I recently formatted my PC, I have lots of songs on my iPod which i don't want to lose, how do it put them onto the computer?

I have formatted my PC and I don't have my songs on it anymore, but all my music is on my iPod. Is there any way I can copy those files onto the computer without losing anything?
When I try synching my iPod it tells me that all data will be lost, so I don't know what to do!

Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of thse discussed here:
Copy music
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by righ clciking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does noytinclude synced media like apps and music.

If their app is not compatible, then there is a possibility that the app will crash every time you open it or some other way that makes the app unusable and then you would be unable to access that data. You should be able to hit the "Agree" button, if you are on an iPhone right now. On a Mac, you should just left click the button where it said "Accept". I hope this helped.
To quit the app store, simply hit these keys:
Than, you should come up with this window:
Select the app store with:
a) The up and down arrow keys
b) Your cursor
Than hit the 'Enter' button twice. This should close the app store. The force quit window is also accesible through the apple logo in the top left corner of the screen. It should say:

This happens with you are both syncing data such as contacts on your devices with the same iCloud account. This will result in the data being merged and synced back to all connected devices. To correct this you need to have different iCloud accounts on each device.
To do this, on the device that will be changing iCloud accounts go to Settings>iCloud and turn all data that is syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted choose to keep the data on the iPhone. After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. (This will only delete the account from the phone, not from iCloud, so the other phone won't be effected by this.) Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different ID, then turn data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to your new account. At this point you will have two separate iCloud accounts on each phone with identical data.
Next, you'll have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and delete the unwanted data (for example, deleting her contacts from your iCloud account and vice versa). These changes will be reflected on each device and things should now be fixed.

First, we need to know if the audiobook chapters are being treated by iTunes as music files or as audiobooks. If they are not audiobooks purchased from the iTunes store, they might be getting "shuffled". You will need to look at "File" - "Properties" (I think - I don't use iTunes under Windows - or right-click on the file and choose "properties") and look at the media type. If it is "Music", change it to "Audiobook". If this is not the problem, or does not fix anything, please post back.
Actually, looking at your post again, a second thought occurs to me - assuming there are less than 100 chapters in the book, just renaming them with a leading zero on the first nine chapters might do it. A computer will alphabetically sort filenames in the order you quote (1, 10, 11, 12, 13, ... 2, 21, etc.) but a leading zero will fix that (01, 02, 03 ... 10, 11, 12)

When you subscribe to iTunes match, you cannot selectively choose tunes to add to it, it's either or nothing. When you then enable iTunes match on your iPhone, none of the tunes are downloaded to your phone, you simply get a list of everything that is available in your iTunes library and the ability to download them as and when you want.

I need to format my iPod but I don't want to lose my files!

Hello, obviously I'm here looking for help lol.
The problem is this; I purchased my iPod mini December 2005 and never had any problems until several weeks ago. When I plug my iPod into my computer, it always says it needs to be formated. Seeing that, I do believe that it needs to be formated. However, I DO NOT beleive that all 435 songs including ones I purchased for should be wasted.
Someone might say I need to back everything up onto a data DVD from iTunes. The only way you can do that is if you're using the home computer of your iPod. Time went by and I have a different computer so I don't have all of my songs on my current computer.
Seeing how the computer recognizes the iPod (despite the fact it notes it needs to be formated) is there any for me to transfer ALL of my files from my iPod to a data DVD disk? It gets really frustrating to have an iPod that costs alot and knowing it's not working how it's supposed to & knowing music that I purchased are about to be whiped out.
So just wondering if there's any tricks or program/s I can use or do to solve this problem to transfer my files from the iPod to a DVD so I can format the iPod without losing everything. Thanks.

there are 3rd party applications that will do what you need. Use the search function or google.
That said, the fact you didn't back up your purchased songs to CD/DVD or external hard drive when you moved computers or just as a practical matter is irresponsible.
Those songs are files just like a Word document or anything else. If you don't back it up and your only copy gets damaged then its your own fault for not backing up.
In this case your iPod is not to blame for having the only copy. All hard drives die. Period. You are lucky you have time to back up your files off the iPod now before everything went. You need to have more than the copy on the iPod of your purchased songs. Back up or waste $400 bucks of music

My iPod Touch 4 is telling me it needs to restore but I have important photos, notes and files that I don't want to lose as I'm not linked to the Cloud or anything

My ipod touch needs to restore but I'm worried about doing that because I have so many important files on there which aren't linked to the cloud. I can't get into my ipod because it has the screen of the usb connecting to the itunes logo, so I can't do anything with it. Will I lose all of my photos and notes?

I have been using LR5 on a Mac mini. The LR was installed on an external drive. Now I would like to use Smart Previews on my Internal drive to take advantage of the speed. When I make previews they go to originals. How can I put them on the internal drive

when started with LR 5 on my Mac I used advise from Adobe's LR5 book, I installed it on an external drive, processing originals was a little slow so I decided to make smart previews on my internal drive to get faster processing. However the smart previews hook up with the originals and so there is no advantage just a bigger file. Is there anyway when I make the previews stay on the internal drive or am I locked in with the current setup. I can find no LR5 folders on the internal drive.

Are you doing a lot of spot removal or brushing?
This doesn't sound like a disk drive issue at all. Once Lightroom reads the file from the disk, and you are editing, the disk plays no further role. Using a faster disk drive here will not make the slightest difference.
So, I would check your graphics drivers to see if they are up to date. I would also temporarily disable your virus checker and firewall.
How much memory does your computer have? What CPU do you have?
How big (in megapixels, not megabytes) are the photos you are editing?

My computer shows the error, "This iPhone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library?" I don't currently have any songs on my iPhone but I don't want to lose my photos or messages?

All I am simply trying to do is put some songs from my iTunes playlist on my computer onto my iPhone.
By erasing the content of my iPhone I'm scared that I will lose all my photos and messages etc.

I have digital movies. Had to recover my computer. Now i-Tunes will not let me get them back. These were digital copies that I got with DVDs and when I put them in the computer i-Tunes took possesion of them.

How can I get these movies back when i-tunes now says there is nothing there to download. Where did they disappear to.

Go to the iTunes Store, log into your account, and click the Purchases link under the Quick Links. From there you should be able to re-download some or all of your purchased content.
