Identify contents of a screen field via a BDC

Hello
I am executing transaction F-03 to clear billing docs via a BDC. I need to identify the line items to clear by tax code. The tax code field is displayed on a subscreen by double clicking the line item (belnr).
I then position the cursor on the tax code field (BSEG-TXJCD) within the BDC. I would now like to obtain it's value from the screen so I can then determine if this is a valid tax code to clear or not clear. Is there a way to accomplish this within a BDC.
I tried placing a "get paramter id 'TX J' id BSEG-TXJCD statement within the flow of the BDC logic but don't believe I am retireving anything.
Thanks for you help,
Joe

Have you used SHBD to record the transaction? Maybe it would help you out...
Greetings,
Blag.

  • Screen field related table information

    Hi all,
In SAP standard transaction most of the screen fields will reffer to some dictonary field or some table field. I know that if a screen field refers to dictionary table field that screen field value will save in that dictionary table field. My doubt is that is there any way to find out in which table field the data we are entering on the screen field will go be saved if the screen field refers to a dictionary structure field . The only solution is to look through the code ? please kindly help

to which transaction u need this info
for sales order va01 or va02 it is T180 .
for purchasing or me21 /me22 it is t160 "just check once.

  • Table for Screen Field Properties

    Hi Guys,
    I have strange requirement.
Lets say i have designed 5 fields in the Dialog Program. 2 fields belongs to Group1,another 2 fields belongs to Group2 and 3rd field is belongs to group3.
Where can i find those values (I mean which table). I belive it should be Program, screen no and data type.
Note : Groups you can set in Attributes of the field in Dialog Program.
    Thanks
    Poorna

    Setting Screen Field Attributes
Every screen field has attributes that you set in the Screen Painter when you define the
screen. At runtime, you may want to change these attributes, depending on what
functions the user has requested in the previous screen. At runtime, attributes for each
screen field are stored in a memory table called SCREEN. You do not need to declare
this table in your program. The system maintains the table for you internally and updates
    it with every screen change.
The memory table SCREEN contains the following fields:
    Name Length Description
NAME 30 Name of the screen field
GROUP1 3 Field belongs to field group 1
GROUP2 3 Field belongs to field group 2
GROUP3 3 Field belongs to field group 3
GROUP4 3 Field belongs to field group 4
ACTIVE 1 Field is visible and ready for input
REQUIRED 1 Field input is mandatory
INPUT 1 Field is ready for input
OUTPUT 1 Field is for display only
    INTENSIFIED 1 Field is highlighted
    INVISIBLE 1 Field is suppressed
LENGTH 1 Field output length is reduced
DISPLAY_3D 1 Field is displayed with 3D frames
VALUE_HELP 1 Field is displayed with value help
To activate a field attribute, set its value to 1. To deactivate it, set it to 0. When you set
the ACTIVE attribute to 0, the system suppresses the field and turns off the ready for
input attribute. The user can neither see the field nor enter values into it.
    Note
You can define values for each of these attributes in the Attribs. for 1 field section in
the field list of the Screen Painter. If you need more information about attribute
meanings, see BC ABAP/4 Workbench Tools.

    Setting Screen Field Attributes

As an example of modifying the screen dynamically, start with transaction tz50
    (development class SDWA).
The transaction consists of two screens. In the first screen the user can enter flight
identifiers and either request flight details (by pressing a Display pushbutton) or press the
Change pushbutton to change the data of screen 200.
The field attributes are now set dynamically, according to whether the Display button or
the Change button was selected. In both cases the same screen is now called, but with
    different field attributes.
If the same attributes need to be changed for several fields at the same time, these fields
can be grouped together. For example, in order to change the fields in screen 200
dynamically, we assign these fields in the Screen Painter to the group MOD. You can
specify up to four modification groups for each field. The contents of the Groups field
are stored in the SCREEN table.
The changes to the attributes of the fields in this group can be implemented in a PBO
    module:

    SCREEN-INPUT = u20190u2019.
    MODIFY SCREEN.
    ENDLOOP.
    ENDMODULE.
The memory table SCREEN contains each field of the current screen together with its
    attributes.
The LOOP AT SCREEN statement puts this information in the header line of this system
    table.
In this example taken from transaction tz50, if the user chooses Display then SCREENINPUT
is set to u20190u2019 and all fields belonging to the MOD group thus become display-only
    fields.
Because attributes have been changed, the MODIFY SCREEN statement is used to write
the header line back to the table.

