Images in access and asp

SORRY, SAME QUESTION TWO TIMES, had troubles with IE (;-)
hi there
any one with a "short" and clear expl?...
How can I show images from within a database ACCESS.
1/ what file type of images
2/ how to save them in the database
3/ how to show them in a asp page?
many thanks for the answer or tips!!

Its your path, the correct path is
http://www.teach-me-how.net/syntra/deelnemer00/prenten/zonnetje.jpg
So, its either
<td><img
src="prenten/<%=(iedereen.Fields.Item("prent").Value)%>"
/></td>
Or
<td><img
src="/syntra/deelnemer00/prenten/<%=(iedereen.Fields.Item("prent").Value)%>"
/></td>
By the way, the images are much much bigger than the space
you have
allocated to them, its worth reducing the pixel size and
storing them in
another folder to avoid overwriting the full size images.
Another thing you can do is this:
<td><%If (iedereen.Fields.Item("prenten").Value)
<> "" Then%><img
src="/syntra/deelnemer00/prenten/<%=(iedereen.Fields.Item("prent").Value)%>"
/><% End if %></td>
This will only show an image if there is a value in the field
in the row.

    You had already done "Repair" and "Rebuild"?  These usually takes scores of minutes or hours.
    Does the Library on your external drive work from the external drive?  Navigate to it in Finder and double-click the name.
    If it does, delete the problem Library, empty the System Trash, reboot, Verify your system disk using Disk Utility (and might as well repair permissions while you're at it), reboot, test the external drive Library once more to confirm it works properly, then close it and copy the Library to your system drive.  When the copying is done, double-click the Library (now on the system drive) and see what you get.

    Normally this happens because you moved, renamed or deleted these photos (or the folders that contain them) outside of Lightroom. This is how to fix the problem: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders

  • Browser can resolve, access, and display JPEG image, but ImageIcon can't.

    I've got this weird problem that only happens with images accessed through a customer's VPN:
    Microsloth Internet Imploder can resolve, access, and display a JPG image from a VPN URL, in the general form:
    http://intranet/part?FOOBAR.JPG which the browser apparently transmogrifies into
    http://mogrify.foo.com/images/scripts/cgi/detail.cgi?FOOBAR.JPG(as Jack Webb often said, the names have been changed to protect the innocent)
    Firefox can also resove, access, and display the image.
    But an ImageIcon, when fed either URL, quietly fails to get anything, No errors, no exceptions, but no image, either.
    The application, if it detects the failure of ImageIcon to come up with the image, somehow (not my code) defers to "Windoze Image and Fax Viewer," which locks up trying to resolve, access, and display the image.
    What could possibly be going on here?

    I'd love to have the luxury of saying, "You lost me at Windoze." Then again, to paraphrase a running gag from Airplane!, it looks like I picked the wrong week to quit hemlock.
    As my final message on my other thread on this topic indicates, the problem is that even though the URL ends in JPG, the server isn't really serving up a JPEG, but rather, an HTML page containing the JPEG.
    Knowing this, a solution (of sorts) presented itself: if the URL doesn't produce a displayable ImageIcon, try constructing a JEditorPane on the URL. The results aren't exactly pretty, and you do have to try the ImageIcon first, but it does work.

    Does anyone know how to store images on OAS 3.0 for Linux and ASP (4 NT)? I need some help regarding this.

  • Image repaint preformance and threading

    Folks,
    I'm trying to make this sucker run faster.
    My question is, can anyone please guide me, especially with regards synchronising the Threads more efficiently... I'm thinking of using join and i]notify to make the "navigator" threads yield to the swing threads, to give it a chance to repaint before continuing... does this sound sane to you?
    Currently, without the thread.sleep it paints get the first "burst", and then nothing until the alrorithm has completed... exactly not what I wanted, because the whole point of this GUI is to watch the algorithm at work... sort of a "visual debugger"... I find that watching an algorithm play out helps me to "imagineer" ways of improving it... and in this case improvement means optimisation... it's all about getting from A-J faster than anyone else on the planet, especially those smarty-wishbone-legs C# programmers ;-)
    The code is too big to post (darn that 7500 char limit!) so I'll split it over several posts here, and I've also posted it as a single download to [MazeOfBoltonGUI2.java|http://groups.google.com/group/comp_lang_java_exchange/web/MazeOfBoltonGUI2.java] on my google group (comp lang java exchange).

