Uggh. That won't work. I don't even know which version of AI last allowed saving so far back. CS6 only allows the AI 88 format and even that is probably merely a concession to the myriad of 3D, CAD, milling/ cutting and whatever programs that use it to import vector files on the smallest common denominator. You will definitely need anotehr version of AI inbetween or another program to save even further back...

Thanks for the question. Home Sharing allows you to share music between multiple computers if you continue to use both, but it doesn't create a lasting backup. Considering that you wish to discontinue use of the original computer, it'll be best to transfer your iTunes library to the new computer via an external drive. My max is 2014 osx version 10.9.4/ Processor 3.2GHz intel core i5/ Memory 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3. I am stumped - I am trying to open a recent Pages file (created with a newer software that I thought was correctly installed recently) but error message says that I need a "newer version" of Pages. My software updates show that there are no updates available. Pages 09 version 4.3 shows as my current version.

When I try to open a Pages document from iCloud, created on my iPad, I get message stating I need a newer version of Pages. When I go to app store all I get is "installed" when looking at pages app. my Macbook pro is up to date with all updates. Any ideas?

I upgraded Pages 5.1 on 2/25/14. All worked fine until yesterday when I could not open my journal (large file) giving me the warning "you need a newer version of Pages to open this document". Other documents open. What to do?

Converting Company Logo from PDF file to...

I had my company logo emailed to me as a PDF file. Can somebody please tell me what I need to convert this to in order to:
1) Use as a background on my desktop?
2) and this is a big one - be able to resize it so it doesn't look to visibly small on the tv/computer screen during playback of the end product?

Open the pdf in Preview. Hit the command and + keys till you get the size you want.
Press shift command and 3 to make a screenshot. It will land up on your Desktop with the name Picture1.
Open the result in Preview and crop off any menus.
Save and drag it to Hard Drive/Library/Desktop Pictures.
Open System Preferences > Desktop & Screensaver > Desktop.
Locate and double click your picture to set it as your background.
For the second part of your question, make a copy of Picture1 (command D) and import it into FCP. Use the scale control to adjust if needed.
