I want to use adobe to convert aPDF file into a word document that I can edit. How??

I select a PDF file and then use adobe to open it .It then asks me do I want to "save" the file.I save it and when I open it there is nothing there? There is no option to immediately open it in word!
How does this thing work?

Good day,
After you've saved the converted file to your hard drive, you'll want to navigate to where it's been saved and then open it in Word.
Alternatively, you could convert your files using ExportPDF's web interface.  To do this, simply visit http://exportpdf.acrobat.com and click 'Sign in' at the top right corner.  Enter your Adobe ID (email address) credentials to log into the service. After you're logged in, you should see the ExportPDF interface, with a button saying 'Select PDF file..' to get the process started.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
David

Not stupid you! To, from PDF--it gets confusing!
To edit a PDF file, you need to use Acrobat. Depending on how much work needs to be done to the PDF, it may make sure sense to edit in Word, and then reconvert to PDF. Acrobat doesn't function as a word processor, so while limited changes to the text should be fine, extensive updates may not yield the results you're looking for.
That said, if you don't have Acrobat, you are welcome to try it for free for 30 days. For more information, see www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

If you are using Adobe Acrobat Pro all you have to do is open up your document and at the top left click on File and then click on Save as Other and then click on the first option Microsoft Word.

  • Convert InDesign File to a Word Document

I am trying to convert a file from an InDesign file to a word document and have fallen into a problem. I also have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and have tried to save my InDesign file as a PDF, so far so good. It looks perfect, but when I save the PDF as a .doc all of the text and pictures have moved around and the different frames used in InDesign have joined and there is no way to rearrange the pages like they were originally. I need to convert these pages to Word Perfect so that I can send them out and they can be edited. How can an InDesign file be saved to be used with Word Perfect? I thought if I converted it to a PDF and then to a word, everything would be fine, but the file isn't be converted correctly.

    > How can an InDesign file be saved to be used with Word Perfect?
Short answer is you can't do it easily. Didn't you post this question in
    ID forum awhile back?
If not, it was discussed there and you might want to search there. If it
was you, nothing's changed. What you want to do is just plain work and
you'll never get the same type of layout in a word processor as you will
    in a pagelayout application.

  • How do I convert a file to a word document

How do I convert a file in pages to a word document so I can attach it to an email?

This is pretty infuriating. There is NO way to SAVE AS a Word document. You can only export it to Word. I'm getting increasingly irritated by people saying 'That's the same as a Save'. No it's not!
At home I have a Mac, but at work we use PCs. I don't have Word on my Mac (or Pages on PC, obviously). When preparng documents at home, the ability to Save AS a Word document has been crucial. Now that has been removed. I am being forced to shell out for Word. Once I have Word (a far better application than Pages, IMO) I will simply cease to use Pages.
Why would Apple want to force dual-platform users to purchase one of their rivals products? Especially when this would mean less people using Pages as a result? Baffling, yet somehow not surprising...

  • How do I convert a pdf file into a word document? I have a form to fill out.

    Hi, lnquisitive.
ExportPDF and CreatePDF will both convert a PDF to an editable Word document. I would recommend you subscribe , give it a try, and let us know if it works for you. You have 30 days to get a full refund if you're not satisfied.

  • How do I convert a pdf to a word document so I can change/add/alter a current resume?

I have a resume but only in pdf (the original word document was lost bc my old computer crashed.)
I need to convert a pdf to word
    how do you do this?

In Adobe Acrobat you can save as Word.

  • Converting a PDF to a Word document that maintains formatting

I am trying to convert a PDF to a Word .doc and it when I select the Export to Word Document option, the formatting goes crazy.  Is there a way to maintain the formatting from the .pdf  to .doc?

Not really in Acrobat no. If the original document used proper tagging you'd have a better shot at it but those are rare.
There are PDF to Word converters that do a better job available. Try Google and you'll get many options (can't vouch for any personally).

  • Converting pdf file to a word document

I'm trying to convert a pdf file to a word doc during the trial period but I'm having trouble. Does anyone know how I can achieve this?

Windows does not really tell us the OS. There are many variations, including 32 and 64-bit systems.
Anyway, assuming you are using Acrobat XI, you to to File>Save As and select to export to WORD. You should find 2 choices, retain format and retain flow or somthing like that. You should probably try both.

  • I have a 6x9 Word document that I can't convert into a 6x9 PDF (even with the correct settings in place!)

I'm trying to prepare a Word document for CreateSpace.  In the Word document the page size is set at Custom, 6"x9".
When I go to print it as a PDF, I select "Custom" and set the parameters at 6"x9".
Then the resulting PDF is still on 8.5"x11", with only half the page (the right half) with text on it.

    Hi Peter,
Here's how I get custom pages in my PDFs:
In the print dialog, select the Adobe PDF Printer.
Click the "printer properties" link near the printer name.
In the Adobe PDF Document Properties dialog, click the "Adobe PDF Settings" tab.
The fourth setting on the list is "Adobe PDF Page Size".
Click the "Add..." button on the right.
In the Add Custom Paper Size dialog, type a Paper Name (such as "My 6 x 9" or "custom 6 x 9").
Enter the size in the Width and Height fields.
    Click Add/Modify.
Now, in the "Adobe PDF Page Size", select your custom page size from the list. The list is in alphabetical order.
    Click the "Print" button.
Your PDF should be in the custom size.
You can check this in the PDF properties (File > Properties).
    Regards,
    Charlene
