ICM Admin Script to export user variables to log file

Hi,
Is there a easy way to export/report the values of user variables to a file in ICM 7.x?
These are global variables set in admin scripts for open/close flags and looking to see at a glance what the values of all the variables are at a given time throughout the day without having to monitor each script/etc that uses them.
I was looking at maybe an admin script to write the values to a text file every x hours/minutes/etc but am kind of new to ICM scripting and not seeing a step there to do this and not sure if this is possible or if there is another way.
Have a script where supervisors can force open/close different queues for reasons (weather, etc) and trying to add way to log when a change was made for historical purposes and troubleshooting just a text file or something easy.
Thanks, Erick

Only three years later but in case someone else is ever looking this should get you started. First, be sure your vars are set to persistent and replicated to an HDS. You can then extract this data from the Persistent_Variable data. It will require some joins to the User_Variable data to get a nice solid query.

  • Sun IDM 8.1.1P2: Export user records to xls file Functionality Issue

    Hi All,
This is my first post in this form, please guide me to right path.
We implemented custom functionality to search user records from AD and LDAP from IDM User console. After searching the records we provided a export functionality to export resultant user records to xls file.
The issue is the number of exported user records to xls file is not same as the number of user records while search.
This functionality is working good in our Development and VALenvironments but not with the Production environment.
I checked the custom jsp file and the calling Rule from all the three environments and they are same.
From VAL and PROD server.log I see the following.
PWC1406: Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception
java.lang.IllegalStateException: PWC3991: getOutputStream() has already been called for this response
But this error message didn't stop VAL to export same number of records to xls file.
    # of records serached from PROD is 16809
    # of records serached from VAL is 10312
They are constant all the time.
    # of records exported to xls from PROD is 168 or 1274 (It is varying, each time I export it shows different number)
    # of records exported to xls from VAL is 10312 (Always same as search)
    We are on Glassfish V2.1.1P8.
I checked file sizes from VAL and PROD both are same.
It would be great if any one can point me to the right direction where else I have to check for possible cause.
    Thanks,
    Ravi Mangalagiri

    Hi Arjun,
Thanks for responding to my post.
The search is working as expected in all 3 environments DEV,VAL and PROD.
The search and alignment performed by the Rule where as DB connection and Saving to XLS performed by the custom JSP file.
Since search is working fine I don't think any permissions issue with AD or LDAP.
Couple of things I noticed from server.log from all environments
    SEVERE|sun-appserver2.1.1|javax.enterprise.system.container.web|_

This is logging when the custom jsp is executing.
getOutputStream() has already been called for this response.
I am not sure if this is the root cause, since it is logging in DEV and VAL also.
    Other things I noticed are.
Yester day I conducted 10 tests and all are taking 6 min 18 sec or 6 min 19 sec or 6 min 22 sec.
Also I noticed that the number of user records exported to xls depends on the transfer rate.
    For example,
if the file download transfer rate is 1.50 KB then the user records are between 1200 to 1800 where as the search user records are 16590.
if the file download transfer rate is 800 B then the user records are between 200 to 600 where as the search user records are 16590.
Not sure where to check this time value(attribute) 6 min 18 sec..
Please provide me some info where else I need to check.
    Thanks,
    Ravi.

  • Can we run ICM Admin script every mimute ?

    Hi
I have a requirement to run one Admin script every minute , does it make any overload to central controller ? . Anyone is using the same in production system?
    Regards

I concur, I have a customer with many admin scripts checking time of day every minute for different locations and this is extremely busy contact center and we have never seen any related performace issues.

  • How to using variable in log file name on ODI 10.1.3.5?

