I pod Transfer Please Help

Hi I am selling my iPod to my friend and he wants all my music thats on there also. How do I prepare the iPod so when he syncs it to his Pc it keeps the files and does not erase them. I want to keep my library intact because i have another i pod

Since he did not purchase the music, giving him the iPod loaded would be illegal file sharing.
Select the ipod in iTunes and click Restore.

What the heck i-pod! please help me!

My old laptop had too be taken away, and so i had to use my old desktop which i haven't used in a couple of years. so anyways i really wanted to download new song on my i-pod and so i installed i-tunes and all those good stuff but then when i connect my i-pod it doesn't show it as a source and also says something about how i needed to re-install the latest update of i-tunes because i-tunes wasn't commucnicating or something like that with the i-pod. i re-installed itunes wayyyy too many times and it still didn't work and i am 199 percent sure that i have the latest itunes update but whenever i connect my ipod it still has the same problem which is that i needed to reinstall the latest version of itunes and its just really making me mad. will you please help me?!?!

Is your iPod online or offline? If it's offline or physically turned off; no power. Your only option is to physically go look for it. If your online and you set up find my iPhone with iCloud you should be able use that to help you, BUT if you did not set this up before you lost the iPod, I believe your back to physically go look for it, sorry. I tunes not detecting my Pod! Please Help!!!!

I have had my ipod for two years its a 20g model. When I was deleting music for new stuff I deleted alll my music figuring I could put it all back on later. A message came up sayin do you want to delet all of my music, and i said yes. when i reconnected it it said my ipod wasnt detected and whenever it goes on it is just a blank screen. Please Help!!!

Right, I lost all the songs off my Ipod the other day! I have reset it to factory settings and have all the newest updates and when I plug the Ipod in it says it's updating but the songs dont go on it. When I go into music, it is blank. what the F**K is going on. Please help!!!!!

Connect your iPod to your computer. When it appears in iTunes go to edit-->preferences and click the iPod tab. Click the music tab under that. Click the bubble next to automatically update all songs and playlists and click OK.
If the iPod is set to automatically update and is showing that it is transferring all of your songs but they are not on your iPod, see this...

Itunes library won't transfer, please help.

Just bought a new PC and I am setting up two users. I followed the instructions for transferring my Itunes library via my external HD. It let me transfer mine (I am the admin) but when I follow the exact same procedure for my wife's user account it wont let me. I can hold down shift and see the library I copied to her music folder but it never lets me "Choose Library". It just opens the folder all the way down to a specific song. Any help would be great. I've been searching for hours. Thanks!

I get both options to choose as well as create. I used choose when I did mine and it worked.
I did copy her entire itunes library.
This is exactly what is in the folder that I copied...

I do not see a .itl file anywhere.
I just looked on my file I copied that worked on my user name and I have (3) Itunes Database Files on it.

Damaged batterry? Wet i-pod nano- PLEASE HELP!

I know there is already loads of topics like this but please here me out. I recently got i-pod wet. I tried to turn it on immediately-which I now know I shouldn't have! It said it was charging-which it obviously wasn't! so I turned it off and let it dry out. Now 5 days later it won't turn on. I've plugged it in to my computer and tried to reset it but all that is happening is picture of the battery with a triangle exclamation mark over it is flashing on the screen.
Is the battery dead? It is less than a year old, is it covered under warranty (I'm guessing not!) Is it just the battery? Could I get a new one?

I can guaranty you, its more than just the battery. If you've ever seen pictures of a discected nano, there are electronic components to the wheel. It's pretty much ruined. Need to buy a new one.

HT1373 PC to MAC ipod transfer, please help!

I recently downloaded music from iTunes onto my iPod from a PC. I want to keep my music but when I plug it into iTunes on my MacBook, it won't let me. Is there anyway to transfer the music from my ipod to my mac?

How many songs do you have (gigs of music)?
Are you sure that you are on a usb2 port?
If it is a new ipod and the library is large then it can take quite a while. Up to several hours as the ipod sets up all that it needs to give the options to run. It isn't just copying songs.
Also note that the ipod does not have the cpu resources of a desktop computer either.
Just leave it alone and go watch some tv or something.

If you have an iPod Touch running iOS 4.3.3 or later, you can download the songs in the purchased tab of iTunes on the iPod.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Songs I bought won't transfer... please help!

Firstly, I am a techno-dunce and tend to avoid forums as I never understand the language used in the answers to my questions... so please help me but keep it veeeeery simple!
My Ipod was registered to 2 computers in Ireland, where I was living, and I bought tunes on one of the computers from the Irish Itunes store. Everything was synched to my Ipod... so far so good.
When I left Ireland I did not have any of my CDs so was advised to use something available free on the internet, xilisoft?, to get the music onto my computer, which I did, putting an Itunes library on my new coputer with all my music in it, including the songs that I had bought online.
I am now living in Australia, and my Ipod is registered to my new laptop. (I had no idea there was a limit to number of computers you could register an Ipod to, and now have no access to the old computers to deregister them.) I have bought a few things through Itunes library over the past couple of years and wanted to make sure everything in my library was in my Ipod so I synched it last week.... and got a message to say that more than 40 tunes cannot be transferred to my Ipod as they are not authorised to be played on this computer! It seems that the tunes I bought on the Irish computers will not transfer but the ones I bought on my brother's computer in the UK 2 years ago, have transferred fine. I am baffled as to why there should be any difference between those bought in Ireland, Uk, or Australia, since they were all bought on my account in my Itunes library.
I am pretty ****** off as I paid for them in the understanding I would have them for keeps, not realsiing that Itunes may decide I actually can't have ethem, after all!
Because I have zero technical knowledge, I have no idea what to do about it. I would really appreciate any help you can offer, but as I said, please keep the language and instructions extremely simple...!!!!!
Thanksps I don't know what kind of Ipod it is, I am guessing it is the classic, it's about 6 years old and doesn't do anything fancy like the newfangled touchy ones. I am using an Acer laptop with Windows, if that has any bearing on anything!

I have a similar problem, although not exactly the same. I downloaded two full albums. For each album, there is one song that cannot be copied to my iPod (tried w/ 1GB Nano and with an older Shuffle). In fact, every time I try to copy these songs to an iPod, I hang up not just iTunes, but my entire OS 10.3.9 system. A reboot is required to end the hang and get back to normal.
These songs are on my computer. They play properly. The only thing is that I cannot copy them to my iPod. Any ideas why not? (All the other songs from the same albums copy without any problem.)

Make a smart playlist of your whole library but only checked songs - #4 on http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1801
Highlight all files in that playlist, then drag to the other drive. This isn't preserving any playlists or whatever, just copying files from one drive to another.
You might want to delete the smart playlist this once you are done because it will probably gobble up resources with that many files.
