What do you mean by that?
Do you have backups from Snow Leopard (I assume you mean that, not Leopard)?
If so, where are they (external HD, Time Capsule, or what)?

Just installed Mountain Lion now Micro Trend isn't working?
I just installed Mountian Lion successfully on my Macbook Pro today and now on the desktop page at the top the Micro Trend icon is faded. When I move the mouse on it it just shows the spinning rainbow like it is loading. I also tried to open it from the search bar and it does not open. Does anyone know how I could fix this? Thank you.
Bet you upgraded from Snow Leopard. The scanner software you have installed is likely PPC but could run in Snow Leopard, which was the last version of Mac OS X that supported it, rather than just Intel software.
I'd suggest going to the Epson website and getting Mountain Lion compatible drivers from their Drivers and Support page. They will be for Intel Macs such as yours. -

How to backup an ios 4.3.5 backup on new ios 5.1.1
Make sure that you deleted and reinstalled iTunes exactly the way described in this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923

Downloaded Lion and CS2 no longer works. Help!
Help! Downloaded Lion no problem but now Adobe CS2 no longer works. Also, Microsoft office stopped working, which I bought about 2008.
CS2 was written for PowerPC processors and only ran on Intel Macs because OS 10.5 and 10.6 had a technology called Rosetta that emulated a Power PC processor letting old apps run. That technology was eliminated form 10.7 Lion.
If Office is not running, the you must have the 2004 version because Office 2008 runs natively on Intel processors without requiring Rosetta.
Both Adobe and Microsoft were dreadfully late in converting their software to run on Intel Macs.
Your only options are to upgrade both CS and Office to current versions, or seek help in downgrading back to Snow Leopard 10.6. -
I just loaded Mountain Lion. Now the Dock is so low on the screen that it blocks the running lights. How can I fix this?
You can't. Don't like the NEW design? I know I don't, file a bug report.
To do this, register as an Apple Developer—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report or enhancement request.
Alternatively, File a bug report with Apple. -
Hi just upgraded to lion , now i can't use "word" can this be for real?
hi just upgraded to lion, now i cant use "word" help please
If it's Word 2004 or earlier, it's for real. That is a PPC app and it is no longer supported in Lion. You need an Intel version of Office. You and a lot of others who didn't know are out in the cold.

I just loaded Mountain Lion and everything on Firefox is a mess!
I just loaded Mountain Lion. All of my mail is messed up. The website for Georgia State University that I need to use all the time is unreadable. It is just horrible. What do I need to do? Thanks.

I JUST INSTALLED MOUNTAIN LION, NOW THE SCROLL BALL ON MY MAGIC MOUSE SCROLLS IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION THAN IT DID BEFORE. I NOW HAVE TO ROLL THE BALL UP TO SCROLL DOWN.
If you go into System Preferences> Mouse. There is a box at the top of the screen that states Scroll direction: natural.
Be sure to uncheck the box after installing MOUNTAIN LION, then the mouse ball will scroll in uthe normal fashion.
Thanks for all the help...

just loaded Mountain lion, went to about this mac to see if worked, won't open (about this mac) About this Mac is listed, nothing happens when I click on it.
I opened System Profiler by launching it from Utilities.
It comes up with a different name to the admin name though. Maybe that's why it won't open from "About this Mac"?
For example, the computer's name when I set it up using the USB installer stick is "Harry Potter".
But the old MBA that I had was named "js".
When I install programs, it comes up with "Harry Potter", put in password.
However, when I look up the System Profiler information using Utilities, it comes up with "js's MacBook Air (2)".
Does that matter?
Is the name thing causing the problem with the "About This Mac" not opening?
I am really confused about all of this.
The information in the System Profiler is about the newer MBA.
Should I just not worry about this problem? And just open it up from Utilities if I need to look up System Profiler information? -
I have 3 Apple devices - iMac, iPhone, and iPad. I am planning to move to iCloud from MobileMe. In iTunes, I just choose to sync whatever files I want my iPhone and iPad to have since they don't have sufficient disk space as my iMac.
Can I just choose which apps or photos to sync via iCloud since I don't want all of them in my iPhone and iPad? I have all photos & apps in my iMac but only sync manually some of them to my iPad and to my iPhone. Can I still do this with iCloud?
Calendars, emails, contacts, are fine since files are small. What I'm afraid of are the apps and photos.
Any reply will be appreciated.
Thanks. With the exception of photo stream, iCloud doesn't sync your apps or photos between devices. You will continue to sync this content via iTunes in the same way as you do now.
Photo stream allows you to sync your most recent photos between all devices, you have the option to use photostream or not. -
Since uprgading to Mountain Lion, my mac mail no longer works with my exchange email properly. I finally gave up and moved back to outlook for mac, but now my new issue is using outlook calendar and contacts with icloud; possible?
Sorry but I'm really not to sure what I have. I'm not good with knowing my computer model. All I know is that its a MacBook running with Leopard. I got my computer last year so I suppose its fairly new. Is there a place on my computer where I can check to see what it is (sorry to be so dumb with my own mac)
And everything else works fine. I love Safari. It's just my mail that doesn't work. Here's the message that pop up several times.
"The MobileMe IMAP server “mail.mac.com” rejected the password for user “akcastaldo”
Please re-enter your password, or cancel."
The only problem here is, even though I enter my password it doesn't do anything. It makes that message go away for about 3-5 mins. After that it pops right back up. And I can't even go into my preference and change my email password. So I don't know what to do. -
I just made two separate copies on external hardrives of all my Lightroom 4 and 5 work. I also cleared everything in my recycle bin to make room on the hard drive. Now, when I go to work in Lightroom 5, I have no pictures. I did check the back-ups, and all the pictures are there, however with a ? on every photo. What do I do to get my photos back into my original Lightroom 5 without the ? marks? Thanks in advance for any help. Al
Now, when I go to work in Lightroom 5, I have no pictures.
Could you provide more details? Is this the copy of your catalog, or the original catalog? Are you sure you didn't accidentally open some other catalog? If you try the catalogs under File->Open Recent, do you find your photos?
I did check the back-ups, and all the pictures are there, however with a ? on every photo. What do I do to get my photos back into my original Lightroom 5 without the ? marks?
Backups will work properly if you restore the catalog file and the photos to their ORIGINAL locations. -
