Iconic menu-items like in ms-office

is it possible to show the icon of a menu-item and also the text of the menu-item?
When I switch the "icon in menu" property to "Yes" then automatically the "Label" isn't visible.
In Excel e.g. you see the icon and the label of the menu-item side by side.

Is it possible to display both label and icon in a popup menu item?
if yes ,
where to place the icons?are there any parameters configurations requirements?

  • Hide menu items like you can in Acrobat?

When creating PDFs in Adobe Acrobat, you can set some ViewerPreferences:
    * Hide Menubar
    * Hide Toolbars
    * Hide Window Controls
These settings can be set via "Document Properties" => "Initial View" => "User Interface Options"
I can't find these in LiveCycle Designer. How can I change these? I'm lousy at scripting, so if anyone has an sample, that would be invaluable.

    Hi,
I have a form here: http://assurehsc.ie/blog/index.php/2010/05/script-to-access-acrobat-menu-items/  There is a link to the PDF in the post.
This shows the execMenuItem()'s that are available to you. Not all of these are exposed due to security issues.
Some of these may help you.

  • Alt+mnemonic key is not working properly for Menu Items

Assume there are two menus , File Menu with mnemonic Alt+F
and Save Menu with mnemonic Alt+S. File Menu contains the
menu items like PageSetup with Mnemonic S. Save menu has
the menu item Properties with Mnemonic P.
Pressing Alt+F opens the File Menu which has the menu item
PageSetup.Pressing S activates the PageSetup menu item.
Similarly Pressing Alt+S opens the Save Menu which has the
menu item Properties. Pressing P activates the Properties
menu item acion. But Pressing Alt+P also activates the
Properties menu item action(it is not the desired behaviour)
Pressing Alt+Mnemonic key has to open only the Menus. It
should not consider the menu items.
STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
    1.Press Alt+F
    2.File Menu is invoked
    3.Press S
    4. Invokes the menu item action
    5. Press Alt+S
    6. Save menu is invoked
    7. Press P
    8. Invokes the menu item action
    9. Press Alt+P
    10. Invokes the menu item action
    EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
Pressing of Alt+Mnemonic key invokes the menu and also menu
item actions. If the same mnemonic is present in the Menu
it is giving the priority to Menu only.Pressing of Alt key
alone does not hiding the pull down menu
    Expected Result;
Pressing of Alt+Mnemonic key has to list out the pull
down menu only.It should not consider the menu items with
the same mnemonic. If Alt key alone is pressed the pull
    down menu has to hide.
    REPRODUCIBILITY :
This bug can be reproduced always.

  • Create an context menu item to open a file on a specific display

    Hello,
I have an external display connected to my MBP, but I don't always need to use it so it's not always on. I'd like to have a way to open a file (or application) on a specified display on a case by case basis. I know that I can assign an application to open on a specific display by right-clicking on the app in the dock and selecting options->assign to. The problem with this is that it's a global change. When I'm working on school work, I usually like to have reference material (pdfs, wepages, etc) open on the external display while I'm working in Word on the MBPs monitor.
What I'd like to be able to do is right click on the file (or app) and use a context menu item to open the item on a specific display. Does anyone know of an automator action/applescript/terminal command to create a context menu item like this?
    Thanks.

I use "Open Terminal Here" script for that:

  • Can't get menu items to be displayed

    Hello,
The answer to my problem is probably quite simple but I can't see it and its driving me crazy, basically I can't get my menu items to be displayed like file, create and search. But what ever I add to the file menu items like open or save isn't displayed and I don't know why I think it may have to do with the action listeners but I'm not sure how or why or it could be because of where it is placed in the code, but again I'm not sure. Any help will be appreciated thanks!

It's because you are mixing Swing components and AWT components. The menu items are actually displayed, but they are hidden behind the panel with all the buttons. Things will work fine if you change the following line:
Panel p1 = new Panel();  // This is an AWT panel. Use this instead:
JPanel p1 = new JPanel();Read more about it here:

  • New window for menu item

    hi,
i have published a menu as portlet, this menu contains item that link on forms and reports.
i want that when i click in these items, they display in a new window.
how can i do it please!

    Hi,
You can achieve this using javascript.
Give link url against each menu item like this
    In case of forms
    javascript:void window.open('MYBUGS.wwa_app_module.new_instance?p_moduleid=2043732057','subWindow','HEIGHT=300,WIDTH=500')
    In case of reports
    javascript:void window.open('MYBUGS_DEMO.EXAMPLE_WIZ_RPT.show','subWindow','HEIGHT=300,WIDTH=500')
You can change the height, width and url accordingly. The url is the run link of the component.
    Thanks,

  • Hiding built-in Menu items in CS3 (JS)

    Hi all,
Is there any option through javascript to hide ie. disable built-in menu items in CS3. Here our requirement is to hide the menu items like Hide Attributes, Hide Comments, Hide Processing Instruction in the XML palette. Have to disable in all the places.

