I/O Assistant Query and Parse problem.

Hi,
I am trying to use the I/O assistant with Instrument via the serial port (com1). When I use the query and parse option it only grabs the first line and parses it. For example, my command is "gc", my instrument by nature will echo that back to serial port and when the parse occurs it only receives the "gc" rather then the entire result. Using hyperterminal I get this below. What is important to me is the second line but I only read back gc for some reason with I/O assistant. Any way to parse entire result?
tp gc
version: gc.library 1.3.0.0 (2003.11.03)

In your Query and Parse step you should see a termination character window. As explained in the help window when you move the mouse over the termination character window, this character terminates the read session. The default is \n or a line feed. When your instrument sends two lines, the first line ends with a line feed and the read stops before the second line is read. Set the term character to none to read the entire line. Your instrument probably requires a termination character at the end of the string you're sending so put the termination character in the command line (i.e. gc\n).

  • Trouble with query and parse in nstrument i/o assistant

    I am setting up instrument i/o assistant to communicate with a simple serial instrument.  Labview is communicating effectively with my instrument (instrument responds to on/off commands sent by labview) but am not reading data from the instrument.
    Here is the problem:
    I send a command "=RV" followed by carraige return.
    The instrument should be sending back two lines of information:
    "=RV
    V=n.n-mm"
    where n and m are numbers, giving me a vacuum pressure.
    When I run "Query and Parse" I get back:
    "=RVc"
    But, the information I really need is in the second line, and is missing for some reason.  Is there some reason I am not reading the full string of information from the instrument, and how can I change it to get the data I need???
    Thanks to anyone who can help.

    In the Instrument I/O Assistant's query and parse step, set your termination character to none. Your instrument is sending a CR, LF, or both and with a termination character enabled, the read will terminate as soon as that character is read. Therefore, you only get the first line of data.

  • Post query and lov problem

    I wonder if anyone can help me with this problem. I have a non database text item which holds a school name dependent on the school id. I have a post-query trigger to populate the school_name field so that the school_name is shown immediately. I also have a LOV on this field in case the school has to be updated.
    The problem I have is that when I query the data block the list of values pops up automatically and won't let me out of the screen until I have selected a school. I only want this LOV to appear when the user requests it.
    Can anyone advise me on how to get around this problem, maybe I'm using the wrong type of trigger?
    thanks,
    Ian

    In the LOV properties, set Automatic Display to false

  • Voltage query, and another problem

    Just bought a Neo this weekend, and for the most part, I've been having fun with it, and it's been a good board.  However, I have one problem, and one question.  Question first:
    In the bios, it seems that my VCore voltages go from like 1.35 to 1.55.  Now, with my A64 3400+, the default voltage is 1.50, which doesn't leave me much headroom to up the VCore.  I've seen in several other locations, however, that the voltage should be able to go up to around 1.7V, and I don't see how that's possible.  I'm wondering what I'm missing, and where I can up the voltage properly (because the CPU will run at 2.4GHz and is almost stable at 1.55V, but I'd like to push it a bit farther).
    Now, the problem:
    My Firewire port seems to be Code 10 (Device cannot start), and I can't seem to find any way to get it to work 100% of the time.  Sometimes uninstalling it and rebooting fixes it (I have a 20GB Firewire drive that I use, else I wouldn't care).  Is this a known issue, and if so (or even if not), how do you fix it?  I'd rather not go get a PCI solution if I can help it, but I need some sort of Firewire connection for the HD (it's just a storage drive, nothing critical to the OS).
    Overalll, as I said, I love the board (bought it do to a recommend from someone at AMD), but these two small issues pretty much have me stumped.
    I did search through the forums and didn't seem to find anything that would help me out, but if I missed something somewhere, please refer me to the proper post and I'll be happy to read through it.    Thanks!

  • Verifying and parsing "query" in cm:select query="..." ...

