I have a new Photosmart 6520 all in one and want to import photos from an SD card into HP Photosmart on my desktop. It is not recognizing the card, only the scan feature. The instructions show nothing about importing photos

Was your issue resolved by the first post made above? When you insert a photo card into the Photosmart 6520, it should be recognized as a mass storage device by your computer and accessable via Windows explorer (or appear as a drive on the desktop for Mac).
You should be able to double click that drive and access the 'DCIM' folder where your photos are located. From there, you can copy and paste them anywhere you'd like

Adobe is moving from the purchase of a license for their software to the renting of it. I'm old school so I'd prefer a perpetual license. But you already have a subscription to Illustrator so I guess it'd be advisable to look into whether expanding the subscription to include other software will save you some money. Also I remember something about Adobe adding features to its Cloud version which aren't also added to the licensed version and a different way of handling updates and upgrades. Indeed, Adobe states that CS 6 has reached the end of the road. So if you're going to stay with Adobe, you may very well be stuck.
I'd suggest spending some time in the Adobe Communities. You'll likely find people complaining about choices they've made that you'll have to make too. Let them be the beta testers.

There are two ways - you can boot your old Mac in Target Mode (reboot your Mac, and as soon as you hear the startup chime hold down the T key on the keyboard until you see the yellow/orange Firewire logo on screen). You can then use a FireWire cable to connect your new mac to your old one. The old Mac hard drive will appear on your new Mac as if it is an external hard drive.

If you don't have a firewire cable but you do have a home network (i.e. both computers can access the Internet at the same time), you can share the hard drive on your old Mac and then connect to it on your new Mac.

Finally, if the above doesn't thrill you, you can hook an external drive to your old Mac, copy the mail folder over to it, then connect the external drive to your new Mac and copy it over. It's two steps, but if you don't have a firewire cable and aren't comfortable with sharing over a network it will work just as well - you just have to wait for the mail folder to copy twice instead of once.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You could simply set each device to only use a single telephone number (settings > messages > send & receive, but this isn't really an ideal solution since the other person can always change their settings and see your messages and send messages that appear as if they are from you. There is only one real solution and that's to have your own accounts.

You each need to have separate Apple IDs and separate user accounts. Better yet, separate computers as well.

I have a new SIM/service and want to transfer all my contacts from the current 4S to the new SIM in my old 3GS. I do NOT want to backup/restore the entire phone contents (iTunes or iCloud), JUST the contacts. How?

Current phone 4S with service from one provider. Also have a new SIM with another provider, and want to copy my contacts from the 4S across to my old 3GS which I will be using for a bit as an alternative. Definitely do not want anything except the contacts copied across so a full backup/restore is NOT what I'm after, and I can't see (in the iTunes backup) how to only do the contacts.

Sorry, my bungle - from what devices I am used to - these Apple things still have me confused at times.
The core requirement is the same - to get the contacts from the 4S onto the 3GS without backing up the whole device/apps etc.
And a second part of that is how to get the contacts onto a SIM for a device that DOES store them there. No doubt that will be a problem as it only has name/number combos, not all the fruit the iPhone keeps under a contact. Maybe it can't done. A simple export to CSV or something that could be edited would suffcie if there were an import tool to get it onto the SIM in the simpler format.

Do you have a copy of it anywhere e.g. in the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library ? If you do then you can sync it to your phone from there.
Ringtones are a one-time only download from the store, if you redownload it then you will be charged for doing so.

Quit the application, if it's running, and drag it from the Applications folder to the Trash.

Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