    I'm persuaded that the main issue (no intermediate results drawn) is the improper use of SwingWorker.
    When you've got over it, you may want to consider other smaller-effect optimizations:
    Reconsider usage of an offscreen image*
    public void paintComponent(Graphics g) {
        super.paintComponent(g);
        if (image==null) {
          image = (BufferedImage)createImage(navigator.maze.cols, navigator.maze.rows);
          mazeColors = createMazeColors(navigator.maze);
        this.draw(image.createGraphics());
        ((Graphics2D)g).drawImage(image, 0, 0, super.getWidth(), super.getHeight(), null);
      }At first I didn't get why you wanted to draw an offscreen image, then paint it to the screen, all that in the EDT.
    After reading the draw() method more closely, I guess you want to ease the coding of the scaling: you draw an image where one cell = one pixel, then paint the image, scaled to the panel's display size.
    In terms of performance, I don't know how it stands:
    On one hand, the image creation if lighter (1 pixel per cell). And you have a point that the built-in scaling offered by Graphics2D.drawImage(image, size) may be efficient. I can't comment on that, I hope the granphics and hardware acceleration folks will pop in the thread.
    On the other hand, if the built-in scaling had poor performance, it may be good to try what "manual" scaling would bring you. That means, in a simplified version, skip the offscreen image creation, and draw directly on the paintComponent()'s Graphics2D argument. the drawing of a cell at coordinates c,r, for example, would look like:
    g.fillRect(c*CELL_WIDTH, r*CELL_HEIGHT, WIDTH, HEIGHT);Performance apart, the scaling as you do it currently has functional drawbacks, if you want pathes as 1-pixel width lines over large cells:
    - if the maze is smaller (in rows, columns) than the panel displaying it (in pixels), the cells will be scaled but the pathes too: so your 1-pixel lines appear as large as the cells. May or may not be a desired effect.
    - if the maze is larger than the display panel, the cells are shrinked, fine, but the so are the path lines, to a point where they may be invisible (probably depending on color blending, I'm a n00b at graphics operations).
    But maybe I misunderstood the need, and maybe the intended drawing of a path is actually the drawing of the rectangles of all its traversed cells, in special path colors?
    Reconsider intermediate allocations*
    Each paintComponent() call results in the allocation of a 2D-array of Color objects (method createMazeColors(Maze)).
    I don't see what the mazeColors array brings you. I assume you wanted to decouple the determination of colors (depending on cell state) and the rendering of the colors: what does it bring: no performance advantage (on the contrary, it adds a 2D array allocation, and 2xN^2 2D-array access), and does not improve the code readability either (subjective rant, sorry).
    Why don't you pass the Maze as an argument to the draw() method, and call the getColor(cell.ch) from there?
    Side note, maybe a bit subjective: performance apart, the design of the usage of this mazeColor array is a no-go!
    An instance method alters a static variable reference,which is used subsequently in another instance method, with no synchronization. The current code does that in a single thread (+paintxxx()+ is only called in the EDT), which keeps that safe (I'd dare to say: by luck), but considerations exposed below may have you refactor the design to introduce other threads, and may exhibit the thread-unsafety of this design.
    Consider drawing the image in a background thread.*
    Indeed the technique of drawing to an offscreen image is quite common, but it is often done to improve responsiveness (not raw performance) of Swing applications. Here is a resource about this (what the author calls the passive approach), although it doesn't use a background thread.
    The idea is that if a paintCompobnent() methods involves lots of computation (arithmetics of traversing a 2D model, scaling things, etc.), this takes CPU times in the EDT, and all subsequent events (such as, a MouseEvent, but also other painting events) keep pending on the event queue, which is consumed by the single event-dispatch thread. The result is that the UI appear unresponsive, and painting of other areas may seem hung.
    The idea is to move the computation to a background thread, which posts rendering to the EDT when the Image is ready to be displayed.
    Of course this doesn't gain any CPU time. This only ensures the EDT uses a minimal part of this CPU (only render and image and process events), instead of performing the whole computation.
    In your case you already have a background thread, and indeed an appropriate choice, a SwingWorker. The application of this technique would consist in calling the draw() method in the worker thread (in the update(Path) method), and invoke super.publish() only after the image has been updated. Note that the process(List<Path>) could then ignore its argument (you may reconsider the choice of type parameter of the worker), and simply get the latest version of the image attribute).
    Of course in this technique, the offscreen image filling is called synchronously from the Navigator, so this halts the algorithm part itself, for the duration of the image generation. You may refine the technique by spawning a dedicated thread for the image generation - with subtle guard code to handle occasions when the algorithm goes faster than the image generation, and posts a new update(Path) while the image generation for the previous path has not completed yet...
    Recuce the number of things to redraw*
    Two parts:
    first, depending on the number of cells and pathes, there may be (yet another) optimization, to not redraw the whole offscreen image, but only the cells/path that have changed in the last update(). In particular, if a path is not a line but a list of cells, then it's quite easy, reusing the current offscreen image, to only fillRect(...) the appropriate cells.
    Second, if a path is not rendered as a thin line over larger cells, but as cells themselves rendered in special path colors, you may paint cells and path in one go: instead of drawing, first the cells, then the path, draw only the cells, electing the color using a decision method such as:
    private Color getColor(Cell) {
        if (cell.getPathState()!=NOT_IN_ANY_PATH) {
            return getColor(cell.getPathState());
        else {
            return getColor(cell.ch);
    }Of course this forces you to modify your data model, and update the new pathState as part of the algorithm (or better isolated, in the update(Path) method, before invoking the drawing machinery). Maybe that was the intention of the mazeColors array?
    I haven't studied your other posts on the logic of the MazeOfBolton algorithm, so I don't know if it's acceptable for you that a cell appear to have only one path state, as opposed to one for each of the pathes that traverse it. This last trick may then seem incorrect, but please consider it as only a graphical information, and indeed your current image drawing draws only ONE path for a given cell (the last path in currentPaths that traverses this cell ).