What do I use for "SomeScriptMenuItem".
    I have tried...
    var myScriptMenuItem3 = myFileMenu.menuItems.add(myScriptAction3, LocationOptions.AFTER, "User...");
    var myScriptMenuItem3 = myFileMenu.menuItems.add(myScriptAction3, LocationOptions.AFTER, User);

  • Customize Menu Items

    Hello Experts,
Can I customize the menu for any user ?, like I don't want to show HELP Menu item to all. Can I block Help or some other menu.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Shazad,
i am sorry, but you can not block menu items like Help / edit etc. You only could customice the B1 menu it self. But in my opinion there might be a possibility to customice the program menu. You should ask at SDK forum.

  • Cannot open HFM ( menu items greyed out) in workspace ( weblogic\IIS)

    Hi,
    Following is the configuration:
HFM on IIS on server1. Port 80
Planning on weblogic\IIS on server 2.
Workspace on weblogic\IIS on server 3. Port 80.
With this combination, I can see planning menu items in workspace and can create an application. But the HFM menu items like "Create app" are greyed out and on clicking throw an error that the module is not configured.
If I run the configuration utility again on workspace server ( server3) and deploy workspace on weblogic\Apache ( changed from IIS to apache) , both planning and HFM are available to me and I can create HFM apps.
My client wants us to use IIS and also we have heard that support for Apache will be withdrawn over time.
Any ideas on how I can use IIS on the workspace server and get HFM to work with it.
Another question is - can I change the default HFM port from 80 to some thing else while running the configuring tool for HFM.
    Thanks.

I'll steal my answer from this topic from a prior post.
It's useful to know which versions of the software you are working with. I will assume you are on the latest release.
If you are using a separate web server and application server and are not using Apache as the web server you need to deploy pieces of the Financial Management system. Please read page 52 of the following installation manual: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epm_manual_deployment.pdf
You can also deploy the HFM Web components directly to the Workspace server which may be a bit easier to setup.
Once you have picked the chosen direction and made changes to HFM you will then need to re-deploy Workspace App Server and Web Configuration.

  • CS4-menu items greyed out ????

Why are my menu items greyed out until I hit a tool icon?
Example .....open Photoshop, click "FILE" = everything greyed out except "recent" whose submenu (list of recent files) greyed out. If I hit any tool icon, menu items appear.
ALSO .....eyes on layers have no effect ubtil I click elsewhere, navigator panel empty until I click an increase or decrease there, etc. I need to always click elsewhere for something to happen.
I am running Vista Ultimate with a high capacity video card. I removed all my plug-ins, I ran PS4 script-cleaner and re-installed applic 3 times - same damn problem.
    Any ideas .....please?
    Thank you.

Try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776?tstart=0
You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
(A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.)

  • Missing menu items, iMac OS9 anyone?

I have an old 333MHz iMac, I just installed OS9.2.1 on it but there are some strange problems:
1# There are some missing menu items, like 'Restart', 'Select all' and 'Get info', the keyboard shorcuts don't work for these either.
2# There is a modem in the computer but this does not show up under the 'Apple System Profiler'.
I have reset the PRAM and the System seemed to install OK. All extensions are on.
    Anyone any ideas?
    G4 DP 1.25   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

    Hi, Mike -
    You're quite welcome.
When you open the Modem control panel and attempt to connect to the modem, do you get any message indicating the port is already in use? If so, it is probably AppleTalk interfereing - it can do that even if AppleTalk has been turned off. To fix that, in the AppleTalk control panel reset AppleTalk to use a different port - if you need it for the printer, select that; otherwise, select an unused port such as Remote or Ethernet.
It may also help to trash the file ASLM Preferences and restart.

  • Menu Item Icons

    Hi,
I was wondering if there was a simple way to add an icon to the specific items in the menu bar. I see that there is a property in the portal file to select an active, inactive, and rollover image; but using them will replace the page/book title. I would like to have both an icon and the title visible.

    Hi
Try one more thing using the css file(s). Take any existing look and feel like default big horn look and feel. Add that to your project from Project Explorer View. By default all the files are in shared modules for look and feel stuff. Overwrite custom.css file with specific stuff related to Menu. First try just by changing like Fontsize, color for the Menu Items. Then you can modify .css files entries for Menu by adding Icons images in css file itself. If you want to control specific menu items only with different icons, you can do more customization.

  • Adding icons to menu items

Okay, I'm a newbie at Java. I have a problem that I'm trying to solve. I added icons to the File menu item, that was easy, but how do I add icons to the other menu items? They are DefaultEditorKit. actions (cut copy paste undo redo) I can't seem to change their names either.

    Hi,
unfortunatly you cannot change the properties of Action object as you would do with JavaBeans. Instead you have to use the 'put' method.
    eg.:
myAction.put(Action.SMALL_ICON, new ImageIcon(...));IMHO this was a bad decision, because it's not like the JavaBeans standard and you loose static type information. :-/
