  • Force language for one specifc business package only

    Dear collegues,
we have the requirement to force the language for one specific business package only. Other business packages should remain with multiple languages. So therefore I cannot force the language by user. I can force the language by i-view but that doesn't change the top level navigation. I cannot force it by workset or role.
Any clue wether this is possible and how it could be done?
    Best regards
    Tim

    Hi,
I would say that manual actions is the only way to do it...
    What I would do is:
    1. Multiple Property replacement (Portal funtionality) on all object in the BP structure
    2. Manual set the language on the remaining objects
if that not works then as last resort you could...
    3. remove all languages that you do not want to use via, the PCDinspector
Please not that its not best practice to change parameters on the main objects of a BP as updating the BP can result in overwriting your custom set proerties. It's alwayt better to make Deltalink copies first.
SAP propagates the "content mirroring" functionality for it but I'm not a personal fan of it as it sets the inheritance of nested object not the way you would expect.
    Good luck!

  • Upgrade path for ESS/MSS business package while upgrading to ECC 6.0

    Hi All,
We have a scenario where SAP Enterprise Portal 7.0 SP 18 is currently running with SAP ECC 4.6C. SAP ECC is being upgraded to SAP ECC 6.0 and consequently we have a requirement to upgrade to the latest ESS/MSS business package. In a scenario like this what is SAP recommended approach for ESS/MSS upgrade? My questions are
    1) Is a direct upgrade of ESS/MSS possible? If this is possible, then how will it be done on a production system with reduced or no downtime?
    2) Should ESS/MSS business package be deployed and configured afresh after removing/undeploying the existing version of ESS/MSS business package? If this is the case how would the earlier customizations be restored?
    3) Is there any other approach?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Suresh,
In my openion, it will be good if you go for new implementation, reason being as you mentiond ECC versionyou are on is 4.6c all the ESS applications are ITS based now a days all the application/iView for ESS are Webdynpro for Java or WD for ABAP based.
Till the time the new portal ready you can continue with your currect one (No down time require).
Most of the people are using this way. (Check the SDN for more details).
Also chcek this migration guide, which will give you the basic steps required.

Well for a start I would log on to the EBP system (BWD - server cgnsap04) and run transaction code ST22.  In there you will find a short dump with the error ABORT_MESSAGE_STATE.
See if there is anything in there that gives you a hint and also search SAP notes.
I would also check that all of the relevant services in SICF have been activated - it should say which in the installation guide.

  • Business packages for SRM to implement EP

    Hi All,
We are implementing SRM 5.5 in our company. Also, EP 7.0 we are implementing for SRM. Can anyone help me how to get the business packages for SRM and supplier collaboration, as i cant download it from sdn, as it is unrestricted shipment.
Also, how to import these business packages into EP.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sailesh K

    Hiya,
Yann already pointed out where to find the BP for SRM. The Business Package for Supplier Collaboration is also available from the <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/contentportfolio">Portal Content Portfolio</a> in the Specialist section. You want to go for the 2.0 release.
    Installation:
In SAP NetWeaver 2004s, the portal is installed as a usage type via SAPINST. For installing the Business Package for SRM 5.0, the installation process also goes via SAPINST. Please follow SAP note 883948.

  • Business Packages Maintenance Planner 1.2 and Buyer 1.4 implementation

    Hi Team,
We would like to implement below Business Packages on our landscape.
Business Package for Maintenance Planner 1.2
    Business Package for Buyers 1.4
Could any one advice any technical documentation with steps to be followed to implement the entire BPs.
I'm not able to find any standard PDF to follow, that would be really helpful if any one could provide template document with the steps to be followed
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ramesh

    Hi,
No need to worry. This is pretty straightforward. I have deployed many BPs using the following approach.
For each BP that is available, you also have corresponding config steps in help.sap.com.
For Business Package for Maintenance Planner 1.2 - http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/en/46/66a9bd5d9d5de5e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm
For Business Package for Buyer 1.4 -
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/EN/4b/8d453396515685e10000000a42189b/frameset.htm
You need to proceed as follows: (I am assuming you have already downloaded the package files)
    1. Deploy the BP files using JSPM.
    2. Follow the URLs for each BP above and you will find prerequisites and technical description and configuration information in these URLs (expand the page to get the frame on the left hand as well.) Follow the config steps, they would be pretty well descriptive.
Once done, you can assign the appropriate roles to the users who are going to use these functionalities. The roles are also documented in the same URLs.

    Shitij

  • Reg: Basics of business package implementation

    Hi,
Can someone provide me some documentation for basics on business package implemantation.
and i have a question, once the business package is installed on the portal, the respective roles and the iviews will appear in the specialist folder? or we have to do something from portal end?
    Thanks in advance.

    Jyothi,
Below are the steps for implementing BP in portal,
    1.     Derive the right business packages from System landscape study and analysis
    2.     Download the business package and the supporting components from Service market place through SolMan
    3.     Deploy the downloaded packages into portal through SDM (Software Deployment Manager)
    4.     Configure SLD(System Landscape Directory) and JCo (Java Connector)
    5.     Create Portal System Object for backend connection
    6.     Configure the Backend system
    7.     Configure and Customize the portal contents
Once you deployed the business package into portal, the portal contents such as iViewss, Pages, roles etc will appear under content admin -> portal content -> content provided by SAP folder.
Just serch in SDN for the suitable documentation.

