ECC 6.0 IDES - SUPPORT PACKAGES

Hi Friends.
I' SAP PP Consultant. I installed sap 46c ides, support packages and all of this stuff for long time. I just download the SP 54 in my 46c ides some weeks ago, but no new functionality i found in r/3.. so i fed up of r/3 46c
Now, I want to learn the new func of ECC6 (like xSOP, xSTEPS, SCM), so I just install the ECC 6 IDES (w2003 server, SQL5, Athlon X2 4200, 4gb ram, raid). My instalation is OK, about 9 hours.
I didnt install the Solution Manager (i found one solman ID in the SDN, thks BOB!!!).
My problem is the IDES 6 has Support Package 002, so i need to install the SP 3 to 10 (pr the last stack). When i try to download SP from Marketplace (as i did with 46c), i didnt.
I want to know if I can download this stuff or is a must to download via SolMan (as i read on the help).
PS, if there any "trick" pls explain me.

You need to configure "Maintenance Optimizer" in the Solution Manager (check the IMG for steps to do that).
You need an official S-User number to confirm your download basket, then you can download the SPs.

IDE support for Generics

Hi,
All IDEs have a very useful feature where you can see what references what.
Suppose I have a method:
public void add(Person person){
}I can easily see who calls it.
However, suppose I am thinking of typing the method so I'd have:
public <T extends Person> void add(T person) {
}Does anyone know if any of the main IDEs support a search whereby I can search for methods calls of add() for this type Person (e.g. a Worker) and for that type Person (e.g. an Employer).

Yep, Eclipse will do this. I'll explain it using this example:

    private static <T> void method(T t) {}
}The normal way to get references to method() is using CTRL-ALT-H while having the cursor on a declaration or reference to method(). This brings up the call heirarchy and will show matches to a, b, and c.
Instead, what we want to do is put your cursor on method() and then use CTRL-H to bring up the search dialog. It should come up with the Java Search tab selected, with the default search text "Scratchpad.method(T)", and it should be automatically limited to References (that's what we want).
If I were to run it like that, I would again get a(), b() and c() as matches. However, if I instead replace "T" with "String", I would only get a(). Likewise for "Integer" and b(), etc. You can use fully-qualified names to make it more precise.

I believe any version of an IDE will support Struts 2.0. Its not the IDE version that's a consideration, its the version of the struts.jar files you put in your classpath within the IDE. A good IDE is Eclipse, its free and widely used. Search for 'Eclipse Europa' in google.

OC4j IDE support

Is Oracle9i™ Application Server3 is same as OC4j 9.3 ?
Which IDE supports to do remote debugging of OC4j 9.3 ?
Is JDeveloper free version will it allow debug OC4j 9.3?

I use Eclipse with OC4J, with debugging capability.
To debug, just run the following to start your server:
java -classic -Xdebug -Xnoagent -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,suspend=y,address=8888 -jar oc4j.jar
then remote debug using Eclipse (the server will not initialize until you start the debugging session using Eclipse).
Note that you will have to modify the address parameter depending on what port you run on.

IDE Support for Oracles Forms and Reports

Hi All,
I am beginning a software integration project and would really appreciate it if you could give me some guidance. I wish to find an IDE that will support Oracle Forms & Reports (6i and 9i/10g) development (in particular support for coding of .rdf and .fmb files) either natively or via a plug-in. Is anyone aware of such an IDE or plug-in? Thanks in advance.

IDE support of EJB

Is there any free add-in available that supports Entity-EJB 2.0 development for one of the following IDEs?
-eclipse
-netbeans
-JBuilder 5 Enterprise
-JBuilder 7
-Forte
If possible, I would like to have JBoss support.
JBuilder 5 EE supports EJB, but you need a valid Borland or BEA App-Server to enable the tools.

How good is the JetBrains IDE support

I have people using IDE's like Intellij IDEA, WebStorm, and PyCharm. Can the TFS integration review code commits, create builds, etc.

There were some Mac viruses in the past (like 10 years ago), but none for OS X.
Sophos provides a list of Mac viruses here. Almost all are from the late 1980's and early 1990's. The most recent one being June 1998 - and all of them affecting Mac OS 7, 8 or 9 - none for Mac OS X
Virus software on the Mac mainly detects and protects against passing on Windows viruses, which do nothing on a Mac.
In fact, Virus protection software on the Mac is a bit of a scam, as there's none to protect against.
A couple of 'proof-of-concept' viruses were demonstrated for OS X but never released, and as I said, there's not a single virus in the wild that affects current shipping versions of OS X.