    I'm writting a session EJB that's passed a param (String query) which is supposed
    to be any valid "query" string passed to the cm:select tag (see "http://edocs.bea.com/wlcs/docs31/p13ndev/jsptags.htm#1057716"
    for more info on this tag and the query param).
    My problem is this: I don't think I should write ALL the stuff to validate and
    parse this string because bea has already done it in: com.beasys.commerce.foundation.expression.*;
    but the only source of documentation available on those classes is the Javadoc(which
    isn't that complete). Has anyone used these classes before(Search, Expression,
    Criteria, Logical)? Does anyone know of some documents on how to use them?
    Please help if you can. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

  • Report query parsing problem

    I didn't find any report of this problem...
    Using APEX 3.0.1.00.07, I have a report of type "SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query)" with the "Use Generic Column Names (parse query at runtime only)" radio button selected.
    When the region source contains the string "ORDER BY" in any form that I've tried (even in a comment), attempting to save the region fails with "Your query can't include an "ORDER BY" clause when having column heading sorting enabled."
    I do indeed have column sorting enabled on certain columns, but I don't see how that is relevant under these circumstances since the query produced at runtime does not have an ORDER BY clause.
    Am I overlooking something or is this a parsing problem?
    Rodney

    Rodney,
    It's just checking for order by being included in your query, and if so and you have column heading sorting enabled, it's raising this error because you can't have both (even if it's commented out).

    I connected my sons Ipod Touch to my pc and it worked fine. Now, when I try to connect my iPad the following message comes up: One of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message.
    I checked the cable. It surely is not the cable. If I connect the iPod again it works fine. If I use the same cable with my pc and ipad at work or my other son’s laptop, it is working perfectly. It is only on my laptop where the iPod was connected. Something tells me it got something to do with the drivers that went corrupt or something when I connected the iPod.
    I searched the internet and I see a lot of people gets this message. Still no solved answers yet. Is there a place where I can download the drivers again or any other suggestions?

    Kind regards,

    I was hoping it would be something like a USB device conflict, but now the shuffle is the only thing connected...
    This article was one of the ones you linked to above in your initial post
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1369
    Under Part 9. Verify that USB drivers are installed, did you try the steps in If only "Unknown Device" appears?  That appears to be your situation.
    Also, you said that the shuffle initially worked well enough to do a sync, then it had the same problem again.  If you can get it to work again initially, before doing anything else, try the following.  Select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES.  Over to the right, go to the Summary tab.  By default, the checkbox for Enable disk use should be unchecked.  If so, check it and Apply the change.  See if that makes any difference.
    (If Enable disk use was already checked, try unchecking it and Apply the change.  Basically, set it the "other way" and see if there is any improvement.)
    NOTE:  When disk use is enabled, you have to eject the iPod in iTunes before disconnecting it physically.
    If the disk use change makes a difference, that may provide a clue about the actual cause.

  • Query Manager SQL DateDiff and Parameter Problem

    I’m having trouble with a date calculation in the Query Manager.   I’m wondering if anyone has run into something similar.
    I am trying to write a query that returns records that are X days old, where X is a parameter input by the user.
    Here’s an example – you can paste this into your system and duplicate the issue:
    <b>SELECT T0.DocNum, T0.DocDueDate FROM ORDR T0 where datediff(dd, T0.DocDueDate, getdate()) <= [%0]</b>
    Returns a date error code if you try to input an integer (e.g. the "Define Survey Variables" dialog is looking only for date values)
    However
    <b>SELECT T0.DocNum, T0.DocDueDate FROM ORDR T0 where datediff(dd, T0.DocDueDate, getdate()) <= 30</b>
    Works just fine.
    Any ideas?

