I have created a Mail List (25 adds) and it works fine, when I open Thunderbird later the list is gone and I have to create a new one. How do I save lists?

I have been trying to work out how to use email address lists in the past few months.
I recently managed to import all my contacts from Windows Mail on the old PC. They are now in "Address Book", there were a few in "Personal Address Book" but most were in collected Addresses.
When I went into collected addresses and clicked New List it allowed me to create a list of the 25 or so emails required. Then I could send out the email.
The next day I opened Thunderbird to send another email to the same list and it had disappeared.
I have since surmised that you cannot save a list created from Collected addresses in your Personal Address book unless the addresses in the list are in your Personal Address Book.
I will try again now I have completed the import and see if that helps.
Any other ideas would be most welcome.

You really should keep your contacts in your Personal Address Book.
You can drag and drop contacts between address books.
When sending a message, and the recipient isn't in your address book yet, Thunderbird automatically adds the recipients email address to Collected Addresses. You can turn that off though.

Back up all data before making any changes.
Step 1
Take all the applicable steps in this support article.

If you're running OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and take the remedial steps suggested in the summary that appears, if any. The program also generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. Continue if you find that Wi-Fi is faster with Bluetooth disabled.
From that same menu, select Open Bluetooth Preferences. If the box labeled Discoverable is checked, uncheck it. Click the Advanced button, and in the sheet that opens, uncheck the top three boxes, if any are checked. Click OK. Enable Bluetooth and test again.
If the application called "Bluetooth Setup Assistant" is running, quit it.
Step 4
This step will erase all your settings in the Network preference pane. Make a note of them before you begin, and recreate them afterwards. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the preference pane.

Both LR and PS CC will not re-open after receiving the "Quit Unexpectedly" notice, and files have moved/gone a-missing since this happened!

I have Lightroom 5 (CC) on a Mac OSX Yosemite. Today when I went to continue working on a large folder of images in LR I noticed that in the corner a few stated that LR couldn't locate the flies (I have never moved or renamed any). So I went to look for the images and they were light grey and couldn't be clicked on. I decided to just close LR and try reopening it. Now both LR and PS will not open and they just say "Lightroom/PS quit unexpectedly" but will not reopen when I click on the blue reopen tab. It also looks like about 200 images from the file I was working on have also moved out of their original location on the hard drive (again, I never moved them or made changes that would cause them to relocate). Please help, I'm over 20 hours into editing and am praying I don't have to re-do all that work! Thanks!

I went to the Apple store today and had them officially reset/repair my user permissions on my machine. That didn't work right off the bat. So the Apple 'genius' moved all Adobe .plist files to another folder and told me to restart all apps that were giving me issues. Things then worked flawlessly. He moved only .plist files back into Adobe's area on my machine that needed to be there – he trashed the rest.
I thought things were fixed, but this evening when trying to apply a Warp Stabilizer VFX effect to a time-lapse .jpg sequence inside After Effects CC, the same error popped up and wouldn't stop popping up until I quit both After Effects CC and Adobe Media Encoder CC.
I am now exporting that time-lapse from AE using AME and things were working, but as I was typing this, I received an "Adobe QT32 Server quit unexpectedly" error. The render in AME seems to still be working, however. I'm not sure what the purpose of that error message is...
Any other ideas on this? Please help! Would completely wiping my machine and starting from scratch help? Thank you!

Hi, my Macbook says its connected to the internet, but it's not working. It's about 2 years old and has been fine up until now. Its the same internet provider and I have a work PC laptop that is connecting fine. Any help greatly appreciated. Liz

My MacBook Pro won't connect to the internet, although it says it is connected. The laptop is about 2 years old and up until now has worked fine. My work PC laptop is connecting to the internet fine so I know it can't be the connection. I've checked for Adware/Malware (just in case) via safemac and that all seems fine.
I'm running OSX 10.8.5.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Believe it or not, that article helped me find a temporary solution. After reading it I realized that the problem did have to do with my DNS settings. I had taken the DNS settings that my ISP gives me when I dial up and plugged them into the configuration for my AirPort card. This apparently caused a problem because, although my wireless network is always on, it's not always connected to the internet. So those DNS settings were invalid most of the time.
I found that as long as I leave the area for DNS servers blank, the computer logs in normally. This further confirms my suspicion that something was trying to access the internet at login. I guess as long as I don't specify any DNS servers, the computer realizes it doesn't have an internet connection through my AirPort card.
So I just created two network locations: one for when my network is connected to the internet and one for when it isn't. In the first, I kept my original DNS settings because they work as long as I have an internet connection. In the second I did not specify any DNS servers. This seems to work fine, but I'd still like to know what is trying to access the internet at login. I've disabled the automatic update feature in all my programs that have it, but that doesn't seem to help the slowdown at login. Does anyone know how I could figure out what program is trying to access the internet?

