I don't think you need to use a ripper program to read a home movie DVD. Those are primarily for copy-protected commercial DVDs, right?
I think you just need to transcode the DVD files using a utility like Handbrake, which is free and fast.

How can I control the image size when I export form iphoto, the choice is too limited, I need to send a photo under 3 MB but if I choose high quaulity it is only 1.1 and i need to keep the best quaulity I can. Thanks for help.
Any image can only be as large as the Original. With a program like Photoshop you can UpRes an image and get it to a bigger size, larger files size as well, but the actual quality of the image will be degraded, depending on the UpRes system and the original quality of the image.
iPhoto is not the program to be doing that in and I don't think it even has that option.
So I suspect the image you are trying to send isn't much bigger than what you are getting. You can also try Exporting it from iPhoto to yopur desktop and see what size you end up with. If it is still that 209KB +/- file size then that is the size of the original image. -

By online, do you mean backup to the cloud, where you pay a monthly fee for the service to host your data?
If this is the case, then there are a lot of services (do not know them all, but DropBox, CrashPlan, Carbonite, Mozy, SugarSync, come to mine, and that is not a complete list.
There are also services that allow you to backup over your home network or across the internet to your own storage. CrashPlan has this option (for free), and Transporter come to mind. CrashPlan talks to another computer also running CrashPlan that you own or have some control (could even be a friend or relatives computer). Transporter is hardware that you either provide some storage of your choice, or they will sell the unit with storage.
I'm mostly a CrashPlan to my own storage user. I backup to a Mac mini for my Mom (300 miles away) and Wife (she is local )

Most banks have purely website based bill pay systems. I would ask your bank if they have one. Those are more compatible, and more secure than third party systems. If they are browser specific, then they are not secure.

Need to know the best practice for converting string to double
I have a string and want to convert to double if it is a valid number, else want to keep as it is. There can be couple of ways doing it and I want to know which one is best if I have lots of strings, specially from performance point of view.
1) Use Double.parseDouble(myString) and catching Number format exception to detect it is not a number. One of my colleague said it does not give good performance because of exception catching,
2) Use of org.apache.commons.lang.math.NumberUtils.isNumber() and if it is true then only parse it - so don't rely on exception.
I did some performance testing - putting it in a loop and trying out for 2 scenarios - one loop for proper numeric value string and another for non-numeric. What I found out was if strings are not proper then parseDouble() is taking long time (because of exception catching) and in that case using NumberUtils.isNumber() makes sense.
Would like to hear expert views on this.

ManishaIf you need it as a double you must convert it to a double and catch the exception. This means that testing it first is a waste of time in the case when the test succeeds - did your colleague think of that?
Catching the exception is possibly slower than the test. Whether this is significant depends on the relative timings of the test and catching the exception, and also on the expected error rate. If this is below about 40% I suggest your colleague is talking through his esteemed hat.
And of course the best test by far is the conversion itself. Using any other test runs the risk of its rules being different from those applied by the conversion.
In any case you are obliged to write the code that catches the exception. You're not obliged to write the pre-test code.
My personal rule for efficiency is to minimize lines of code until hard evidence to the contrary proves that further improvement is required. -
Making an RPG, need to know the most efficient way to Save/Load
Okay well. I'm in a programming class at the moment, and I've been trying to make an RPG because that's what I've wanted to do since I got in the class.
Some people have been trying it out a bit, though it's still very...young, I suppose. Those people testing said, "Man, I wish I could save my game or something". And I said, "Yea, I know, I've been thinking about it". So at this point I'm thinking that I should find out how to do it and do it already.
So what I'm trying to say is, I would really appreciate it if someone would be able to help me find the best way to implement saving and loading within my game. It's all text-based, and probably going to stay like that for a while.

I need a best a way to do the pattern matching with better performance
for the following requirement.
i need to search for a set of records as per the following requirements.
1. The input string will be split into tokens with space as delimiter
so if the user enters the text 'severe head ache',the tokens formed will be
severe
head
ache
2. The terms which contain exact match of the tokens formed should be fetched from the database
(i.e)
i. the token should appear in the term as such and no alpha-numeric character should be appended to it but a single space or any single non alpha-numeric characer is allowed
ii. the token may occur anywhere in the string.(like start, end, middle etc.)
iii. the term should contain all the tokens
For ex. the following terms will be fetched for the above input
1. patient has severe head ache
2. severe, head ache are present
3. leg pain "severe" #head pain
4. pain, severe in head, leg
But following terms should not be fetched
1. severe leg pain - (it does not have the token 'head')
2. headache severe and leg pain - (head is a part of the word headache)
3. head67 severe pain - (head is a part of the word head67)

I have created one PO and then I have done two 103(GR into Bolcked STK) then after I have done a 105(GR for Blocked STK) against one of the 103.
My question is how could I identify for which 103 I have done 105. Is there any reference table-field where SAP actually stored the corresponding 103 material document number for that 105 material document. How could I link the 105 with the original 103.
Actually I need to show the original 103 number for 105 in FORM output through MB90.
please help me.The PO is same but I know for 103 and 105 there will be different material document number(MBLNR). But my question is as I have done a 105 against 103. How sap maintain in its table data that against which 103 it actually done 105. in which table it stores the reference data. There is no details in EKBE. What is the best CRM to integrate with Outlook for Mac 2011?

I am rather new to Mac and need to employ a CRM for a new small business. After reading reviews we deciding on using Salesforce.com, since it is web-based and seemed to be the best option for mac users. However, now that we have subscribed to it we have discovered that it does not integrate with Outlook for Mac 2011. Even after inquring on third party apps and plug-ins, it does not appear there is a solution. MailDrop only works with Entourage and MacMail, which we don't use, or want to use. iHance and Riva seemed liked possible choices, however they do not support Salesforce Group Edition, which is what we have. Changing our subscription from Group to Professional edition is a huge jump in price per month. Plus we would most likely need to pay for a monthly app/plug-in fee.
Bottom line, we want to keep using Outlook for Mac 2011 and use an effective CRM. Any constructive advice is welcomed:
Any third party apps, plugins, work arounds that I may not have mentioned?
Any other suggestions for CRMs that integrate well with Outlook for Mac 2011?
At it's simpliest level, is there a way to export contacts from Outlook for Mac 2011 into our Salesforce account? If so, I want to make sure to avoid loading duplicates in the future.
Thank you.Well, "feeling your pain" is almost cliche at this point. I imagine every MAC deployed business out there is not completely happy with the SalesForce answer. As a user, the perfect world is to keep using Outlook, have it be a powerful CRM - and not have to leave the MAC OS environment.....
I can tell you the direction I am going in, but I don't have any results as yet. I found a link from a MAC developer that has figured a stable way to do this. With the use of "Parallels" and "MS Dynamics CRM", there may be light at the end of the tunnel. Essentially, you can now have a powerful CRM - without having to leave MS Outlook - and still use your MAC. As I said, I will have to try it myself to comment further, but at least it is one realistic answer to keeping your MAC in the business world.