    Hi,
how can i put a my variable into my log file name?
    now I use this syntax --> ExRate_<%=odiRef.getSysDate("MMddyyHHmm")%>.log.
But I have a variable for example #server, the value = "oracleProd" and i want to put the variable value into my log file name.
so the result that i want to get is --> ExRate_oracleProd_<%=odiRef.getSysDate("MMddyyHHmm")%>.log
so how can I apply the variable value to my log file name? I try using odiRef.getSessionVarList(#Month) but it didn't work.
    Thanks.

    hi,
    You can by
    ExRate-#server-<%=odiRef.getSysDate("MMddyyHHmm")%>.log
Note that I have changed the underscores to dashes. This is because ODI will assume that this is a wildcard/escape character.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Needed: Script for exporting iPhoto albums into a file structure

Hello all! I have no experience with AppleScript, but I heard it should be possible to write a script which helps to copy/export a iPhoto album structure into an according directory structure. Does anybody already have such a script?
Thx for any information on that!

    Thomas,
I have created an AppleScript along with the TextCommands OSAX that duplicates all of the albums in iPhoto to a folder called "Albums" on the desktop. It is quite slow because of the need to open an Info window in Finder to get the path to the original photo but gets the job done.
If you wish it could be modified to provide an ability to select individual albums for duplication. Let me know if you are interested in the latter. I am also seeing whether the album structure can be created directly in a burn folder so that CDs/DVDs can be rapidly burned.
TextCommands is donationware and available at the following location:
    http://osaxen.com/files/textcommands1.0.1.html
and should be placed in the following location for the AppleScript to see it:
    ~/Library/ScriptingAdditions/
click here to open this script in your editor<pre style="font-family: 'Monaco', 'Courier New', Courier, monospace; overflow:auto; color: #222; background: #DDD; padding: 0.2em; font-size: 10px; width:400px">property PathToDesktop : path to desktop as string
property PathToPictures : path to pictures folder as string
property PathToiPhotoLibrary : PathToPictures & "iPhoto Library"
property PathToiPhotoAlbums : PathToiPhotoLibrary & ":Albums"
property PathToCopiedAlbums : PathToDesktop & "Albums"
    tell application "Finder"
    activate
set theCopiedAlbumsFolder to duplicate folder (PathToiPhotoAlbums as alias) to desktop
set theAlbums to folders of folder PathToCopiedAlbums
set theExtraneousFiles to files of folder PathToCopiedAlbums
    delete theExtraneousFiles
    repeat with anAlbum in theAlbums
    repeat with anAlias in anAlbum
-- need to use GUI access to grab the path to the original photo
    open information window of anAlias
    tell application "System Events"
    tell process "Finder"
-- grab the path to the original file
set PathToTheOriginalPhoto to value of static text 2 of scroll area 1 of window 1
    end tell
    end tell
    close window 1
-- need to remove some extraneous material and convert to AppleScript path format
    tell application "TextCommands"
    split PathToTheOriginalPhoto using {":", "../"}
set PathToTheOriginalPhoto to item 4 of the result
set PathToTheOriginalPhoto to search PathToTheOriginalPhoto for "/" replacing with ":"
set PathToTheOriginalPhoto to (PathToiPhotoLibrary & ":" & PathToTheOriginalPhoto) as alias
    end tell
(* unfortunately there seems to be bug in duplicate file to another folder so must use a copy, , delete the alias, move, and clean up name of copied file sequence to accomplish the equivalent *)
-- duplicate the original in the original album folder
    set theCopiedPhoto to duplicate PathToTheOriginalPhoto
-- Delete the alias in the Copied Album
    delete anAlias
-- Move the copied photo to the Copied Album
set theCopiedPhoto to move theCopiedPhoto to anAlbum
-- Remove the "copy" from the photo names
set NameOfPhoto to name of theCopiedPhoto
    tell application "TextCommands"
set name of theCopiedPhoto to search NameOfPhoto for " copy" replacing with ""
    end tell
    end repeat
    end repeat
    end tell</pre>

  • User Variable Options: How can I use them in a Business Rule?

How can I use a "User Variable" set in File / Preferences in a Business Rule? It doesn't seem to appear as an Essbase Substitution Variable or as a Global Variable of Business Rules. The only way I know how to use it is to place the dimension on the POV or Page dimension of a data form, then use a Global Variable in a run time prompt to pick the member and run a BR against it, or some function of it.
What do I do if I want to have that dimension in Columns or Rows? How can I set a BR to directly reference the member chosen under User Variable Options?
    J

Thanks Alp, but I can't seem to reproduce what you are writing below. I want to refer my Business Rule to address the value set in File / Preferences / User Variable Options; no matter what members I show elsewhere in the data form.
My other workaround is through a run time prompt and hope the user selects the appropriate user variable at the very bottom of the selection list in order to calculate the appropriate list of members.

