Make sure your headphones are plugged all the way in. The white plastic on the headset jack should be flush with the body of the nano.

The YouTube app is not included in iOS 6. When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I'm wondering if restarting the computer might help but have been afraid to do so in case it would make it harder to recover anything...I was looking at this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4211589?start=0&tstart=0 in the hopes that it might have a helpful suggestion but it's definitely a different scenario.

Another way is to open your Time Machine back up or clone (if you have one) and copy the App Store app from the /Applications to your Macintosh HD's /Application folder.
Right click on the Time Machine icon in the Menu Bar.
Select Enter Time Machine; then navigate to a date you know it was still there and copy if from the /Applications folder.

You can't delete the settings icon form an iPhone. so it either ended up in a folder with another app, or in another screen.
You'll have to look for it.
You can use Spotlight by swiping down from the middle of the screen, to search for it. If its in a folder, it will tell you which one.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

If you backed up the device, you should be able to recover it from the backup unless you somehow deleted the backup. See if it isn't recognized by iTunes, then restore it from backup.

You can not delete built-in Apps. You must have accidentally moved it into another folder.
Try the following...
Try searching for it using Spotlight.
Try a reset. Press and hold the Sleep and Home buttons for about ten seconds, ignore the red slider, until the Apple logo appears then release. This is the equivalent of a re-boot. You will not lose any data.
Try resetting the Home Screen Layout
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout

I just upgraded my iTunes to version 11 on Windows 7. I lost all my Playlists. They are still on my iPod touch 1st gen, but not in iTunes. How can I get them back?

I tried importing the iTunes Music Library.xml file, however it just duplicates the default playlists already in iTunes. The playlists are still on my iPod Touch, just not in iTunes 11. Therefore, I cannot manage and organize any songs into the existing playlists. I do not want to have to go through and manually create the playlists again. Any suggestions would really be appreciated!! Thank you!!

I found my playlists. They were never removed. It appears that iTunes 11 shows them in a different place. Which is kind of annoying. Even more annoying trying to add purchased songs to the playlists on your iPod.
- Click on the iPod button on the top right of your screen (beside the iTunes Store button)
- Click Playlists along the middle of the top of the iTunes window
There are the playlists from your iPod
Kind of frustrating to add the songs, but the way I did it is:
- Click on the song you want to add to your iPod playlist from your iTunes library
- Click the arrow beside the song and select "Add to Up Next"
- Go to your iPod playlists as per the above instructions
- Click on the list icon in the same bar as the Apple icon on the top of the window (it is to the right of the apple icon)
- Now drag that song to the playlist(s) on your iPod
I am sure there is a much simpiler way....I just dont have time to figure it out right now. If anyone has any simpiler way of doing this, please reply!!

right-click on any of your toolbars in a place where you don't have any buttons, and choose 'customize' from the bottom of the drop-down. You should see the + button in that group of buttons available. Drag it from that menu to where ever you want it on your toolbar. If you don't see it there, close that box and right-click on a toolbar again. This time, mark any toolbars that do not have check boxes with check boxes. Inspect your toolbars to see if the + button is on the wrong one. If so, choose customize again, and then drag it to where you want it to be. After doing that, you can uncheck anything you aren't using.