    Merci Daniel,
    I too am using SBO B1 2005 A (PL 22)
    I should have expanded on my original problem.  I have tried using CAST and CONVERT in the following ways:
    <b>SELECT T0.DocNum, T0.DocDueDate FROM ORDR T0 where datediff(dd, T0.DocDueDate, getdate()) <= CAST([%0] as Integer)
    SELECT T0.DocNum, T0.DocDueDate FROM ORDR T0 where cast(datediff(dd, T0.DocDueDate, getdate())as Integer) <= [%0]
    </b>
    also
    <b>SELECT T0.DocNum, T0.DocDueDate, cast(datediff(dd, T0.DocDueDate, getdate())as Integer) as Date FROM ORDR T0 where Date <= [%1]</b>
    Nothing seems to work (although I could be getting the syntax wrong)

  • LG Ally text message and gps problems

    hello. ive been with verizon for about 10 years maybe. ive been overall happy with the service and customer service. but the prices should be alot lower.lol. i started out with the motorolas then switched to the lg phones. only problem with the motorola was the speakers. not loud enough. could never hear the phone ring. the lgs usually suffer from the same problem.
    i had a few phone problems but nothing like this lg ally. im on my second one and about to be my 3rd one in about 3 months. 1st phone i had every problem under the sun. this phone i am suffering from text message problems and gps problems. i suffer from what everyone else has problems with. the messages wont send. they will eventually lock up. it will show the envelope with the red explanation point ( i think thats the graphic). then usually everytime when i sent a text the texts will close. it will send then bounce back and show up as a draft and i have to resend it and wait for it to go thru. finally the last problem with the texts. when i send a text a phone number from my contacts shows up and freezes on the screen. its in white text with a black background. its the same number every time. it stays on the screen until i restart or pull my battery out.
    gps. when i open up google gps that comes with the phone i make sure the gps is on... when the directions are found and the map pops up 9 out of 10 times it just keeps saying searching for gps. the turn by turn never is found. the 1 time it does it takes a good 10 minutes to be found. atleast on my first one ally the gps did work 8 out of 10 times. it just took a good 5-10 minutes for gps to be found and show turn by turn.
    anyone else have these problems? where you able to fix them or did you need to get a new phone? the 2.1 update was supposed to fix problems. i think they just made it worse. the ally is supposed to have 2.2 froyo. where is it. is it ever going to get it. i got this phone because i like the lgs and the keyboard. also the sales representative on the phone was giving the lg ally rave reviews. why couldnt he say dont buy this go with a motorola droid. this phone is the biggest junk ever made

    I do apologize you are having trouble with your device I looked in our information system on the LG Ally in reguards to issues you are having it states if you have the Free Droid Security anti virus protection application down loaded it will cause the phone to lock up or freeze. Check and make sure you do not have the application on your device. Check you GPS settings and make sure correct. Go to Settings; Location & Security; make sure GPS is on wireless network. If this does not fix issue you can try doing a Master Reset on your device. Make sure your contacts are saved in your G-mail account or through Back Up Assistance.
    Master Reset/Soft Reset:
    Factory Reset option 1
    From the main screen, touch menu tab
    Touch Settings
    Touch Privacy
    Touch Factory Data reset
    Touch Reset Phone
    Warning: This will erase all data from your phone, including:
    Your Google account
    System and application data and settings
    Downloaded Applications
    It will not erase: Current System software and bundled applications; SD Card files, such as music or Photos
    Factory Reset option 2  - Warning this will reset device back to original factory settings.
    Turn off the phone
    Press and hold "home" + "end" + "volume up or down" keys together for a few seconds when the device is power off
    Once device displays boot information, release keys.
    Soft Reset
    Press the Power key.
    Touch Power off.
    Touch OK.
    Press the Power key to power on the device.
    or
    Remove battery cover, remove battery and reinstall.Also there is a new update for LG Ally it will be the Froyo 2.2 but there is not release date available at this time it will post on your device when available. Hope this Helps. Leslie

