IDE for debugging JSPs?...

Please help, anyone know of a good IDE for debugging JSPs? are there any
          that may be freeware?

Try converting the .jsp files to Java files then compiling to .class files
          and deploying as Servlets. Then you can easily debug with any debugger
          supporting WL.

  • Is there any IDE for compiling/debugging FlasCC apps?

    I want to use FlasCC for a large project, but I have no experience with GDB. Is there an IDE for FlasCC out there so I can do the compiling/debugging things (mostly debugging)? Or could anyone tell me how to configure one (like eclipse)?

    Since all iTunes content, with the exception of purchased ringtones, can be re-downloaded for free, your apps are already available from the "cloud" so to speak.

  • Good IDE for JSP/Servlets Development

    Guys, I was looking for a good IDE for JSP/Sevlets development. I for myself wouldn't need or atleast wouldn't want to have one, but for our production they say they need one. So please can u guys advise one. I have downloaded and tried JDeveloper but it just hangs, dont know but looks like its too memory intensive. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance

    IBM's Websphere Studio Application Developer (WSAD) is a good one. It can also connect to any CVS servers, which allows you to control the versions. Hope this may help you...

  • Please recommend IDE for JSP and Beans

    Hi guys,
    I am looking for a decent IDE to work with JSP and Beans. I have tried JBuilder which has too much going on at the same time and I find it to be an overkill for what I am doing; I find NetBeans kind of irritating. I develop web applications, hence I dont need any GUI stuff for beans.
    Just looking for something that will enable me to rapidly develop beans as a support system for JSP pages and at the same time, it should provide good support for coding JSP pages. Little bit of management functions wont hurt either, but are not required. I dont mind if I have to pay for the IDE. Any recommendations?

    I like Eclipse for Java Development, and I use the MyEclipse plug-in for J2EE development.
    There is a free J2EE plug-in (Lomboz) but I'd much rather pay the $29.99/year for MyEclipse. It's been perfect for me.

  • Debug ideas for navigation issue?

    The single navigation to another page I have in a project no longer works after switching from 1.1 to 1.2. I've checked and rechecked syntax differences and libraries, but run out of ideas to debug this further. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Using Sun RI 1.2 - 1.2_04-b16-p02 via WTP 2.0
    I can step through the entire method called by actionListener. The navigation to the new page just never occurs and no error messages.
    <h:commandButton type="submit" value="Confirm Selections"
    id="printJobs" action="success" onchange="submit()"
    actionListener="#{ConfirmBean.onSubmitJobs}" />
    <navigation-rule>
      <from-view-id>/FormSelection.xhtml</from-view-id>
      <navigation-case>
        <from-outcome>success</from-outcome>
        <to-view-id>/PrintConfirmation.xhtml</to-view-id>
      </navigation-case>
    </navigation-rule>

    Have you tried downloading the source of the RI and stepping through the NavigationHandler implementation?

  • Best IDE for JSP,Servlet ?

    Whis is the best IDE to code JSP and Servlets, i hope it includes a Debugger too.
    rc

    Hai shinoy
    YES, thats really true. but its not like NetBean if you see Eclipse plutin its very small.
    if you download Eclipse and without adding any plut-ins and starting it this time is very much faster than NetBean b'cos Netbean is using Modules. i tryed both i prefer Eclipse is good eventhouth the Visual AWT/Swint is not available default in Eclipse we can add it.
    i mostly prefer Eclipse more that JDeveloper,NetBean,JCreator,Editplus etc...
    just my knowledge is consern.
    bye

  • How to debug jsp program

    Thanks,
    I havenot used Oracle before I know that
    you could debug JSP in Visual Age for Java,
    but where could we debug jsp code,
    thanks,
    null

    You can debug JSPs and Servlets in JDeveloper locally in the IDE itself, or remotely.
    To debug locally within JDeveloper, simply place breakpoints anywhere in the source code and choose Run | Debug from the main menu. The JSP is run using Oracle's Web-to-Go server.
    Remote debugging requires a little more setup. See the online help for more information.

  • How to Generate a Java file for a JSP Page

    Hi ,
    I am using weblogic11 .
    I am working on a JSP page which nearly consists of 4000 lines of code.
    I need to debug the file , but weblogic server is not generating the java file for the JSP pages .
    Please let me know how can i genertae Java file for the jsp pages ??

    JSPs are compiled into servlets automatically and those classes are stored in WEB-INF/classes folder. Servlet engine handles servlets.

  • Ideas for developing new Mini project

    Hi All,
    we want to develop our programming skill by doing some mini project in Java technology.
    A group of 3 members want to involve in this project with IDE as JDeveloper. So anyone can suggest a mini project with some 10 days duration. We are strong in Swing-EJB. We also intersted to work in JSP,Java script. Also ready to learn new technology..
    So whichever applicable suggest us or give some ideas for the project to improve our skills.
    Note: we are one year experienced in java Programming.

