I want to increase the variable length at runtime(When iam doing debugging).
Can any body tell me idea..

I dont think you can change variable length in debugging mode.
What you can do is if you variable is a character format you can declare it as string instead of character.
You can pack -unpack with leading zeros..and many other data manuplation.
But i doubt on changing the characterstics of the variable at runtime.
Look for some alternative data type for your requirement.

How to increase the default length of an attribute of a BO

I have created a BO.It is having one attribute called title of type String with default length 30.I deployed it and it is working fine.
Now i want to increase its default length to 256.I opened the table generated for this BO and increased its length.But, when i regenerating the code its length is again getting reset to the default length 30.I tried it through Dictionary perspective also.

You just need to change the UPPER and HEIGHT values for the MAIN window on the second and subsequent pages. Presumably, you have a different page definition for these pages? If that's not your question, then please re-phrase it.

Yes, you can upgrade it to 32GB, most on this forum recommend two vendors OWC (www.macsales.com) or Crucial. If you are in the USA use OWC, if you are anywhere else then Crucial. BTW here is s link to show how easy it is to install:

U can declare the variable of required length for eg.1000 characters like this
DATA: w_data(1000) TYPE c.
If u r not sure of how much length u will be getting then better declare the variable with data type string .
DATA: w_data TYPE string.

i use a abap webser where i've uploaded some JAR files into the mime repository.
Unfortunately the string length is limited by 40 characters and so longer file names are cut.
How can I increase the default string length? Does somebody know a workaround?

what i guess copying those jars should not create this problem.U just try in db using
"ALTER TABLE <table_name> MODIFY <column_name> VARCHAR2(<new, larger length>)"

Not an option. In Windows you can change display characteristics to increase text size but that would affect all applications not just PSE (you'll also probably need to select 'Use System Font' in Edit> Preference> General)
