I purchased a Maxx at FULL retail price (out of contract) to keep my unlimited data. An unauthorized/illegal change was made to the plan and all VZW could do was offer me $20 in credit.

As the title says:
I purchased a Droid Maxx at full retail price (approximately $540) to keep my grandfathered unlimited data. An unauthorized/illegal change was made by my younger sister (who is not an account manager and stole the information from my mom) to the plan and I was not notified within the 14-day closing period to revert the changes. For the record, both my mom and I are account managers, my younger sister is not.
I went in to my account (and changed all the information) and found out that when changes are made to the account online, you have to send an authorization text to one of the phones--however, you can send this authorization to ANY of the phones on the plan, so my sister sent it to hers (instead of an account managers).
So, the only reason I found out about this change to my plan was via a text message telling me I was "approaching max data," which of course should not happen with unlimited data. My younger sister did not tell anyone she made the changes.
When I found out about two (nearly three) weeks ago, I called Verizon to open a ticket about it. They did, said they would call/text me back a few days later--they didn't. One week later I made another phone call to see what the status on that ticket was--the rep said that the other rep was supposed to call me, but didn't, and so he pushed the ticket again. Lo and behold, another week later, still no response from VZW about the ticket. So I called again only to find out that the request to revert the data plan back to unlimited had been denied.
I spoke with that representative for nearly 40 minutes and all she could offer was some unwanted advice about what to do about my sister's behavior or that "I'm so sorry that someone would do that." I told her I wasn't looking for consolation, but for a compromise on either getting my unlimited data back, or refunding the difference between contract and full-retail price of the phone. I threatened to leave VZW because of this and all she could offer was a measly $20 credit.
I have filed a BBB complaint against Verizon Wireless for this issue as an illegal change that goes unnoticed past the 14-day closing period should be addressed in a more urgent manner.
I have also reached out on Reddit and Twitter, because obviously calling the VZW support does nothing to alleviate my situation. I am very dissatisfied with how VZW is handling an illegal and fraudulent change on my account that has shafted me out of 500 dollars.

You seam to be focusing your anger at Verizon and not your sister. Verizon followed the rules and required IDs and passwords to access the wireless account. You and/or your mother are supposed to safeguard that information.  Your sister has committed the felony by stealing your mothers identity for personal gain.
You say "I am very dissatisfied with how VZW is handling an illegal and fraudulent change on my account that has shafted me out of 500 dollars.'  My question to you is who made the illegal and fraudulent change to your account?  Verizon or your sister? Keeping in mind your sister had all the correct IDs and passwords,
I'm sure if you went to Verizon and wanted to make some changes to your account, and you had the correct IDs and passwords, you would be upset and angry if they put you through the 3rd degree because they thought you were committing fraud.
Good luck to you, (seriously) whatever happens,

  • Have to buy at FULL Retail price????????

I am not due for an upgrade, but I thought that if I extended my current contract by 2 years that I could get the $199 price but NO, Verizon things I will pay full retail price to get it now.   That is messed up.  Guess I'll wait for the iPhone 5.

So much for loyalty!  We stuck with Verizon through thick and thin and now they won't let us upgrade early.  If they really want to show us that they care about our loyalty the Execs at VW would waive the upgrade eligibility restrictions and let all existing customers upgrade to the iPhone if they so choose.  To send an email to us thanking us for our loyalty and commitment to VW and then not offer early upgrades is a disgrace.  Why have I stuck with VW so long?  I have no idea....we will be looking for a new carrier soon.
It all depends on when you upgraded last. Keep in mind that VZW often loses money on the phone discounts, which is made up through the bottom line cost of the monthly payments for the term of the contract. They care about loyalty, but not something that will damage their overall ability to make money or make up the revenue that was lost. They are not disgracing you in the least, but to some extent, you have to abide by the terms of the service that you agreed to. Just as much, if they did anything that defied their agreement, you would be unsatisfied.

  • Has anyone purchased the iPhone 4 full retail price?

I'm currently thinking about purchasing the iPhone at the unsubsidized price which is $700 for the 32GB iPhone 4. But my upgrade is available until May 8 of this year.
I'm a kinda impatient person but working on being patient but I really do want the iPhone.
Has anyone bought the iPhone 4 at a unsubsidized price or was it subsidized?
I'm on a family plan also and my sister line (primary) and my mother line (month to month non contract) is available for upgrade. I can use those I hope...
    Thanks...