  • How to create a F4 help for a report selection screen field

    hi,
can any one guide me to create F4 help for a field in a selection screen in a report program, plz give me a sample code

    hi,
    Here are the following ways
1.with the help of match code objects we can create the F4 Functionality for Field.
    Syntax is :
PARAMETERS: p_org LIKE t527x-orgeh MATCHCODE OBJECT zorg.
    2. One more thing is we can do it with Search Help's also.
    3. Even we can do it HELP Views also.
    Help Views:
You have to create a help view if a view with outer join is needed as selection method of a search help
The selection method of a search help is either a table or a view. If you have to select data from several tables for the search help, you should generally use a database view as selection method. However, a database view always implements an inner join. If you need a view with outer join for the data selection, you have to use a help view as selection method.
All the tables included in a help view must be linked with foreign keys. Only foreign keys that have certain attributes can be used here. The first table to be inserted in the help view is called the primary table of the help view. The tables added to this primary table with foreign keys are called secondary tables.
The functionality of a help view has changed significantly between Release 3.0 and Release 4.0. In Release 3.0, a help view was automatically displayed for the input help (F4 help) for all the fields that were checked against the primary table of the help view. This is no longer the case in Release 4.0.
As of Release 4.0, you must explicitly create a search help that must be linked with the fields for which it is offered (see Linking Search Helps with Screen Fields ).
Existing help views are automatically migrated to search helps when you upgrade to a release higher than 4.0.
A help view implements an outer join, i.e. all the contents of the primary table of the help view are always displayed. You therefore should not formulate a selection condition for fields in one of the secondary tables of the help view. If records of these secondary tables cannot be read as a result of this selection condition, the contents of the corresponding fields of the secondary table are displayed with initial value.

  • Truncation of selection screen field in reports

    Hi,
Is there any way to avoid truncation of selection screen fields in ABAP reports? For eg, I declare:
    SELECT-OPTIONS: s_test FOR ztest-test_field NO INTERVALS
The length of this field in the table is 30 chars. However, on displaying the field via selection screen, this gets truncated to around 18 or so. How do I avoid this as I need to display the full length of the field?

    Hi,
    Try this
    Tables : makt.
    select-options maknr for makt-maktx.
now go to the screen painter of your program in change mode and move the Help buttons first to the Right each. now increasethe length of the Matnr Field length so that they are equal to 40 Char. in your program you have handle the length now if you want to restrict to 18 otherwise it will be ok
if they don't fit you need incease the Size of the Screen Visible area both in the Screen Painter as well as in the
    Screen Attributes
You also get an Information Message just ignore that.
Just open your program in SE80 if you can't go to the screen painter in SE38. the other way just keep this program in Display mode and execute then take F1 help , take Technical Information and double click on the Screen number now go to the Screen Layout and go to Change mode here.

  • Populating the screen field when the cursor moves to that field

    hi every one,
I want to populate the screen field(MODULE POOL) When the cursor moves to that field.
So can any one help me out with this.
    EXAMPLE..
I want to populate 'S10_TOT_PRICE' (Total Price). When the fields like 'S10_PIECES' (Number of Pieces) will be entered. I want to populate 'S10_TOT_PRICE'  without pressing any button on the screen nor when enter is hit. When the field 'S10_PIECES''  will be entered with some value and the cursor moves to 'S10_TOT_PRICE' . The Total Price field should be populated. Please help me out with this.

Sorry but look at this SAP documentation <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/54/0608162d0711d295520000e8353423/frameset.htm">User Actions on Screens</a>
    Extract :
    <i>User Actions on Screens
There are various ways in which users can interact with screens.
    Filling Input Fields
Users can enter values in any input field on the screen, or change the value using the mouse, in the case of radio buttons and checkboxes. The contents are placed in the corresponding screen field. Filling an input field does not normally trigger the PAI event. Exceptions to this are Checkboxes and Radio Buttons with Function Codes and input fields with Drop Down Boxes.</i>
So, i fear that you cannot "take hand" when user fill a numerical field to perform calculations and update the screen.

    Hi Manfred,
Replace all the DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE-related content by the following statement:
    SET USER-COMMAND 'xxx'.
While DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE does update the fields, a roundtrip is not triggered so the content of the fields will not be refreshed. The SET USER-COMMAND does that.
    Hope this helps you!