  • IPod Shuffle 2nd gen and Mac problem/troubleshooting guide

    Ok, warning this is going to be a little long...
    The problem: Brand spanking new out of the box ipod shuffle 2nd gen won't play songs after ipod assistant setup. Flashing green/orange lights. Also will not update or restore (greyed out). Shows up as formatted for Windows. Software and Serial show up as "n/a".
    System specs: Powerbook G4 17inch 1ghz, 1gb RAM, 10.4.9 running iTunes 7.1.1
    Attempted solutions that have NOT worked:
    1) mac retail store visit to genius bar. it restored on mactel machine. worked and played songs. unfortunately resyncing to my library caused ipod to return to problems above immediately.
    2) another mac retail store visit to genius bar, this time with laptop to show them the problem. they told me it was my machine not the shuffle. i explained i am a mac sys admin and that is ridiculous...my machine though a few years old is completely up to date. we then deleted all receipts out of the Library dealing with iTunes and reinstalled iTunes via software update. same problem immediately after the setup assistant. no software version and no choice to update or restore ipod. downloaded the ipod reset utility for mac for 2nd gen shuffle and error message shows "the selected ipod is not supported by this utility". also shuffle icon shows up as generic white ipod. mac genius stumped so they swap out my brand new shuffle for another brand new shuffle.
    3) 2nd shuffle in a week and same problems occur. will not update in iTunes. will not restore in iTunes. will not restore in ipod reset utility. icon shows generic white ipod. i can copy music to it but it will not play, lights flash green and orange.
    4) tried to use disk utility to reformat. erase using MS-DOS, but it says FAT16 instead of FAT32. same problems as above.
    *weird that I can't reformat to FAT32 when selecting the MS-DOS format. I only see FAT16 as a choice. Disk utility should do FAT32 but I can't seem to get it to work on shuffle and i don't have a spare hard drive to test it on. Anyone have any experience reformatting ipods via Disk Utility to windows format? Please share...
    At this point I have access to a mactel book and will attempt to fix it on the newer machine. I will be very upset if it works because there is nothing saying that you need new hardware to use the new shuffle. i also get the usb 1.1 error message but again there is nothing saying you need usb 2.0 for shuffle use.
    if anyone has tried anything different with good results please respond! from my experience this seems to be an issue specifically between older mac ppc machines and the new windows drivers installed on the shuffle. i use windows drives all the time with my mac and there are no problems. however a brand new ipod shuffle 2nd gen out of the box does not seem to like my older machine...even after two reinstalls of itunes! even the reset utility is not working as described....
    any help with this is much appreciated!!!
    Powerbook G4, 1ghz, 1gb RAM, usb 1.1, 17inch Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Ok here it is, my final post on thoughts on this issue...
    Unfortunately, my guess was correct, there does seem to be a hardware issue related to iTunes 7.1.1 and whether it is on a mactel machine or an older ppc machine.
    I can confirm this because the ipod settings screen on my older PPC powerbook is TOTALLY different than the screen I saw on the newer mactel macbooks, even though the software version says its EXACTLY THE SAME! (iTunes 7.1.1)
    On a mactel macbook, I see the ipod shuffle settings such as "Autofill" etc with the correct icon and software version and serial number.
    On my PPC powerbook, I see a generic white ipod icon (even though the finder shows the correct icon of my 2nd gen shuffle) and the settings tab for the ipod is completely different....the update and restore continued to be grayed out, there is no software version or serial number available as well. This is probably why I am not able to register my ipod shuffle from my machine.
    I did not erase and resync the ipod shuffle to my PPC machine to see if that would allow it to continue working. So far so good. After unmounting, it still plays songs. However, I checked the "manage songs manually" option and added just one more song to the shuffle. I tried to then play that song but it would not play even though it was copied onto the shuffle...I could play it from the ipod via iTunes but not when I was just listening to the shuffle. I confirmed this with the application "PodWorks", the song I copied from my library does NOT show up in the list of songs on my ipod shuffle...however it DOES show up and play in iTunes.
    So I feel pretty stuck right now...
    I can have a working ipod shuffle but NOT from my ipod library. It seems I can only listen to songs off my friends newer machines because for whatever reason, the ipod shuffle DOES NOT WORK with a PPC Powerbook 17inch, 1ghz, 1gb RAM, 10.4.9 running the current latest version of iTunes 7.1.1.
    ***** to be me. Anyone else come to same conclusion?
    If this is real then other users with older macs should not waste their money on the 2nd generation ipod shuffle. Please respond if you have any suggestions or thoughts on this matter.