    Clarisworks, you need Appleworks, which will only work with Mac OS X10.6.8 or earlier.  See this tip if you must go newer.  Mac Pros with newer hardware configuration than July 20, 2011 can't use Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier without this tip and then it would be Mac OS X Server.  I'm not sure if the new black Mac Pro supports that configuration or not.
    iPhoto, there is an iPhoto for all versions of Mac OS X.
    iTunes, there is an iTunes for all versions of Mac OS X.  Note with iTunes versions 11 and later, which are needed for syncing with iOS 7 or or later, you will lose coverflow, if you liked that feature.  Sadly you can't run an older version of iTunes from within Mac OS X 10.9 or later.
    Sketchup: http://help.sketchup.com/en/article/60107 shows the versions that will work with intermediate Mac OS X versions, and this shows the latest version: http://help.sketchup.com/en/article/36208 be sure to click on the operating system you choose to use.
    GIF - Viewing GIFs Apple's Preview can do that.  Editing them, I like http://www.lemkesoft.com/ Graphicconverter.
    DMG is able to be opened by all versions of Mac OS X.  This are just "disk images" which store programs on a virtual disk that will open when double clicked.    Frequently you'll find the installer of the said program inside.  To find out if the program itself is compatible with 10.7 through 10.9, see http://www.roaringapps.com/
    Otherwise see the resources on:

    2. After validate image and PDF form is upload to the server. I want to get image file that embed in image field, because I have to extract image from PDF form and store this image in project image folder. If this topic can be fix by code script please give me some example code.

