... IllegalStateException: Cannot map handler [] to URL path

Hello,
I have a Java web application built using Spring + Freemarker + Hibernate +
XFire
Everything worked fine until today when....after creating a new page
Controller, I built the project -> BUILD SUCCESFULL, but when I start Tomcat
i get ... IllegalStateException: Cannot map handler [<handlerName>] to URL
path.
It seems that my controller is instantiated twice, but I don't know why. It
should instantiate ONCE as I create a bean for it in .xml file exactly as
for the other(30-40) controllers.
any ideea?
Thanks.

I think you are facing 2 issues here
1) how do you index a file present in a windows server
2) how do you handle the dynamic directory structure part.
For #1 - if the user who is creating the index , have enough permission to access the location/machine,then you can use ftp to access those files too
For #2 - As far as FILE_DATASTORE Is concerned, it is not possible (as you rightly said).
But, there is another way I can think of with some flip sides to it.
Use some thrid party application to copy the files from these location to a standard location. I haven't tried with links (to the exact file from a standard fixed location) will work or not for file_datastore, you can give it a try.

  • Mapping root of URL path to web applications

Does the name of the web application have to equal the first element in the URL
              path? The WebLogic 5.1
documentation suggests that you can create such a mapping with a property:
              weblogic.httpd.webApp.<context>=<WebAppLocation>
where <context> is the servlet context path (I presume that is the root of the
              URL path) and
<WebAppLocation> is the application root directory (or WAR-file location). Is
              there any equivalent to
this mapping in WebLogic 6.1, or must the URL path begin with the web application
              name?

I have looked further into the documentation, and the answer seems
to be NO. However, I can solve my particular problem (supporting
old URLs) by defining a default web application.

  • How to move up within a URL path?

Recently started using URLs in my programs. Works great. However, all the
time I have been wondering how to move up in that URL path. For example,
if my url1=("http://www.something.com/") I normally end up at the index.html.
But how could one set up a relative url reaching a file or directory at the same
level as that index.html? I suppose one should go up onel level and then
specify the name of the required file.
I tried to use things like url2= new URL(url1,"../myfile") but that doesn't seem
    to work.
Anybody has an idea? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
you can't, if your web server provides the minimum of security. In the web server configuration you normally map a base url to a physical directory on the server and the web server does its very best to assure that you can only access files in that physical directory and below, and that all other files on the server in any upper or parallel directories are not accessible.
If you want to access files in a parallel directory then you have to create a further mapping in the web server which maps another base URL to that directory.
Martin To reinforce what Martin says: if you cannot do this with your web browser, don't expect to do it with Java.
On the other hand, if you can do it in your web browser, we misunderstood your question and please
reformulate it using actual URL's (or at least the portion following the host name).

  • URL paths and regular expressions in ASDM

Some background info - I've recently switched to an ASA 5510 on 8.4(3) coming from a Checkpoint NGX platform (let's say fairly quickly and without much warning ). I have a couple questions and they're kind of similar so I'll post them up. I've read docs about regex and creating them both via command line and ASDM, but the examples always seem to include info I don't need or honestly something I don't understand yet (mainly related to defining class\inspect maps). If someone could provide a simple example of how to do these in ASDM that would help a lot in understanding how regular expressions are properly configured. So here we go.
I know this is basic but I need to make sure I understand this properly - I have a single web server (so this won't be a global policy) where I need to allow access to a specific URL path\file and that's it. So we'll call it \test\testfile.doc. Any other access to any other path should be dropped. What's the best way to do this in ASDM (6.4)? I think if I saw a basic example for this I could figure out next few questions but I'll post them as well just in case.
I have another single public web server (again this won't be a global policy) where I'd like to specify blocking file types, like .php, .exe., etc... again a basic example would be great.
Lastly, and this is kind of related, but we have a single office/domain and sometimes we get spam from forged addresses appearing to be from our domain. On Checkpoint I used to use its built-in SMTP security server and could define if it received mail from *@mydomain.com to drop it because we would never receive mail externally from our own domain name. I saw something similar with ESMTP in ASDM and it looks kind of like how you set up the URL access mentioned above. Can I configure this in ASDM as well, and if so how?
    TIA for your help,
    Jordan

  • Drive Utility Help Viewer "does not know how to handle selected URL"

I have Drive Utility 10.5.6, according to . I'm trying to reformat a FAT32 partition on an external drive to Mac OS X Ext. Journaled in preparation for using SuperDuper to back up my Mac HD boot partition. For a time, which seems to have passed, now that erasing the partition has been done. The Disk Utility Help wouldn't work. Instead of putting up topic information, I got a message saying "Help Viewer does not know how to handle selected URL", followed by an reference to an html file that allegedly existed inside a set of folders inside the app. Where, of course, Finder cannot see. Once the erasing was done, Help seems to have come back. I tried Apple Support, but could only get a reference to OS 9 Appleworks macros not working in OS X. No help at all. Is this a question? I don't know. Help is working now. But for a while it was very annoying. It must be one of those little windows glitches that no one ever bothered to fix.