    Hi rbcjoker76, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    Sounds like some needed System Fonts wre replaced by bad ones. Y also have Font Book in Applications for validating fonts & checking for duplicates.
    Required Fonts from 10.3, much the same in 10.4...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2444?viewlocale=en_US
    You may have to get Pacifist...
    http://www.charlessoft.com/
    then intall the Fonts what you need from your Install Disk.
    Or do a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

  • Repeated retrieval and parsing of XML file causes IE to display an error message

    I have a flash application that makes a HTTP call every 120
    seconds to retrieve a xml file. This file is being generated with
    fresh data every few minutes or so and pushed to the apache web
    root with a unix mv command.
    I'm using the standard Flash XML object. The HTTP request is
    NOT over SSL (I know there is a bug related to this). Here is the
    code to make the retrieval:
    xmlData = null;
    xmlData = new XML();
    xmlData.ignoreWhite = true;
    xmlData.onLoad = xmlTraverse;
    xmlData.load("
    http://domain/dir/somefile.xml");
    The "xmlTraverse" method was written by my team. There is no
    known bug in the parsing logic.
    Intermittently and unpredictably, IE will display the
    following dialogue box:
    "A script in this movie is causing Macromedia Flash Player 8
    to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become
    unresponive. Do you want to abort the script?"
    I originally leaned toward an infinite loop causing this
    problem. The timeline jumps back and forth between two frames,
    checking in the latter frame if the xml has been loaded and parsed
    before allowing execution to move to the next frame. I hardcoded
    the loop check to always be false, but this did not produce the
    message above (although it pegged my CPU).
    The only scenario where I've managed to reproduce the message
    above is by making a huge (50 MB) xml file. This consistently
    produces the message. But I don't realistically see how our xml
    file could ever be over 1 MB.
    First, can anyone cite another cause for this message? I'm
    starting to lean towards the issue lying in our parsing logic such
    as infinite recursion on a badly formed XML file. Second, does
    anyone know of a solid xml SAX parsing actionscript utility where
    you can assign callbacks to XML nodes? If the problem is in the
    parsing, we may have to replace our homegrown solution with
    something more robust and proven.

    Is it a recursive parsing function? I'm not sure about this,
    but I think this message pops up when there are more than 256
    iterations in a loop (I've read something about this 256 limit,
    that will end while loops if they exceed this, but with another
    error message... but again, I'm not totally sure about that).
    The message is typically for loops, but I don't know when it
    fires. Sometimes it appears for really 'small' loops when you're
    using the debugger (e.g. a for loop with 100 iterations), so maybe
    it is connected to the time a loop is running. You could place some
    trace statements in the xmlTraverse method, to see where the
    function was when the message occurs, or take the time the function
    needs and check if this might be related to the error.
    That's all I can come up with, guess there are people here
    with more insight to this...
    cheers,
    blemmo

  • Error executing a query (validity interval problem in variable)

    Hi all,
    I have an issue in a query.
    While executing the query  i am getting following error
    "THE VALIDITY INTERVAL HAS THE INITIAL VALUE AS LOWER LIMIT"
    There are two CALMONTH variables that are being used in the query and are also used as selection variables
    1) interval characteristic mandatory variable
    2) single value characteristic mandatory variable
    Please suggest me what might be the problem.
    Any suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks

    Hello,
    I tried debugging my query in RSRT and i have found a possible reason for that.
    My query was built on a multiprovider in which data was not loaded in one of the cube.Since no request was loaded in the infocube initial fields of all time characteristics were empty which was the reason for the error.
    Thanks once again for your valuable inputs.
