IMAC G4 struck by lightning, burnt, used aztech wireless, ichat can't work

hi! i got a unique problem which i hope you guys can help me.
i use a powerbook G4 here in the united states.
my dad uses an IMAC G4 over in Malaysia.
we used to video chat over the internet until recently, when my dad's IMAC G4 got struck by lightning. the whole internal internet thingie got burnt.
i don't know what exactly, but he had the cable connected to the desktop, and when the lightning struck, it had burnt the thing that lets him connect to the internet.
if anyone of you guys know what thats called please enlighten me.
anyways, he then send the desktop to a private shop that told him that if he sends the desktop to the apple store it would cost him $500 bucks to do it. but he can install a 'wireless aztech' in the desktop for cheaper.
everything seems to be fine, my dad could go online and surf and all is fine. but when the time comes to chat online, using ichat, our video conference could not connect. we can type to each other, but audio or video chat couldn't connect. it would say the other party did not respond. and we both would have the same message. that both sides did not respond.
anyone have any clue at all why is that? is the wireless aztech thingie that the guy installed screwing it up?
the guy suggested to use wireless so the computer won't get burnt and i don't know if he using an airport or what with the aztech in the desktop, but i thought that is a good idea. maybe not using an original apple product somehow screwed things up?
but the funny thing is that my dad could connect and go online and surf and everything, its just that the video conference couldn't connect. like i said, we can type to each other, not video chat.
so if there is any GURU out there. please enlighten us.

The information in your thread references an iBook quite a lot but the title of this post says iMac so I going to assume that you are trying to use this device with an iMac.
It is also unclear what version of the Mac OS you are using.
Let's start by stating the fact that these USB networking networking devices are not inherently supported by the Mac OS. Therefore they need drivers. These drivers are usually fragile and only work with a well defined version (or versions) of the Mac OS. Anytime that you make any upgrade to the Mac you are able to create an incompatibility with the driver and the device.
The Belkin F5D9050 does have some Mac OS drivers available at this link.
You should uninstall/remove the current driver for this device.
Restart your iMac.
Download and install the appropriate driver for the version of Mac OS on your iMac.
Restart your iMac.
If that doesn't work, either get the original AirPort card for the internal wireless slot in the iMac or get an Ethernet wireless adapter. An Ethernet wireless adapter requires no drivers and therefore will work with any Ethernet device.

There are two kinds of RFID tags: Active tags, which have a battery or other internal power source, and passive tags, which have no power source and work by reflecting the energy from an RFID scanner (basically). At the energy levels and distances used for WiFi location detection, passive tags will not return a detectable signal.

With the image displayed on the screen, the pixels are 1944 by 2592. By going to the units & rulers, the pixels were 300 by 72 screen with rules as inches, type as pt. and print & photo were listed as inches.
I did try the system preferences display but it didn't give me pixels. Unless you mean going under the Apple which didn't give me pixels under Display.

Are you looking in the Videos app? iMovie on the iPad? The Photos App? I don't use iMovie but those are the three places where you should look.

If the Display supports DVI, then you will need a > Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter and a DVI cable.
If the Display only supports VGA, then you wiil need a > Mini DVI to VGA Adapter and a VGA cable.
Noting that the (digital) DVI is far better than the (analog) VGA connection.

No, unfortunately, when you format a drive, it will erase all the contents. So you will need to find a temporary "storage" place to put the stuff using a PC so you have access to it. Then reformat using Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities). If only using with mac, format Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and use GUID Partition scheme under Partitions/Options. After formatting, you can drag the files back.

I am running Mac OSX 10.4.11. According to the System profiler the CD/DVD drive is a "PioneerDVD-RWDVR-112D." When I compare the information under this heading, the only unusual difference from my iMac is that the G5 reads "Burn Support: Yes (Unsupported)." My iMac reads "Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipping Drive)."
Under the System Preferences the options are set to "Ask what to do" when a blank CD or DVD is inserted. Music CD set to open iTunes, Picture CD set to open iPhoto, Video DVD set to open DVD player.
Do you have any suggestions?