    Hi Naill,
    First I have to say thankyou for your answer.
    About my (1) question, My image fields have set to be a embedded data and I try to test many example script of image fields.I can get image content type, image size. But that not work when I used ImageField1.desc.embeddedHref.value. It's response as "Unknown Embedded URI". Therefore, image field is and embedded data. How can I access filename?
    (2) In that forum. As I see, his problem is about how to automate change image field with href image file. But I want to extract an exist embedded image in PDF form to normal image file with original metada (such as extract image filed to .JPEG with GPS data. Same as before attached in PDF form.). There has any concept or solution in this problem?

    Can anyone help me with burning DVD with images in Aperture and picture folder. I need the to be viewable on pc and DVD player if possible.
    My first attempt only works on mac.

    Eh la Pastenague! Je savais que tu était léthale pour l'homme mais ce sont pluôt les machines à pommes qui devraient te craindre. Merci! Solved.
    For future reference.
    My TC is a 3rd gen.
    I actually had to reset to standard defaults not only once but twice. The first time I simply returned to my old profile but that only led to the same message error on the network settings (i.e. IP by default, cannot connect to the internet). Therefore the second time around I kept my profile as backup and re-created a new one plus a guest one.
    The airport utility then signaled to issues remaining:
    1) Internet access was cut - this I solved by simply reseting the cable modem
    2) There were no DNS Servers - I simply copied the ones I had from the previous setup and it worked
    I did have AppleCare....
    I'm online again and I hope for good.
    Thanks a lot
    PS. a small tip - I made captures of all my settings in Network settings, Airport Utility and Network utility using Grab in case of ... if anything it is just handy to get back settings that your are missing when setting up a new configuration

  • Problems with Access, Vista, ASP

    Hello, I'm using DW CS3 and ASP classic on a machine with
    Vista Ultimate and having problems connecting to the MS Access
    Database via the testing server. When I try to add the database
    connection and create a DSN through the dialog box, I hit "Test"
    and get the following message:
    [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Disk or network
    error.
    [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr
    failed
    I suspect it is a permissions-based problem but have been
    unable to isolate it. The database is in the directory,
    C:\Users\Public\Documents\Database. So far at the folder level I
    have tried:
    - verifying full control permission for the Administrators
    group
    - giving full control permission to the IUSR_ComputerName
    account
    I also verified the access database itself has no permission
    restrictions.
    Incidentally I am new to CS3 and working through the book,
    "Adobe DW CS3 with ASP, ColdFusion and PHP Training from the
    Source", specifically the example in Chapter 7 using the newland
    database. I am somewhat familiar with dynamic web development
    (veteran of GoLive 6) but am not up to speed on developing under
    Windows Vista. BTW I have turned User Account Control off in
    Vista.

    IIS7 on Vista uses a different temp directory. Give 'modify'
    permission to
    IUSR for this folder:
    C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Local

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Image file access dates changing in mass (Windows).

    In review of the access date properties for image files within a directory being accessed by Bridge within the Favorites area, they are all changing to the current time and date, even if the image is not viewed within Bridge.  Why are the access dates of image files being changed even though they are not viewed?  This makes it hard to determine whether an image can be archived or deleted based on last access if Bridge is always changing the access date every day.  Thanks for any insight you can give on this!

