IconItemRenderer does not override getCurrentRendererState()
I have an ItemRenderer that I've been using for a web app's List, now I need to convert that app into a Mobile App. I am trying to use the optimized IconItemRenderer to display that same item. My Previous Code has:
override public function set data(value:Object):void {
super.data = value;
value_ti.text = value.ProdValue;
invalidateProperties();
override protected function commitProperties():void {
setCurrentState(getCurrentRendererState(), (mx_internal::playTransitions as Boolean));
super.commitProperties();
override protected function getCurrentRendererState():String {
var state:String = super.getCurrentRendererState();
if (state == 'normal') {
if (data.date_purchased != null) {
state = 'sold';
} else {
state = 'normal';
} else if (state == 'sold') {
this.mouseEnabled = false;
this.mouseChildren = false;
return state;
With the code above, I figured I would simply change the ItemRenderer to an IconItemRenderer, and would solve the problem... though... Flash Builder gave me the Error: 1020: Method marked override must override another method. Refering to the method: getCurrentRendererState();
I figure getCurrentRendererState() does not exist in the IconItemRenderer...
Is it possible to achieve the code above through the IconItemRenderer?
Short answer: You'll have to reimplement your itemRenderer. It is unclear from your code snippet how you have implemented states.
Longer story:
The IconItemRenderer extends LabelItemRenderer which extends UIComponent.
Mobile ItemRenderers are implemented differently than MXML ItemRenderers. They are more like Mobile Skins than Spark components, or Spark ItemRenderers. States are really just a fantasy; and you implement states by making changes to children, colors, or other visual elements manually in updateDisplayList(); or if you follow the MobileSkin conventions, in layoutContents() and drawBackground().
The method you're looking for is implemented in the itemRenderer class, which Mobile ItemRenderers do not implement. These are some blog posts I wrote on building Mobile itemRenderers:
https://www.flextras.com/blog/index.cfm/2011/6/17/Mobile-itemRenderers--6172011---Episode- 103--Flextras-Friday-Lunch
https://www.flextras.com/blog/index.cfm/2011/6/23/Understanding-Mobile-itemRenderers
https://www.flextras.com/blog/index.cfm/2011/6/24/Building-a-Mobile-ItemRenderer-in-Flex
I have one coming soon on implementing states in Mobile Skins; which will apply equally to itemRenderers. I'll go over most of the content in tomorrow's Flextras Friday Lunch episode

Oh, I see that the title of your post is an error message? Ok. Well, the test class is declared as implementing an ActionListener. That means the test class must have an actionPerformed() method. Your test class apparently does not.
It does not appear that the test class needs to implement ActionListener. You are using annonymous classes as listeners. -
Is not abstract and does not override abstract method tablechanged
I will remove all the gui code to make it shorter, but my problem lies with my InteractiveTableModelListener.

SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
public void run() {

createAndShowGUI();
}As i say, i have removed all the gui code to make it shorter, but in this code i create the table and add all the model to it. I am being returned with the error
Meet.InteractiveTableModelListener is not abstract and does not override abstract method tableChanged(javax.swing.event.TableModelEvent)in javax.swing.event.TableModelListener
what would be causing this error?
CheersSorry, just figured out my silly error, the method is tableChanged not TableChanged.
cheers

I think you forgot to include the skippedEntity method, it seems to be missing. Even if an implemented class has a method that you are not using, you still have to include the method in your code even if it doesn't do anything.

...is not abstract and does not override abstract method compare
Why am I getting the above compile error when I am very clearly overriding abstract method compare (ditto abstract method compareTo)? Here is my code -- which was presented 1.5 code and I'm trying to retrofit to 1.4 -- followed by the complete compile time error. Thanks in advance for your help (even though I'm sure this is an easy question for you experts):

2 errorsAccording to the book I'm reading, if you merely take
out the generic from the code, it should compile and
run in v1.4 (assuming, of course, that the class
exists in 1.4). I don't know what book you are reading but that's certainly incorrect or incomplete at least. I've manually retrofitted code to 1.4, and you'll be inserting casts as well as replacing type references with Object (or the erased type, to be more precise).
These interfaces do exist in 1.4, and
without the generics.Exactly. Which means compareTo takes an Object, and you should change your overriding method accordingly.
But this raises a new question: how does my 1.4
compiler know anything about generics? It doesn't and it can't. As the compiler is telling you, those interfaces expect Object. Think about it, you want to implement one interface which declares a method argument type of Object, in several classes, each with a different type. Obviously all of those are not valid overrides. -

Hello,
I've been creating a GUI from scratch, up to now, i have managed to successfully compile the code which forms the window, and a JMenu bar. I now need to add buttons, and for this i need to use an ActionListener, but when i put "implements ActionListener" at the end of "public class TestCode extends JFrame", i recieve the above error message (abstract..). I've looked at recent posts and have come across a post that says adding "actionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent e)" to the class will resolve the issue. When i add that, i recieve a compile error message saying to add '{' after actionPerformed. I've done this however it still does not compile. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Thanks
George

