Ideas Forum?

Cannot locate the Ideas Forum where you can post and vote for new enhancements to FormsCentral.  Can someone help me with a link?  Thank you!

Hi;
Unfortunately the "Ideas" was a feature of the entire forum (not just for our product) and it was removed from the forums.  Our team is investigating either getting the feature turned back on, or at creating an alternative method for users to submit their ideas.
For now, feel free to post your idea here in the forum, the FormsCentral engineering team reviews the forums daily and will take note of the requests.
Thanks,
Josh

In one of the SAP Store presentations, there is a link to this website where users can submit ideas for new ByDesign functionality.  It looks like it's only in German for now - when is the official launch date for the site?

I don't think that this question is posted in the right forum. But I want to answer it:
We will start the official rollout for the English forum very soon.
For all who can't wait for that, here's the link

  • Is it possible to import a .idea file into Illustrator CS3?

I have sketches and files on Adobe Idea on the iPad. How to I bring them into Illustrator and preserve the layers, etc? .png, .pdf and .jpg don't seem to do this. I'm sorry if this is a "no duh" question, but I am just starting out with these programs and would appreciate the help. The question didn't turn up in a forum search.
    Thank you in advance!
    ~Anna

    Mr. Zimmerman,
Thank you for taking up six post spaces on this forum question. Obviously I haven't read any of the app information, or subscribed to the adobe cloud, or searched the forums, despite having used those to discover this problem. Perhaps I should have underlined the program name that I mentioned in my original post, and the file formats I listed, which are only available if downloaded from the cloud, so that you could have more easily understood my question. I should have included Google link for the application so you wouldn't have to waste time looking it up for yourself. Maybe I should have mentioned that I called support and they suggested that I post in the forums to see if anyone else had gotten around the problem.
Also, sadly, the link doesn't answer my question. You seem to think that I am simply trying to export files. I have demonstrated in my original question and my reply to a previous answer, that I have already exported in every file available for use with the app and the cloud. I was asking, since I need to clarify, why .idea files would not open in Illustrator CS3, and why, when other file formats were tried, did they not preserve the layers. Also, since they wouldn't, was there another way to export besides the -listed- export file formats that would allow layers. And, as before when I tried a search in the Adobe Ideas forum, there was no answer to how to open an idea file in CS3, or preserve the layers in CS3 in any of the other file formats offered.
I am sorry that you misunderstood my question.
    Have a lovely day!

  • Feature Idea: Export Sitemap to PDF

Dear People and Adobe Muse Dev Team,
I've been using Muse (currently v6.0, Build 751) for about a month now and realizing good results with the app.  Thank you.
One new feature that I know I can put to good use for my clients and I'm thinking other designers could do as well is: An export [visual] Sitemap to PDF menu option.
I like to share sitemap designs with my clientele and having the ability to export from Muse to PDF (or whatever) would be most useful!
    Thank you.

It looks like the Muse Ideas forum is not an open forum.  Any ideas how I might request permission to access the forum?

  • Need right contact info for Idea

I have a big idea for Verizon home phones.  I cannot display the idea on the idea forums due to giving the full rights up.  Is there someone that I can contact about this.  I tried to email one person but got no response.  If I don't get a response again then I will see if a different company would want to hear the idea.  Any advise that you can point me in the right direction?  Thanks

The only thing we have here for ideas is the public forum where you can post your ideas for other subscribers to vote for. That's at :

  • Diadem idea exchange

Every once in a while I check the idea exchange for Diadem. I think that several of the ideas are good. The forum has been around a while including time spans when there was a new release of Diadem.
However, all of the ideas are marked as new. Why aren't some "in development"?
Does the development team give any consideration of the ideas? Even the decision that we won't do it would be appreciated.
    Jim West

    Hello Jim,
Please rest assured that the DIAdem sales, marketing and especially the R&D team are monitoring the DIAdem ideas forum closely. Several of the ideas listed there have made it into DIAdem 2011 (you can check out the BETA version of 2011 at http://www.ni.com/beta) and several others are on the preliminary list for DIAdem 2012.
We may not be doing a great job on tagging these as "in development", but we are certainly paying close attention to the ideas and feedback from other users on specific ideas. Comments and "Kudos" given to ideas on that forum will help us to determine how many people are interested in a specific feature, so we encourage everyone to make use of both the "Kudos" and the comment function there.
Thank you for your feedback and for bringing this important development tool back into focus for our users as well as the NI DIAdem team.

