I have folders on my iPad mini that group specific things such as weather and news in one folder, game apps in another folder etc. When I go into my news and weather, for an example, and chose a news I find when I close that news, it also closes the folder. I want to go to the next news application but I can't because the folder closes and I have to open the folder again and then I get to pick the next app. I feel like all I do is click click click on this iPad. I find it to be very ridiculously inefficient and shortsighted when it comes to getting from one place to another.

I'm not sure what you are doing but on my iPad running iOS 7.1 I do not see that behavior. If I open a folder, start an app, and then close that app by clicking the Home button I am returned to the app screen with the app folder still open and ready to select another app.

Hey Posada143, You can still try the rice thing, but do not expect much, as roaminggnome has stated. The rice only works if you do it ASAP and leave the iPod off-- do not attempt use, turn on or charge until it is completely dried out. This is probably academic at this point but remember this for the next time: The drying can take 10 days. You put the uncooked rice and iPod in a sealed bag, change the rice every couple of days. This creates a low humidity environment and draws the moisture out of the iPod, but it takes time. Turn your iPod on to earlier, and you run the risk of shorting out, damaging the components inside. Even if done correctly it can spotty. If you do get the iPod to work (and this may require Resetting, Restoring or attempting to place it in DFU recover mode) the first thing you do is make backups, because you never know how long it will continue to work. As for your pictures, if you can't get your iPod to work, you can try data retrieval companies, however; there is no guaranty it will work and it tends to be very expensive. In the future get in the habit of as making backups, because you just don't know. And invest in and use a water tight case. Hope this helps, Good luck. Cheers.

I have an article here that has a list of settings to get from your Email provider so you can make sure that the settings are correct. It has troubleshooting steps to try as well. Also I would recommend restarting the router, and/or testing a differnet network.

Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage to ensure that the device has Internet access. If you're unable to load a webpage, try the Wi-Fi assistant.

If your email is provided by your Internet provider, try connecting from the home network.
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, try to disable Wi-Fi: Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If not, try a different Wi-Fi network.
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Delete the account from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then add the email account again on the iOS device.
If you're still unable to send or receive email, contact your email provider and verify the account settings are correct. You will need to gather this information (PDF).

There is no official Flash support on iOS devices. If you want to use Facebook, I recommend using the Facebook app.
If you just want to view Flash material on the web, you should try a different browser like Skyfire or Puffin.

Would the backup be password protected? I don't know ... After you restore from a back-up, and if you have passwords set up, would the newly restored iPad require a password or would it be "live" for 5 minute or however long the iPad was set to wait to require a password? Maybe wiser heads can advise...

Since 20.0.1, firefox automatically saves my tabs when I close. I don't see any option to stop this. How do I stop this?

When I close firefox, the tabs that I have open at the time of closing are saved. When I reopen firefox, those same tabs are reloaded. I don't like this. I would prefer to see my homepage first.
This first became a problem after installing the most recent update to firefox, which is 20.0.1. I've searched, and I can't find an option to disable this.

You can check the startup setting and make sure that "Show my home page" is selected.

It used to be the case that you had to consider these issues with some DBMS's, but generally not any more.
Sophisticated systems like Oracle can maintain sets of statistics on tables, and on the distribution of values within fields. If the DBA chooses to, he can run commands to make Oracle analyze individual tables and columns, and the statistics produced will be considered when choosing an access path for the data.
So, the database will know how many records are in the tables in your example query, and roughly how many category 'A' records are in table2 etc.. It will also know whether there are indexes on the columns, and will work out roughly how many bytes must be read to return the result depending on whether the indexes are used, which table is scanned first, and what join technique should be used.
Look in the Oracle documentation for the description of the ANALYZE command, the SQL*Plus command "set autotrace traceonly explain", and in the section on performance have a read of everything to do with the optimizer. It's an important area to know more about if you want to get the most out of Oracle, and is quite an eye-opener if you are moving to Oracle (or any complex RDBMS) frm simpler products (Foxpro, Access etc). You can sync as many iDevices as you own to a single iTunes library if you want to do so. If you manage the content manually, you can pick and choose the apps, music, videos and so on that you want on each device. One iTunes account means using the same Apple ID to purchase and update all of your apps. You can share apps on both devices because once you buy an app, you can download it to all of your iDevices - as many times as you want - using the same Apple ID and iTunes account. If you decide to do this, you have to sync to the same computer each time in order to keep all of your shared apps in the one iTunes library.
The Kindle App content is not synced to the iTunes library. It is controlled by your Kindle account. I believe that you can go into your Kindle account and transfer your purchase to your other devices - iPad, computer, etc. You can both have the Kindle app on your iPads and share the content as far as I know, so I see no conflict there. However, while I do have the Kindle app and an account, I do not use it very often.
If you want to share the one iTunes account, there should be no problems with a second iPad. I sync my iPad, my iPod Touch and my wife's iPod Touch to my MacBook using the same iTunes library and we have different content on all three devices. My daughter uses my iTunes account for her iPod Touch and syncs to her own MacBook and her own iTunes library.
