IIS refuses to serve one specific file through this one specific virtual directory

Other javascript files with the same extension in the same folder work fine. Other virtual directories with the same file work fine.
Any help? Detailed error message is at the bottom.
Problem Details:
Only this combination of virtual directory and file fails http://localhost/jslib/vin.js
Accessing other javascript files in the same location works. i.e. http://localhost/jslib/xvin.js returns fine.
Accessing the same javascript file in the same file location but using a different virtual directory works. i.e. http://localhost/jslibtest/vin.js returns fine.
I checked the security of the file and the folder and gave "Everyone" and the anonymous authentication account set up for the site read rights.
Changing the name of the file (and nothing else) works.
Running Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter
Web site application pool is running as "LocalSystem", Classic pipeline, .NET v4.0
Things I've tried:
Removing and re-creating the virtual directory with default settings (through IIS Manager)
IISReset
Setting the handler mappings for the virtual directory to "revert to parent" (file works fine when served from the root). Yes, the static file handler is defined.
Setting the MIME types of the virtual directory to "revert to parent" (file works fine when served from the root). Yes, .js is listed as a MIME type application/javascript/
Deleting the file and re-creating it from scratch
Creating a blank file with the same name
Reviewed the web.config file for the site: no mention of either the file or the virtual directory
Trying to access the file using http://localhost/jslib/vin.js reports:
HTTP Error 404.4 - Not Found

Place one IDML file inside another one.

I want to place one or more IDML files into another single IDML "master" file.
The master file is sort of a template for a site layout. The IDML files I need to embed represent single content boxes with specific layouts. The files for those content boxes are created outside of InDesign with some texts I get from a database.
To retain those layouts I deemed it best to just place them into another document which is no problem with INDD but just with IDML.
I managed to link multiple INDD files into the master file in InDesign itself, but can not figure out how to link IDML files. I also found that it is possible to link INDD files into IDML files, just not IDML into IDML.
I need to be working with IDML as opposed to INDD because I have to be able to manipulate the files in an easy way outside of InDesign.
Is there any way to link IDML files into other IDML files? Or if not, is there a possibility to convert my IDML files to INDD files without having to use a real instance of InDesign?

Notes: box1.indd and box2.idml are the exact same files, just saved differently by InDesign. The path to both files is a valid file system path and has full read/write access.

Thank you for your reply. I already know that it is possible to edit IDML files, which is what I am already doing.
What I am now looking for is a way to place one IDML file into another one like you are able to do with INDD files.
Which file format should I use insted then? It must be editable outside of InDesign because I need to be able to change texts and stylings within the file.

That possibly means you have to have InDesign Server to integrate in your workflow.
That's the exact thing I am trying to avoid here.

Basically you can't send a person to the location as that
would totally
defeat the purpose of placing files above the virtual root.
You can stream a
file from a page on the site if you use the physical location
on the server
to call it.

Wonder if anyone can help with the following request ?
One things doesn't make sense with the WIFI mini I Pad Latest IOS :
If you have several programs that can open a specific file as PDF for example why do you have to upload the same file ( PDF) into to each specific application folder or cache. Resulting in multiple copy of the file (PDF) copied on your I pad??? which translate to a useless waste of space.
Wouldn't it be easier having a single directory where the user can save all of his file/s and each program that can manipulate that particular file have access to it. As an example I got several program that that can run an excel file and am enjoying a multiple copy of the same workbook loaded into my WIFI MINI.. this is just blatant waste of memory/ disk space on my Ipad..... I wonder there is a program that allows me to save all this file in a single directory and give me the opportunity to open each file with a specific application of my choice?????

That doesn't help.
There's a clear distinction between temporary files, and files downloaded to the users' download folder.
Or at least, there should be.
I'm inclined to call this a bug, since the user (being me) didn't ask for the download.
Downloading upon opening a site from the address bar is a different action than downloading from within a site (e.g. clicking a url shortcut or a button to download from an indirection).

How to create file form servlet in our virtual directory

I want to create a file form my servlet in my virtual directory..
my directory name ia vps
it cconatin vps -> WEB-INF -> classes-> servTest
servTest is servlet....
and i want to create file from servTest in vps directory..
actually i am trying to create file but it by default saved in windows/system32 directory.

