I tried it only loaded very old emails, I then tried the whole process again and it has not imported a single email. I use hotmail, and have had no problems with my iPhone or iPad.

In Mail's Window Menu, choose Connection Doctor, any red dots for status, if so what is the message?
Then click the Show Details button & Check again.

I am having the same problem but cannot get anything but the actual phone to work. I have a unlocked 3GS running 6.0 (what was I thinking?). No data whatsoever, no texting, no visual voicemail. Your answer also taught me to be a little more persistent, as I had started looking at Preferences, and just didn't notice the icons (including Applications) at the top of that window that would have led me to my answer.

Windows drivers for Intel wireless cards are known problematic.. If you have plenty of signal and it still cannot keep or hold the connection the issue can simply be the type of wireless.
Another problem is using names that windows does not easily handle.
eg If you set the TC using apple names, like
Fred Blog's Airport Time Capsule wireless24ad12
Then to windows this is too long.. it has spaces and it has illegal character.
Change all names on the TC to suit windows. Short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Also security must be suitable.. I have no idea how old or what OS your dell is, but if you still have issues.. pull off the security on the TC for a test.. if the computer suddenly works, it is not compatible with WPA2 AES. Make sure you also use a password that is mix upper and lower case plus numbers.. avoid special characters and make it 10-20 characters long say.. it is not required to be more than that unless you are paranoid.

If you have an old ID in Settings>iCloud as a result of updating to iOS 7, to change it you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change (you should need to verify the old account). Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