I'm trying to find the best IDE to use with WLS and are struggling a bit.
I've been trying to select IDEs for WLS development for quite some time now
(and for several projects), and I've always concluded that none of the IDEs
support a tight enough integration (or even not working properly), and again
I end up making various scripts to support in the development process.
My argument on this matter is that the BEA Weblogic team is not putting
enough effort into integrating popular IDEs with the application server. I
guess the strategy is to leave it to the tool vendors to create the
necessary tools in order for developers to be efficient.
The problem with this approach is that with the rapid development cycle for
application servers, it is probably very difficult for 3rd party IDE vendors
(like VCafe and JBuilder etc.) to keep up their tool support for WLS (or for
any other application server I suppose).
I'm sure that the BEA team share my views when I say that the development
environment needs to be as efficient as possible, and relying on manual
builds of EJBs and using the console to hot-deploy is a too tedious
procedure.
My recommendation for BEA:
1) Select a few of the most popular IDE's (Forte, VCafe, JBuilder and
VisualAge)
2) Release well integrated tools for these at the same time as you release
new versions of WLS.
I think this would be a real selling argument for selecting WLS. I know it
will at least make my day way easier :-)

I agree with you. There's also a large segment of the development community
that prefers a non-IDE environment, and we need to make their lives easier
too. There are very few hands currently devoted to doing UI work. You get
the picture...
Have you looked at Inline's (now JFX Software) JFX Studio for EJB
development? It tries to be IDE-neutral.
Finally, I happen to know that various IDE vendors are beginning to put
together support for 6.0 but I agree that those products should be targetted
for release in the same general timeframe as WLS, and we've failed to make
that happen.
Aside from your concrete suggestion that we make sure that IDE integrations
are done when WLS ships, do you have any other suggestions regarding user
productivity/usability with WLS? I'm also interested in hearing more about
why you don't want to use The Console for doing application deployment. I
happen to think that you should be able to deploy via The Console but that
should be targetted to production environment managers, along with
higher-level tool support for ASP situations via something like custom Ant
tasks.

Is Sun One 6.5 supported in Studio 5 ?

I am going to developer a J2EE Application using Studio 5 and would like to know if I can deply on Sun One 6.5 server directly from the Studio.If this support is not available, is it possible to develop using Studio 5 and then deply on Servr 6.5 using command line ?

I was wrong there, actually Sun ONE Studio 3.0 supports Sun ONE app serv 6.5. Sun ONE app serv 6.5 is based on j2ee 1.2. Since Sun ONE Studio 4.0 the IDe supports j2ee 1.3 which includes ejb 2.0 spec.

Actually You can deploy your application to Sun App Server 9.0, but probably not all features will work. But now You can download NetBeans 5.5 and Visual Web Pack for it (it's a next step of Creator's evolution) and this IDE supports GlassFish (opensourced Sun App Server 9.0).

IDE supports the cross-company exchange of settlement data based on international standards , manages data transfer between retailers, distributors, and independent service operators with special regard to the requirements of deregulated markets.
At the communication level events triggers the data exchange process which has the logic for inbound and outbound processes. Data exchange tasks are the result of data exchange process. Communication Event Function Module determines data exchange task data such as Data exchange Basic Process based on the file type, Sender/Receiver service providers, Point of Delivery. Communication Processing Function module is triggered dynamically and is responsible for creation of IDoc format (control and data).
IDE Configuration :
Basic process (client independent) - Define the underlying business process
Data exchange process (client dependent) - Implemented based on basic process per customer
Attach the data exchange process to the service provider.

Is JES compatible with Sun IDE

Hi ..we are going to Use JES components like Access manager, Comm express, App serv Enterprise Edition for our application..
,and I think the Sun IDE supports Sun App serv Platform Edition.. How can I Integrate my application with IDE and the JES.
How can I run application from the IDE ,...Whether I need to install AccessManager..etc in my Local System.

JSE usually comes bundled with those servers from JES for which it has a plugin. JSE8.1 for instance supports application server 8.2 and therefore comes pre-bundled with it. (It also supports portlet development against Sun Java System Portal Server; but in this case, it does not include the server in its own installer, because SJSE8.1 provides a portlet simulator that can be used for development).
JSE8.1 also supports Sun Java System WebServer. But you will need to download and install the server manually (webserver is not bundled with jse installer) and also connect to the update center from the ide (using 'Tools | Update Center' menuitem) and download and install the plugin for webserver.
So, to work with JES from the IDE, there are two possibilities:
- You can download and install JES seperately from the IDE. You will then be able to add the servers to the ide using the runtime tab. (You can of course add only the servers for which a plugin is available in the ide).
- Or you can use the pre-bundled appserver, install webserver and portalserver on your system, install the ide and point the ide to work with the these servers.