  • Need a Business Package for Vendor Portal with ECC as backend ?

    Hello,
We are looking for a portal business package which can talk to backend ECC system and has the functionality to create/change/display POu2019s, Invoices, Inventory and reporting functionality. All this functionality needs to be available to Vendors via an External Facing Netweaver Portal.
I have gone through the list of BPu2019s available at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/contentportfolio and found some BPu2019s available for Buyers which has the above required functionality, however it has exposed ECC transactions directly via Transaction iViews which we cannot expose to Vendors.
Also there is one Business Package called Supplier Collaboration which delivers the required functionality, but unfortunately we do not have SRM/SUS components in the project.
Please let me know if you know business package to implement or if not best practices to achieve the functionality.
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Seshu.

  • Business Package for Talent Development Specialist

    Hi,
we are planning to implement the business packages for Talent Development Specialist.
Where can I find this business package for download ?
I couldn´t found it in this link  https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/contentportfolio
    Best Regards,
    Silvio Galery

    Hi Silvio
this was first delivered with the enhancement packages for SAP ERP 6.0. These enhancement packages are downloaded and installed differently. One important transaction for the downloading is the Solution Manager - Maintenance Optimizer.
For the complete picture, I suggest, that you go over the Master Guide for SAP enhancement package 3 for SAP ERP, or that you take a look to the "Must Know" from teh SAP Service Marketplace service.sap.com/erp-ehp.

  • POWL for Credit Check in Business Package Internal Sales Representative

    Hi,
    Need some Help!
We are into implementation of Business Package Internal Sales Representative (Provided as a separated role in Portal).
I have a requirement where I need to Add some functionality into standard Credit Check SAP Screen (Delivered via POWL).
    For this Perticular screen,
    1) Sold to Party IDs in Query result table appear as Links. On Click of these IDs (links), I need to open a new custom WD Component:
    2) I have to add few new Columns to Query results.
I have identified following about this Query:
    Query: O2C_LIST_CUSTOMERS_CCOCKPIT
    Type:  O2C_LIST_CUSTOMERS_COCKPIT
    Feeder:CL_O2C_POWL_CUSTOMERS
Also, when I checked in SPRO, following BADI is also provided for this query:
    BADI_FEEDER_CUSTOMERS of enhancement spot ES_BADI_O2C_POWL_FEEDER.
Looks to me that,  for adding new Columns in the query results, Get_Objects method of this BAdi should be implemented.
I guess this kind of things can also be done in Feeder Class Enhancements.
How should I go about doing this stuff?
    Thanks,
    Saumil Jyotishi

Hi Thomas. Thanks a lot for replying!
Let me describe you what I am trying to do here exactly.
Actually, while working on Requirement 1 (Opening a new action from a link), I came across getactions method of the feeder where I found the code where relevent standard action is handled. It goes like this:
      CASE i_actionid.
      Ehp4 enhancement: display customer
        WHEN 'KUNNR' OR 'NAME'.
          IF mv_ehp4_active = cl_ops_switch_check=>switch_active_true.
READ TABLE c_result_tab ASSIGNING <fs_result> casting INDEX I_ACTION_INDEX.
            CALL METHOD CL_O2C_POWL_UTIL=>GET_PORTAL_ACTIONS_CUSTOMER
              EXPORTING
                IV_KUNNR          = <fs_result>-kunnr
                IV_SPART          = <fs_result>-spart
                IV_VTWEG          = <fs_result>-vtweg
                IV_VKORG          = <fs_result>-vkorg
              IMPORTING
                ES_PORTAL_ACTIONS = e_portal_actions.
          endif.
End of Ehp4 enhancement: display customer
Now, on these actions ('KUNNR' OR 'NAME'), Instead of a new standard application, I need to open a Custom WD Application (with parameter 'KUNNR').
I need to figure out how should I go about it?
I tried to enhance the feeder and create overwrite exit where I can write my code in this CASE statement (which seemed easiest to me at first go), but seems like after creating an exit I need to do a lot of stuff (a local class is created in exit where I need to define a lot of standard stuff). As of now, its not working for me
Also, I tried to Create the BADI Implementation which gets executed after this standard code (HandleAction method of this BADI), but this gets called after  e_portal_actions get populated
how to open my custom WD(Instead of standard) Application from here ?
I can create the URL for my application with WDY_CONSTRUCT_URL, but how to open this in a new window on Portal?
I have seen in some threads about using OBN. If its required, how should I use it in this case?
For Requirement 2 (Adding new Columns in POWL Results), I am planning to define and add new columns in getfieldcatalogue and getobjects method of the same badi.
    Is it the right approach?

    Saumil Jyotishi

  • Business packages for Order to Pay process

We do not have SRM available or installed in our landscape. In light of this I am wondering if there are any business packages to cater for the "order to pay process", where a user raises a requisition etc etc .. A package in the form available to HR environments such as ESS that can be imported and customized as required. Thanks in advance for info.
