You will need to put the car stereo back into discovery/pairing mode. That may mean you removing the initial pairing of the device. See the user guide for the radio on how to put the device into discovery/pairing mode, and if necessary, how to remove the original pairing. If the installation didn't finish, maybe OS X 10.8.3 was installed partially, and it doesn't show up because the updater already updated the OS X version to 10.8.3, although it doesn't mean that everything was installed and updated. There is no way to update a 3G to iOS 4.3.x using approved Apple procedures (meaning using iTunes), so presumably you used a non-approved procedure to do it. You may now have an iBrick, but you can try to restore it to a supported version using iTunes and DFU mode. See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808. If this fails there may still be a way, but you won't find it in this forum. You need to try some iPhone hacking sites.

Yes, that was the terms of the warranty that you accepted when you purchased the phone. You had the option to purchase an extended warranty that would have covered it for 2 years, but you chose not to.

I'm not sure what you mean. Did you redeem the gift card to your iTunes Store account? If not, just give your brother the gift card and he can redeem it in his own iTunes Store account. If you did redeem the card, then there's no way to transfer the balance from your iTunes Store account to his. He'd have to use your iTunes Store account to make the purchases and sync to his devices.

Ideas for a car stereo/gps/Bluetooth for a 2006 honda accord

I need some ideas on how to get Bluetooth in my 2006 honda accord. I've been looking at car systems with gps and Bluetooth but it seems too expensive. I've also been looking at a Bluetooth device to install in the car. I just don't know how to install it or how to hook up the controls on the steering wheel. I've been to best buy....your sales people aren't that knowledgeable. The geek squad guy was but prices seem a bit high to install everything. I'm looking for opinions or if anyone has done the same to their 2006 honda accord.

alright well lets start off with some basics. are you using an Iphone or apple product? or are you using a android based unit?
with android it is a very big hit or miss on alot of the fuctions for your bt and or streaming music such as display of songs and such.
if you are using an apple device you should be solid, until a new update will make it not function properly. i say this because it seems that everytime there is an update apple gets rid of something that a customer of mine used and now doesn't have. regardless if you are an apple user you should be used to this by now though.

that product above will allow you to integrate into your factory stereo given that the certain radio that you have in your vehicle currently has the ability to. On the back of the box there are a few specifications for the radios to have. I don't have a box with me since i just sold my last one yesterday, but i know it has to have some buttons on the radio, and if they don't have the buttons unfortunately you won't be able to use this device, but on the box you will see those specs. I haven't really ever had a problem with the this module not working in a honda, but GM's and their module i have had some radios that customers have brought be and the device is not compatible with. Swing back into your local best buy ask them about the ISIM51 and getting that installed. yes it is expensive but i know your dash kit alone if you wanted to replace the stereo is wicked expensive also. hope this helps! thanks for the post. and also that price includes installation.

In most cars with built-in BT hands-free systems it is the car's system that does the speech to text conversion and lookup, not the phone's. so there's nothing that can be done in an iPhone forum to help you. Try the customer support site for the car. You can tell it's the car system if the contact list is downloaded to the car and displayed on the car's screen (if it has one).

Thats the problem I bought it from a very large thrift store. i went back asked the person where I bought the computer he said we can not give you the password. I thought buying it there was a good idea because not only was it a nice deal but it was like I was maknig a donation. I know that i messed up because i do not have the installation disk. the free apps are only for ios device (iphone ipad ipod touch) and do not work on mac computers. if you do get pages and numbers on your mac though you can sync the information using icloud

I have not downloaded the external drive's software onto my old Mac because of this concern. May I simply "drag and drop" the contents I want transferred to the external drive, then set up my new Mac with the drive and download there? or is there a better procedure? Comments? Help?

If your intention is to copy a just documents and data (word processing files and music for example) then yes, you can use drag and drop. If you want to transfer data and applications and permissions, it would actually be easiest to connect the drive to your old computer and turn on TimeMachine. Once TM is finished, connect the drive to your new computer and restart it holding the option key to get into Recovery mode. Then you can use the restore from TM option to transfer your data and programs to the new computer.