Many people on here have bought the iPhone at the full retail price because their upgrade wasn't up yet. In your situation, I would advise you to wait until May 8th, it's a lot closer than most people's and it's a substantial discount when you wait. You'll save $400. Or as you've pointed out, you can use your sister's or mother's upgrades right now if they don't mind, and then whoever's upgrade you take can use yours on May 8th. That would also be a very good choice, rather than purchasing the full retail iPhone.

  • IPhone 4 'Full Retail Price"

Why is it that Verizon claims the iPhone 4's full retail price at $649 and $749 and the "discounted" prices at $199 and $299? The standard retail price for an iPhone 4 is $199 and $299. I can walk into any Apple store and pick up a 32gb iPhone 4 for $299 right now. So, why is this considered a "discounted" price by Verizon when, in actuality, I'm not getting any discount on it at all?

I'd like to see you go into ANY official Apple store and purchase an iPhone 4 OFF contract for the $199/$299 price.  You "may" want to read a little closer when you are viewing those prices.
Feel free to go to http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone and look at the little numbers beside the prices.  You should see a "2", and when you scroll DOWN the page, you will then see this:

  • I try to order other phones but find a data plan is required even for full retail price?

I try to place a order for other phones (to get used to the process) but find even if I choose the full retail price, I still have to choose a data plan.
So the question is that through verizonwireless.com, can I get the pre-order the verizon iphone 6 full price WITHOUT a data plan?

Please clarify what are you trying to do. Do you have an account now? Are you trying to get a new phone on an unlimited data line you already have?
If you are starting a new line, and you are purchasing, even for full price, you must have a data plan with Verizon. You cannot use WiFi only. Verizon policy.

  • Pre Order at Full Retail Price?

So I am not eligible for a 2 year upgrade, but am interested in purchasing the Iphone 4 at full retail price.
Does anyone know if existing vzw customers can PRE ORDER the Iphone 4 on February 3rd at full retail price.
I have been getting mixed answers, and I really do not feel like waiting up until 3am EST to pre order the phone if I can't.
    Anyone know?

  • Why did my plan change if I paid full retail price?

I bought a new Samsung Note 4 on Saturday at the local Verizon Wireless store, paying full retail price to avoid needing to make any changes to my existing plan. However, I received a data usage alert 10 minutes after leaving the store as my plan was reset to 2GB. I was told by multiple service agents that an IPR was placed to reset my plan back to unlimited. How do I get an update on the status of that request? There is nowhere to check on the Verizon Wireless website from what I am seeing. Thank you.

Congrats on your new device purchase carmencampise. I know how concerning it can be when you see your plan changes unexpectedly. If you purchased a new device at full retail, it should not have removed your unlimited data plan. I understand an inactive pricing request has already been filed. This is the correct step to readd your unlimited data plan back to your account. This process can take 5-7 business days to complete. Have you received an update on the request?
    Thank You,

  • Was just told some interesting information regarding preorder and full retail price by a VZW Rep

Just got off the phone with a rep on 611 who confirmed if you preorder you will receive the phone ON OR BEFORE the 10th. Now for those looking to purchase at full retail price, you will have to wait until the 28th. Don't shoot the messenger

    VZWSWAG wrote:
I am only telling you all what i was told by this one rep. Why would I make this up? I personally do not even believe it. At first the rep told me that if you preorder you wont get it until the 28th, then i went back and forth with her saying how that sounds rediculous. Eventually she spoke to someone else (i think supervisor) and corrected herself by saying if you want to pay full retail you have to wait until the 28th.
Ok I don't think you're making it up. Sorry. It's not anyones fault here that they're being misinformed. Like you said you don't believe it either. But, cmon it's ridiculous.
Anyone here ever work as a CSR? I have for a U.S. major bank  about 6 years ago. Here's how it works:
In fairness it's not REALLY the CSR's fault...
Any time there is some type of new promotion, thye herd in groups of CSR's at a time and they have a real brief meeting ("training") which barely covers the basics. They do this for 2 reasons.
1- Time is money and they lose money having reps off the phones. They cover the basics have a quick Q&A and then get them back to work. They are given, in reality, inadequate info. Basically just enough to be dangerous. LOL. This is TRUE!
2- The corporate suits purposely do not give the CSR's all the info. They don't want them spilling the beans and causing problems. Which in turn can cause even more problems.
Now that causes THIS to happen:
A customer calls in about the new promotion. They ask a specific question the CSR has no clue about how to answer. CSR does not want to sound stupid and literally just flubs his way through it rather than saying "I don't know".
Every CSR within hearing range, hears what that CSR just said and thinks "Cool", they start telling the same **bleep** to customers. By the end of the day EVERYONE believes it is FACT and uses it. Over time like any other tall tale or rumor it takes on a life of it's own.
Floor supervisors are in the same boat. They have maybe a TINY bit more info but, not much at all. They're asked a question they panic and literally make something up for the CSR to feed the customer.
It's actually an insane environment. I'm glad I don't have to do it any more.  But, the above scenarios I described happen every single minute of the day.
And then you have the really unethical sales reps who will slam you into an upgrade or "after-sale" to inflate his/her stats. That doesn't happen as much as it used to but, still does.
If you want the real answers, asked to be transfered to the supervisors, supervisor. Or possibly Retention.

