I have ipod touch 5g and my ipod have physical damage, the damage is close to power on now my ipod is not working its not charging is totaly black out

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.

Ipod will not turn on. Black screen no logo. Nothing. I do mean nothing. Tried hold power and home. Tried connecting to PC. Nothing. Whatever i do nothing happens. No backlight. Nothing. hi anyone my ipod will not charge at all! ive tried charging it on my iHome, wall charger, and car charger. it doesnt accept any of them. Every once in a while when i pull it in, it will show the symbol with the blinking battery and the charging symbols. Can anyone help me? if not im tempted to buy another one off of amazon, would there be any other way to transfer the memorychip over so i can have my pictures, etc?

My ipod will not charge from a wall socket but will charge using the same cable if the usb end is plugged into a computer or directly into an airport power source. My iphone and ipad charge fine on the same cable using the same wall plug in the same wall socket. This makes no sense but I see that it has been posted as a problem elsewhere. This must be due to some kind of degredation of the Ipod. . It is not fixed by IOS resets as others have noted.

My iPod will not charge at all it will when it's off it will power on and charge to a certain pint then will stop and no longer charge what is its problem I've tried 3 cords and three different outlets and also in my computer! 60gb ipod video not charging and PC saying "usb device not recognised"

You might have to bite the bullet and restore the device if nothing else works. If that doesn't bring it back to life, make an appointment at an Apple Store and let take a look at it. -

My ipod is not charging. When I plug the cord into the ipod the ipod says "Firewire connections are not supported. To tranfer songs, connect the usb cable provided" or it says "the current accessory is not supported by this ipod." This is the same cord I have been using since i got this ipod 2 years ago. So I know this is not the wrong cord. (I have a 30g video fifth generation ipod)

You can send it to http://www.iresq.com and for $9 they will diagnose it and email you an estimated cost to fix it. You can Google for other 3rd party repair sites.
If your iPod is more than 2 years old it can't possibly be under warranty so you can't send it in for warranty repair. You can trade it in at an Apple Store for 10% off the price of a new one, or you could sell it on eBay or Craigslist. -

My ipod will not charge was working fine yesterday. I have connected it to itunes it up dates the softwre but once it has finished the unit turns itsekf off and will not charge.
Plug it into the charger that came with the device and plug that into a known good wall outlet. If the battery is completely drained it may take an hour or more before the device shows some signs of life.