  • IDE with great debugger?

    Hello,
I am currently using Eclipse and trying to find a (free, but not necessarily open source) IDE which has a different -- perhaps better -- built-in debugger. Also, if some other IDE can provide just as good or better debugging facilities without the ridiculous memory consumption of Eclipse, I would love to hear about it. I am open to platform-dependent IDEs, as long as they will work with the Sun JVM 1.5 and recognize Java 5.0 syntax, and run on Win32. As a matter of fact... a Win32 native IDE would probably have better performance (less overhead, if well-written) than Eclipse or similar Java-based IDEs.
A built-in compiler like Eclipse's would be great too... but my main worries with Eclipse are that my development machine at work has only 256M of RAM, causing Eclipse to take up half of it (pushing many operations to swap, which slows the system to a crawl with the virus scanner checking everything); and also that Eclipse's debugger is good, but sometimes not good enough. Discussions about optimizing Eclipse's performance, with significant RAM or processing time savings, are also welcome.
Sorry if this thread isn't too, too related to debugging - but there was no IDEs forum here at Sun :)
    Thanks,
    -Sean

The cheapest solution is to buy more memory. A hundred bucks per workstation will pay for itself in the first few days.
That said, I think most IDE's with good debuggers within good IDE's are fairly hefty. You might look at emacs with the java editing and debugging support it provides. It's native coded, very powerful (geek friendly) and some folks swear by it - I thend to swear at it.

  • Lightweight Version Control and/or IDE ?

    Summary:
I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions for a light-weight version control system ? A light-weight IDE would also be of interest (more advanced than TextPad, less complicated than Eclipse).
I would have stuck this in the IDE forum, but it seems their isn't one.
    Details:
Previously, I have been doing my Java development using a text editor (TextPad), and doing most everything manually. I like this approach, because I understand everything that is going on.
I recently ventured out in the hopes of implenting version control. Going with what's popular, I set up CVS on my Linux server and access it using Eclipse on my PC. I would just continue using TextPad, but I like how Eclipse provides a nice GUI front-end for CVS functions.
Unfortunately, I've found the whole CVS/Eclipse setup to be buggy and convoluted. I still don't have CVS set up quite right. I can't seem to tag anything with a version, and I still don't know how to properly set up access privelidges (for simplicity, I ended up using chmod 777 on all CVS directories and files).
This whole setup seems to require intricate Linux, CVS, and Elipse knowledge. Now, instead of working on my Java application, I spend most of my time trying to better learn Linux, CVS, and Eclipse. Progress on my projects have ground to a halt. Every problem I encounter requires hours of research to resolve, and it often results from not understanding the complicated inner workings of one of these insufficiently documented products.
In the end, I really just wanted some version control for my software with a user-friendly GUI front end. I have no wish to be a Linux expert, or a CVS expert, or an Eclipse expert. I just want to be a user, so I can get on with doing my real work -- Java programming.
    <rant>
I find Linux in particular to be especially difficult to grasp. It's not that the O/S is complicated. It's that materials for learning are sub-par or nonexistent. The Linux community, as well as many other software communities, like to think of themselves as part of some elite club of experts they don't want others to join. To perpetuate this, there is a general lack of tutorials, GUIs, or helpful information of any kind. Take "man" for instance, the worst help facility ever created, which has never been improved upon.
This would all be okay if I could simply use the non-existent CVS installer to install and configure CVS. But no, I have to do it all manually, from setting up the CVS server in xinetd, to editing the cvswrappers file (why is this not set up from the get go?), to changing iptables to allow CVS connections through the firewall. Simply trying to figure out how to set an environment variable is an exercise in frustration the first time. It took me probably an hour of research just to figure out that I needed to edit the file "profile" in the "/etc" directory because such information is not nicely documented anywhere.
    </rant>
    Conclusion:
Ideally, I would like a SIMPLE version control system that I can just run on my Windows PC. Something with a GUI preferably, as managing large numbers of files from a command prompt is tedius. Likewise, a light-weight IDE, something less complicated than Eclipse, would also be of interest to me.
Also, if you have any recommendations for a good Linux book, that would also be of interest to me. Such a book would probably be tailored to a specific flavor of Linux since each flavor uses different tools. I currently use Fedora Core, so a Fedora Core book would be preferable. I think I am probably stuck using Linux for a server, as my copy of Windows NT Server is hopelessly outdated, and Windows Server upgrades cost thousands of dollars I don't have (why don't they have an educational version of Windows Server?). I still regret spending thousands of dollars the first time.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Imho, CVS is a rather simple version control system, though I wouldn't want to access it using IDE plugins as they hide a lot of functionality. For an alternate frontend, have a look at WinCVS (www.wincvs.org) -- it's not that buggy.
You could also try subversion as a replacement for CVS, but afaik, there's no reliable and comfortable GUI client available yet.