Web cam does not override iSight camera. Any suggestions how to do so?
I bought a Logitech webcam but cannot get it to work. The iSight camera comes on instead and overrides the web cam. Any way to fix this?
If your Logitech webcam is Mac-compatible, it should be menu-selectable in the app you are using. Different camera apps work differently. Your Mac's Help in each application should give you more info on how each particular app works, but here are a few examples:
• Messages:
• Photo Booth:
• FaceTime:
• Skype:
• QuickTimeX:
If your camera recognizes only one camera, apps may not display even the inbuilt camera in the menu.
Different iMovie versions support different cameras in different ways. Search your iMovie > Help for info on your version. -
Name does not override correctly when creating a Division from template
I am still having a problem when creating Divisions with the WebServices API.
Namely, when I create a Division based on a Template (in order to have a given default thumbnail image and description, etc) the Name parameter (the "title" of the Division, which appears next to its icon on the main site page inside the top level Section boxes) is never set correctly. The Name I specify for the Division never overrides the default.
In my example, I try to create a Division with name "Food Science and Human Nutrition." It is based on a Division template with handle 1911155332. The Name of that Division template is "Robot Division" and the ShortName is "RobotDivision".
I am sending the following XML via Web Services:
<ITunesUDocument>
<Version>1.1.3</Version>
<AddDivision>
<ParentHandle>1945525657</ParentHandle>
<ParentPath/>
<TemplateHandle>1911155332</TemplateHandle>
<Division>
<Name>Food Science and Human Nutrition</Name>
<ShortName>FSHN</ShortName>
<Identifier>RobotCourses:FSHN</Identifier>
<Permission>
<Credential>Authenticated@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:illinois.edu</Credential>
<Access>No Access</Access>
</Permission>
<Permission>
<Credential>Student@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:illinois.edu:RobotCourses:FSHN</C redential>
<Access>Download</Access>
</Permission>
</Division>
</AddDivision>

The Division is created and no errors come back. However, when I look at the site, the Name of the newly created Division is "Robot Courses" (not "Food Science and Human Nutrition" as I want). The ShortName IS correctly set to "FSHN" as I specified in the XML.
Incidentally this was part of creating a Course "FSHN 101," the Course is also based on a Course template, but it creates with the Name and ShortName as I desire and there are no other problems - I can log into the Division and Course as expected.
*QUESTION #1: Is anyone else out there ever having this problem?*
*QUESTION #2: Is there anything obviously wrong in my XML?*
I have tried this multiple times, always with the same result. Creating Divisions not based on a template works (but for various reasons we need to be able to use templates). I have been unable to edit the Name after the fact with MergeDivision either.
Our campus Apple contact sent in a ticket about this, but the response from Apple was to post here in the forum, which is monitored. I am unsure if I should post questions of this sort here in the Administrators Forum or in the general forum, for this one I will try both.
Thank you very much for any assistance.I am still having a problem when creating Divisions with the WebServices API.
<ITunesUDocument>
<Version>1.1.3</Version>
<AddDivision>
<ParentHandle>1945525657</ParentHandle>
<ParentPath/>
<TemplateHandle>1911155332</TemplateHandle>
<Division>
<Name>Food Science and Human Nutrition</Name>
<ShortName>FSHN</ShortName>
<Identifier>RobotCourses:FSHN</Identifier>
<Permission>
<Credential>Authenticated@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:illinois.edu</Credential>
<Access>No Access</Access>
</Permission>
<Permission>
<Credential>Student@urn:mace:itunesu.com:sites:illinois.edu:RobotCourses:FSHN</C redential>
<Access>Download</Access>
</Permission>
</Division>
</AddDivision>
</ITunesUDocument>

Item property does not overrides block property ?
I have CURRENT RECORD VISUAL ATTRIBUTE set to SOMETHING for block A. i also have CURRENT RECORD VISUAL ATTRIBUTE for item AA in block A ( A.AA) . but when i run form, it looks like item AA's CURRENT RECORD VISUAL ATTRIBUTE is not in effect ?
usually item's property should override block property. but it'snot happening here.. can anyone figure out??Set_Item_Instance_Property is a more specific control, so Set_Item_Property logically should not change it.
Create two package variables defined in a package specification in the form, trig_item and trig_record.
Change your WBP trigger:
Set_Item_Instance_Property(Pkg1.trig_item,Pkg1.trig_record, VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'');
Pkg1.trig_item := :System.trigger_item;
Pkg1.trig_record := :system.trigger_record;
Set_Item_Instance_Property(Pkg1.trig_item,Pkg1.trig_record, VISUAL_ATTRIBUTE,'SET');
Actually, a When-New-Item-Instance trigger might be better than the WBP trigger, so the same action would occur no matter how the cursor is moved around your form (Using Enter or Tab, or shift-Tab, or scrolling). -
Why StringBuffer does not override equals()
Is there any reason for StringBuffer to don't override equals()
WargoNot that I can think of. I'd expect two StringBuffer instances to be considered equivalent (equal) if they both would hand me equivalent results from their toString() methods. Instead, I guess someone at Sun decided that identity was preferable to equivalence for this class's equals() method.