  • Can i buy an iphone 4 at full retail price

I was wondering, im travelling to usa and i really want the new iphone, if i go to an apple store and tell them that im not from usa but i want the iphone, can they sell it to me at the full non contract price? i think they can because that's how i got the first generation iphone. i told them that i wanted to buy one but i wasn't from usa and that if they could unlock it for me, then they politely unlocked and sold me the iphone.
Can i do that with the iphone 4? thats supposing i can find one.

  • Still possible to buy iPhone 3gs at full retail price?

Just wondering, now that the 4 is out, is it still possible to go to one of the apple stores in Boston (travelling there soon) and buy iPhone 3gs 16gb at full retail price?
Is it also possible to buy the iphone 4 at full retail and what are the prices for either of these phones?
Because my mate once bought it in Best Buy and now (almost 3 years later I think) he could not buy it (at full retail price).
    Thanks in advance.

Only if there's stock left. The current 3GS is 8GB only. But apart from that I don't see why not.

  • IPhone at full retail price

If you are not eligible for an upgrade will you be buying the iPhone at full retail price?  I am not eligible for an upgrade so I'll be selling my Dinc and putting that money into the iPhone.

I have an upgrade, but if I didn't there is no way I'd pay $650 for a phone that's been out for quite some time. The only way I'd pay that much is if I had a nice phone to sell that would go towards the cost, like you. The only reason I'm not waiting for the iPhone 5 is because I figure I can sell the iPhone 4 and use the money towards the iPhone 5 anyways.

Unfortunately, this is a problem that is driven by the DRM Dictatorship.  Despite the proliferation of mobile devices and the fact that there are many of us who do a lot of international travel, content providers don't want you to have access to their products outside of your homeland.  The Balkanized mentality of the DRM Dictatorship is way out of touch with the modern world.
At least Apple, to its credit, allows you to use your accounts outside of your homeland as long as you have the proper credentials for them.  Most other services use the more Draconian geolocation filtering which does require you to be physically present in your homeland.  For the most part, you are not allowed to leave home if you want access to your favorite entertainment!

  • How do I get the plan and prices I was promised?