In order to change a FAT or NTFS formatted drive for use with OS X you will need to do the following:
    Extended Hard Drive Preparation
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (for Intel Macs) or APM (for PPC Macs) then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
If you have an Intel Mac and can partition the drive using GUID then you can have FAT32 and OS X partitions on the same drive.

  • Windows Server R2 stop working. Cannot map network drive with my Win 7 client.

    Hi to everyone.
I had a problem for quite some time time and even i tried to solved it till now unfortunately seems unreachable.
I have a 2008 R2 server which is used as SQL 2005 server. My application program shared from the server. My win 7 client  use a map network drive to access my share folder from my windows server. Suddenly my clients lost my connection. Since then i
cannot connect to the folder and i got the message
    Windows cannot access \\Server\Storage
Check the spelling of the name. Otherwise there might be a problem with your network. To try to identify and resolve network problems, click Diagnose.
Details: Error code: 0x80070035 The network path was not found.
I check out my share permissions, all seems ok. I also check out firewall, services, TCP/IP, share folders, really almost everything but still nothing.
Does anyone have any idea how to resolve the problem.

Yes what seems to happened is due to virus infections.
This problem started 2 weeks a go. First i had network connection error with my client. Them my application had respond errors. Finally i lost my network drive.
I realize that the problem was due to virus. My old antivirus program doesn't s scan any threats so i uninstalled it, and i installed Panta antivirus and i clean up my server and my clients from virus. I am sure that both are clean from virus. My antivirus
program runs every day with no traces of infections.
Since then i cannot see my share folders on my server side and i cannot map network drive.
One thing that i want to avoid is re-installation of windows server 2008 R2.
    Can anyone help about this
    Thanks

    Hi Junaid,
Your code can be work correctly on different servers or with other records but it can not be handled with buffer or autoflush,
I had same problem a few weeks ago. And lastly I had to control before printing any output. My application was working on WebSphere but not on Tomcat, so it is general problem.
The only way if you have to put some output before sending redirect:
When you want to redirect the page, write window.location = ... (javascript code).
When page is loaded automatically will be redirected to the page you want. But of course it is a bit slow.
    Good Luck,
    isturk.

  • XSQL exception displaying funky chars:Cannot map Unicode to Oracle characte

    Hi.
I'm using XSQL Servlet to serve XML from a 9.2 database. The varchar columns I'm trying to display have non-ASCII characters in them (Spanish enye, curly quotes, etc.). The database's character encoding is WE8ISO8859P1, which handles these characters fine. Running a simple "select * from..." query, I get this error:
oracle.xml.sql.OracleXMLSQLException: Cannot map Unicode to Oracle character
which seems odd considering it ought to be mapping an Oracle character to a Unicode character, not the other way around. Additionally, what's the problem? Unicode supports a large superset of WE8ISO8859P1.
Any idea how I can get XSQL Servlet to play nice with these funky characters?
    Thanks,
    Andrew

  • Cannot map a domain network drive. Unknown anomaly

    Dear Technet!
I have a very annoying problem. We a have a Win2008R2 domain. Many domain client desktops and laptops, and some "out of domain" laptops. The problem is connected to the last ones. Everything is fine to map a shared server folder, because everyone
has a domain access instead of the client is domain or out of domain PC. Of corse I have to set manual the out of domain PC's network drives.
BUT we bought a Fujitsu Lifebook P Series laptop with Windows 7 Professional (it is an out of domain client) and I confronted with an anomaly.
When I manualy want to map a network drive it not change the domain!
    The steps:
-Right click at Computer-> Map network drive
-I selected the Letter and type the shared folder: \\server1\folder1
-NOW it is ask the authentication process BUT
Normaly when I type the username with domain mydomain\username it should change the PC's name to the domain name like: JoeysLaptop --to--> MyDomain
And the problem is here. It NOT changes, and I cannot map the drive, because it say cannot find this path. In every else W7Pro laptop its working fine, but this one. Internet connection working. Pings are working, DNS working.
I checked the firewall settings, the services, the sharing center (public and home&work) file and printersharing and the networkscan is ON, the NetBIOS over TCP/IP is ok. So I am out of ideas. The other laptops are working fine with mapping, but this
one. Same OEM Win7Pros like this, but this is not working.
I do not realy want to reinstall with corporate windows, but that is my last option.
What settings are wrong and where should I search it?
    Can anyone help me?
    thank you,
    Árpád Juhász

    Hi,
Are you able to connect to or access that network drive or shared folder? When you map the drive, make sure the computer you're trying to connect to is turned on and you have correct permission to perform this action.
Or try to use net use command to map the drive and check if it works.