Access Connections "Override home page" does not work with Google Chrome
I have different homepages set up for home and work locations within Access Connections. These work fine with Windows Internet Explorer 9 and with Mozilla Firefox 16. However, with Google Chrome 23 (my preferred browser), Access Connections does not override the home page. Since that section in Access Connections is entitled "Customize Internet Explorer, Firefox Browser or Google Chrome", it ought to work...
I am using a T520 with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.If Chrome does't display your webpages, then contact Google about it.
And for solutions, why not click a link at the right.
This one seems to have the answer :

Oracle dbms.set_role does not work in APEX application
Hi, in our j2ee applications, we use secure application role. Basically, the data source use the app user schema to connect to the database. the app user only has create session privileges. the database logon trigger will copy a set of attribute to the local secure context. (ip address, session user, client id, application name). The applications explicitly invoke the stored procedure sec_mgr.set_role before any DMLs are executed.
the sec_mgr.set_role will check the local context attribute , authorize the ip, application name, and set an appreciated role to this session based on session user.
we want to apply the same framework to the APEX application. First, we change the paring schema to the app schema which only has create session privilege. then we put the plsql code in which sec_mgr.set_role is called in the application builder --> shared components ---> edit security attribute ---> Virtual Private Database (VPD).
however, we got the error ORA-06565: cannot execute SET ROLE from within stored procedure
the sec_mgr.set_role is defined as invoker's right(AUTHID CURRENT_USER)
do i missing something in APEX to get it work?
ThanksPlease explain it does not work in APEX? Is the application updating tables that have a trigger? APEX does NOT override trigger actions. Is it possible the values your trigger is looking for are NOT available in your APEX application? Can you post the trigger code here for review?
Thank you,

JTree calling setSelectionPath() does not highlight new selection
I have looked throughout many forum entries and this question has been asked a few times but I have not seen a solution that works at least for me.
When I do the following:
TreePath path = new TreePath(...)
this.tree.setExpandsSelectedPaths(true); // not sure if I need this
this.tree.getSelectionModel().setSelectionPath( path ); // this alone should work correct?
this.tree.scrollPathToVisible(path);
The original selection disappears (no highlighting) but the new one selected does not
I have also tried calling just for fun ...
this.tree.getSelectionModel().resetRowSelection();
and this.tree.getSelectionModel().reload( path.getLastComponent() );
Does anybody have an idea of what may be going wrong ? The selection path is valid as I have verified it with the debugger.
Any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated
thanks
DougTreePath path = new TreePath(...)
The devil is in the details... Unfortunately your case's details are in the ellipsis! :o)
Try to provide an SSCCE to get informed help, otherwise you can only hope that we guess well. That being said, here is my "guess":
A preliminary: JTree renders selection by comparing nodes pathes with the selection path(es).
As is common in the Java world, these comparisons rely on the equals() methods of the objets that make up the TreePath's components.
If any of the classes involved does not override equals, the corresponding components objects will be considered equals only if they are identical. In other words, a TreePath which contain a "new" instance of whatever class that does not override equals() will never be considered equal to any TreePath created formerly.
Now comes the gory part: DefaultMutableTreeNode (which is the most often common build block of TreeModels and TreePathes) does not override equals().
So if your TreePath are made of DefaultMutableTreeNode components, they will never be considered equal unless they use the same DefaultMutableTreeNode instances, which would somewhat not be a common nor practical way of building TreePathes.
The original selection disappears (no highlighting) but the new one selected does not Under my assumption:
- the original selection disappears (because by construction the original selection's TreePath it is not equals() to the TreePath passed in argument to setSelectionPath(...)).
- no new selection is rendered (because by construction no TreePath in the JTree's model can be equals() to the TreePath argument).
Does anybody have an idea of what may be going wrong ? The selection path is valid as I have verified it with the debugger.Under my assumption:
- you may have verified that the TreePath seemingly contained the expected values (often rendered in a debugger using toString() calls)
- you may have overlooked that the TreePath components were not the same references.
- you may not have executed step-by-step the TreePath.equals() methods nor the equals() method of the path's components.
Keep in mind that this is just an assumption, based on your code fragment (and on prior painful experience with JTree). If i'm off base and you still need help, please post an SSCCE as sugested previously.