My husband and I have been T-Mobile customers for 12 years. But with this new "no contract" thing they're doing (whereby one pays full price for a new device, the perk supposedly being that one does not have to re-up for another two years), we decided we just couldn't stay. We were paying $150/month for unlimited  talk, text, and data--but in one last attempt to get us to stay, they offered us a discount on data that would have brought our bill down to $130/month.
So on Thursday, July 24, I called the Verizon sales line (800-813-3334) and talked to a very nice sales rep named Pamela (she goes by Pam). Pam told me we could get iPhone 5Ss for $99.99 each, and that if we got unlimited talk and text with a two-year agreement, they could throw in 2g/month of data for free. If I bought an additional 2g of data per month (we have literally never used more than 4g per month, so that was fine), our bill would come to $130/month. Perfect! Exactly what T-Mobile had offered us, but with FAR cheaper phones.
I told Pam I would need to talk it over with my husband, and asked if any of these offers were going to expire in the next few days--she said no. I then asked if I had to call her back directly to get these offers, and she said no to that too, but gave me her direct extension just in case.
It took us a week to look at other plans, call other service providers, etc., so it wasn't until Thursday, July 31 that I was able to call Pamela back. I got her voicemail and left her a message. Two days later (Saturday, August 2) I hadn't heard back from her (which I thought was odd, given that I made it clear in my message that I wanted to switch to Verizon), so I called and left another message. I waited a couple of hours and then, getting impatient, decided to just call the general sales line (without using her extension) and take my chances.
Whaddya know, I happened to get Pam! I told her about the messages I'd left, and she told me--get this--that she didn't call me back because her voicemail hasn't been working for the past couple days. (Um. You work for a PHONE COMPANY. How can your voicemail be down?!) Anyway, I said I was calling to double check the prices she had quoted me on the iPhones. She said that promotion had ended "on the 17th" (keep in mind that I called her for the first time on the 24th. Did she really quote me prices from a promotion that had already been over for a week?!), but that we should be able to go into a store in person and get it that way.
While I had her on the phone, I also checked to be sure that the 2g/month of free data promotion was still on the table. She assured me it was, and that it was a "back to school" promotion and probably wouldn't end until late August or early September. Excellent.
Armed with these promises, the hubby and I went to the Verizon store in a nearby mall. When I told them we expected iPhone 5Ss for $99.99, I got blank stares. To their credit, they offered the same price in a slightly roundabout way: if we paid the current price ($199) that day, we could get half back in a rebate on August 7. Fine (although, at this point, I'll be surprised if I actually get it, but that's a battle for another day). I then told them about the 2g/month free offer Pam had promised. More blank stares. The sales guy (Soto--really nice guy) asked for Pam's number and extension, told us he was going to call her and try to get the promotion code, and suggested we take a stroll around the mall while we wait.
When we got back to the store, Soto had tried Pam's extension "8 or 10 times" and only gotten her voicemail, so couldn't get us the free data. We went with the cheaper plan anyway--2g/month--so that our bill would stay at $130, along with his suggestion that we try calling Pam again today to get the free 2g added on after the fact.
I don't know why I should be surprised, but I only got Pam's voicemail again. After leaving a message, I called the general sales line back and got Dmitri. He had, predictably, never heard of the 2g free promotion, even after putting me on hold and "looking everywhere he could think to look." He offered to put me in touch with customer service, who may be able to contact Pam directly to get whatever code she was talking about and get me the 2g/month free I was promised. The rep I was connected with (whose name I'm afraid I have forgotten) listened to my story, put me on hold while she tried Pam's extension, and came back to tell me that she, too, had left a message. Meanwhile, she was able to give me 1g/month free for 1 months, which is a start, but not as much as I need.
One thing she did say--and this REALLY ****** me off--was that perhaps the reason why Pam isn't calling me back is that she doesn't have the code that would get me the 2g free, and doesn't want to have to tell me. If that is true, WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THAT?!?!
So Pam, if you're listening, please get back to me and give me the 2g/month free data you promised me. And if you don't have the right code, talk to your boss--and their boss, and their boss, and their boss--until you can get me what you promised me. Because if I left T-Mobile for some mythical data plan that doesn't exist, I'm going to be REALLY ****** off. I think if that's the case, Verizon should just let me out of my 2-year contract and let me go back to T-Mobile. They may not be the best, but (with me, anyway) they have always done what they said they would.

Hello Snosilla! I'm so sorry for all the confusion and for all the time taken to activate service with us! I do see that the iPhone 5c is $99.99 right now. The iPhone 5s is actually $199.99. There's no need to call Pam anymore, we can take over from here.
I've followed you in the forums. Please accept me, and follow me back. Then, send me a Direct Message and I can look into this for you. If you do not have an active line yet, I may need to get you through to our activations department, but I will do all I can!

How do i change the country of my credit card, ie it was registered in the UK and I have moved to Australia, but it won't change the region to Australia for me to put my new details in.  It says that it must be a UK card...

    Go here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. They can clear the remaining balance for you so you can change countries. You may, however, wish to just create a new iTunes Store account in the Russian store. Otherwise you may lose the ability to update any apps you purchased in the US store.
    Regards.

  • I just changed my residence to the US and now I cant register my new US credit card on itunes cause the state list doesnt match to the US states, what should I do?

I just changed my residence to the US and now I cant register my new US credit card on itunes cause the state list doesnt match to the US states, what should I do?

Your credit card info, billing address must be the same country as the iTunes store country you registering.
For example, you can’t have a credit card from a U.S. bank with  a U.S. billing address registered in the iTunes store for China.
I tried to change my payment information too, but it happened the same, I can change the information but when I get to the state part, it only shows the other country states
Remove all payment info and save it.
Then change the iTunes store country to U.S., add a U.S. credit card with a U.S. billing address.
As previously suggested, if this does not work, contact iTunes store support.