  • Script needed to print complete contents in scrolling text field Acrobat Pro 9 (MAC)

I've seen this question several times in my search but no real solution. My client wants a form with text fields that only show 1-2 lines when viewed on-screen but are scrollable so that the user can input a lot of text. I had no problem creating that. The problem occurs when I try to print the form. Only the visible lines of text print and not the entire contents of the field.
Is there a Javascript that I can assign to a Print button in my form that can be assigned to the Mouse Down action that will make the entire field contents print? I even recreated the form in WORD so that when the user inputs text into the field, the contents of the form move down the page. My client didn't like that approach. I'm not a programmer and so I haven't been able to write my own script to handle the printing issue. I'm MAC based so using Livecycle isn't an option for me. Thanks!

I'm using Acrobat Professional 9. I used to use Livecycle which was more flexible, but I no longer have a PC, only MAC and Adobe doesn't make Livecycle for the MAC.
The client doesn't want larger fields unfortunately. They have questions that require 2 or 3 pages of information to be entered into a small text field but they don't want large fields. If they're reviewing the answers online, it's fine - they can just scroll through the text fields and read the answers but they don't want the completed text fields to expand unless the form is printed.
I've already set up my text fields to be multi-line and scrollable so that the client can review all of the text in the field if they are looking at the saved PDF online. The problem I'm having is that I need the entire contents of the text field to be visible ONLY when printed out. They don't want larger fields to show in the form. The client was quite specific about it. The form is also going to be used infrequently, so collecting the data and storing it on a server isn't something they're particularly interested in. The information is also confidential, so they do not want me to be collecting and storing the data and sending it back to them in another format. The easiest option I could see was to create a script tied to a PRINT button that printed out the complete text field.
    Thanks!

  • Values in Screen Field

    Hi,
There is a screen (3140 function group CRM_TSRV_UI) which has got field one with 'CRMT_3140_TSRV_UI-OBJECTIVE' which  is assigned to data element CRMT_OBJECTIVE. This data element 'CRMT_OBJECTIVE' has the length of 3 character and so does the domain 'CRM_OBJECTIVE' which is assigned to it.
In the domain there is a value table 'CRMC_ACT_OBJ' assigned to it which again has got the primary field 'objective' with length 3.
The table structure 'CRMC_ACT_OBJ' contains only two fields mandt and objective, but when you see the table contents it shows 3 fields, with one additional field 'description' coming from the another table which is maintained as a text table CRMC_ACT_OBJ_T
When I call this field on the screen 3140 (as a list box) it shows me the Description instead of Key, even when the length of the field is 3 characters.
what can be the explanation on how it is picking up the description and also not giving any error when the field length is 3 characters.
I have to restrict the value in this list and for that I tried using POV event (process on value-request) but when I try to input the description or any value with length more then 3 characters I got a error message.
    Suggestions..!
    Thanks in adv.
    /Manik

    Hi Manik,
This is standard SAP functionality. It is picking up the description from the text table i.e. CRMC_ACT_OBJ_T for the objective code in the table CRMC_ACT_OBJ.
SAP has internally linked both the tables to do so. Whenever you are refering to this field anywhere in your program just use code instead of the description and you won't get any error. SAP takes care of matching the code with the corresponiding description. You can check out this mapping in the SPRO transaction.

  • Import screen field value into search help assigned to a different field

    Hi,
I have created an elementary search help based on a custom DDIC table ZSH_SHHLDR. Dialog Type: Dialog depends on set of values, search help parameters:
Parameter                       Import     Export   LPos SPos  SDis
    FOLIO                                X                       1       1         X
    CERTN                                             X         2       2
where FOLIO and CERTN are fields in my table.
There are two fields in my program defined as like FOLIO and CERTN respectively. These fields are screen fields in a custom dynpro created using Screen Painter. The search help is assigned to the CERTN field. In the screen, I want that the contents of the FOLIO field should be imported into the search help, i.e. on the screen:
    FOLIO: 21353
    CERTN: <F4>
When I click on F4 help for CERTN, I want that the FOLIO parameter in the search help should contain the value for FOLIO that I entered in the text box on the screen. Is there a way to do this, through an exit for instance? Help is appreciated, thanks.
    Regards

    Hi,
You need to use the below statement.
    process on value-request.
    field zcom_doa_users-zzjob_role module sub_tes_module.
Here I declared three fields in the screen fields from structure zcom_doa_users. Try to name the fields with table name-field name. So inside the module in structure zcom_doa_users you will get given value for the other fields also.
Now you can do your own processing for f4 help.
    Thanks
    Subhankar