  • Need script for exporting images to EPS

I need to write a script to export a whole bunch of files from Indesign CS3 to EPS files. Right now we do them one at a time...here are the steps we take that we would need included in the script...
Select all (Control A), ungroup, convert to outlines (control-shift O), export (need to be able to say black or white or RGB) and then close the file without saving.
and if there was anyway to loop this script for 20 files at a time that would be really helpful.
Can any help or direct me to a website that can help.
    Thanks!

  • A powershell script to export then delete exported items every month .

    Hi all ..
We have an exchange 2013 server running on windows 2012 server .
I have a mailbox "MB1" hosted on a database with some other mailboxes .
I want to build a powershell script to export MB1 to a .PST file every month to a shared folder with the name of the month automatically , for example , \\fileserver\share1\November.pst
after export to PST , delete all messaged in MB1 , to be empty and ready for the next month .
please, if you have a script for this or KB or guide ... please reply me
    Thanks alot .

The script you are asking is not available handy. It must be something that has to be written. Start Developing a a script and ping back for any assistance. To help you start of with your script you can include this.
    1. New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox MailboxName -FilePath \\MBX-01\PSTFileShare\MailboxName.pst2. Next Step is to check if the ExportRequest was completed. You can use If Condition to check the same.If((Get-MailboxExportRequestStatistics "MailboxName").Status -eq "Completed"){Search-Mailbox MailboxName -DeleteContent -Force}Once you get hold of the logic, you can schedule to run the script once in a month using Task Scheduler.

  • Exporting log files

Is there any way to export the mobile service log files? It's very tedious to have to look through them page by page.

    This may help

  • Persistent User Variable in ICM

I was wondering if anyone knows what the maximum number of persistent user variables that can be configured on an ICM Enterprise platform. I understand that these are logged to the Logger database so there has to be some limitation.
I am going to be needing to use about 265 persistant User variables, I just wanted to check if anyone could see any issues with that?

    Hi David,
I know it is a lot but it is for a self service IVR that is interfacing to a credit card transaction back end, so we will need to keep unique sequence IDs for 240 different unique transaction numbers.
For instance example when a call is received it will be given a transaction ID such as 480020001, this will then be be combined with a sequence number (0001-9999) to give a unique Transaction ID. When the call completes successfully, we increment the sequence number for that transaction ID. The problem is that we have 240 of these transaction ID's and each will have it's own sequence number...
I was thinking that the ICM user variables could be used rather than a database lookup. However I have not ruled out the database yet or any alternative options, as the scripting for the variable would be a real challenge.
    Thanks,

  • Executable or batch script for end users to export mailbox to PST

We are in the process of taking over a small firm and proceeding with manual migration of mailboxes from this firm , currently we do not have full access to their environment and having a hard time depending on admins of their organization dealing over
to exporting mailboxes and then importing them back to our exchange environment,  my idea is to rather provide a executable or batch script to user's of their organization get their mailboxes exported out directly from end users  so that we do not
have to depend on remote organization's admins for every single user out there . is there a batch script or some executable code that end users can run to have their mailbox exported out directly ?

Seems like, this informative article would be a good approach to resolve your concern :

Moreover if you wish, you may also give a shot to this automated solution (http://www.exchangemailboxtopst.org/) in order to accomplish this job in more easier and quicker way.

  • Solution Manager ICM Admin Account user id and Password

We have upgraded from Solman 3.2 to 4.0(Windows 2003 Server, Oracle 10.2). While trying to access ICM from MMC, it is prompting for ICM admin account user id and password. Please let me know the default user id, password....

    Hi,
Use the link below which shows steps need to setup the administration user. This user is then used to monitor and administor the ICM from a browser.