  • The specified file or folder name is too long, the url path for all files and folders

The specified file or folder name is too long, the url path for all files and folders must be 260 character or less
    can we increase this limit?
    MCTS,ITIL

    Hi,
As I understand, you want to increase the length of URL path in SharePoint 2010.
Per my knowledge, this limit cannot be increased. SharePoint limits URL length because all relative URL links are stored in the clear forms on the SharePoint content DB and often this links are used as primary keys to link one table with another. Fields
which are used to store these links (for instance tp_DirName from the AllUserData table) allow storing only 256 characters.
There are several ways that you can resolve or mitigate URL length problems in the SharePoint Server 2010 environment. The following list provides suggestions:
    1. Upgrade all the end-user browsers to Internet Explorer 8, which has a longer URL length limit.
    2. Use shorter names for sites, folders, and documents and control the depth of the site and folder structures to reduce the lengths of URLs.
    3. If possible or allowed, use ASCII names for sites, folders, and documents. This will avoid situations where the URL will be lengthened by being encoded.
    4. To reduce the risk that the SharePoint Server 2010 end-users will encounter problems because of URL length limitations, we recommend that you apply the following effective limits in the deployment:
256 Unicode (UTF-16) Code units - the effective file path length limitation, including a domain/server name
128 Unicode (UTF-16) Code units - the path component length limitation

  • SP Designer Workflow: How to Get Full URL Path to List Item and inserted same list ITem URL in another list

    Hi,
I have requirement in Sp Designer 2010,Get List item URL and insert in another list as one column value. When open another list and click on same item  column entry url will show the parent item information.
Here i have create work flow and insert item URL in another list but cant find appropriate item url information.I can easily make  item url link through String builder in mail body with using current id and predefine link, but
when try to insert the same type of item link in another list where i cant find string builder for create custom url link, only get valur of Path,URL,Absolute URL and Relative server URL,all these links or not provide me exact
    item link dispaly information.
So I opened SharePoint Designer and start creating the workflow associated to the list.
As there is some Field from source related to current item URL I start using it
Encoded Absolute URL – this one should be the one to use
    Server Relative URL
    URL Path
Unfortunately, none of these options were providing the correct link. Indeed, these options are providing an incorrect path:
    Encoded Absolute URL
    http://wfe1/Lists/bpf/1_.000
    Server Relative URL
    /Lists/bpf/1_.000
    URL Path
    /Lists/bpf/1_.000
As you can see, the item URL is composed by an ID while it should be http://wfe1/Lists/bpf/dispform.aspx?id=1
Hasan Jamal Siddiqui(MCTS,MCPD,ITIL@V3),Share Point Application Developer,TCS

Unfortunately, [%Current Item:URL%] doesn't seem to be available from a "Site Workflow" associated to a List.   I'm finding less advantages to doing a "Site Workflow" when I don't necessarily need to.  One problem is the workflow is initiating
twice.   I'm thinking I should have just created the workflow as a a "List Workflow."
I am going to try "Association Columns" -- that may work.  Anyone have other suggestions?

  • The ''' character cannot be used in a path.

I am trying to import HTML files from a previous version of online help into a newer version, but am getting the following error:
"The filename is invalid. The ''' character cannot be used in a path."
I have checked filenames of all HTML topics but I could not see '' or any other special characters having been used. This is happening for all HTML files in the older release of the help, not just one. Used version 9 for creating the older version, and that's what I am using for the new version. Please advise.
If this error cannot be resolved, I'll have to manually copy the content from older topics into topics created in the new help.

    Hi there
If you are importing several topics at once, you may need to use the "divide and conquer" approach. The goal is to sort exactly which of the files is giving you the issue. Once you identify the specific file, you will then be able to ascertain the exact character that is giving you fits.
As a general note, I'd be looking at the files using Windows Explorer. ANY character other than a-z, A-Z, 0-9 or the underscore do I consider suspect.
Best of luck to you in resolving this! Rick