You need to give the absolute path to create the file, if you just give the filename, the file will be created in the working directory which is system32 for Windows.
You could either hardcode it, or you can use ServletContext.getRealPath("/") ( http://java.sun.com/j2ee/sdk_1.3/techdocs/api/javax/servlet/ServletContext.html#getRealPath(java.lang.String) ) This will return the path on the server's filesystem where your application folder ( under webapps for Tomcat) is located.
NOTE: If you application is in the form of a .war file, this may not work! The server may return a null.
"/" specifies the root i.e., your application's highest level directory. If your application is webapps/vps then getRealPath("/") will return something like C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1\webapps\vps

Hi, I dont know how to find a specific group of files (i.e. all movies, all music etc) in one specific folder (and its sub folders) on Snowleopard.
I do know how to find a single file type (i.e. .mov, .mp3)

Robocopy Exclude specific file pattern in a specific folder

We are trying to build a script to mirror the user documents to a personal networkfolder, but it happens that a scanner sends files in the format "doc*.pdf" to that folder. Is it possible to exclude just these files in that folder? Because if the
user copies them in his document folder they should be mirrored, but if he didn't allrdy copied we dont want then to be deleted.
What we tried so far was:
robocopy "C:\Users\username\Documents" "\\server\users\username" /MIR /XF \\server\users\username\doc*.pdf
But it did not work, robocopy does not seem to accept the argument. Anyway he accepts
robocopy "C:\Users\username\Documents" "\\server\users\username" /MIR /XF \\server\users\username\doc.pdf
But this does not help us, as we need a pattern to be ignored not just a specific filename.

as far as I know, wildcards are supported only if the filename is a filename, not a path.
robocopy <sourcedir> <destdir> /MIR /XF doc*.pdf

Compiling one .chm file creates another one

I'm working with a merged help system with approximately 30 sub-projects, and I have to make a change and regenerate the .chm file for all of them. We always generate the .chm file to the !SSL!\Microsoft_HTML_Help folder within the root project folder. I got tired of having to go into each output folder to move all of the .chms to the eventual destination folder, so I though I'd just change the output path to a common folder for all of them.
After generating a couple, I noticed that when I compile some projects, a .chm file from a different project somehow ended up in the output folder. I don't know how it got there because I'd just created the folder and I hadn't generated a .chm for that project yet. Of course I've ended up with some old .chm files overwriting the updated ones that I generated today.
This seems very odd. Has anyone run across this issue?
I'm on RH 9.0.2 with Windows XP SP3.

Are your merged CHM files located in the project folder? When you merge a CHM file, RoboHelp requires that the CHM file be copied to the project folder. If you do not delete the CHM file, it is copied to the output location for the master CHM. This will overwrite any existing CHM files in the output folder location with the copy in the project folder for the project being compiled.
Delete the CHM files from the folder, and you shouldn't have this problem. I wrote a batch file for my projects to clean out CHM files from the folders prior to batch compiling all the projects. The merge will still occur as the merged files are included in the XPJ and the HHP file.

Trying to "Slide" through this one

I can't get this to slide back into postion. I am trying to create a MC that slides in and out on click. Currently it slides in fine. But does not slide back into position

How can one optimize Swing-Answer this one

How come i wrote a simple code extending JPanel as shown belo trying to render a new component but realized the running code was consuming like 88% of the processor time, using windows task manager. Is there a way to help swing eat less memory and processor time?
Lastly, i am trying to create my own look and feel or say new button by rendering a gif image on a panel with Graphics g object in paintComponent(g) and then attaching events to it, is it advisible to create new components like that?

Excellent question. I don't see any client-jar in your EAR file structure. So I am assuming you are writing a separate client application which will talk to the ejbs deployed as part of this EAR. You need to do the following:
Write another EAR file with the following structure:
ear:
META-INF/application.xml
util.jar
client.jar
client.jar should have a META-INF/MANIFEST.MF and that should contain Class-Path:util.jar and value for Main-Class attribute.
Now deploy this new ear to your application server and execute it using Application Client Container that comes with your app server.
If you don't want to write another EAR file, then bundle th client.jar in your original EAR file.
Points to note are:
you have to repackage util.jar again inside this ear file.
For portability reason, you should use Class-Path manifest entry in client.jar. Refer to http://java.sun.com/j2ee/verified/packaging.html and J2EE platform spec section #8.2.

Wondering if anyone knows how to link buttons in one flash
file to open a specific scene of an entirely different flash file?
If it isn't possible to choose a specific scene, is there a way to
just open a flash file...in the same browser window, but not within

I would advise against using scenes for your website. You
would need to create a separate html which would load the second
swf file within the same browser window.

Hi,
I'm new to Oracle and am attempting to install database 10g version 2 on RHEL4 xLinux system and need help in getting past an installation error.
When running ./runInstaller, it passes installer requirements, but gets an error stating:
Xlib: connection to ":2.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified
This is immediately followed by java error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.InternalError: Can't connect to X11 window server using ':2.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.

A few pointers:
1) Do not log on to Linux as root. Make sure the graphical screen is owned by oracle
2) If necessary, set your permissions to wide-open by using xhost + ... do not leave in this mode for long if you are concerned about security
3) Set the DISPLAY variable, usually to DISPLAY=:0.0 or DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
This is a common error. Internet search will provide good answers