  • New to Fios - So confused how to find anything on!!! - Need help with search

Been with Comcast for years and years and just switched to Fios.  With all the channels and various buttons on the remote I'm overwhelmed with trying to figure out what's actually on.
I understand how to use the search feature to find a show or theme, but what I can't figure out is how do you see a list of results for just programs that are currently on??
It seems the search results are listed in order of channel name and there is nothing on the list that I see that shows which ones are currently on.  I find myself going thru the list, constantly pushing the right arrow key on the remote just to then find out the show is on later in the day or another day.
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Vince

The best way to see what's on now is simply to press Up on the remote to bring up the half-screen guide, then use the Ch + and - buttons to quickly scan through it.
Not the solution you wanted. Perhaps you should suggest it in the Ideas forum.

Unfortunately, there is no feature that provides this functionality. The only option would be to take a screenshot of the history view and then print that.
If you find that this is something that would be helpful for your work, please suggest it in the Adobe Send Ideas forum.

  • Is there a way to include "Formatted Text" content from a form in the e-mail summary?

I'd like to be able to include some of the content I've created in a form as "formatted text" in the email summary / notification.  Right now, only the fields that require the end user to input data of some type are included in the summary.  Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks,
    -Jeremy

    Hi,
You can not include custom text in the notification email.  Only in the summary receipt email.  Can you explain what sort of text you want in the notification email?  Also, you may want to post this to the ideas section.  If others vote for it, there's a higher chance of us adding it in a future release.  The ideas forum can be found here - http://forums.adobe.com/community/formscentral?view=idea

  • Tags not visible to shared participants

I have set up a gallery on Acrobat.com. Within this gallery is the usual collection of PDFs that have all been tagged for identification and search functionality. This gallery ahs then been shared to a bunch of users with no admin capabilities. The problem I am having is that they they can't see any of the tags I have generated making it a completely useless option.
How do I make the tags visible to them so they can utilise them

    Good day ozbogwam,
Unfortunately, tags are currently designed to help an individual user organize their files. There are no shared tags at this point.
From the Acrobat.com Help file, here's how you can use tags:
    Organize files using tags
Use tags to categorize files you have access to. You can tag files stored anywhere in your organizer. Adding a tag to a file or removing a tag from a file does not change its permissions or its location. For example, tagging a file stored in a shared workspace does not change who can access the file. Nor does it change permissions for other individuals with access to the file. A file can have multiple tags for quick access. For example, you can tag a file as “Work” to signify that this file is work-related. You can tag the same file as “Urgent” to signify that the file requires immediate attention.
In the organizer, the Tags pane contains some predefined files tagged as Getting Started. Files that have not been tagged and are not part of a shared workspace are listed in Uncategorized Files. The tags you create are listed in alphabetical order.
In the Tags pane of the organizer, click New Tag.
Enter a name for the tag and press Enter.
Tag files using any method described in the onscreen instructions. If you use the file context menu to tag a file, you can tag it with multiple tags. You can also create a tag from the dialog box.
A file can have one or multiple tags.
Delete or rename a tag by opening its context menu and selecting the appropriate command.
All that said, I think this is an excellent feature request and I'll be posting a link to this thread within the Acrobat.com Ideas forum.
    Kind regards,
    David