I recently had to buy a new computer and people are telling me not to plug my iPod in to the computer because it will erase the whole thing. How do I save my songs using iTunes?

You will first need to copy all the music from your iPod to your computer. There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The first link below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method if you have a PC as well as a few third party applications (for both the Mac and PC) if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple Google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync" before completing the task of copying your music over.
Also, if you have any purchased music, you will probably have to re-authorize your computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

I was sent an .ai file to edit, but when I open I get The document contains PDF objects that have been reinterpreted.

When I click ok I get a screen full of "This is an Adobe Illustrator File that was saved without PDF Content. To Place or open this file in other applications, it should be re-saved from Adobe Illustrator with the "Create PDF Compatible File" option turned on. This option is in the Illustrator Native Format Options dialog box which appears when saving an Adobe Illustrator File using the Save As Command." over and over.
This isn't a PDF file, it's an AI file. It's coming from an organization that provided it on their website for other organizations to download and customize which makes me think the problem is on my end. If I go up to File and Place and up up the file and can see the graphics in the preview screen there, then "placing" just gives me another screen full of the paragraphs about PDF content.
What can I do??

I got the same result when I tried opening older versions of the posters going back to 2010. I do have an older AI - CS3 as it isn't something we use often here in our office.

ICloud emails sent from apple mail or iPhone 3gs never arrives, works fine when sent from iCloud website

The ony place I have been able to send and receive email since the launch of iCloud has been the icloud website. I wasn't able to send email from my iphone 3gs or apple mail at all until today, now it finally appears to let me send email but it never arrives to its destination.
I can send an email from the icloud website without issue, and email sent from my icloud account using my iphone 3gs and apple mail seems to send fine and without error but who knows where it goes.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I figured out how to fix it... if anyone else has this problem, go to Outlook > Preferences > Accounts > select the IMAP account > Advanced > Folders and for "Store Sent Messages in this Folder:" select "Sent Messages (Server)."

I have been uploading my old cd's to iTunes and it worked fine. suddenly it will not show the window "do you want to load this cd" What have i done wrong ?

i am a new boy to itunes and have been loading my old cd collection.
Mostly it goes fine - AS LONG as the window "do you want to upload this (Elvis) cd to itunes" appears.
Then it just will not appear, so i can't do anymore.
I've quit itunes, ejected the usb from my Mac mini and started over but zip - nothing
Result total confusion

connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.

The Ipad Mini has worked on Wifi, and now will not connect. I just have th circle going around apparently because it is searching. Then it says "not connected".

What is wrong with the MLB and NHL applications? ( I have a Roku2 in the house and they work fine there so it is not the providers.)

Yesterday, both the MLB and NHL apps stopped working. The NHL app loads and then does nothing. The MLB app tells me "Error loading xml." Both had been working fine until 4-8-15.

Restart your Mac after the combo is installed.
it's ok to do this even though you are alraady running v10..6.8.

TS3694 have an ipod touch won't allow me to add new music, tried numerous X, it will not restore to its original settings...I have tried everything that was suggested. I can have a friend restore it and I also have a click wheel ipod and it works fine.

The Acrobat SDK is nothing by itself. It is just information on how to automate Acrobat - just as the Office SDK doesn't include Office, but is for people who already have purchased Office but want to automate it.
These automation things are MARKETING TOOLS FOR ACROBAT. Consider this and the technical limitations make a lot more sense.
So, yes, you need to buy Acrobat. Standard is cheaper than Pro.

Mozilla are aware of the issue in Firefox 3.6.14 and are working on a fix, no timescale but they are planning on a quick release. Firefox 3.6.15 will fix the issue with some Java applets not working, which has caused many Pogo games to stop functioning.

Data type change made to schema.xml of comments list which is part of blog site template is not reflecting in the existing site but working fine when new site is created.

I have created a blog site with the available site template few days back. Now we have the requirement of having the attachments in the body of the comments section.
So, I updated the schema.xml of the comments list available under ../templates/blog/lists/comments/schema.xml to have rich text for the Body field.
With this change, I created a new site and it was working fine. Change is reflected in the new blog site.
However, this particular change is not reflected in the existing blog site. Any changes made to the schema.xml is not effecting the old blog site.
Can anyone suggest what can be done for the change to be reflected in the old blog site?

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to add attachments in the body of the comments section.
You can add the the Code inside the Default list pages. For more information, you can refer to:
Enable Attachment in SharePoint Blog post list and display the list Attachments
In addition, you can add an enhanced rich text field to the comment list and remove the body field. Then you can insert files into comments, too.
