I need a little script, please.

I have 2 audio streams buttons that have "Resume" functions. There is 20 sec intro that goes into main menu where the select sound stream resides. If people let play the intro, the resume buttons everything works fine. If they select menu in the middle of intro and then select the sound stream from the sound menu then it won't go anywhere. I need to take people to the main menu.
Question #2, how do I make the selected stream button show which one selected when I return to sound selection menu?

Let me see if I understand this issue... your disc has a short intro and from this you jump to the main menu. Once there, you can select the sound stream you want.
If I follow correctly, the sound stream selection buttons will have a button condition on them to set the correct audio stream, right? I am not clear on where you are using a resume function?
I would set the audio stream on the button directly, OR I would use a script to set the stream, but include in the script a resume function. You'll need to identify the button you have used (to select the sound) and then set the system stream accordingly. However, you also need a line or two which looks to see if a track has been played already, and if so set the audio and resume the track.
So, use a GPRM to store a value when a track gets started... You could do this in a number of ways, but for this I suggest a simple approach. When you activate the button to play the track, set the target to go to a short script:

Now, whenever the disc starts you know the GPRM will be '0', but after the track is played once it will be '1'.
For the sound script you can now rely on that value. I am going to assume that you have button 1 setting one language, and button 2 setting a second. It is likely that you won't have it set this way, but use whatever values are correct for your menu.

Now, if you set the menu buttons to both go to this script you should achieve what you want. In line 1 we find the button you clicked on (i.e. the language you chose), and in line 2 we made that value more usable by reducing it to a simple digit.
Lines 3 and 4 set the audio stream according to which button was selected and line 5 checks to see if a track has already played (if so, you jump the next line). If a track has not played, you go to the start of the named track (make sure you use the correct name in this line) and the resume function won't be called.
If the track has already played, then you skip the jump statement and land on the resume function instead.
Have a go with this and see how it works for you. I haven't tested it, so would be interested to know if it works as I think it should.

I am trying to set up a wireless network at my home using Airport Express.
I have a regular phone line running in to I assume the modem. From there, there is an Ethernet cable running from that box to the back of the PC. My question is, I think, which of those do I unplug and plug into the Airport Express, the one on the back of the PC or the one that is in the back of the modem, or is this totally wrong.

This means that you would unplug the cable that is now connected at the back of your PC and move that connection to the AirPort Express.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click Continue to follow the guided setup. On the third page, you will choose the option to "Create a wireless network" and continue the setup.

Been a while since I've had any problems with my system but just lately it seems to have gone a little flakey on me.
About 3 weeks ago I installed a Soundblaster 5.1Live card and was very impressed with the sound quality compared to my old Muse XL card. Everything was fine for a couple of weeks and then all of a sudden no sound would come out of the speakers! I hadn't touched anything to do with the case, either inside or outside since installing the card or any audio settings and I checked that the speakers where ok on another system.
As my wife had been very impressed with the sound quality of the 5.1 before all sound was lost and so I had already decided to put that card in her machine and had ordered an Audigy 2 for this system since I was sort of planning on hooking it up to our surround sound system. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for the 5.1 card but this made no difference and so when the Audigy 2 arrived today I removed the 5.1 and installed the Audigy 2 instead. Everything says it's installed properly but there's still no sound at all. It's currently installed on PCI slot 4, the same as the 5.1 had been and the Muse XL before it.
I know there can be problems between VIA chipsets and creative cards but I always thought they were usually to do with distorted sounds or popping and crackling, not just a sudden loss of sound..i.e. Saturday night it was happily playing MP3's and then Sunday morning nothing!
Would appreciate any advice

Thanks for the advice. I've cleared the CMOS, reinstalled the Audigy2 in slot 3 and the NIC in slot 4 and then reformatted the HDD and now everything is fine. All I need to do now is find out what's the best slot to install the SB 5.1 on my wife's ABIT KD7-E Mobo...it's ok, I'm not asking...will go and ask on AMD forums

I need a script attached to the "English" subtitle button. The script should have 2 variables:
1. When I click "English" from subtitles menu before it will add subtitles and take me back to main menu, where I can play movie or chose chapters.
2. When I click "English" from subtitles while the movie is playing it will add subtitles and resume play.
I also have Spanish subtitles, I assume I can take the same script and apply to "Spanish" button as well.

Ok.... i need a little help please...

ok so my friend had an ipod and it seems to be messed up,
so i told him id look at it, the problem is that it restarts and freezes ramdomly. after a while of playing around with it i got it to work. however i could only put about 2.45 gigs of media on it.
I have a feeling the harddrive needs to be formated. so i tried that throught itunes and no luck so far.
i am wondering if i could put it in disk mode and fromat it like an actual hard drive? also if i do that where can i find the files that are on the ipod that make it work as an ipod rather than a harddrive?