    Is there a way to turn off the caching of thumbs or metadata or whatever is causing the Access date to change when searching or reviewing images within a directory using Bridge?
    As said, no experience with network environment. But Bridge is a browser and when you want to view things it needs to cache the file and data first.
    Having said that, in normal usage (stand alone) it stores and saves this data in the cache folder and once it has done so it will not need to recache until you have made changes to the file. Check Bridge prefs / Cache/ Location  to see where the data is stored when you are using this machine.
    By default on a stand alone Mac (windows seems to have a similar cache file) it should be in the User Library/ caches/ Adobe/ Bridge CSxx and inhere is a plug in and a folder called Cache, containing several folders.
    For Bridge CC there are 4 folders, 256 (the cache files of the thumbs) 1024 (containing HQ preview cache files) data (what it says) and full (containing the 100% previews in cache)
    All files that have been fully cached (pointing to a folder the content window should show already good thumbs and the activity bar bottom left in Bridge window should not show any activity, only the number of items showing and items hidden) don't need to recache for that machine again unless you changed something to the file or added metadata.
    So once cached there should be no reason for Bridge to 'access' the file again unless access means looking for the file to check if the saved data still applies to the corresponding file on your machine, but then al files should show about the same access time because this is a very fast process on a fast machine.
    You can't deselect cache because as said Bridge is a browser showing the content of your files, and to show this it has to generate a thumb and if needed a preview. But as also said, once cached it normally should not start recaching until changes are applied.
    You have several ways to set the quality of the cache:
    There are two checker board icons top right that give you the option to set for cache. By default it is set to 'Always HQ' to have both good thumbs and a good preview when pointing to a file.
    Then you also have to option to generate 100 % previews which provides you with almost instant 100 % previews for loupe in preview panel or full screen view and click. Logically this needs more time and generates a lot of big cache files, all depending on the files you start with and the size of your monitor.
    Finally you have the option to use embedded previews only. This is a very quick method but provides low quality thumbs (black border around it) and when clicking on a thumb it first needs to generate a HQ preview that then will take time.
    In Bridge prefs advanced there is the option to create also monitor sized previews which should provide you with good quality full screen when using space bar in Bridge to preview in full screen.
    This setting also creates a bit larger cache files in the 1024 folder depending on the size of your monitor (logical).
    And if you want to apply a search using the find command you also have to include non indexed files to search in all folders, including the not before cached files.
    Like first time cache this first indexing takes some extra time but should only need to be done once and then be persistent until you add new files or folders that have not been cached or indexed before.
    Until so far the theory for a stand alone. If you have the files stored in a Network and other stations have access and have different cache settings or monitor size settings there might be some other things going on, or someone else has changed the file on their station and then when you select that folder Bridge needs to recache the changes.
    Hopefully this makes some sense for you?

  • Predownload image to access points

    Hi,
    Just wondering if someone can shed some light on the predownload process.
    As per the WLC configuration guide:
    1. Download new image to the WLC.
    2. Change the new image to backup image. > config boot backup)
    3. Predownload new image to access points > config ap image predownload {primary | backup} {ap_name | all}
    Here not sure whether to use the primary or backup. Is it from AP perspective or from WLC.
    I mean
    using primary does it mean that the WLC primary image will be downloaded (which is in fact the existing image becasue of step 2.)
    or
    using primary means whatever image I download becomes the primary image on the AP
    4. Swap primary and secondary image on AP > config ap image swap {ap_name | all}
    5. Make sure all APs have done with the predownload
    6. reset system in HH:MM:SS image {swap | no-swap} reset-aps [save-config]
    Here not sure what exactly the swap image does. Whether it swaps the image on the AP only or on the controller as well?
    I have the feeling if I follow the guide my WLC will have the new code as backup and after reset system using the swap keyword the APs will come back with the new code.
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks
    Krisztian

    Hi Krisztian,
    both the WLC and the AP will consider the primary image to be the newly downloaded image.
    The current/running image will become the backup one.
    The step 2 you mentioned below (config boot backup) just means that if you reboot the WLC it will boot from the backup image (which is the "old" one in this case).
    You can check what is the active (running) and the next boot image on the WLC with the "show boot" command, e.g.:
    (Cisco Controller) >show boot
    Primary Boot Image............................... 7.0.98.0 (default) (active)
    Backup Boot Image................................ 6.0.199.0
    Then, after using the "config boot backup" command this will become:
    (Cisco Controller) >show boot
    Primary Boot Image............................... 7.0.98.0 (active)
    Backup Boot Image................................ 6.0.199.0 (default)
    So, the "config boot backup" won't make the backup image to become primary.. the WLC will just boot from the backup image.
    About the "config ap image predownload" command on the WLC, the primary/backup is from the WLC perspective:
    (Cisco Controller) >config ap image predownload ?
    primary        Predownload an image to a Cisco AP from the controller's Primary image.
    backup         Predownload an image to a Cisco AP from the controller's Backup image.
    I hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Federico