    Hi Lrj1985,
    According to your description, in order to allow users to know the probability of collecting from a debtor dependent on different dimension, you nedd to produce an OLAP cube to perform this. Since you haven't done this for a few years, now what you
    are looking for is that the ideas, starting points or direction to build the OLAP cube, right?
    In this case, here are some links which describe how to build a cube step by step, please see:

  • Not able to see stack trace in JBoss IDE for eclipse2.0

    hello im using JBoss IDE for eclipse2.0 version for developing application. but the problem is im not able to see the errors/ error stack trace coming on console.i configured console but im not abloe to see any error. actualy earlier i was using eclipse3.0 but there i could not use the jsp file.i was not able to create a jsp page in my aleady developed application and also syntax is not highlighting in java file. so i switched to JBoss IDE for eclipse2.0 its using jdk1.3 version.
    can anyone help me..n can also tel me which version of eclipse i should use. and how to configure eclipse so that i can see the properly highlighted syntax of java code.

    I would advise against reverting to very old versions just because you can't get the new versions to work. Try to read the installation instructions and manuals of the new versions and try to get those to work.

  • How to start SAPGUI at entry point to RFC for debugging (using JCO)?

    Hi,
    I am calling an RFC using JCO and trying to have the SAPGUI pop up at the entry point to the RFC for debugging.  But it is not working on Mac OS X.
    I activate the debug via
       JCO.Client client = JCO.createClient(..);
       client.setAbapDebug(true);
       client.setSapGui(1);
       client.connect();
    it gives error:
    sh: line 1: /usr/sap/DV2/SYS/exe/run/sapgui: No such file or directory
    com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (103) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: Start 'sapgui' failed.

         at com.sap.mw.jco.rfc.MiddlewareRFC$Client.connect(MiddlewareRFC.java:1098)
    I then tried to set environment variable SAPGUI=/Applications/SAPGUI\ for\ Java\ 6.3r5.2/SAPGUI\ 6.30rev5.2.app/Contents/MacOS/SAPGUI
    and it then starts up the SAPGUI for Java Logon Pad.
    But, I want the SAPGUI to start up at the entry point to the RFC.
    Is this possible in Mac OS X?  It has worked before on Windows using the RFC SDK utilities or middleware tools such as IBM Crossworlds.
    Thanks

    Hi Robert,
    Thanks for the reply, it was very helpful as I had given up hope on getting a solution.  Unfortunately I am still getting an error.
    1) I created a script as per your directions containing
    "/Applications/SAPGUI for Java 6.3r5.2/SAPGUI 6.30rev5.2.app/Contents/MacOS/SAPGUI" -n -o $*
    2) Now the SAPGUI application starts, but does not open a window and I get the error:

  • Compile for Debug accelerator key

    Hello all,
    it seems it's not possible to set an accelerator key for the "Compile for debug" command, at least I cannot find how to.
    Any ideas? If it's not possible, I would like to suggest it for a future release.

    It's not possible currently, you can log the request over at the exchange sqldeveloper.oracle.com

  • Oracle SQL Developer Release 1.5.5 "compile for debug"

    Using Oracle SQL Developer Release 1.5.5 on Windows XP pro machine connecting to 9.2.0.4 database on AIX machine.
    Trying to debug a procedure, in the navigator window, I rt-clk the procedure and select "Compile for Debug", then nothing happens. This happens for every procedure I've tried. I've been granted both DEBUG ANY PROCEDURE and DEBUG CONNECT SESSION. Any ideas?

    This is the first I've used SQL Developer, so I'll take the blame. I had not noticed that the Messages Log does in fact tell me that the proc compiled. However, the debug icon (little red bug) was nowhere to be found.
    I see now that I need to Edit, not Open, the proc in order to debug. If I had read the Help screens a little more closely, I would have seen that I needed to be in Edit mode. My bad. Thanx to all for your responses.

  • Eclipse 1.3.2 window freezes issue, wrong IDE for win 7 or bad config?

    Hi everyone, this is my first thread on this forum...well this is my first thread ever.
    I wasn't sure where to post my question, but since it is veeeery noobish, I'm posting it here instead of the obscure 'other' development section.
    I installed the Eclipse IDE for Java Developers the other day version 1.3.2 for my OS which is Windows 7 x86.
    I installed the Java SE development kit 6 and had already the Java 6 runtime thingy installed way before I even considered studying computer science.
    The problem is that when I run the code below the Java popup window appears.....but it won't close if I click on the 'x' to close it :/
    Anyone knows the cause to this problem? It would save me a lot of time and mental sanity, I've been fighting with it for some time now.
    Thanks in advance.

    Nevermind gimbal2, the issue has been solved and I've had some time on my hands to figure out that the IDE wasn't giving me those problems in other istances other than the one I presented in this thread, it was the code itself :/
    Now I'm more aware and have started ignoring the feeling of helplessness of trying to learn a OOP language with such huuuuuge resources and APIs..The trick is to learn how to find answers. A forum shouldn't be your first visit, your brain is. Try to reason why you are getting certain errors or why something isn't working. If you get an error, copy/paste the part that is not specific to you into Google and see what you get. Mostly the error you get is the result of something else blowing up, look further and see if maybe something else was not working either.
    Sometimes you have to deeper. I have had occasions where I needed to download the source code of an API so that I could step through it in debugging mode. That in itself is for me a very good reason to stick with open source stuff only; debugging capabilities.