Sure. Right click and format it FAT32, then you need to Restore it via iTunes.

I need a little help, please

I had problems to install my Msi geforceti4200 128mb with agp 8x. I installed it good at the end, The problem is when i formated my pc.
I have screen lag in all my games, even in games like worms armageddon. Please tell me step by step what i have to do to install correct the video card. Same happened to me in the past and i fixed it, dunno how but i did.
I installed via drivers, directx 9.0 and i tried with 41.09 and 43.45 nvidia drivers. Even when i try to run 3dmark 2001 se it says me that i havent installed directx 8.1 ;o.

OK, I hav a previous 4x version of your mobo, which is the SA-7 SIS645DX chipset, I am very sure that yours is a SIS Chipset mobo not Intel with the support for 8x capability. You can find your mobo driver at http://www.abit.com.tw under motherboards> drivers and look for your mobo's model. Download only the released version, don't use any of the VIA 4 in 1 drivers as now you are running on SIS chipset... Sorry to have given you the wrong info for downloading VIA 4 in 1 drivers previously... :P
Download also the SIS AGP accelerator ver 1.1.14 for your mobo's AGP slot.
The reason why you are unable to disable SBA is probably due to the wrong mobo drivers installed.
Follow the steps again and see if you are able to view AGP traffic enable with 8x and if you are able to disable SBA from control panel.

Need a little scripting help

Can someone post some basic code that shows how to export from a form on a web page and how the shell script reads that variable in.
I'm trying to take a value called TYPE and post that to the shell version of the transfer script. I don't know how to relate that TYPE variable to something the shell can understand.

Thanks try67. . . but I probably did not pose the question correctly. When I inserted the script I got the discounted value when I really wanted the value minus the discount.... in this case it would have been $100.00. (1 Die LIne @ $115.00 - $15.00 = $100.00).

Need a little help please. Three questions...

I just got iLife 08 (never used it before) and have updated my old website which was on a personal domaine host (www.dpkmusic.com) and has been up for a few years now...
What did is publish my new iWeb site to a folder (to my existing website local folder on my hard drive) then upload it via FTP to my host domain server.
Question is, how can I clean up the URL so that it reads like it used to; which was (www.dpkmusic.com).
Now, if you type in www.dpkmusic.com , you get this when you hit return,
(www.dpkmusic.com/DPKMusic/Welcome-FrontPage.html). I don’t want to publish to .mac right now.
Question 2. Hover color change for text links with rendered FX, like shadows, don’t work. The links work fine but won’t change color. In other words, hover works just fine as long as there are no FX applied to the text. Any way to make this work?
Question 3. How do you make a link to a FILE open up in a new window (like an mp3). For external page links, this works just fine by checking off the box in the inspector window. But the option is not there for file linking or for linking to one of my own pages... What am I missing here?

Network Unknown? Need a little clarity please Verizon

     I originally got my Motorola Droid in December, and one thing I constantly noticed was that under my Settings-About Phone-Status menu...for my Network, it always said Network: Unknown.
     I thought this was surely a mistake, perhaps just a small glitch, as I assume It should say "Verizon" for the network. And yes, this is on 3g, not on Wifi. So just a week or so ago, I ended up having to get a replacement refurb covered under my warranty...but was quite surprised that this phone is also doing the exact same thing.
     I have searched around a bit and haven't found any other documentation about this issue...if it is even an issue at all. My 3g speeds have always tended to be on the slower side of what is considered to be typical, but I don't know if this "unknown" status has anything to do with that or not. If anyone can provide any clarity regarding this issue I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

I need a little help. I have a WRT54G Wireless Router, and it worked well for years with my Alcatel DSL Modem (Bellsouth/ATT). The modem went out and it was replaced with Westell Modem. When I bypass the router I have no problem connecting to the Internet, however when I connect the router--no connection. I thought it would not be a problem swapping the modem out. I am running XP with Norton Internet Security and Anti-virus. I have disabled Norton and do not believe that to be the problem. Do I have to reconfigure the router? If so, can I do it with the original install CD? (I am disabled and the original CD/instructions/box is in the attic and I cannot get it easily.) I have read several different threads, but they do not specifically address my problem. Any assistance is appreciated. Eddy

Many Westell modems are actually "modem-routers" and they use the same 192.168.1.1 address space as your WRT54G. This is the root of your problems.

In the above script, xxxxxx represents the name of my iDisk that is mounted in the Finder.
Here's my issue - the above script worked fine until just recently. However, now the first two steps work fine, but I get this error message while trying to copy the file to my iDisk:
"The operation could not be completed because some items had to be skipped. 'Personal.dmg'"
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this? I'm wondering if Mac OS 10.4.5 might be the culprit since this problem seems to have occurred shortly after I upgraded???
